Mother's Day Special

Nineveh responds with humility to Jonah's proclamation of God's truth (Jon 3:5). Even human authority (the king) submitted to God's message (Jon 3:6). Share God's Word with confidence; it reaches the high and low (Ps 138:6).

(Ps 116:12-14) Gratitude for God's immense provisions. Communion: God's grace provision for our salvation. Marriage is a binding relationship dissolved only by death (1 Cor 7:39) (exceptions discussed). Freedom to remarry after death exists, but remaining single is a beneficial option (1 Cor 7:40; Prov 3:5-6).

God restores believers to obedience (Jon 3:3). Move forward after failure. God uses willing believers (Jon 3:4). Proclaim truth publicly, guided by His Word (Ps 119:105).

Spiritual recovery and restoration begin with hearing God's Word (Jon 3:1). God uses restored believers for His purposes (Jon 3:2; Ps 143:10).

Every conversation and decision matters before God (Cor 3:17). God doesn't want to put a leash on you. He guides your decisions without removing freedom (1 Cor 7:35). Wisdom allows situational flexibility (like with marriage) (1 Cor 7:36; Ps 90:12).

Gratitude often follows recognition of God's rescue (Jon 2:9; Ps 3:8). God rules over creation (i.e., the fish) to accomplish His purposes (Jon 2:10).

(Ps 27:4) Stability through attention to the Lord. Marriage brings earthly responsibilities (1 Cor 7:33). Unmarried believers are responsible primarily to God (1 Cor 7:34). Both are honorable callings (Ps 73:25-26).

Human weakness prepares the heart for spiritual clarity (Jon 2:7). When facing anxiety, remember the Lord and pray (HCR). False solutions (idols) cannot replace God and His mercy (Jon 2:8; Ps 86:5).

(Rom 4:25) Jesus' death paid for all sins, while His resurrection provides the legal, righteous standing before God for believers. Comparison of cultural Easter with biblical Resurrection Day. (1 Cor 15:20).

What feels like restriction may become redirection (Jonah 2:5). God allows difficulty to expose human limitation. However, He remains present even in extreme distress (Jonah 2:6; Ps 40:1-2).

(Mt 21:9) Remembering Palm Sunday. Believers are in the world but not defined by it (1 Cor 7:31). Devotion to God provides stability regardless of marital status (1 Cor 7:32; Prov 4:25-27).

Divine discipline is purposeful and measured (Jon 2:3). Allow pressure to produce humility (Ps 42:7-8). Restored fellowship with God begins internally (Jon 2:4).

(Ps 90:12) Limitation of time produces renewed focus on serving God. Urgency of perspective. Whether married or not, prioritize the Lord. Make changes to your life —regardless of feelings — now, not later (1 Cor 7:29-30; Ps 39:4-5).

God uses pressure to redirect us. He meets us in the lowest places (Jon 2:1). The turning point occurs when we talk to Him (Jon 2:2; Ps 120:1).

(Ps 16:8) Keep the Lord, not circumstances, as your central focus. Changing marital status (married or single) won’t fix distress in your life (1 Cor 7:27). While not sinful, marriage brings earthly pressures (1 Cor 7:28). Contentment in one’s calling stabilizes the Christian life (Ps 37:3-4).

Divine provision often exists before the believer even realizes he needs it (Jon 1:17; Ps 69:1). Resurrection preview (Mt 12:40).

(Ps 37:3-5) Delighting and trusting in the Lord. Let mercy shape how you advise others in life circumstances (1 Cor 7:25). Distressinfluences prudence (1 Cor 7:26).

(Ps 47:1-7) Sing praises to our God. Communion: Remembering the significance of Passover. No matter where you are — married, unmarried, mixed marriage, considering divorce, slave/free — remaining with God is key (1 Cor 7:1-24).

God applies pressure to restore direction — and your correction may become someone else’s awakening. (Jonah 1:15-16)

(Ps 100:3) You belong to God. Be bound to Christ, not a slave of men (1 Cor 7:23). Contentment flows from union with Christ, not external circumstances (1 Cor 7:24; Ps 37:23-24).

(Jn 8:36) Freedom begins with Christ. Spiritual maturity is not dependent on ideal conditions (job, status, life) (1 Cor 7:21). A free person is Christ’s servant (1 Cor 7:22; Ps 116:16).

Pastor Freddy’s Grammatical Narrative Hermeneutical approach. Human solutions cannot neutralize divine discipline and may even intensify it (Jon 1:13). God uses discipline to reveal Himself to Jonah and pagan sailors (Jon 1:14).

(Ecc 3:1) God assigns seasons and timing. God grows you right where you are; faithfulness matters more than mobility (1 Cor 7:20; Ps 37:3).

Delayed obedience prolongs turmoil; God seeks to redirect, not destroy you (Jon 1:11). Admitting guilt is not the same asobedience; discipline ends when its purpose is met (Jon 1:12; Ps 32:3-5).

(Prov 28:9) Prayer from a rebellious believer is an abomination. Communion: Responding to our Father’s act of grace. Regarding circumcision, God calls for inner change, not religious appearance (1 Cor 7:19).

Spiritual language can mask drifting hearts (Jon 1:9). Private disobedience eventually becomes public consequence (Jon 1:10). Escape from God is impossible (Ps 139:7).

Paul instructs believers to live according to the situation the Lord has assigned them, emphasizing that their calling is more important than their social or physical status (1 Cor 7:17). He advises that one should not seek to change their circumstances—such as circumcision status—upon becoming a Christian, focusing instead on keeping God's commands (1 Cor 7:18).

Private disobedience cannot remain concealed (Jon 1:7-8). God seeks to restore, not destroy (Ps 107:28-30). Take responsibility for spiritual drift quickly.

(Prov 16:9) Faith guides volition. How to respond to desertion by an unbelieving spouse. God permits peaceful release, not coerced bondage (1 Cor 7:15). Outcome rests with God’s plan, not human effort (1 Cor 7:16). Stand in peace, not panic (Ps 34:14).

Fear or disengagement can easily become your response to a crisis (Jon 1:5). Spiritual sleep is often easier than repentance. Divine confrontation often precedes restoration (Jon 1:6: Ps 107:28-30).

(Rom 12:18) Live peaceably with all men, including spouse. Marriage to an unbeliever is not grounds for divorce (1 Cor 7:13). One believer can influence the entire family: blessing by association (1 Cor 7:14; Ps 128:3).

Grammatical Narrative Hermeneutics (GNH) vs. Focused Grammatical Exegesis (FGE). Disobedience often feels calm at first, because it feels controlled (Jon 1:3). God lovingly intervenes to interrupt a believer’s rebellion (Jon 1:4; Ps 107:29).

(Rom 12:1) The life of a believer is a living sacrifice. Communion: A quiet reverent reminder of what Jesus accomplished. Don’t let the world press you into its mold (Rom 12:2). God’s Word brings understanding (Ps 119:130).

(Ps 46:10) Stillness is often the most spiritual decision before a new beginning. New Year isn’t about escaping problems, but seeking spiritual truth. Regarding divorce, God points toward repair, not escape (1 Cor 7:11-12; Ps 37:7).

(Is 9:6) Christ truly entered human history. Comparing cultural Christmas to Biblical Christmas. Santa evaluates worth. Jesus gives worth (Lk 2:10-11).

Explanation of the hermeneutical approach to Jonah. Spiritual conflict often follows clear revelation (Jon 1:1). Agreement with God is not the same as obedience (Jon 1:2). God's purpose is global (Ps 67:2-3, 6-7).

(Mal 3:1) Preparing for the arrival of the Lord. God provides marriage to help us control desire (1 Cor 7:9). Separation is prohibited as the default response to problems (1 Cor 7:10). Obedience brings stability (Ps 128:1-4).

Our identity in Christ is in contrast to the world system (1 Jn 5:19). Find the truth revealed through Christ (1 Jn 5:20), and keep yourself from idols (1 Jn 5:21; Ps 73:25-26).

(Prov 16:32) True strength is to control your emotions. Communion: Jesus paid it all. Spiritual gifts in singleness and marriage (1 Cor 7:7). Singleness is permitted, not imposed (1 Cor 7:8). Trust God’s grace for your current condition (Ps 32:8-9).

God applies temporal correction to restore believers (1 Jn 5:17). Rest in God’s keeping and protection from the wicked one (1 Jn 5:18). Confession restores closeness and strength (Ps 32:3-5). Sins leading to death.

(Prov 25:28) Wisdom governs good decisions. Temporary abstinence in marriage is permitted only by mutual agreement for spiritual focus (1 Cor 7:5-6). God guides people relationally (Ps 32:8-9).

Because He hears, we know prayer requests are already in His hands (1 Jn 5:15). Believers are responsible to intercede for one another. Sin in the Christian life can lead to severe discipline, even death (1 Jn 5:16).

Marriage rests on mutual responsibility (1 Cor 7:3). Intimacy is meant for mutual blessing (1 Cor 7:4). Practice intentional purity and faithfulness (Ps 101:3).

Assurance of salvation (1 Jn 5:13) leads to confidence in prayer (1 Jn 5:14; Ps 34:4).

(Ps 119:11) The importance of internalizing Scripture. Scripture gives space for both singleness and marriage under grace (1 Cor 7:1). Faithfulness in marriage serves as a guardrail against temptation (1 Cor 7:2: Ps 119:37).

Eternal life was given in the past, but it’s effective forever (Ps 36:9). The quality of that life is dependent upon your ongoingrelationship with God (1 John 5:11-12).

(Ps 139:23-24) Request for divine examination. Communion. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19). Therefore, glorify God in your body to honor Christ’s sacrifice for you (1 Cor 6:20).

God’s testimony of His Son is a record that stands permanently (1 Jn 5:9; Ps 19:7-9). We make God a liar when we reject this truth (1 Jn 5:10).

The timeless truths of the Trinity (1 Jn 5:7). Honor the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit distinctly yet as one. Share Christ with confidence, knowing the Trinity supports you (1 Jn 5:8; Ps 19:7-9).
