His medium combines modular synthesis, acoustic instruments, field recordings, and deliberately crafted effect chains. He creates distinctive compositions that guide listeners through various emotional states. The "Impulse" album brings together ten tracks of experimental electronica: hypnotic synthesizer sequences, polyrhythmic structures, cinematic textures, and subtly shifting modulations blend into sonic landscapes where time becomes relative. The album's visual identity is based on the multidisciplinary neuro-performance "Impulse," created at the intersection of art and neurotechnology in collaboration with neurovisualization pioneers NeuroLab, digital art studio STAIN (working with algorithmic abstraction since 2009), and physical theatre project "Dancing in the Dark" — Russia's only company featuring visually impaired artists. During the performance, the brain activity of visually impaired dancers was captured in real-time via neurointerface and transformed into generative graphics. This visual content, born from electrical impulses of consciousness in moments of musical perception, became the foundation for the album's artwork — both static and motion graphics. Its central groove is direct and propulsive, though the track’s old-school Techno-soul edge stops it from feeling too clean or too linear. There’s a roughness to the movement that gives it some weight, with enough swing and pressure to hold attention without overplaying its hand. Lee Coombs’ two remixes take the same material in more specific directions. The Acid Mix strips things back into a darker, more dubbed-out framework, leaning into repetition, space and low-end tension rather than immediate release. It’s the version most clearly aimed at later hours, where atmosphere does as much work as momentum. The Classic Mix turns toward late-'80s warehouse house, pulling out a looser, more open kind of energy. It gestures toward that period’s rawness and uplift without sounding overly referential. Across the three versions, Tell Me sketches out a small but useful range: peak-time drive, heads-down pressure and a more classic warehouse swing. Two of the trio are gigging DJs, with club experience dating back to the nineties, and the other is a multi-instrumentalist and record producer of similar vintage. Over the years, however, the music made by this trio has taken on, at once, both a panoramic view of the electronic music landscape and a microscopic lens to the human condition affected by such music. At times there’s an almost dystopian air of dark claustrophobia about these tracks. Restless anxiety is evoked by eerie transformations of beats and bass, seemingly disjointed synth rhythms coalescing into ferocious grooves. But despite the darkness, you can never predict when it might pitch you into warm nostalgic reverie, or memories of more innocent times. How can this be? Maybe it’s because the music references the unexpected against a framework of the familiar. Abstract cinematic elements, suggesting an epic, even Brutalist, dimension, are woven into rhythms that fortify our frail and precious humanity. A pivotal figure in the Piedmont music scene, Lunardi was active both as a DJ and as the owner of several disco clubs. The label operated for several years in the latter half of the 1970s, releasing mainly productions connected to the Italian dance and pop scene. Since 2016, the original master tapes from the Voom Voom Music catalog have been owned by Gianluca Pandullo (I-Robots), a close friend of Ivo and Luca Lunardi. Through his labels Opilec Music and Turin Dancefloor Express, Pandullo oversees their preservation and historical enhancement. The artistic direction of Voom Voom Music was marked by a distinct sonic identity — eclectic yet visionary. The Turin-based label founded by Ivo Lunardi embraced a sound that blended disco, pop, and rock influences, interwoven with African American grooves in a pioneering, international perspective. Voom Voom Music was among the first Italian labels to introduce this kind of musical language in the country. A prime example is the Italian edition of the debut album by B.T. Express, Do It ('Til You're Satisfied), released in LP, 8-Track Cartridge, cassette, and 7" single formats. The label’s productions clearly reflected the influence of black and funk music, as evidenced by the references and inspirations running through its catalogue. The track “Lady Pick-Up”, for instance, includes direct nods to “Do It Good” by KC & The Sunshine Band and Manu Dibango’s iconic “Soul Makossa”, revealing a musically refined and contemporary sensibility. Among the label’s most representative works is Splash (1977) by the Stratosferic Band, a project conceived by Luigi Venegoni — producer, songwriter, and guitarist of Arti e Mestieri. Venegoni’s artistic journey spanned from progressive rock to space and Italo disco. The album artwork was designed by Piero D’Amore (1944 - 2022), a charismatic and multifaceted figure of Turin’s art scene (one of his works was even acquired by the MoMA in New York). The record includes a disco reinterpretation of Van Morrison’s classic “Gloria”, and “Splashdown”, a track fusing the disco-rock energy of Rockets and Space. In contrast, “Nowhere” revisits the 1975 single by Hokis Pokis, a soul/disco band from Nassau County (New York), transforming it into a vibrant disco-funk number. Another significant expression of the label’s catalogue is the afro-rock sound of M’Bamina, an Italo-Congolese group whose rhythmic energy and dialogue between African percussion and Western funk evoke the style of international formations such as Osibisa — themselves linked to a rich artistic history in Italy. A 6 track record that channels the hedonistic spirit of the late 80s and early 90s, a sound that has soundtracked endless summers drifting between sun-drenched euphoria and a more hypnotic late-night mindset. This record is the artists sonic postcard of Mediterranean bliss. "La Isla Selini" opens with playful charm, it's the carefree energy of a summer anthem reimagined through Maltitz’s uniquely sun-kissed lens. "Hot Summer 2023", co-produced with Selina, captures the hazy beauty of an afterhours in Ibiza. Strangely intimate warmth, dreamy focus and the lingering feeling of the first rays of light over the sea. Closing up the first half of the record "Valentines Island" drops into pure nostalgia, a 90s-style piano hymn built for timeless dancefloor moments you may or may not remember clearly. On the flip side Maltitz works it a little deeper, "Marabu Beach" and "Café Saganaki" reveal the club-driven core of the record. These tracks weave dub techno textures and echoes of 90s techno into the Balearic mist. To close things out we have a remix from NY Stomp, a fitting addition to the record who's inspiration now spans the Atlantic, their remix of "Wax n Tax" folds classic House muscle into Maltitz’s palette, trading seaside sway for sidewalk strut. Together, the tracks form a journey that feels both like a memory and a promise: the endless summer lives on. The journey begins with the "México Tour (Original Mix)", a cut purpose-built to scorch the dancefloor. It’s an energizing track powered by an electrifying bassline, distorted vocals, and a solid drum foundation accompanied by relentless, frenzied cowbells. The EP then takes a twisted detour via a remix from Duro’s co-head, Theus Mago. Known for his acid-laced house bombs and ability to "weird out" the dancefloor, the "México Tour (Theus Mago Remix)" features a playful bassline and percussions, complemented by melted melodies and a characteristic acid touch.
