    Made Alive for More

What if the questions you are already asking are the very places where Jesus wants to meet you? This spring at New City, we are beginning a new series called Living the Jesus Way. Starting on Easter Sunday and continuing through the end of May, we will explore what it means to live as a resurrection-shaped people. This is not only about what we believe. It is about how we live, how we relate to one another, and how we show up in the world. Each week, we will center on a question that many of us wrestle with, whether we have followed Jesus for years or are still exploring faith:Is there any real hope for my life? (Luke 24:1–12)Where is Jesus when I don’t see Him? (Luke 24:13–35)How do I actually change? (Acts 1:1–8)Where do I really belong? (Acts 2:42–47)Can I trust God with my life and resources? (2 Corinthians 9:6–11)Does my life actually make a difference? (Matthew 5:13–16)What kind of life is God inviting me into? (Acts 2:1–21)How do I keep living this way? (Galatians 5:16–25)

    The Cost of the Cross

What if the wilderness is not something to escape, but a place God uses to reshape us?This Lent at New City Covenant Church, we are entering a season called Into the Wilderness, a shared journey shaped by surrender, testing, and grace. Lent slows us down and asks honest questions about what we rely on, what we hunger for, and who we are becoming. Week by week, we will listen to the Biblical story as God forms us by exploring themes of daily dependence, lament, costly discipleship, and resilient hope. Along the way, we will discover that the wilderness is not a sign of failure or abandonment, but a place where God meets us with truth, mercy, and new life. Join us this Lent as we step intentionally into the wilderness, making space for repentance, renewal, and a deeper trust in the God who reshapes us before leading us toward resurrection.

    Testimony Sunday (Abide Series Wrap-Up)

A new year often brings a desire for change. We think about goals, habits, and fresh starts. Before we decide what we will do differently, Scripture invites us to consider who we will remain connected to. Abide is a four-week journey through the letters of 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John, centered on Jesus’ invitation to stay rooted in him. As we begin the year together, this series will explore what it means to live from God’s love, walk in truth, and remain faithful in everyday life. This is not a call to strive harder, but an invitation to start the year grounded in the steady presence of Christ.

Hope You Can Hold On To

At New City, hospitality and table fellowship are core to our identity. This video captures our community coming together to live out those values through a special Thanksgiving meal we hosted after service on November 23. What’s normally our weekly Soul Food gathering became an expanded celebration—an opportunity to welcome others, build authentic relationships, love our neighbors, and share a traditional Thanksgiving meal together. Enjoy this look back at a beautiful expression of community and the heart of Jesus at work around the table.

The Four Marks of Gospel-Shaped Giving

You are invited to join us for our New City sermon series, The Economy of Generosity, a four-week exploration of how the Bible connects generosity and gratitude. In a world that often tells us to hold tightly to what we have, Jesus invites us to live with open hands and thankful hearts. Together, we will discover how true generosity flows from a life inspired by Christ, one that trusts God’s provision, shares His goodness, and reflects His love to the world. Come and be inspired to find and follow Jesus in the way you give, serve, and live.

    Practicing Solidarity

We live in a divided time. Conversations about race, power, and justice often generate more fear than faith. But Jesus paints a different picture: a multiethnic, reconciled, Spirit-filled community that looks like heaven breaking into earth. This fall, we invite you into a seven-week journey called Becoming a Beloved Community. Rooted in Scripture and centered on Christ, this series will explore how the church can resist cultural polarization and live into God’s kingdom dream—where walls fall, wounds heal, and every tribe, tongue, and nation worship as one.

Follow the Spirit – Turning Toward the Light

We’ve entered a beautiful and powerful season on the church calendar called Eastertide—the weeks following Easter Sunday that focus on how the resurrection of Jesus impacts and transforms our daily lives. This season continues until the Day of Pentecost on June 8.To mark this season, we're launching a brand new mini-series: Prepare to Flourish. This phrase carries two powerful meanings for us:1. “Prepare to Flourish” is our church’s 2025 Thematic Goal, guiding us toward spiritual growth and bold living.2. It’s a response to the Easter challenge—to stop living a safe life and start living a flourishing one.But what does it actually mean to flourish? And how do we prepare for that kind of life?Join us as we explore what it means to live fully alive in light of the resurrection.
