With all the news circling around the Iran war there's a lot of debate or questions as to who’s in charge around here?  Trump or the fifth string Mullahs… and with that…people always want to jump to the end of days discussion.A few days back, the verse of the day on the My Bible App featured Mark 13:30 where Jesus said “truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away” before Jesus comes back at end times.Did Jesus get it wrong?  What generation is he referring to?I found a great article online by Dr John Oakes who wrote a piece in Bible Interpretation which was posted on July 12, 2022.Dr Oakes opens up his article with this intro.  Mark 13:30 has bugged me for some time now. For context, in chapter 13 Jesus predicts the Temple’s destruction, then lists events that signal the end times, saying, “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” (NIV)  This version, according to Oakes, assumes Jesus was speaking directly to the people alive during the end times.  To which I say, “whose end times?  Theirs or ours.”  We have nations at war with one another just like they did in Jesus’ day.Did Jesus make a mistake? Am I wrong to have doubts? Is this faith-shattering? Thankfully Oakes has an answer for us to consider that has context and logic, so let’s take a look at it.Here’s his answer.If we look at Mark 13, but perhaps even more importantly, at Matthew 24, Jesus is prophesying concerning two different events.  The prophecies cover the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, (AD meaning After Death of Christ), and also the second coming of Christ.  For example, Matthew 24:15-21 is clearly and, I would say, unambiguously a prophecy concerning the coming destruction of Jerusalem under Titus in AD 70.  In fact, Eusebius tells us that the Christian church did indeed flee to Pella at the time of the siege of Jerusalem, escaping the coming judgment on the Jews who had rejected their Messiah. They did so because they understood Jesus to be talking about the events of AD 68-70.  The abomination of desolation is a reference back to Daniel and Daniel 8 and the desecration of the temple in 167 BC, but it is also a prophecy of the abomination and the desecration of the temple by Titus when he offered pagan sacrifice to the god of Rome right on the temple site.So, when Jesus says that the current generation would not all pass away before the events are fulfilled, he is referring to the destruction of Jerusalem, which happened almost exactly forty years after Jesus spoke those words.  Take a look at Matthew 24: 1-14.  If we are being honest and know our bible…these signs that Christ mentions were happening during his day and they are no doubt happening in our generation.  In fact, all generations since Christ coming the first time, have witnessed wars and rumors of wars.  Nations have been fighting nations since the beginning of time.  There have been many “various places” of famines and earthquakes…”but these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.”There will be tribulation, all that follow Christ will be hated by many because of his name.  Many will fall away from the faith, betray one another and hate one another.  Because lawlessness is increasing, most people’s love will grow cold.Verse 13.  BUT!  The one who endures to the end, he will be saved.  This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations….THEN the end will come.Nonetheless I was able to walk away with a logical understanding with context that defined the generation he was addressing, Jesus’ generation.  Or did I?  Isn’t it possible that our generation, this generation, your generation is witnessing biblical events today, all of Send us Fan Mail

LIFE IS A PARTY and Your INVITED.The password to attend is GRACE.In Luke 14: 15-24 there's a parable about a man who planned a large banquet and sent out invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to contact each of the invited guests, telling them that all was ready and the meal was about to start (verses 16-17). One after another, the guests made excuses for not coming. When the master of the house heard these excuses, he was angry. He told his servant to forget the guest list and go into the back streets and alleyways of the town and invite “the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame” (verse 21). Jesus ends the parable by relating the master’s determination that “not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet” (verse 24).The statement that prompted the parable is key. The man who, in verse 15, looks forward to dining in the Messianic kingdom probably subscribed to the popular notion that only Jews would be part of that kingdom. The parable Jesus tells is aimed at debunking that notion, as the following explanation makes clear:The master of the house is God, and the great banquet is the kingdom, a metaphor that was suggested by the speaker at the table. The invited guests picture the Jewish nation. The kingdom was prepared for them, but when Jesus came preaching that “the kingdom of heaven is near” (Matthew 4:17), He was rejected. “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him” (John 1:11). The excuses for skipping the banquet are laughably bad.  The interpretation is that the Jews of Jesus’ day had no valid excuse for spurning Jesus’ message; in fact, they had every reason to accept Him as their Messiah.The detail that the invitation is opened up to society’s maimed and downtrodden is important. These were the types of people that the Pharisees considered “unclean” and under God’s curse (cf. John 9:1-2, 34). Jesus, however, taught that the kingdom was available even to those considered “unclean” (cf. Acts 10). Those who ignored the invitation to the banquet chose their own punishment—they missed out. The master respects their choice by making it permanent: they would not “taste of my banquet.” So it will be with God’s judgment on those who choose to reject Christ: they will have their choice confirmed, and they will never taste the joys of heaven.The basic message of the Parable of the Great Banquet could be stated this way: The blessings of the kingdom are available to all who will come to Christ by faith.The inclusion of the Gentiles is a fulfillment of Hosea 2:23, “I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’; and they will say, ‘You are my God.’” God is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9), and “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).John 10:10 …. Today, we are going to examine what was happening AFTER the crucifixion and resurrection.  What did the next 40 days look like?What were the emotions, thoughts and questions whirling around in the heads of Christ followers, as well as the onlookers, the Pharisees and politicians?No doubt, the weeks following Jesus’ triumphant entry, his arrest, the trials, verdict, and his mysterious resurrection three days post, was filled with many opposing emotions.For Mary, Martha, Lazarus and all the apostles and witnesses present at the rising of Lazarus from the dead, just hours from Passover commencing, the emotions would have moved from deep sadness to jubilant amazement.Jesus had now been arrested and was standing trial.  Surely there was much hope that he would prevail…after all He was the great orator, story teller, wise and able to reach the souls of men in debate…He would convince the powers to yield and surrender!Meeting with Pontius Pilate, the Sadducees and Pharisees HE would prove his case!  The teachings, the healings and miracles would prove He IS who He says He is.  But the initial meeting turned to trials…ridicule, mockery, lashings, denial and silence from his followers (Peter being the first to deny knowing or testifying on Jesus’ behalf.)Even Pilate found no crime in Jesus and gave the people an option.  Jesus or Barabbas?  “Give us Barabbas” they cried!  “Crucify him” they demanded! ( John 18:35, 37-40 ). Hope was vanquished, taken over by despair, fear of what may come next for those that associated with him…and then the crucifixion! It was official.  It was finished!  Their messiah was not what they had expected.  Rejection, abandonment, confusion, regret maybe for the time they had spent following him.What was Saturday like for his followers?  Lots of questions maybe along with many tears.  All seemed lost!  Whatever each imagined would happen last week was now dashed…a painful memory of what “could have been.”But on Sunday Mary delivers the message…the tomb is empty!!  He is risen!  He’s meeting us here tonight!!  Surely the disciples thought she was delusional, had snapped and deeply overcome with denial!  Emotions, questions, and previously held belief in his promises and messages were suspect.  Confusion, debate, anger, what next (can I get my boat back, my nets back?), 3 years of lost income…and for what?What happened that evening?  Jesus appeared to those in the upper room.  This was their first manifestation of Jesus post his crucifixion. But Thomas wasn’t there, so Jesus came by again…eight days later!  This was their second manifestation of Christ.In Acts 2:40-41 we read:  “And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.”So to those listening that have also shared similar emotions…doubts, fears, disbeliefs, confusion, anxiety, anger or had questions like those we’ve presented we are encouraging you to do this:Accept that Emotions are naturalPonder them deeply, identify why you are having themThey may be leading you to deeper revelationConsider the testimonies of those that believe and are following Christ teachingsListen to your heart as you examine them for truthTruth that stirs your heart is the voice of the Holy Spirit, the voice of GodIt may come with discomfort but if it speaks true to your heart, listenAnd when you finally accept what is revealed to you, accept Gods grace…forgive yourself and begin a new with Christ at your sideSend us Fan Mail

Join us today as we explore Ezekiel 34 and the fall of God's Shepherds of old, and ponder who and where are the Shepherds of today.Marks going to walk us through a discussion that will lead us to find the Shepherds, the David's and the Warriors for Gods people today.In preparation for Marks study, I referred to Siri for a few commentaries on the book of Ezekiel.  I found an article by Jon English Lee helpful.  He serves as Academic Dean and Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary"By way of set up, Ezekiel is working at this point in Israel’s history after the kingdom had been split.  If you will remember, King David was ruling, then king Solomon.  But after Solomon the kingdom splits between the north and the south. And eventually, because of their sin and their unwillingness to obey the word of God, the kingdoms were conquered and taken into exile.""It is during Ezekiel’s life that the southern kingdom, called Judah, was defeated by Babylon and taken into exile. Ezekiel himself was carried off, and appears to have settled with a colony of Jewish captives in Babylon. Indeed, the theme of exile is all over this book.""This first section begins very bluntly with an indictment of the shepherds of Israel. Because the people of God in the old covenant were both a religious group and a political nation, the category of shepherds of Israel would have included both religious leaders and political leaders. Priests and kings, Levites and magistrates."I proposed to Mark that most folks can guess who our political leaders are today, but identifying the Shepherds might be problematic.Which religion would we default to as the one with voice and influence that could reach all faiths and denominations?Send us Fan Mail

Join Mark and I today as we make the case for justice and accountability.  It's time to hold some folks to account.  If not, the mid-terms could hijack the Golden Age and MAGA's momentum.The left remain hell bent to distract away from the massive accomplishments all Americans have benefited from since Trump took office, and they can't have that.  Distractions, Government shutdowns, and Chaos that divides are concussion grenades that seem to work for them.Serious accountability to corruption and fraud is the only answer.  The coverups must be uncovered and the guilty must go to jail.Members of both parties are clamoring for justice for Epstein’s victims, with many lawmakers counting on the release of the DOJ’s Epstein files to reveal more information about who should be implicated in wrongdoing. I think it’s funny that no one was clambering over these files during Biden’s presidency.  This is one of many chaos driven concussion grenades the left likes to use to simply cause a distraction.   After being repeatedly criticized for allegedly weaponizing the Department of Justice in the Epstein case, violating the rights of victims set by the Epstein Files Transparency Act and intentionally obscuring the names of co-conspirators in the files, Bondi was summoned for a House Judiciary Committee oversight hearing on February 11, 2026. Mark and I agree.  Remove all the redactions and release the entire file to the world.  Let the guilty be exposed.  Until this "conspiracy" is fully released without redactions, this will only distract from the many great accomplishments Trump continues to deliver.  In other News:Trump and Lee Zeldin, the EPA Secretary, trashed Obamas “Environmental findings” gutting environmental regulations for all mobile industry.  Saving of $1.4 trillion.Government shut down again last night over ICE funding.  The left fail to realize that ICE has already been funded through next year from the big beautiful bill.  Concussion grenade and chaos.Washington Post laid off 1/3 of its staff.Raugh, the would be assassin at Trumps golf course was sentenced to life in prison.Allegations of fraud in MN is now estimated to be nearing $30 Billion…in MN alone!Bret Stephens an opinion writer for the New York Times had a piece Tuesday that asked the question…”Will Newsom be the democrats next mistake?”  Here’s a quick list of the governors  contributions to California and his list of qualified failures as to why he shouldn’t even run for President.California ranks dead last in a recent study stating that it is not affordable for the middle class.  One in six Californians live in poverty.  The average income of the top 5% Is $600,000 higher than the bottom 20%.California accounts for nearly HALF of the Homelessness in the entire country.  The $24 billion allocated to address homelessness is no where to be found.1.3 million left, quit, and departed California between April 2020 and July 2025.California's education k-12 ranks #38 in US behind Mississippi and Louisiana.California’s $128 Billion High-Speed Rail –better known as the slow rail to nowhere.  Initially thought to cost 33 billion when complete… never left the station… the money did but not the train.America can't afford another corrupt politician to be in consideration.  We need to retain the House and the Senate this November.  There is so much to do and Trumps  current team has the integrity of character to deliver.Todays featured musical guest:  Martina McBride - Independence DaySend us Fan Mail

The Nancy’s and the Bernie’s stayed in power way too long and failed to bring up a second or even a third generation of thinkers, orators, persuasive personalities that were capable of leadership.It’s unclear who is leading the “counter to everything” movement for the left.  The old guard for the most part has shrunken back into the shadows of old age and tired ideas.  Their once hopeful replacements have proven to be weak, underwhelming, Parrots of rhetoric that no one believes anymore.  Kamala’s word salad comes to mind, the Waltz knucklehead show, and the Newsom Nonsense come to mind.  These are not the future of the Democrat party.It’s the younger, far left “pop gunners” that have emerged…the squadters, AOC, Mondomie, Crockett, and the like.  These are the ones that understand social media and the message that social media users want to hear.  You’re a victim.  You deserve a participation trophy.  We will tax the rich and distribute some of it to you serfs.  You also deserve free stuff.  Lots of free stuff.  We’ll get that for you.But for the record, there is another emerging movement that could even take over the younger new elites.  It’s the Anarchist.  The currently unmasked puppeteer (s) behind social media and crowd sourcing that are effecting change and promoting propaganda.  Think about that.  Our country is being hijacked by the left and the lefts leadership is exploiting the dumbest of their ranks to protest and usher in the chaos they seek.Greed and self preservation is the core demise of American leadership. Today Dave tells a story about how he and his wife "walked through Christmas" and opted not "to run through it."As long as we are pondering things, have you ever considered how challenging it is to prepare a show about Christmas and the meaning of Christmas…knowing that in nearly half of the countries that this show is heard in…the religious majority doesn’t even share my beliefs.  Mainline old school Jews don’t recognize Jesus as the Christ or the Messiah, like I do, and nearly all Muslims do not believe in Jesus the Redeemer.  They apparently do not need a redeemer.  Yet here I am, trying to help you see the face of Christ through my story above about reflection during preparation.Nations that don’t celebrate Christmas like so many do, lack only one thing, a Redeemer.  They celebrate family, they celebrate life, marriage, faith in something, even God, but by differing attributes…but they don’t see Christ in Christmas.  Why is that?“Why do we try so hard to fit in, when we were born to stand out.”  To stand out and apart from the others, by definition makes us a “remnant.”I’m going to attempt to show you Christ this Christmas using this one word…remnant.Worldly definition:  A Remnant - a small surviving group, remaining, leftovers, residueNow let’s take a look at the word thru the lens of Christ…using a Biblical definition:In the Bible, a remnant refers to the faithful, (something of worth) surviving portion of God's people (something very rare) left after judgment, something precious enough to be preserved by divine grace for a redemptive purpose, serving as a "holy seed" for renewal, a concept that expands from literal survivors in Israel to include both Jews and Gentiles who accept Christ, forming a spiritual Israel.  So if you’ve been joining us the past few weeks, we took a little off road excursion and turned up the mountain to inquire about angels.  In episode 279 we took a look at why are there some many references in the Bible about angels visiting God’s people and what could we learn from what they were told.  Why do scholars refer to these events as ordinary angelic messengers?  If they are so ordinary, why don’t we hear more about these encounters today?In last weeks show, I dug a little deeper and opted to take a look at some of the attributes of these angelic messengers…with the hope that maybe, after studying “the messenger process”, I might better understand how to engage with an angel when it’s my turn.  If you missed these two shows, I recommend you go back and listen to them.  Not only are the visits bizarre in many respects, they are EPIC…and I tried my best to bring that home in pondering each event.Okay, so last week I heard from a faithful listener who wanted to remind me that angels are indeed all around us…today.  He sited Hebrews 13:2.  “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.”  I concur with Mack and his reminder and thought it worth sharing.The Bible differentiates between the Holy Spirit and angels of the Lord primarily by establishing that the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity, while angels are created, ministering spirits. Deity vs. Created Being: The fundamental distinction is that the Holy Spirit is part of the Godhead and possesses all divine attributes (omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence). Angels, though powerful spiritual beings, are created by God and are not divine.Indwelling Presence vs. External Action: The Holy Spirit works within believers, providing a permanent presence, conviction, and guidance. Angels, by contrast, generally operate externally, appearing to people to deliver specific messages or provide temporary assistance in specific situations.Function: Angels are primarily messengers and servants who carry out God's commands in the physical world. The Holy Spirit has a more intimate role in the life of a Christian, serving as a helper, comforter, and the source of spiritual growth and gifts. According to the late Billy Graham, “The Holy Spirit illuminates the minds of people, makes us yearn for God, and takes spiritual truth and makes it understandable to us.”The Holy Spirit IS WHO Christ left behind for us to accept when he departed for Heaven.  The Bible tells us that THIS VERY SAME SPIRIT THAT RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD, DWELLS IN US.  Romans 8:11.We need Him in our life as a conduit to become who God created us to be, and through His power we have aid in all situations. Last week's show was all about sharing that angels DID speak to regular folks back in Bible times and I asked why don’t they do that today?  DO angels speak to folks today and if they do how would I recognize their voice?  Do they all sound the same?  Do all angels have the same manner of communicating their message?   Do they have different gifts or specialties?What are some of the attributes of angels and what can we learn from the angelic encounters we covered last week?Let’s start with the Hagar story in Genesis 21:12-13. This is the Abraham, Sarah and Hagar story.  God is speaking to Abraham, and says “Do not be distressed because of the lad and your maid; whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her, (well lookie there…fellas…listen to your wives).Genesis 16:11-12: we learn that an angel of the Lord can see the unborn and can see what their destiny is.  Check this out.“The angel of the Lord said to her (Hagar), “Behold, you are with child, And you will bear a son; And you shall call his name Ishmael, Because the Lord has given heed to your affliction. He will be a wild donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone’s hand will be against him; And he will live to the east of all his brothers.””Here’s a bonus observation.  Even tho Hagar felt rejected, abandoned, mistreated and castoff, God blessed her and gave Ishmael his own nation.Let’s take a look at Gideons Encounter:From my perspective, it proved to be rather comical and unsuspecting.  It was conversational over lunch vs a booming voice from Heaven like Hagar’s encounter.Read Judges 6:12-15, 17, 20-21.  Then read Judges 6:36-40 “Then Gideon said to God, “If You will deliver Israel through me, as You have spoken, behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I will know that You will deliver Israel through me, as You have spoken.” And it was so. When he arose early the next morning and squeezed the fleece, he drained the dew from the fleece, a bowl full of water. Then Gideon said to God, “Do not let Your anger burn against me that I may speak once more; please let me make a test once more with the fleece, let it now be dry only on the fleece, and let there be dew on all the ground.” God did so that night; for it was dry only on the fleece, and dew was on all the ground.”Hezekiah's Prayer for DeliveranceHighlights of Hezekiah’s encounter:  Hezekiah brought receipts; he told God to read it and he did.  His angel was an angel of action…deployed by God…no interaction with Hezekiah directly.  His angel killed 185,000 Assyrians over night.Read Isiah 37:14-20 and Isaiah 37:33-3636 And the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these (the 185,000) were all dead bodies.Daniel had multiple encounters with angels.  Daniel’s angel had a name.  He explained why he was delayed in delivering the message, he was fighting principalities and preparing for the next spiritual battle.  In Chapter 8, a voice commands Gabriel to explain a vision to Daniel.  In Chapter 9, while Daniel is praying, Gabriel comes to him to deliver a divine message and explain why it took so long for the answer to arrive, due to a spiritual conflict with the "prince of Persia". In Daniel’s case…Gabriel left the battlefield above Persia to deliver the Gods answer to Daniel’s prayer.  Daniel’s Angel was at war  against principalities / countries (Persia); they have back up; this stuff is way over our heads … but here’s what I do know…if you have a need to know…you’ll know. Send us Fan Mail

 Can you read the signs of our times today?  In the midst of the tear-gas can you see the chaos building?  Have you seen the polls that suggest murdering political opponents is considered acceptable?  Have you heard that there is a price or rewards offered for causing trouble? But on the other side of the street, you hear stories about revivals cropping up everywhere, from Australia to the UK.  Turning Point USA now has over 130,000 campus chapter requests to fulfill.  Meet me at the Water is baptizing folks by the thousands according to some reports. Something is happening!The bible verse that most directly discusses reading the signs of the times is Matthew 16:3, where Jesus rebukes the Pharisees and Sadducees for being able to predict the weather but not to interpret the spiritual and historical signs of their generation. At the end of last weeks show, I mentioned that the phrase “an Angel of the Lord spoke” was mentioned 59 times in the Bible.   Both Mark and I thought that was a pretty significant number of mentions.  So I decided to do a deeper dive into this topic using AI as my search agent.Here's a few references.Exodus 3:2: "And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush."Genesis 16:1-13, 21:9-19 -- The angel of the Lord, Hagar, and her sonGenesis 22:9-18 -- The angel of the Lord, Abraham, and IsaacJudges 2:1-5 -- The angel of the Lord rebukes Israel.Judges 6:11-24 -- The angel of the Lord and Gideon1 Kings 19:1-8 -- The angel of the Lord strengthens Elijah before his long journey.2 Kings 1:1-17 -- The angel of the Lord instructs Elijah what to say to king Ahaziah.    1 Chronicles 21:1-27 -- The angel of the Lord comes to destroy Jerusalem Zechariah 1:7-13 -- The angel of the Lord mediates between God and Jerusalem.The Greek phrase angelos kuriou (angel of the Lord) is found in the New Testament, but these passages are generally understood to refer to ordinary angelic messengers, not the divine figure from the Old Testament. Would you consider a word or visit from an angelic messenger ORDINARY?  Me neither!  I am more moved by the fact that Angels Spoke to people just like you and me.  Whether they were “ordinary angelic messengers" or the pre-incarnate appearance of Christ, to me is NOT THE POINT.  The most significant point that we need to ponder here is…DID WE LISTEN TO THE VOICE AND DO WHAT IT SAID? Which begs the question…What is the Angel of Lord saying to us today?  What is He telling you?  What is the Angel of the Lord saying to ALL THOSE THAT WILL LISTEN, WHO ARE CALLED BY HIS NAME.I don’t know where you sit on this front, but I for one believe that when an “ordinary” or an unordinary angelic messenger speaks” we need to be listening with all our senses and willing to do whatever were asked to do.Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever suggested a "course correction" to God? Today Mark will share a passage of scriptures in Matthew 16 where Peter tries to do just that, course-correct Jesus.  Jesus had just given Peter the keys to the kingdom, because Peter correctly answered the question "whom do people say I am?"   But just five verses later, Jesus calls Peter Satan.  Same conversation, same day.  Why?     When Jesus starts to explain His mission of suffering and death, Peter interrupts and says, "God forbid it.  This will never happen to You."  He tries to course-correct God Himself.  He's basically saying, "Jesus, your plan sucks, I know a better way."  Now, from our point of view, Peter wasn't being evil, he was being logical.  He wasn't being rebellious, he was being protective.  He wasn't trying to destroy a plan, he was trying to help.  But Satan's best work is often wrapped with good intentions.  Think about it.  Our procrastination can be disguised as the good intention of "waiting for the perfect moment."  Our forgiveness is delayed because "I'm protecting myself from hurt."  Our compromise is hidden under "trying to keep the peace." Each excuse sounds noble, but it stinks of sulfur.  The real scandal is that Jesus knew Peter would stumble again; deny Him 3 times, abandon Him at the cross, run and hide after the resurrection.  But Jesus chose him anyway because broken leaders are better than perfect ones.  Born again rebels make the fiercest warriors.  Former "satans" can spot deception faster than perpetual saints. Peter's failures became his greatest credentials.  He realized his "satan moments," when he doubted God, became spiritual foolishness.   So, when we try to edit or change God's plan, remember: we're not being wise, we're being Peter at his worst.  We're being exactly what Jesus exposed.  The difference between satan and saint is to completely surrender to God's plan.  Don't try to help it along.  Don't think you know better.  Just surrender and follow.  Send us Fan Mail

We closed last weeks  show promising to bring solutions for going forward.  And that’s what today’s show is all about.   Our Premise:  Reprimands have not proven to be a deterrent.  Serious consequences and pro-active common sense actions are.  Most of these ideas or solutions are actions We The People can do.  Not everything can be delegated to the government.-  The case for free speech, civil discourse and rationale debate works for those that are NOT lost…just confused.  Those that are “to far radical left” aren’t deaf.  They have heard the arguments.  They have simply chosen to stand with and identify as son and daughters of Satan. - Until regretting Trans people (who have turned back to their God given gender) stand up to tell others to NOT make the mistakes they did, straight people will not be effective in moving minds.  We need to encourage those that have turned back to stand up and step out.  They need to share their stories on the news, on social media and TicTok.  Maybe TPUSA, Churches and Government agencies can identify them and support them in creating these video messages to the Trans community.-  Mental Health institutions need to be brought back, but not as lockup insane asylums, but rehabilitation facilities to help the troubled de-brainwash, discover the root causes of their gender dysphoria, and embrace their God given gender.  -  Sanctuary cities should not be funded-  Prosecutors need to stop releasing offenders like the guy that stabbed the Ukrainian gal.  Security on these public transit systems need to have confidence that riders aren’t crazy.  When a violation like this one occurs, the last prosecutor that waived his bail or sentence should be convicted for five years for negligence -  Churches and Pastors need to revisit their youth curriculum.   Consider starting a TPUSA chapter as an alternative.  We cannot assume that the lower grades of education adequately or correctly educated our kids on American God centered values.  -  Students need to find the courage and SUPPORT to expose the err of their professors who spew hate and disinformation. They need us to lead by example.  Our kids are being brainwashed right under our noses and we are funding it.  Parents are paying annually for their kids to be indoctrinated.-  Likeminded parents should unite, divide the tasks and stay on task.  Attend board meetings, monitor professors / teacher classes, produce newsletter updates to other parents, local representatives, local news outlets.-  Schools, both college and high schools need exterior monitors, motion detectors that feed back to their security office where someone is on point for spotting suspicious activity (this is pro active)-  Soft Targets need to be hardened (light rail, subways, high schools, college campuses).  It’s unfortunate that we find ourselves in this position…I get it…but we can’t deny the fact that we are all behind enemy lines in 2025.  -  Retired X-military, former law enforcement and vetted conceal carry citizens should be hired to be the first line of offense.  We did engage Air Marshals for air travelers which has proven effective-  If the TPUSA movement continues to build momentum, and I hope it does, we will need to create a safe environment for our kids. My concern for the TPUSA students is that currently they are warriors behind enemy lines without a platoon for protection.  Our kids enlist to serve their country…and as parents we are concerned, but we have some assurance that they are flanked by fellow soldiers, air support, military overwatch to keep them safe. Tomorrow marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11, where we'll pause to honor the memories of the innocent men and women, moms and dads, students and children that were simply starting their day…commuting to work, settling in for a productive day on the job.  But their day came to an end at 8:46 am est, when Flight 11 crashes into the north face of the North Tower of the World Trade Center, between floors 93 and 99. All passengers aboard are instantly killed with an unknown number inside the building.  At 9:03, Flight 175 crashes into the south face of the South Tower of the World Trade Center, between floors 77 and 85. All passengers and crew are killed together with an unknown number inside the building. Parts of the plane, including the starboard engine, leave the building from its east and north sides, falling to the ground six blocks away.9:37:46: Flight 77 crashes into the western side of The Pentagon, in Arlington, Virginia.  All 58 passengers and crew were killed aboard the aircraft, as well as an additional 125 on the ground.9:57: The passengers aboard Flight 93 begin a revolt, planned by Todd Beamer, Mark Bingham, Tom Burnett, Jeremy Glick, and others, moving against the hijackers in an attempt to take back the plane.  I might point out that just minutes before, citizen patriotism was reborn when Todd, Mark, Tom and Jeremy decided…to fight back…and proclaimed “Let’s Roll.”As a result, Flight 93 was downed by mere passengers on the plane who stepped up in an attempt to save others at a target unknown.  Flight 93 went down in  a field outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Flight 93’s intended target was likely either the White House or the United States Capitol.Twenty-seven minutes later the unthinkable happened—the south tower collapsed, sending out shock waves that registered over 2.4 on the seismographs at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. The attacks killed 2,977 people from 90 nations: 2,753 people were killed in New York; 184 people were killed at the Pentagon; and 40 people were killed on Flight 93.They were not soldiers.  They were not engaged on the frontline of some battlefield in some distant land.  They were citizens of this great country, and apparently other nations, simply going about their business.  Thinking about their schedule for day, working on a big presentation at work, dropping their kids off at day care, working towards a dream maybe to send their kid to college or in the midst of planning a wedding, a vacation or a long awaited fall reunion with distant relatives.  That was 24 years ago.Millions witnessed this tragic day on TV from the comfort of their home.  Others learned of these attacks from the radio or a co-worker.  But countless thousands witnessed this horrific day first hand just outside of ground zero, covered in concrete ash as they scrambled to find safety, medical care and understanding.This was a day we were told to “Never Forget.”  It was the day a sleeping giant of a nation was awakened from their slumber and self-absorbed pursuits.  It was the second or third, maybe even the fourth rebirth of this nation to stop, look and listen to the dangers surrounding us.  So join me today's I shed some light into the many backstories that were taking place, well in advance of 9/11.Send us Fan Mail

Last week I put a short show together asking you, our listeners, for some feedback on our podcast.  As I mentioned in that episode, Mark and I launched One Day Closer officially in October 2022…under the call of Ezekiel 33, where we learned the importance of the call to become a Watchmen of the Wall.  Which is to say, be engaged with Life.  If you see danger on the horizon, sound the alarm!  “Danger Will Robinson!”  As you may recall, that season of time, Joe Biden’s term as Commander in Chief was fraught with danger signs, from gender confusion, government policies that were counter to the core tenets of Americas founding. Everything was upside down!  Pronouns were more important than merit.  Wide open borders without any attempt to Vet the incoming was a manufactured coup for redistricting and future voter fraud.Chaos was the mantra.  The crazier the assault or policy only opened another door for more chaos.  It started with Drag Queen story hour at our pre-K schools.  Which called into question ones gender, then rules about honoring ones pronouns and their identity.  If you identified as a cat, the schools brought in litter boxes to support your delusion.  Gender confusion was all the rage and parents couldn’t wait to forever change their son or daughters gender so that they (the parents) could boost about how woke they were.  Point is, there was a lot to call out and expose during Biden’s term, a season when watchmen were sorely needed but were in short supply or afraid to speak out. In the show prior, episode 265 entitled “And May God Rest His Soul”, I shared a story about Jesus’ yoke supposedly being an “easy one.”  If you didn’t get a chance to listen to that show, I suggest you do so, especially if you are finding little “rest” in this journey we call “life.”What I did manage to point out in that story, is that by taking up Christs yoke…strapping into his yoke does two things.  It requires that we bring our burdens to him, which engages both our trust and faith in Him…PLUS…it suggest that to be yoked together with him means we are able to walk side by side, shoulder to shoulder with Christ on the journey!  So this very topic came up this past Saturday at our men’s group.  We were talking about how difficult surrendering and trusting can be sometimes…and one guy said…”yeah but how do you do that?  There were a lot of thoughts shared by other brothers, examples of how they handled something in the past or a testimony of how God answered their prayers, etc., etc., but I could tell the guy wasn’t satisfied with the advice.  It appeared to me that he didn’t need a testimony but rather a visual.  So I gave him one.Imagine you have taken Christs invite and surrendered your burdens to Him.  You’ve even gone so far as to trust Him with both the load and the outcome.  AND you have submitted to locking the empty yoke collar to your neck.  You are now side by side, shoulder to shoulder with Christ.But when the collar gets tight on your neck or you feel like your pulling harder that Christ…maybe you are getting ahead of Christ?  If you slow down, accept Gods pace over yours, the collar comes back into balance…equally distributed…to the point where you can’t even feel it.  Maybe that’s where you are suppose to be….not trying to get ahead of God…or pulling God…and not lagging behind either…but side by side, shoulder to shoulder.  Maybe that’s where peace, joy and rest fit into the equation.  This is where Christ is.  When you can’t feel the yoke at all, no pressures, your side of the yoke is aligned with Christ side…shoulders are square.  I believe this is where the peace, joy and rest lives.  His pace is the right pace.  Send us Fan Mail

What’s the meaning behind our shows Title…One Day Closer? The simple answer is…Everyday we wake up with breath, we are all one day closer to either finishing our race here on earth, well or poorly.  Not to sound morbid, but none of us are guaranteed our next day or our next breath here on Earth.  Our bodies and our internal workings are an amazing self-contained tapestry of Gods handiwork.  Some of us treat our bodies pretty rough, especially when we are younger.  Consider the athletes, soldiers, body builders, laborers, construction workers.  These guys and gals push their bodies to the limit…and like a good old Timex watch…they keep ticking. And on the bright side of things, as we make new resolutions, plan out our goals and desires for the new year, we are also one day closer to realizing our dreams, hopes, finding that right girl or guy to spend the rest of your life with, one day closer to prayers being answered and blessings and goals being realized.So why One Day Closer you ask?  Because whatever you have going on…when you wake up in the morning, you are indeed One Day Closer of being finished…whether the tasks at hand are completed or not.Our hope and suggestion by the way, would be to lock down your future enteral destiny done FIRST.  While there’s still time, choose Jesus.  You’ll never have to worry about “what if I get cancer, what if I get hit by a bus tomorrow or what if my heart stops working properly.”  None of that matters once you have your salvation / relationship with God right.  Everyday afterwards, becomes a blessing, a gift and a calling! What our tag line means“To Rekindle a spirit of hope and truth into the crazy discussion of the day.”  Why?  So that we can all be WHAT our families, friends and total strangers need us to be…a voice of reason, hope and light in a dark world.  A voice that was unafraid to introduce a biblical perspective to the crazy news stories of the day.We were solely attempting to fulfill the calling of Philippians 2:15 - “so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,”We started this podcast in October of 2022.  We felt millions of Americans (both parents and students) were loosing hope…were struggling with all the lies the administration was feeding us.  We both felt it was time to inject biblical interpretation and perspective into the crazy discussions of the day.  When we got wind of the battle over gender ideology (Erin’s story), drag queen story hour and gender affirming care initiatives, we spoke back to the darkness and called out the stupid.  Our objective was simple.  Help others snap out of the Covid fog of war, wake up from woke deception and find their voice and reason for common sense.  We felt it was time to expose that the monkeys had taken over the zoo…and something had to be done.And our closing reminders: “Take a breath, Keep the Faith , Get in the Word…We all have a job to do, until we don’t.”Mark and I believe two basic premises:  Salvation is message ONE and is available to all who call on God and it is a requirement to enter eternal peace.Secondarily, we all have a job to do, responsibilities with accountability, POST-Salvation!It’s not “works towards salvation” but works of service Post-salvation out of compassion for others and a purpose driven life with meaning and measure.Send us Fan Mail

Is it just me, or have you ever attended a funeral and just before they begin to lower the casket into the ground, the Pastor says something in closing similar to this…”and may God rest his Soul.”  Is it just me or have you ever thought that was kind of a weird thing to say. The typical thinking or association with this phrase, is that once our loved one is dead, gone and buried…then and only then will they have “rest for their Soul.”The truth is, their Soul, their Spirit is no where to be found at this stage of the proceedings.  Their Spirit or their Soul if you will, left this earth along with their last breath.  A more accurate parting statement would have been, “God rest his weary bones.”This misunderstanding or misuse of the phrase lead me to ask a few basic questions.  Can we have rest for our Soul WHILE we are still alive?  Isn’t that WHEN we need peace, comfort, reassurance and rest…during our time here on earth?  I believe the answer to both these questions is a resounding yes!But I wanted to make sure, so I launched a little study into this topic on the Soul using the YouVersion Bible app I mentioned the other day in our Therapist show, episode 263.  Within the app, I found several mini studies on the topic of the Soul and on The Spirit, that Christ promised to send to all of us upon his departure.  There’s a reason why Christ did so.  Because the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Counselor, Strengthener, Revealer of the Scriptures, Convincer of sin, Caller of ministers and our Intercessor in prayer. These are things we need DURING LIFE…NOT AFTERWARDS.So one of the series that I found worthy of sharing was called “Soul Care.”  It’s in the YouVersion app but you can also find it and other contributions at www.whoisgrace.com/read.The Soul is the most important dimension of you. Your soul is the real you. In fact, Jesus claimed that there is nothing more important. “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and yet lose his very soul?” (Mark 8:36) According to John 7:38, Jesus has a way to avoid this.  “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ ””Not just “refreshing” water…but “living”, regenerative, water.Jesus’ yoke is an invitation to the life we ache for. A life that can be found only by moving through the world shoulder-to-shoulder with Jesus. Your soul will be revived as you learn to live your life WITH God.The Holy Spirit serves as a teacher, counselor, comforter, strengthener, inspiration, revealer of the Scriptures, convincer of sin, caller of ministers and intercessor in prayer.So to summarize…death is not the rest we are promised…but rather it is the LIFE we LIVE shoulder-to-shoulder, side-by-side with the one Christ left for us to HELP us … the same wonderful, powerful, awesome healing and refreshing Spirit that raised Christ from the dead…IS the SAME SPIRIT THAT DWELLS in US!  This is the Soul we want to protect, nurture, fed and cherish.Send us Fan Mail

Today, you’ve entered Dave’s Wisdom Shack.  Here, you will hear things that you’ll never hear from your shrink AND you won’t pay a penny for it!So the Therapist says to her patient …”So what’s it going to be?  Fight or Flight?”  And the patient answered…”I’m still confused.  Do I fight my depression and flee from my anxiety or is it the other way around?”  And there you are.  Frozen between apparently, only two decisions, which introduces the last F response to the Fight, Flight or Freeze methodology therapists use to keep client/patients (you) in the loop cycle, stuck in the revolving door…going round and round, until the next visit.Anxiety or Depression.  Which comes first?  That is the question I asked of a very close friend of mine just the other day.  We had met for breakfast and it didn’t take long to see that something was deeply troubling her.  We’ll call this person Christy.  So I asked her, what’s bothering you sister?She told me she was seeing a therapist, which was a surprise to me, and that she was struggling to find purpose…”I’m just not happy and I don’t know who I am anymore.”  After some further discussion, she advised that the Therapist was helping her assess where she was in the Fight, Flight or Freeze three-way intersection.  For those unfamiliar with this line of reasoning, here’s the simple, layman’s explanation.  Say you’re confronted with a life or death situation on a jog through the park, when suddenly you are confronted by a mean (but dumb as a brick) man with a knife, that wants to rob you.  I describe this threatening man as “dumb as a brick” because he’s dumb enough to think you might be carrying all your cash in your spandex running attire.  But Christy wasn’t on a run, she wasn’t facing down an attacker…she was seeing a Therapist to help her process why she wasn’t happy and seemed to have lost her identity…or purpose.  So why would the Therapist think that understanding the Freeze, Flight or Fight concept would do Christy any good?  Why ask Christy “which one you going to choose?”  Maybe the Therapist was trying to highlight that once you chose one…she’ll be able to follow up with a question like…”okay so how would you flee or fight off your depression?”This might make for a good question.  Obviously, “Fighting off” your depression would make more sense than remaining “frozen or paralyzed” in it and I don’t believe it’s possible to “flee or run” from depression or anxiety.  The real question then is WHERE WILL YOU TURN TO FIND WISDOM, INSIGHT, POWER, STRENGTH and the ANSWERS to these FEELINGS and THOUGHTS you are wrestling with?  Stay with me..I’ll get there.Just for the record, I’m not a licensed Shrink, Psychiatrist, or Therapist.  I’m just guy in my late 60’s, with gray hair and plenty of life experiences of setbacks, heartaches and failures.  Which simply means I can relate.   This is how I got through my storms without a therapist.  I read a lot about stuff but most importantly, I read the Bible more in search for answers as to how to “live life,” post discovering salvation.  I focused on actions that brought me closer to Christ way of thinking…because it made sense, brought me peace and strength in the storm so that, I could move past it all…by simply changing my perspective.  I asked myself, do I really want to continue to pack all these past burdens, worries and fears with me as I move forward or begin my journey onward with no baggage and a lighter load.  I chose the latter. Google pre-frontal cortex and read up on what it is and how it works.Suggestions in two articles highlighted several techniques for rewiring your brain for better mental health.I did like one suggested category called “Shifting Focus and RewiSend us Fan Mail

Welcome to One Day Closer with Mark and Dave, where we are TESTIFYING TODAY that God DOES rekindle a spirit of Hope and Truth when we make our requests know to Him.Today’s show was inspired AND is a true story of both heartache and victory, shared with my wife and I from some very close friends of ours.  As is our custom here at One Day Closer, I asked if I could share their story with our audience, as I thought it was a story many would be able to identify with and draw peace from.  I promised them both that I would protect the names and identities of both the innocent and the not so innocent characters of the story.  I even sketched this dialogue out and ran it by them both to make sure I captured their story as accurately as possible… and with that, I received permission to share their story.A story full of drama, the duties and challenges of caring for our aging parents, interacting with previous estranged siblings,  tough decisions about when to step aside or not, how to execute the right next best decision, etc.  Tough stuff that we can all identify with, or that we will eventually be faced with. Here’s the net out or take away from pondering this testimony for over a week.  Sometimes you have to ignore or disregard, the negative thoughts seeded by negative naysayers, and just trust God to show up and deliver the peace we all seek.  You have to trust that God WILL move on your behalf…once you take a few a steps to do the right thing…in faith…AND when you experience a blessing from God…that’s always worthy of sharing…either alone to the urinal or with a total stranger…don’t miss the opportunity to share the story forward.  God can bless that exchange as well…AND He can put a cherry on top of that sweet moment just for fun.Here’s what I mean.  After the plates were cleared from a wonderful dinner-story with Glen and Barb, and we all pass on the dessert menu, Glen finishes their story with this.  “Dave this is the best part.  So while Barb was still visiting with her mom for the second time…somewhere around the hour and a-half mark, I was thanking God for a second successful visit between my wife and her mother…I told God that the only thing that would make this trip better was to move mom to want to see me…the devil…even if it was just for a moment.  An hour later…that is exactly what happened.  When Barb exited the building she waved me out of the car.  Mom then came out of the doorway, gave me a smile and I gave her a hug.  I thanked her for seeing her daughter and she thanked me for bringing her down to visit.  BAMM!  Dave this trip was all about Barb and her mother…but God gave me something special as well.”  Send us Fan Mail

This past Monday, Mark shared some enlightening news regarding Artificial Intelligence.  I hope you listened to that show because it showcased a host of scams that are at play with this technology…scams that could wipe out your or your parents bank accounts simply because you or they didn’t know any better.  Whether you like it or not, AI is here to stay.  It should be noted from Marks show on the topic of AI, is that few CEO’s of AI companies are focused on “AI Guard Rails” to protect the public.  Which leaves us…the users of technology…to fend for ourselves.Several of the clips Mark shared in episode 260 on AI showcased how the technology is being used to create video messages that appear to be your son or daughter in a tough spot, or held captive in a dark and scary room…telling you in their own voice…that they are in trouble and they need you to send money straight away.  The video looks like your son or daughter and their voice certainly sounds like them, but it’s fake.  So how can you discern whether the message is real or not?Here’s our first TIP from a loyal and fellow listener of One Day Closer.  He suggested creating a SAFE word and a DANGER word.  This could be established with your kids as well as your parents or grandparents.  The idea is a simple one but can be very effective.  We’ve all seen an FBI show or a movie where someone goes under cover to infiltrate a mob Gand or a smuggling operation.  The person undercover is usually wearing a wire and their colleagues in the van outside are listening closely for either the SAFE word or the DANGER (my covers been blown) word, which serves to deploy the calvery, breach the building and “get me out of here!”Most of us normal folks don’t have these occupations and hence don’t need to think like this right?  Think again.Let’s say you get a video message.  Your daughter is leaving you a desperate video message for help or money, but in her message she DOES NOT use the DANGER word or phrase.  You’ll know right away that that is a scam, especially if you make it very clear from the start with your loved ones…why having this discussion about CODED Safe and Danger words is important.  If they don’t use them…you will NOT be taking any action on their behalf.Here’s a Universal Hand Signal for someone needing help.  5-4-0It was developed several years ago but not everyone may know what it is.  It was designed to help someone communicate without speaking, that they are in trouble, being abducted and need help.  Most recently, I’ve seen commercials showing how this hand signal can be used by an abductee.  The commercial shows a guy walking down a busy street holding the gals arm (obviously to keep her from running away).  This leaves her other arm free to touch or slightly bump others as they walk by in the opposite direct.  Once the abducted gal bumps you to get your attention to look back at her, she displays the following hand signal behind the abductors back.  5 = A full open Hand; followed by the number 4 = four fingers; followed by a closed fist.  5-4-0.  This is the universal hand signal for someone asking for help.  Teach this to your kids.  If they do this enough when being abducted or they loose their voice, this simple hand signal could save their life.Today’s show has been a Public Service Announcement intended to give you some ideas and tactics to protect yourself and love ones, young and old.  I hope you share this show with your friends, family members and co-workers…basically anyone you know that you care about.Send us Fan Mail

I hope you had a great week and that you had a chance to listen to Mondays show entitled “The 12 Day War: One Historic Week of Leadership on Display.”  The inevitable Israeli / Iran war that for 50 years, had all nations fearing that a major conflict between these two, would usher in the beginning of the end for all mankind.  Instead it brought an abrupt end to Irans nuclear missile ambitions in just 12 days.  The alliance and coordination between two great allies, Israel and America, showcased the military might of both nations, as well as, the bravery, courage and commitment of two great leaders, Prime Minister Bibi Nethenyahu and President Trump.American competence was on full display and her execution was flawless.  The citizens of both Israel and American should be very proud of what these two men orchestrated to bring peace and security to the Middle-east.  Well today is July 4th. Independence Day in America!Did you know that more than 150 countries celebrate an Independence Day around the globe? Independence Day, is a federal holiday that commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4, 1776.  It’s historically significant because the Continental Congress declared the 13 American colonies no longer were subject to the British monarch.  But the cost for this Independence would be high.  A revolution against our oppressor, Great Britain would be required.The Americans had no standing army at the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. The American Revolutionary Soldiers came from the 13 colonies who had relied upon the local militia, made up of part time citizen-soldiers, for local defense.There were 2.5 million colonists during the Revolutionary War periodThe British Army had many advantages over the American Army:•The British Army had a well established, experienced, standing army - the American Army did not•The British Army had a well established navy - the American Army did not•The British Army had ample quantities of powder, guns, and clothing - the American Army did not•The British Army were well disciplined and trained - the American Army was not.   A total of 25,000 Americans died during the Revolutionary war.   9000 American soldiers suffered serious wounds and injuriesThe initial cost or downpayment if you will was paid by the actions taken and lives sacrificed during the lengthy and expensive American Revolutionary War.  The level of devotion committed to such a cause as freedom and self (but unified) government that was promised to ALL men united in the cause was astonishing.  The courage, the strength, the stamina to carry on despite the setbacks, loss and growing costs is almost unfathomable to ponder.It represents people’s efforts to earn and keep freedom, and that’s a struggle that continues to this day.But more importantly, we need to remember all the sacrifices that went into the earned celebration of our Independence, and those that offered their last full measure, their own blood and treasure, must not be forgotten or taken for granted.  The 25,000 citizen-soldiers of the Revolutionary War, plus those that have defended this nation, our values and core tenets over the decades that followed.It’s a day to be grateful…but not just for the day or until the last barrage of fireworks light up the sky, but everyday!Left unattended, under-appreciated and not protected, will certainly lead to its demise.  The very essence and meaning of independence and freedom deteriorates over time…IF WE THE PEOPLE DON’T CONTINUE TO DEFEND THE CORE TENETS OF OUR FOUNDING.Today’s musical guest and feature is Indenpendence Day by Martina McBrideSend us Fan Mail

Have you heard?  These three simple words grabs attention better than most when starting a discussion.  We humans love…dare I say…crave, gossip or more mildly stated, are very open to new intel.  We love a good story.  The kids today have an acronym for this…it called FOMO…the Fear Of Missing Out, and none of us want to miss out on something.If I said, “danger Will Robinson” these three words would suggest a WARNING might follow.  If I said “back off Jack,” you might perceive it as a THREAT.  And if I said “Make America Great Again,” many would be triggered and their TDS would flare up and their face would turn red as their veins begin to pop out of their head.But a question like “have you heard,” is a harmless one, not a threat or a warning…but a question that is most often, well received (without insight or context as to what might follow).My objective is to share a few “communication strategies” or techniques to help us all communicate better by being more thoughtful and prepared as we engage with people (both strangers or casual acquaintances and with those we actually know a bit better).In a word this show is about TESTIFYING.  But don’t let that word scare you.  I’m not talking about WITNESSING or PREACHING to your neighbor or trying to convert the struggling stranger to a Faith worthy of following.I’m talking about farming.  You heard me right…FARMING.  The simple, but intentional, act of planting a seed of hope or encouragement, a word of peace or a display of sincere compassion…that sticks with people…long after the discussion or encounter is over.Image what the apostles struggled with when they finally ventured out into the many nations to begin their ministry.  There was no advanced marketing or promotion campaign announcing their “coming soon” arrival.  There was no institution behind the scenes supporting them, no handouts or preprinted leaflets…to pass out once they got there.  It was just them.  At first, maybe as a group…but later…they went out two by two…and even later…each took on their own region or nation.They entered a strangle land, with little to no knowledge of the nations or regions they would visit to spread the word of Christs life, death and resurrection.  They would have had little insight into the faiths, beliefs, laws, and customs of the many people they would be engaging with.  Imagine heading to a distant land, far from Jerusalem or Galilee and engaging with a total stranger  and say…”Have You Heard…of Jesus the Christ from Galilee?”What a brilliant way to open a conversation…with three simple words…”Have you heard?”They didn’t “spread” the word with opening statements like “Repent you filthy Sinner” or “you’re all going to hell because you don’t know Jesus.”They weren’t preaching repentance. They were sharing Good News.  In a word they were “testifying.”  Simply telling a story of an incredible man, teacher and healer of men.  Today we might describe him as a major Influencer on social media.  But how many total strangers would have been moved to ponder their lot in life if the story was only about a wise and insightful rabbi or teacher from some distant land?  I’m guessing it was the stories of healings, miracle’s and the personal eye witness accounts of these supernatural events that were most rememberable to listeners, total strangers.YOUR GIFT is YOUR STORY!  YOUR MESS can be YOUR MESSAGE.  And it doesn’t have to be long or all inclusive.Remember, initially we are simply FARMING.  Simply dropping seeds.  But what kind of seeds are we planting?  That depends on the soil.  Does it get a lot of moisture or full sun?  So there’s a little bit of THOUGHT put in to HOW you will perform your work.Send us Fan Mail
