The Podcast show brings on a wide range of guests who have lived courageous lives in the face of many types of adversity.     On May 7th, John’s guest was Symone Fairchild, Founder of EyeOnDV. Symone Fairchild hails from the Washington, D.C. area and was raised in the martial arts, becoming a Master of Northern Shaolin Kung-Fu. Finding her way through and beyond childhood trauma on her own as a kid, combined with martial arts as a way of life, she developed an unyielding entrepreneurial spirit coursing through her veins which affords her a "pick yourself up by the bootstraps" type of tenacity. What has been written on her heart and soul though, aside from God, The Source of all things in the Universe, and her son, is acting. As a result of the journey thriving post-domestic abuse, she has come to understand exactly what her gifts are and why she has them. She was gifted in acting to breathe the light of truth through her characters. She was gifted in writing to bring forth the utmost truth through word.     LC #92 SHAWN SOURGOSE | Finding Joy in the Face of Cancer: A Powerful Reflection

    Shawn Sourgose – Writer, Director, Producer. Born and raised in Northern California, Shawn was influenced by local filmmakers such as Francis Ford Coppola, Saul Zaentz and George Lucas. At 18 he began film school college and eventually transferred to San Francisco State University gaining a BA in Cinema. In 1996 he wrote, directed and produced his first feature, "Brown Sheep", a dark comedy that sold internationally. In 1999 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career in the film business. He worked in television on "America's Most Wanted" and the first season of ABC's comedy series "Less Than Perfect" that starred Eric Roberts and Zachary Levi. He decided to focus on creating content as an independent filmmaker. Shawn was the creative force behind the feature films "Blood Of Redemption," starring Billy Zane, Dolph Lundgren and Vinnie Jones as well as "Wrath of Cain" starring Ving Rhames and Robert Patrick. He has been under contract as a writer for American Film Partners and optioned with Anthony Romano, producer of "Catch Me if You Can" and "I Robot." In 2020, he was diagnosed with stage 4 papillary thyroid cancer, which initially receded after surgery and radiation, but returned with a vengeance, metastasizing to a form with an incurable diagnosis. He attended a healing Mass shortly after the return diagnosis. When he was prayed over by a priest he was healed. His own doctors cannot explain what happened. Shawn knows what happened, God happened. Through the power of prayer and faith, he was healed.

    Michael Broderick an American actor. After serving in the Marines with HML/A-167 from 1986- 1990, the New Jersey native went to New York City and spent 10 years playing guitar in the never-quite-dead punk rock scene of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. In 2001,Michael changed gears and began a successful voiceover career. One of his first gigs was a long run as the voice of Arm & Hammer. In 2004, Michael moved from New York to Los Angeles to pursue acting in film and television. He booked his first television role on the smash Fox series 24 starring Kiefer Sutherland and followed that with roles on Justified (FX), NCIS (CBS), and many others. One of Michael’s career highlights was playing Special Agent John Bowen in Season 3 of HBO’s True Detective alongside two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. Michael has recently guest-starred on NBC’s New Amsterdam and shared the screen with Chris Pratt in the hit series The Terminal List. Michael is currently portraying MSGT Danny Patton, the lead role in the stage play Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret. Michael is active in the military veteran space, as well, devoting time to several Veteran Service Organizations. After moving to Los Angeles, in 1991, he produced and starred in KINGDOM OF THE BLIND which achieved critical acclaim at the Palm Springs and Santa Barbara Film Festivals. He then produced and directed TRUE FRIENDS, winning the Charleston International Film Festival. Being voted “Best Up and Coming Director” by the Laifa Film Awards and earned him a letter of endorsement from Martin Scorcese.James followed this promising start with work on several more projects in various roles as producer, director, and actor.     Robert Ham is an award-winning director/writer, an Army Combat Veteran, an alumnus of the USC School of Cinematic Arts MFA program, and the Owner/CEO of HAMMR Productions. Robert grew up in Los Angeles and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in film in 2005 and then joined the Army in 2007 as a combat documentarian/videographer. During his time in the military, he served a combat tour to Afghanistan in ’09-10 as a paratrooper with the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division (Airborne) and then would deploy over a dozen times to various areas in the Pacific (India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Philippines). Robert received the Department of Defense Military Videographer of the Year award three times and then left active duty in 2014 and remained in the Army Reserve until 2017. Robert remains the most award-winning military videographer in the post-9/11 era. Robert has since graduated from USC’s cinema school with an MFA in Film/TV in 2017. He now owns and operates a service-disabled veteran-owned production company called HAMMR Productions. He remembers going to the St Patrick’s Day Parade every March 17th in New York City with his Mom.As his neighborhood changed ethnically he lost touch with the Irish culture and adapted to the culture of the changing South Bronx. In 2008 he was contacted by an Irish cousin living in England that led to a journey and visit to Ireland on St Patrick’s Day and a reconnection with a family he didn’t know he had and rediscovery of his Irish culture. After being life flighted from Alabama to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dennis Talked to the doctors about the need probability and frequency of having to be near the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Doctors said that Emilia will need to be within 1 hour emergency range to her specialized hospital. The doctors said for her two rare diseases there were only two options, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia or the Hospital in Houston. Dennis made the decision to choose family over career and ended his career at just under 15 years. Dennis is a Christian with a very strong faith in God, a loving husband and a father of four beautiful kids. He is a boxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu- Jitsu practitioner, enthusiast, and enjoys competing in various martial arts tournaments. Dennis is the Project Manager for Might Oaks International. Dennis now dedicates his life to Precision rescues by using his Special Operations experience and skills to rescue sexually trafficked children, HVI's, Americans, and help those in need both Domestically and Globally. Dennis continues to be a voice and act upon being a Human Rights activist, Humanitarian crisis specialist, and an Evangelist.

    Live Courageously with John Duffy Guest Dan GordonDan Gordon (Hebrew דן גורדון; - born May 5, 1947) is an Israeli-American screenwriter, conceived in Alberta, Canada and is also a television writer, television producer, television director, film producer, novelist, playwright, film director, and reserve duty captain in the Israel Defense Forces. As a screenwriter, he has written films including Wyatt Earp, Passenger 57, Murder in the First, and The Hurricane, and developed the story for Rambo: Last Blood. He has been the producer, screenwriter and story editor for over 200 hours of television, including Highway to Heaven, Highlander, and Soldier of Fortune, Inc. He has also written stage adaptations of Terms of Endearment and Rain Man, and novels based on his screenplays as well as his own experiences fighting in the Gaza War. In 1971, Gordon began directing the film Potluck, based on a screenplay he had written. The film was never finished. F Gordon left to Israel, where Dan Gordon joined the Israeli Army in the early 1970s. He served for almost a decade, including during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. After more than a decade, Gordon returned to Hollywood to continue his screenwriting career in the early 1980s. He served as an escort officer in the Military Spokesperson's Unit during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. He was a reserve duty captain in the Israel Defense Forces Reserves when he was in his 70's when normally the IDF makes you retire at 49.
