We see God's sovereign choice. One particular young woman was marked out, selected to be the mother of the son of God.

In these wonderful words we have Christ's precious promise. He will never be absent from us. We see this in the picture of the golden candle sticks with Christ in the midst.

What a wonderful promise our Saviour has left us. He is with us.

What does the day of Pentecost mean to you? The dictionary tells us it is a festival of the Christian church seven sundays after Easter Sunday. It is the time when we celebrate the decent of the Holy Spirit. Whit Sunday is not a Biblical expression, referring to the newly baptised wearing white.

Feeling forgotten is a miserable experience. This is a common experience, howver when Israel thought that they had been forgotten, God had not forgotten them. Here there is a graphic assurance that theyu had not been forgotten

We are looking at what was evidenced in the Holy of Holies, beyond the veil. On the day of atonement the High Priest went in with the Golden Censor which gave forth a sweet odour. We are learing about our great High Priest, the Lord jesus Christ. Please note that the audio is of poor quality.

A wise runner takes the coach's advice. Some people will never take advice. This is found in Christian circles as well, but it is not spiritual. None of us ahave all the answers, all of us have much to learn.

When the wall was finished, Nehemiah did not sit back and rest. The work had to go on, the people must be protected and worship provided. We have to take practicle steps to prevent the enemies of the gospel getting a foothold in our churches. Let us do all we can. Refuse the platform to men who deny fundamental doctrine. Have no fellowship with darkness.

The shepherd knows his sheep by name and he knows all that there is to know about each of us. Petty jealousy etc. He sees all. This is humbleing and also comforting to know. He brings the sheep from all over everywhere. The exact date of this message is unknown and audio quality poor.

Jehova - That incommunicatable name of God, most sacred and distinctive. In hebrew this name was too sacred to vocalise. This name gives ttemendous insight into the nature of God.

The seasons of sowing watering, and harvest speak to us of how God regenerates his people when the seed of the word is sown in their hearts.

We have rain and we have harvest, so there is food for us to eat. Our daily bread comes from the Lord. Reverence for the Lord should be your response, but we are instead rebellious!

When the believers in Philipi read this greating they would think about their meaning. They are more than a greeting. They have great meaning. Grace is the foundation of our happiness in Christ.

Paul said little about his own personal condition, but he did entrust Tychicus with this personal duty. He wants them to know that whilst he is in prison, the gospel is going forward. Sharing information is helpful for prayer.

Jesus was going to Jerusalem to die in the place of sinners, to make an atonement. His disciples did not grasp the nature of what he had come to do. They expected he would be crowned king. Jesus corrected their false expectations.

Almost unknown, but mentioned in five books of the Bible, and the Book of Life. Tychicus was a chosen vessel unto the Lord. He worked with the apostle Paul.

Luke 21:12-19 -

The Apostle Paul was a minister of the gospel whilst he was in prison. He desired prayer for his work whilst he was a prisoner. We need to pray for gospel ministers today.

The Church building was in a bad state of repair. The Lord provided the funds needed, and now we are thankful. We pray that this building will continue to be used to the glory of God.

The disciples rejoiced because the Lord Jesus Christ had given them authority over the powers of darkness. What an honour and a privilege was theirs. If you are a true Christian, trusting Christ by faith alone, you are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. You can rejoice, too.

What does it mean to pray in the Spirit? Having the assistance of, being under the influence of and exhibiting the qualities of the Spirit when we pray.

In the English civil war the evangelical chaplins in Cromwell's army often led the men in prayer before battle. We are to go forward in prayer. It is prayer which will crown our efforts with sucess. Pray always with all prayer, with all supplications, with all perseverence for all sainsts. These are the four alls of prayer.

Luke 10:21 -

This world is a battlefield, and all Christians are soldiers. There is only one way we can stand our ground, and that is by putting on the whole armour of God. The Bible is the Spirit's sword.

When you pray, you are to keep on asking. We should not be quitters in the church of Christ.

As Christians, we are not children at a party; we are soldiers in a battle. Many today speak of enjoyable meetings, etc. However, we need to appreciate that the Christian life is an ongoing battle. The church is not a social club. The hymn writer reminds us, "fierce may be the conflict, strong may be the foe, but the king's own army none can overthrow."

As Joseph prepared to die, there were three things which he did which show how like the Lord Jesus Christ he was.

Christian, as you engage in the fight of faith, you have to stand against all the powers of darkness. You are up against the devil and all the demons at his command. That is why it is so vital that you put on the whole armour of God. Many people know about the devil but are ignorant about his devices. You need to know what you are up against

This stage production trivialises the glorious gosple of God's grace. The Apostle Paul contrasted truth with error, so must we. When the word of God is faithfully preached some are humbled into the dust of the earth. The gospel is not about dancing in the aisles or clapping.

The rock opera "Godspell" has changed a little over the years, however, the musical remains as dangerous now as ever. The serious message of the gospel is trivialised in a slap happy way. The deep things of God are trivialised. We mustn expose this error. R. B. Kuiper used to teach that we must teach the truth, but that this also means contrsting truth with error.

The words of our text are addressed to slaves, but that does not mean they do not apply to you today. If you work for someone else then these are vital lessons that transform your work into an opportunity for witness.

The training of children is the special duty and responsibility of the father. Today there is an urgent need for fathers to take up their rightful place. There is a balance in the biblical teaching, neither cruel nor soft.

In this beautiful verse, we are shown the care and compassion of Joseph. This reminds us of what the Lord Jesus Christ has done and will do for us. The Lord's people are very special to him.

Much can be learnt from the life of Joseph about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ desires his church to be holy. Today we come short of the divine standard but there is a work going on in our lives right now, a work of sanctification.
