Ways to pray for our young people

There is a cry going out in this world right now. It’s constant. It’s urgent. It never stops. But most people don’t hear it. Not because it’s quiet, but because they’re not listening.

Every disciple of Christ is an ambassador for Christ.

Disciples of Jesus prepare themselves for the return of Jesus.

We’re going to look tonight at parts of 2 Kings 3, 4, 5. In these chapters we’ll see some sharp contrasts I’m calling mountain and valley contrasts.

As Jesus bore the curse for our sin, He declared, “It is finished.” What did He mean—and what was finished for us?

Our goal tonight is to understand the joy of the Lord and see what we need to do to fight for it in our lives.

Part of the problem with fasting is many people have unanswered questions about fasting. Can I eat at all? Can I drink water? What does fasting do? What I want to do tonight is answer some of the common questions we may have about fasting.

Our relationship with Jesus changes our relationship with others.

Purity is always God's will

Spiritual growth requires specific, surrendered prayer.

In God’s Word, blessing someone in God’s name is weighty and significant. It’s something intentionally connected to God’s promises, God’s character, and God’s actions in the world. When God’s people spoke blessing in God’s Word, they weren’t just saying nice words. They were expressing real faith God would do what He had said He would do.

A godly Gospel influence can make an eternal difference.

A living faith shows signs of life.

Effort without affection leads to exhaustion.

God shows us two kinds of people, two ways of living, and two very different divine responses.

It takes intentional, disciplined, Spirit empowered effort to get out of a spiritual rut.

How can we speak a good word to sustain the weary and encourage and build one another up?

The Gospel builds a triumphant faith

Solomon knows eternal realities impact here and now. He also wants us to live here and now knowing the eternal implications of our lives.

A strong church has strong fellowship.

Solomon wants us to understand the primary discipline and correction we must respond to is the discipline and correction of God Himself.

Experiencing the potential and possibilities of the new year is a matter of focus.

Everyone responds to Jesus but not everyone responds correctly.

The war on Christmas flows from Satan’s rebellion against God and His Christ.

Costly commitment to Jesus is formed by the Word, strengthened by the church, and proven in opposition.

So tonight, I want to help us see what divine appointments are, why they matter, how they worked in God’s Word, and how we can pray for more of them this Christmas season—when hearts are softer, conversations are deeper, and Jesus is already part of the cultural moment.

We live in a world overflowing with information but starving for wisdom. You can Google your way to knowledge, but you can’t Google your way to wisdom. The difference is simple: knowledge fills the mind; wisdom shapes the life.

Every disciple of Jesus should be an example worth imitating.

From Genesis to Revelation, God’s Word is about Jesus. While this is the case, and has always been the case, it takes help for us to see this.

The author of Hebrews tells us to remember those who are imprisoned for Jesus as though we are imprisoned with them. We are to remember those who are suffering for the sake of Jesus as though we are suffering with them. Today I want to give us three reasons why we remember the persecuted.

We must choose wisdom to be wise.

The God who loves us and chose us will never give up on us.

True happiness is found in daily, eager obedience to God’s wisdom.

A strong church is not built on human effort but on Christ-centered transformation.

Spiritual darkness is no match for the light of Jesus.

God’s wisdom is public, precious, and personal — calling us to listen, love, and live by His truth.

We must explicitly proclaim the Gospel.

Lamenting turns us to God when sorrow would turn us from God.

Jesus liberates His disciples from slavery to sin.
