It's easy to think if I'm just "hungry for God," then I'm good, but Jesus tells us that we are blessed when we hunger and thirst for righteousness. When I find the end of myself; the place of carrying my cross. Then I will find myself truly surrendered to God and joyously living in His ways.

Jesus paid our debt for me to be free. Satan challenges the idea that I'm made in God's image; that he has a better way. So we live in an attitude of repentance to constantly position ourselves at the throne of grace.

The more I see Jesus, the better and more simple that dying to self becomes. Paul understood this in Romans 7, where he can fully recognize his wretchedness, but able to turn in surrender to God.

The whole weight of sin was laid on Jesus. The power of the cross is to redeem us to God. We want this to go from a theological truth to a lived reality in our lives.

We died to the world and to ourselves through it - and if that's true, then the true contentment, suffering, and testimonies come with it too.

He primarily does this in the gospels around the table and in people's homes. Hospitality is a spiritual gift, and we need a Biblical outlook on what it looks like, not what our culture says.

Paul promises that these "gifts, services, and activities," are for everyone and from the Spirit. At Kingdom Life, we believe this is an essential function of our church body - that everyone is called to to action. We need each other.

The best thing I can do for my neighbor is bring Jesus to them. This looks like many things, but KLC pursues communion with Jesus throughout our lives. Being rooted in those deep gospel encounters lays the foundation for God to do great things in our lives.

Abraham waited decades for God's promises while it looked like they'd never happen. And for some, they came to pass after his life. Our church is called to be a place for people to meet Him, and we will pursue that in the same faith Abraham believed.

We see Mary's life as an example of this - being patient and accepting what God has said he will do. Sometimes the greatest act of faith in our lives is to be still.

The fruit of the Spirit are the proof of God at work in our lives. God wants to display His fruit in us more than anything else. He will prune us if we ask Him to.

They’re essential tools God gave the church to reach the world. The greatest gift is the Spirit Himself, and from intimacy with Him flow miracles, healings, prophecy, and joy, all meant to build up the body in love. Even Paul, correcting the Corinthians, urged them to earnestly desire the gifts, reminding us that they’re meant to be stepping stones into the beauty of the Spirit, not stumbling blocks.

We now have the mind of Christ. Jesus promised the Spirit without measure, guiding us into truth and helping us discern all things, turning the Christian life into a highlight reel of God’s presence. To know His voice, we start with Scripture, listen in prayer, and walk in community, aligning our lives with the truth that His sheep hear His voice.

The Spirit brings all things of God to us. Fruit, gifts, transformation, and more.

The Holy Spirit wants all of us - our sin, our control, and our religion. Through Him, those things can be given over, not by practical means, but spiritual.

When abuses of spiritual gifts abound, it's all too easy to being skeptical and offended about the use of them. Would it not be so for us - the Lord has designed these gifts to unite us to Him and draw people in love.

Before Jesus began his ministry, he receives a baptism of the Spirit and Paul tells us to find men full of the Spirit and wisdom. Let's ask more of God, expect Him to move, and when we doubt, repent!

The love we have with Jesus is our greatest love, and when He gave us His Spirit, He gave us the gift of always having this first love. Our church exists because of this first love!

Walking through parts of the New Testament to see how we ought to view the Holy Spirit, we see how primary it is in our lives. Instead of Jesus staying here on Earth, we get transformation through the Spirit.

Jesus left us in order that he can send us His Spirit. Now the Holy Spirit doesn't just have a job description to reveal Jesus to us - it completely changes how we experience God and affect the world.

Jesus died and rose from the grave so that he could send the Holy Spirit to us. It's obvious in our world and to our world the difference between light and dark - which side will we partner with? God knows it's been enough of evil; do we?

In 1 Corinthians 10, Paul calls the church to finally forsake all idols before the Lord. While in that day in Corinth it may have been easier to notice what the idols were, our present day can be sneakier. Let us respond to the Lord's call to hold the Lord's table in high regard, and run to it.

In 1 Corinthians 11, we see what happened when communion and community became commonplace: it led to selfishness and abuse. The Lord is calling our church to approach the gathering with selflessness towards community and awe of the table.

This miraculous grace invites us into unity in several ways.

Jesus came to Earth in a willing body to be broken that we would have life. Dive in to John 6 with us.

In 1 Corinthians, Paul corrects the church for their culture surrounding communion of drunkenness, gluttony, and judgment. What is the right alignment of how we approach the table?

We'll delve into the rich theology and mystery of this command, unpacking what we are called to remember about Jesus's life, death, and resurrection, not as an act of guilt, but as a celebration of victory. Join us to rediscover the profound, transformative power of this sacred act and taste that the Lord is truly good.

Discover how Jesus affirms radical generosity centered on Him, while simultaneously instituting the Lord's Supper as a testament to His sacrifice and a foretaste of His return. This episode challenges us to examine our own confessions of Jesus—as Rabbi or as Lord—and consider what truly qualifies us to come to His table.

When we come to the table, we get to participate in the unity that God is. Jesus said, "I am in the Father and the Father is in me." And in that bringing us into unity, he "abolished in the flesh the enmity..." So now we can participate fully in God's forgiveness and forgiveness of one another.

Pastor Nick lays the foundation for our series on communion. We will approach the table in reverence and in remembrance. Not proud or scared, but ready to commune with God.

Revelation 5 tells us that heaven recognizes the blood of Jesus as the way that God redeemed us. How I live everyday now needs to center around this truth. Our consciousness has been cleansed and we are made right with God. Do these truths hit a wall in my life or do they touch everything around me?

Kelly Hoyt unpacks the excitement of God's New Covenant coming to us. Not the Jews only, but Gentiles. Walking through the history of God revealing Himself through covenants, we see how God has been working this plan for all of time to make the Holy Spirit a gift to all believers.

We can so easily have a gospel that is a white-washed tomb. Knowing Jesus in light of his full sacrifice is where we overcome.

In John 3, we see Nicodemus experience the wonder of the work of the blood for us. So much that he has a hard time believing it. Will we believe it?

The thief on the cross leads us in a startling approach to Jesus: in Jesus' and his own lowest moment, he requests of a favor of Jesus. What deep joy the thief must have felt, and then upon his entrance into heaven. God wants liberated disciples to go out from the church.

Jesus says his flesh is true food and his blood true drink. We can have eternal, or perpetual life, simply by experiencing this. Let us not be a people who think this is only for the forgiveness of sins!

The previous system of needing to cleaned and re-cleaned and only the High Priest entering the Holy of Holies was blown up when Jesus gave up his life. Now we are temples (1 Cor. 3:16) and we don't need a place to worship God (John 4). We may now draw near, because we are already accepted by God.

The blood of Jesus has covered a multitude of sins and wrongs in our world, and God has invited us into the place of travailing prayer with Jesus to live in it. Through our cries and longings, God gives us his heart, and our voices cry out to him in it.

Our sin has been cast away, and we no longer own it. Jesus tricked the enemy into killing him, that our blood is no longer required for the bill that needed paid - Jesus paid for it, and more. We now have so much more than we think we have, but especially the cleansing of sin.

Many of us have the challenge of moving the knowledge of Jesus uniting us into right relationship with God from our head to our hearts. When our minds have any qualifying thing for us to be acceptable to God, we are not trusting in the blood of Jesus that has made us right. Instead, quit making your salvation about yourself and approach Him via the blood, not anything I can account for.

All of us can have a deeper revelation of it. It began in the Garden of Eden and continues all throughout Scripture as an undercurrent: sin leads to death, and everything points to the blood of Jesus. His blood is meant to be experienced by us.

When the Lord frees us from sin, the power of that sin is weakened, but through spiritual warfare, the enemy will not go down without a fight. We can then walk alongside Jesus for freedom, no longer trying to walk a tightrope of obedience.

The endless cycle of following the rules and failing is an exhausting reality that God frees us from. Instead of that, we have been given liberty and freedom in the Spirit to not be driven by shame or glory, but rather connection to Him.

Jesus' obedience to the Father unto death gave us not only the way to be obedience, but the ability to do it, through His righteousness. Obedience by anything else other than His righteousness is simply right vs. wrong. Instead, the love of God draws us to obedience.

Obedience is often thought of in terms of right vs wrong, or doing the exact thing that God tells us. But Pastor Nick kicks off our series on obedience with an encouragement to view obedience from God's perspective: by His righteousness given to us, we now get to walk alongside Him in covenant.
