It was nice to sit down with Nicolette, and to recap and reminisce about our time in these beautiful countries and cities. We got to answer some fan and friend questions which was a fun experience! We got to go deep on our physical journey around the wrold but also, our spiritual and emotional journies as a couple and as people. 025. Nicolette Ray Tuftin - When The Scale Doesn't Move (A Weight Loss Journey)

When the scale doesn't move (a weight loss journey) Another day another tale of transformation! And of all the journeys I have been witness to, none have hit harder or been more personal to me than that of my beautiful wife Nicolette. Weight loss is a tricky beast at times and sometimes despite doing our best the results that we see are disappointing to say the least… Nicolette has been at her journey for years now. With mixed success in the beginning. Small wins and defeating losses. AND despite the difficulty of the path she stayed committed and has created massive successes and momentum forward. Almost 20 lbs lost now, and many inches of measurement! In this episode we chat about the feeling state at the beginning of the journey, the pains of the defeats along the way, Nicolette's major turning point and systems and tools with which somebody on a weight loss journey can use to begin and continue to make consistent and meaningful progress. This transformation story is near and dear to my heart and of all the people I work with, the most intimate. I hope you enjoy the episode and come away with motivation and tools to empower you along your journey of health and fitness! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find me on instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/chasetuftin/ For weight loss and lifestyle coaching: https://wolvesdenboxing.ca/tta  Or if you just want to chat please feel free to reach out and send me a message anytime!

    024. James Tyler - A Cure To The Toxic Relationship With Your Scale

Welcome back to the show! This episode features my client and now good friend, James Tyler. In our 3 month journey together James has transformed his health and his life. During our journey we faced a significant hardship together regarding the scale. Although his weight went down, it didn't feel like enough. I am certain that MANY people have this experience... Doing everything right but, the scale just won't move. While coaching James I have learned so much as a coach, and those lessons include important tools that you can and should use to measure your physical transformation. There is so much to be said about James. He is an inspiration man. Hard working guy, loving father and husband, muay thai enthusiast and NOW, competitor... He is much more than expressed in this one conversation. AND. I really wanted to dive in on this topic to shed some light on this issue and to serve those who may be going through the same process. What to do when you're not losing weight. And to give to them tools, hope and motivation to continue their journey forward, to better health. I am thankful for my time with James and I am very thankful to now call him a friend. I hope you enjoy the episode and may it find those who it's meant to serve.

Leaivng behind our lovely life, loved ones and my business. To be honest, from my perspective, it was a very difficult decision to make. 022. Kostas Bach - The Life Of A Law Student, Competing Fighter And Ultra Marathon Runner

Welcome back to the pod! On episode 22 I have my good friend and former boxing athlete on, Kostas Bach. In my time with Kostas I found him to be quite a remarkable man. While he was boxing competitively with me, He was also a student attending university for a law degree, working part time AND training to become an ultra marathon runner. The levels of not only disciple I experienced from Kosats but also, his optimistic outlook on life is contagious. In this episode we chat about Kostas' experience in the current university system, we deep dive the experiences of both his fights, from losing his first to a brilliant win in his second bout! And finally, just how deep he had to dig to run an ultra marathon. Kostas exemplifies the message and name of this podcast... and this episode is one of my favorites to date! 021. Kevin Teichroeb - Mega Churches, The Believability Of The Bible And The Path To Success And Contentment

Welcome back to the show! On episode 21 one I have returning and popular guest Pastor Kevin Teichroeb. It is always an honor to have the opportunity to talk with him. The way in which Kevin views the world, the thought with which he considers and answers questions is admirable. After a conversation with him I am always left feeling renewed and thoughtful about the topics and the lessons uncovered. Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulty with this episode. And, I felt that I must release it anyways. I hope that you enjoy the conversation as much as I did and I hope that it adds some useful value and insight into your day, and your life! 020. Joshua Curley - How To Build Confidence And The Process To Set Goals And Crush Them

Welcome back to the show! In episode 20 of the podcast I am joined by Joshua Curley. A rockstar client and veteran of my online coaching programs. If you are someone who is wanting to lose weight, who is struggling with your goals or are feeling like you are on a back slide with it all right now. This episode is going to be a great listen, as that is where Josh was at, at the start of our journey together. In our time together Josh boosted some amazing feats. He went from not being able to do 1 pushup to doing 40 in one set. He pushed himself to complete a 75km bike ride, and, although not his main goals, he lost 20lbs and 2 inches off of his body. Josh and I sat down as a testimonial to the program and we dug into some interesting insights around how confidence is developed through our physical body and the setting and completion of meaningful goals. We thoroughly discussed the process of how to set goals, make them into milestones and then follow a winning process to complete the goals. Josh is in my opinion a stand out guy. He has lofty visions for the future he is creating and spending this time together was a blessing. Enjoy the episode! 019. Meryeta O'Dine - 2x Olympic Bronze Medalist, A Life Of Sacrifice To Live The Dream

Welcome to episode 19 of The Mediocre To Monster Podcast! This week's episode is with the amazing Meryeta O'Dine. Meryeta is an Olympic bronze medalist and professional athlete in the sport of snowboard cross racing! As with athletes that come onto the podcast I was exceptionally curious about the life long journey that it was to become the person and athlete that she is today. And, as ALWAYS I was blown away by Meryeta's emotional intelligence and her ability to tell her story and share her experiences in a such a powerful way. Meryeta went deep on the journey that was her life to this point, the importance of coach/athlete relationship, overcoming injury, overcoming doubt, her experience at the Olympics and much more. It was a honor to have the opportunity to have her on the podcast and to be able to draw lessons from the unconventional life she as lived. Enjoy the episode! 018. Terri Boucher - Modern Feminist Counter Culture, Have You Outgrown Your Circle, What Do Men Want And Need In A Woman

Whats up everyone!  This episode I am joined by my friend Terri Boucher! Terri is an ambitious young woman, owning her own business, coaching other women to thrive and aspiring to become the best human that she can be. Terri hosts her own podcast called "Unhinged And Healing" and so I thought, what better person to have on my podcast and get unhinged! Myself, as well as Terri, share similar beliefs that could certainly be considered controversial... Motherhood and the role of women in society, dating culture, promiscuous sexual behavior and it's effects on the mind and soul AND on society itself. Terri and I dove into some sticky topics and last time I was on her podcast we got some people fired up. We got to dive into our own selves as well and acknowledge our own short comings and responsibility for the things we've created in our lives! This episode was a fun and refreshing break from the intensity of a few of my last podcasts. Enjoy the episode! 017. Kevin Teichroeb - Is God Calling To You, The Difficult Path Of Seeking The Truth, Why Is Christianity Under Attack

Welcome back to the show, I am particularly grateful for this episode and the opportunity to present this conversation to the audience. Kevin Teichroeb is a Pastor of a local church in Vanderhoof. I attended one of his sermons in my own journey of spirituality and was blown away by the way that he thought about, prepared and studied for the sermon. Afterwards we sat down to chat and I found myself becoming even more impressed by him. Kevin is exceptionally well read, introspective and HONEST. And thus, I invited him to the podcast. During this episode I got to speak honestly about my own experineces of Christianity and the journey that I am currently on in relationship to God, and had the opportunity to speak to him about some questions about the journey of spirituality, about Christianity itself and about his own experiences as a man, husband, father and pastor. Kevin and I spoke deeply about some interesting topics: How can you tell if you are seeking the truth in your life? How can you tell if god is calling to you? Why is Christianity under attack? And MUCH more... This episode is very meaningful to me, as all episodes are... In particular I think that this conversation is eye opening and thought provoking. I hope that you enjoy the conversation as much as I did! Enjoy the episode! 016. Nicolette Ray Tuftin - Why You SHOULD Fight It Out In Marriage, Overcoming Imposter Syndrome, The Entrepreneur's Journey

This week on the Pod, we are joined once again by my partner in crime and my beautiful wife Nicolette Ray Tuftin! Nicolette is a Branding Magician, courageous entrepenuer, and I cannot express this enough, powerful feminine figure in my life. This year I asked, "What are the most useful things I can talk about?" And near the top of that list for me was marriage and relationships. And so what better way to think through and discuss marriage than to have on my (sometimes painfully) honest wife and talk to her about marriage! In this episode we got to chatting about the entrepreneur's journey and my experience with it currently as I dive into a new realm... online coaching. We talked through the experiences that I think a lot of business owners have... imposter syndrome, authenticity, courage and much more. Nicolette and I talked about marriage and the surreal experience that it is when you are actively co-creating the vision that you both have for your life. We talked about how important it is to fight it out in marriage! Productively of course and to stand what is meaningful to you personally and as a partnership. No more sweeping it under the rug... As always... Hope you enjoy the episode! 015. Erin Saunders - The Forgotten Remedies, Tips For Starting Your Own Herb And Vegetable Garden In The North

What's up everyone! I am very excited for this week's episode of the podcast. Last time Erin came on the show, we had what I consider to be an important conversation about raising children in the modern world and the state of the school systems. A little off the rails admittedly... BUT! This week, I had the original conversation I had wanted to have with Erin. Erin is a life time farmer and rancher. Her family raises their own live stock, grow their own gardens, and use the naturally growing herbs of the land to feed their family. This is a topic I find EXTREMELY interesting. I think we can all agree that we are better off knowing about how to grow our own food and herbs, especially considering some of the recent events of the modern world. Erin walks us through her experience, particularly with gardening. She shares with us the information that you need to begin this hobby and her experience having done it for years. I was particularly interested in what is needed to be known about growing in the harsh northern climate. This episode is chalk full of useful gardening information and I think Erin did a wonderful job about laying it out as concisely as possible! Enjoy the episode! 014. The Ultimate Guide To Succeed In Competition

Welcome back and wishing you a VERY happy 2024! I asked myself this week, what is my intention for 2024? And the most important answer that I kept coming back to was to provide as MUCH value as OFTEN as I can. This episode is near and dear to my heart, it has truly been a labor of passion for the last 10 years of my life. What are the most important things to know about your first fight and how do you prepare properly for the fight!  This is a Recap of the information covered in the episode: WHY do you want to fight. What is the time period necessary to prepare.  How can you test your readiness for the fight. What do you need to know about your first fight and beyond. How to prepare tactically. Day of fight. The fight itself. Life after competition I truly hope that you enjoy this episode and that it serves as a reference and guide for your first fight and for planning, understanding and preparing for competitions beyond the first. I worked to jam pack this full of information and to make it digestable. Covering the most important information I could! If this podcast was useful for you, please! Share it with a friend, share it on your social media and... Go kick some ass! 013. Greg Williams And Connor Tuftin - The Responsibility Of Fatherhood, Journey from F*ck Boy to The Man Your Family Deserves

Welcome back to the podcast everyone! A more rambunctious episode this week as I am joined by my brother Gregory Williams, and my ACTUAL brother Connor Tuftin. This episode was a blast as we cut loose and dove deep! Greg is a baby on the journey of fatherhood, a topic that I find extremely interesting. It was great to be able to bend his ear and get his perspective on the journey thus far. We went deep on the responsibility and the duty that it is to be a father and how that relates to how you take care of yourself and hold yourself in life. I met Greg when he was much younger and have watched as he matured into the man that he is today. Like myself he had a party boy phase that was slightly self destructive but surely left us with a feeling of wanting something bigger than that. Join us as we dive into the utility of voluntarily suffering, the responsibilty of a father to take care of themselves, physically, mentally, and emotionally. The importance of your social surrondings, especially as a young man. MOST importantly, we got to touch in on our theories surronding aliens and our critical review of the Mario Movie... 012. Krysten Janzen - The Weight GAIN Journey, Overcoming Body Dysmorphia, Tips To Simplify Your Nutrition And How To Choose A Coach

Hey Party People, Welcome back to the show. This week I am joined by a fellow, former skinny person and Prince George resident - Krysten Janzen! Like me, Krysten suffered being from being "too small". Her transformation was one of gaining weight. Struggling with her body image as a teenager, she could not maintain a healthy body weight and was always told that she was "too skinny" and needed to "put meat on those bones." Krysten is a weight gain inspiration. Through passion and dedication she has transformed her body as well as her mindset. Competed in multiple body building shows. And has worked diligently to create a fantastic coaching business supporting women with all of their weight loss/gain and fitness goals. As you know, I am obsessed with the transformation journey and the mentality of high achieving people. I think Krysten exemplifies those traits perfectly. Naturally I had a lot of questions for Krysten and she DELIVERED! Join us as we chat about Krysten's transformation and our experience with body dysmorphia. All the different diet fads and terminology. Simple nutrition tips you can apply to your life. Why you should invest in a coach and how to choose a GOOD coach.  Enjoy the episode! 011. Gemma Marchant - All About Crossfit, The Work Ethic Bred From A Hard Life, And Shifting Those Body Image Issues

Another day, another conversation with a high achieving athlete!   Gemma is a local Prince George crossfit athlete who has big dreams for her future in the sport!   I know next to nothing about crossfit aside from that it is extremely difficult.   It was wonderful to sit down with Gemma, learn about the sport, listen to vision for where she's going, and to hear her insights on sports performance, body image, and a host of other topics.   One of Gemma's current focuses is to represent herself and PG in competition in Florida in the new year. It is a big stage for her to showcase her hard work.   Competing in jiujitsu and managing my team of competition boxers, I deeply understand the difficulty that comes with sports competition, especially in regards to affording travel. AND I can also tell you I am intimately connected to the pride that, I as the coach feel, and that I can see the athletes feel when they get to travel to somewhere else and to represent their team and city on the stage of a competitive venture.   I think Gemma illustrates perfectly in our podcast the importance of sports for health. Both physical and mental. Her story and life have been quite the journey. Any opportunity to support a local athlete is a chance to support Prince George and the community as a whole, in my opinion, and there is no one more deserving of the opportunity to chase her dreams!   You can support Gemma by joining her open workout at Northern Ice Crossfit on november 25th! Admission is through donation. Or by checking out her gofundme link!   Enjoy the episode! In this episode we will journey down to the pit of mediocrity. And the lessons and wisdom garndered as I learned and developed into the hero of my own tale. What boxing has taught me. What being in and then mentoring two 3 month leadership containers revealed to me. Why I choose to compete in Jiujitsu and much more!
