Karl and Crew - Biblical Alignment with Dr. Adam Rasmussen & From Atheism to a Believer with York Moore
Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme, "What are you looking for?" We had York Moore join us to share how his search for meaning as an atheist college student led him to Christ, and why he believes this generation is hungry for Jesus in a powerful way. York is the President, CEO, and National Evangelist of the Coalition for Christian Outreach. He is a gifted speaker, revivalist, and author of several books, including Do Something Beautiful. Dr. Adam Rasmussen joined us to explain why many lack biblical alignment between what they believe and how they live, and how discipleship can help close that gap. Dr. Rasmussen is a fellow at the Cultural Research Center and Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Arizona Christian University. With over three decades in Christian education, he has taught on biblical literacy, apologetics, and worldview formation, helping connect faith, reason, and culture. We then turned to the phone lines to hear from our listeners. We asked the question, “How did you go from ‘Spiritual but not religious’ to a follower of Jesus Christ?” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. Ed Stetzer Live - Allowing God to Redeem Our Pain
We don’t like pain. So we try to avoid it or deny it, but we're still left hurting. And yet our suffering presents an opportunity to encounter God and allow Him to redeem our pain. Ed Stetzer talks with Liz Hall about her book, When the Journey Hurts: Finding Meaning in Suffering for Heart, Mind and Soul and how you can use theology, psychology and spiritual formation to teach you how to redeem that suffering in relationship with God and others. Holy Hygge - Rest with Jennifer Dukes Lee
Come to me all of you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Jesus famously said these words in Matthew 11. He urges His disciples to seek rest in Him, no matter the circumstance and no matter what the world defines as rest. How can we, as Christians, seek this same kind of rest from an unseen God? How can we practice true, Biblical rest and cultivate it in our families? In our homes? In this episode of Holy Hygge, Jamie is joined for one final conversation by Jennifer Dukes Lee on all things rest: what it is, why it acts as a tenet of hygge, and how to practically practice it as believers. About Jennifer: Jennifer Dukes Lee is the author of several best-selling books and Bible studies, including Growing Slow and It's All Under Control. A former metro news reporter, Jennifer still loves to chase a great story. Her favorite one of all: the Good News of Jesus Christ. Jennifer and her husband live on the fifth-generation Lee family farm in Iowa, where they raise crops, pigs and two beautiful humans. While she enjoys speaking at women's conferences across the country, you can usually find her at the neighborhood country church on Sunday mornings. Jennifer loves queso, Netflix binges, and singing too loudly to songs with great harmony. Most of all, she loves God. Once upon a time, she didn't believe in Jesus; now He's her best friend and CEO.Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/podcast/holyhyggeSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
