Producer since 1990 - Live Act since 1990 - DJ since 1992 from Berlin/ Germany As bold as ever, House and Techno music has always been at the centre of Mijk van Dijk’s musical universe, the place he calls his ‘microglobe’. Not satisfied with only mixing moving beats and emotive sounds, Mijk is dedicated to spreading a message through song titles, samples and his own lyrics. The idea of a microglobe: sharing ideas and music with people across an ever more connected planet and the facets of electronic music just being audible continents in a world of music continues to shape his artistic imagination. Throughout a career that now spans 28 years in electronic music alone, Mijk has produced with and for a diverse number of artists, including DJ Hell, Claude Young, Takkyu Ishino, Thomas Schuhmacher, DJ Rok, Toby Izui, Tanith, Cosmic Baby, Namito, Rummy Sharma, Rob Acid, Tom Wax and Martin Eyerer. He has also remixed Moby, Denki Groove, 2raumwohnung, GTO, Frankie Bones, Humate and Emmanuel Top, to name but a few. One of his most acclaimed productions to date – the Marmion tune Schöneberg – was conceived in collaboration with Marcos López and is considered as one of the eternal classics in House and Techno. Mijk has toured worldwide and developed an especially strong bond with fans in Japan, where he released on major and independent labels, such as Sony Music and Frogman Records. Being a practiced musician Mijk van Dijk has played live to audiences of tens of thousands, as well as jamming with music artists of different disciplines and genres. His DJ sets may often include live elements such as drum machines and effects, making each a fresh and exclusive experience. Microglobe is now home to all the different shades of Mijk’s musical style. It began as a project name under which he released his first album Afreuropamericasiaustralica and now represents his new label microglobe musik produktion which merges all the influences of Mijk’s music in one distinctive musical message. The first offering is the EP “Peace 4 All”, released on September 14th 2018. Other recent releases include his remixes for German electronic pop duo 2raumwohnung, T-Raum (Vienna), Henning Richter (Berlin), Sub Human Bros (Japan) and the latest “Schöneberg” remixes by Tim Engelhardt, 2raumwohnung and Der Dritte Raum. Mijk van Dijk was already called Multi-Mijk by Germany’s leading Techno mag Frontpage in the early 90s. This is truer today than ever before.

Mijk van Dijk DJ-Set 15 Years of BluFin Records
When BluFin boss Andrea Engels asked me to mix a DJ-Set for the 15th anniversary of BluFin Records on ecosonic radio last weekend I was more than delighted. I’ve been releasing some of my most important records on this label from Cologne/ Germany since 2006: my definite piano track (Ebony), my very own Christmas EP (Xmas Carols) and two cooperations with my friend Rummy Sharma from India, resulting in the 200th label release with our “Mankind United EP”. And man, we need some kind of unity in 2020, don’t we? To shine a spotlight on the good work of BluFin records, I did a mix with some of my favourite BluFin tunes, that I actually still play, also introducing my latest collaboration with Henning Richter, very soon out on BluFin. Please enjoy!

Mijk van Dijk DJ-Set for WonderfulRave, 2020-04-25
Everybody’s streaming and so do I, every once in a while. My booking agency Classic DJ asked me to contribute to their Wonderful Rave program and so I played this vinyl DJ set straight from my living room, with only Mijk tracks from the past. With a few surprises, rarities, remixes I did, remixes I’ve received and of course some of the usual suspects, all glued together with two turntables and a mixer. Not just an ordinary mixer though, but the spankin’ new glorious Pioneer DJM-V10, that I reviewed already for Bonedo. Here’s my set for you to rewind. Enjoy! If you prefer video, here’s YouTube 4 U: https://youtu.be/fsDriauaDBU Please refer here for the PLAYLIST https://microglobe.de/mijk-plays-mijk-for-wonderful-rave/

In case you've missed my show on www.report2dancefloor.com last Saturday, here's your rewind. I'm playing lots of new tracks, some with a nod to the old school bias of our hosts from report2dancefloor and some from very different genres. And I'm really glad to finally reveal tracks from my next EP on microglobe, entitled "Thinking 4 U": #stayhome #staysave #flattenthecurve

Mijk van Dijk DJ-Set in Heidelberg, 2020-03-14
On March 14th 2020 I was supposed to play together with Gerzee in Heidelberg, invited by Kay Barton, for whom I had produced a remix one year ago. Unfortunately the rightful measures against the corona virus pandemic made it necessary to cancel the party. Gladly we gathered in a small group at Kay’s loft and played DJ sets to a few friends, which turned out a super-nice house party. I hope my set eases your mind in these trouble-some times. Please stay home if you can, be safe and help to slow down the disease!

Mijk van Dijk Special Disco DJ-Set at Disco Bizarre, 2020-01-11
On January 11th 2020 I played a very special set at Disco Bizarre at KitKat Club Berlin: almost 3 hours of disco infused Boogie, Funk, Wave and Electronica. Definitely a set like I never played it before, lots of music from my very early music-lovin’ days, music so exiting, that it made me want to create my own. Thanks to DJ himSelf and DJ Billy Idle for having me and recording this.

Mijk van Dijk presents Japan City Pop of the 80s Vol.2 - Sunshower Mix
It’s been way too long since I uploaded my first Japan City Pop DJ-Mix, which became an overnight success and with 11.600+ listeners to date my most popular mix on Mixcloud by far. It’s really amazing, how many people seem to share my passion for City Pop (シティーポップShitī Poppu), the sound, that emerged from booming urban Japan in the late 70s and early 80 and I want to take once again the opportunity for a very warm-hearted “domo arigato gozai-mashita” (-_-) for all the love and support you have been giving that mix. This time I start in 1977 with "Summer Connection" of Taeko Ohnuki’s wonderful album “Sun Shower”, play many sun-kissed vibes by Tatsuro Yamashita, Toshiki Kadomatsu and more to end the mix with a song called “Sun Shower”, produced in 1989 by Japan’s Proto-House pioneer Soichi Terada, whom I had the pleasure to meet one year ago at the Kaga Music Festival. Mixed last night before the hottest day in German history (40°C max) this truly deserves the name “Sunshower Mix”.

The Recap of Krautrock at LSBmaze by Mijk van Dijk
And now for something completely different: Attention: this DJ-Mix contains no Techno or House music. Just Krautrock from 1970 to 2019, from Germany, England, Japan…. But why? This music had a huge influence on my musical upbringing. Before German New Wave (NDW) there was German music that was totally unique. I tried to play Michael Rother’s shining guitar melodies on my acoustic guitar, clapped on my knees to the stoic beats of Jaki Liebezeit and wished I had a synthesizer. On June 13th 2019 I took the opportunity to play only Krautrock during a Liquid Sky Berlin event that I hosted with my friend 10cars at Maze Club in Kreuzberg. I played all those upbeat German Krautrock tracks from the 70s and added some new Kraut by bands like Camera, Minami Deutsch / 南ドイツ, Verstärker, Stereolab and so on. I guess many of you might discover something new! Hope you enjoy the experience!

Mijk van Dijk - TRAUM Showcase I
In 1990 'Mijk van Dijk' was one of the first artists to emerge from the early Berlin Techno scene. In 1992 Mijk mixed Techno beats with emotive sounds and together with Cosmic Baby coined the term „Trance“ with the compilation Tranceformed From Beyond, the first of it’s kind. In 1993 together with Marcos Lopez he wrote the Marmion classic Schöneberg. Throughout the 90s and 00s Mijk has been working with artists as diverse as DJ Hell, Claude Young, Takkyu Ishino, Thomas Schuhmacher, DJ Rok, Toby Izui, Tanith, Namito, Rob Acid, Tom Wax, Martin Eyerer and remixed Moby, Denki Groove, GTO, Frankie Bones, Humate and Emmanuel Top, to name but a few. He has been touring worldwide and developed an especially strong bond with his fans in Japan, where he released on big and small labels like Sony Music or Frogman Records. Mijk van Dijk DJ Set at Walfisch Revival Party Berlin, 2019-03-08
This is my 7th DJ-set at Walfisch Revival Party. Keeping the tradition of playing tracks that I did not play at Walfisch so far, I started easy with almost housy beats and vibes. Then I payed tribute to the late Keith Flint of The Prodigy (which truly was a "Firestarter" on the floor) and prepared the following rave bombs, until finally Hardy Hard took over. Thanks to Steffi, Felix FX, Henriko M. Sagert, the whole WRP-Crew and - YOU! Hope you enjoy my set as always. ;-)

Mijk van Dijk in Kigali/ Rwanda, Mamba Club, Part 2 of 2
In January 2018 I was invited by the Goethe-Institut Kigali to come to Rwanda and give workshops and play a DJ-set. After gathering inspiration at Inema Arts Center, THE party to be in Kigali on a Thursday night, I played a lot of new and old Tribal Techno tracks on Friday at lovely Open Air Club Mamba in Kigali before I went all Techno during my almost 5-hours-set. Great response by the very mixed crowd. Techno is on the map in Rwanda. Big thanks to Goethe-Institut Kigali, the Urban Gorilla Collective and Mamba Club. If in Kigali, definitely check this club out. It’s got a pool, a playground, a volleyball court and the only bowling track in Rwanda for afternoon activities. And a billiard table, a bar and occasional parties in the evening. It even got guest rooms. This recording comes into two pieces, look for Part 1 on my Mixcloud.

Mijk van Dijk - 20 Years Future Mix Anniversary
Greetings from Shenzhen/ China, where 2018 started 7 hours earlier than in Berlin! My NYE gig at Oil Club in Shenzhen was fantastic. Great sound system, good people and truly great Techno. Loved it!For those of you who don’t know Shenzhen: it’s a ever-growing city next to Hong Kong, now with 13 million inhabitants, the future “Chinese Silicon Valley”. That NYE party was part of the Future Mix 20th Anniversary Festival, hosted by Nibing, the presenter of the Future Mix radio show. Even those not listening to his show might know his voice as the presenter on the legendary Technasia Future Mix debut album. Recorded and first uploaded with MixBox2. https://evermix.fm/mix/7cd5fa48-ded0-4b21-822b-decea10e3857/

Mijk van Dijk Classic DJ Set at Walfisch Revival Party Berlin, 2017-10-06
Wow, that was a wicked night at WALFiSCH Revival Party! As always I played mostly tracks I did not play so far at Walfisch Revival Parties so when you listen to my Walfisch mixes you won't get the same 20 records in alternative combination but a complete picture of my Old School Techno narrative. Many British guests this time and so I played in the first hour a lot of piano tracks and breakbeats vinyls, that I hadn't played in two and a half decades, literally! Thanks to Steffi, Felix and the Walfisch Crew to make it happen once again! Hope you enjoy this "British Breakbeat Inferno" ;-)

During my 29th tour to Japan I recorded a 45-minute DJ set only of my latest tracks and remixes for the Oiran Warm Up Show at Block.fm Radio in the heart of Shibuya. It was live on Friday September 29th at 20:00h Japan time. Thanks to Venus-san and Taku-san for having me on their wonderful station. This is the music that I’ve produced and released in the last 12 months. Also two unreleased tracks included. Can you spot them?

Live @ Distillery Leipzig, Oldschool-Set, 17.10.2009
This is a recording from a live set in 2009 I was invited to play my classic tunes at the 17th anniversary party of legendary Distillery club in Leipzig/ Germany and decided to revamp the music to today's standards. So this is all at a 125 bpm speed, even those fast LoopZone tracks that used to be beyond 150 bpm back in the days. The set is also a bit wild and loose, you can really feel how nervous I act in the beginning. But as the music goes and as the crowd gave more and more love to me, I warmed up and the "Schöneberg"-version at the end is totally X-rated heat ;-) Big thanks to the great staff and crowd at Distillery Leipzig, they really made me want to play live on a regular level again. For the spec war sharks amongst you: I've been using Ableton Live 8 on a MacBook, a Vestax VCM-600 controller, Yamaha RS7000, Korg nanoPad, Korg Kaossilator, MFB Synth Lite II, Boss VT-1, a Shure microphone and a small Behringer Mixer. The recording is slightly edited and mastered! And here's the tracklisting: 1. Sex Machine Man 2. The Gap 3. Natural High 4. Timeout 5. Environmentality 6. Don't Panic 7. Love Devotion 8. What Is Space 9.Schöneberg 10. High On Hope

Mijk van Dijk's Dusty Dub Mix for Liquid Sky Berlin presentzzz, April 14th, 2017
This is the Dusty Dub Mix I played live on Liquid Sky Berlin presentzzz on April 21st during Superbooth17, featuring new and classic dub tech tunes. I was much inspired by the beautiful dub excursions that our LSB family member Twin Peetz played at the Ambient Jam Session one night before at Maze Berlin. If you want to rock easy through dusty clouds of Dub Tech, this mix is for you.

Mijk van Dijk - When 303s Are Dreaming
I did this DJ Mix for "Liquid Sky Berlin presentzzz" , the radio show by the Liquid Sky Berlin posse on Alex Berlin radio 91,00 FM on March 3rd to celebrate "303-Day". Some tracks are absolute classics, some are very unknown, some are played at unusual speeds, thanks to Traktor DJ Software. My focus was on "dreamy 303" sounds. Can you feel it?

Live @ Tekknozid, Oldschool-Set, 18.02.2017
I played live at the Old School Party Tekknozid last Saturday. So much love, so much sweat, it was just great! Many of you asked for a recording of my set and here it is, live from my stagemixer. Unfortunately my microphone created heavy feedback so that I refrained from using it and could not perform with vocals just as I planned it. Next time, baby! ;-) I hope you enjoy my live set. Only tracks from my first EPs as LoopZone or 9-10-Boy with Tanith and some unreleased tracks with samples from the attic (aka floppy discs). Here's a short video: https://youtu.be/HKxAKRhcugw

Mijk van Dijk LIVE at Kassablanca Jena
October 2nd 2016 Mijk van Dijk played his first techno liveset of the year at Kassablanca Jena, performing a mix of my music from the last 25 years and also introducing the first EP on my label microglobe productions called "Peace 4 All" which went down like a storm. The motivation for the choice of tracks out of 2 ½ decades (see playlist below) was the party motto of the Rave Strikes Back crew: "25 Jahre House & Techno in Jena". Support on the DJ decks came from my Berlin boy DJ Jauche aka Oliver Marquardt and Jena's own Foch & Mulé. Kassablanca is next to Distillery Leipzig the longest running Techno club in the East of Germany and yet this gig was a first for me. Thanks so much to Kassablanca and the Rave Strikes Back crew. P.S.: If you wonder about the strange project names in my playlist: it's because of even stranger U.S. upload rules: - Maximum 4 tracks by an artist (and max 3 consecutively) - Maximum 3 tracks from an album (and max 2 consecutively)

Mijk van Dijk Classic DJ Set at Walfisch Revival Party Berlin, 2016-09-23
I had the honour to play on the 15th edition of Walfisch Revival and again brought almost only records that I didn’t play in my sets before to further complete my narrative of Old School tracks through my Walfisch sets. This time the recording is slightly distorted, but it also transports the heavy phatness of the sound on the dancefloor, so please don't mind. This time I played many Superstition Classics, since there is much more to the back catalogue to that label than the usual suspect tracks. Also I noticed that I had never played the Schöneberg Original at Walfisch so far. Only "doubles" are "Doo Da Doo" by Robot Man, "Acid Phase" by Emmanuel Top and once again the big final track "Follow Me" by Jam & Spoon, mainly due to the fact that it was Jay's birthday. ;-) Special thanks to Steffi and Jay for making it all happen once again and I hope you Mixclouders once again enjoy my mix.
