218. ONE Question Behind the Skillset Every CEO Needs to Scale Their Revenue (without making it harder than it needs to be)
There's one thing I see in common with every single one of my clients getting big results right now, whether that's $70k in new sales, a sold out group program, a $19k sales week, or a $57k cash month. It's also the very thing I didn't do at the start of my business and again in 2024, when I had one of my more challenging years. And it's exactly what I shifted in 2025 to add $100k of additional revenue and what's making me feel extra giddy and lit up about my client work right now. That's why in Episode 218, I'm unpacking ONE Question behind the skillset every CEO needs to scale their revenue (without making it harder than it needs to be). In this episode, you'll hear: How we get in our own way and make it nearly impossible to see opportunities and get bigger results. My beef with the concept of self-sabotage, and how I think about and approach our less helpful thoughts and patterns instead. A parable and ONE Question I use to pattern interrupt and manage my mindset so I can show up neutrally as a CEO and run at momentum, sales, and serving clients. What I shifted in 2024 to stop losing time and energy digging holes in my business and climb out of them, add $100k in revenue, and sustain $40k+ cash months. 217. ONE Question for Clients Who Pick You and Can't Wait to Pay You
There's really not as much competition as you think, and I want to prove it to you. We think the market is saturated. We think we need another certification, a bigger audience, or shinier branding and results to make sales. Not that those things don't matter. But, that makes it tough to stand out when we're all chasing the same things to look good on paper. But what if the thing that actually makes people hire you, and keep paying you, has more to do with something else? In Episode 217, I'm breaking down ONE Question for clients who pick you (and can't wait to pay YOU). This is exactly what I've been asking for over 8 years, that's behind my fully booked, in-demand practice and $2.1M in revenue (hint: this is the real driver behind every marketing and sales strategy that actually works.) In this episode, you'll hear: The real reasons people buy and what actually drives investing decisions, and why being good on paper and your social media following have less to do with it than the online gurus make us think. Exactly why my husband picked his personal trainer and paid in full, from what his coach did that made him the obvious choice in a gym full of credentialed options to what his past two trainers did that cost them a repeat client. My 3-part Social Currency framework for building strategic and leveraged relationships, and why without it, you'll work harder for fewer results no matter how good your strategy is. ONE Question that's been at the core of my fully booked high level 1:1 coaching practice, keeps my pipeline full, and is behind $2.1M in revenue, and how to use it to attract more clients who already know you're the right person for them. 216. ONE Question to Double Down on What's Actually Making You the Most Money (And Cut What Isn't)
One of the most challenging things as business owners is knowing where to focus and invest our time, energy, and resources. It seems like this would get easier as we scale, but I've found the bigger your business and results, the more options you have, the more expenses increase, and the harder it becomes to know what's actually working and worth it. That's why in Episode 216, I'm unpacking ONE Question to double down on what's actually making you the most money and cut what isn't. In this episode, you'll hear: Why marketing feels hard for those of us who "talk feelings" and what to focus on instead to enjoy the process and get bigger results. My Substack journey, the "gap phase," why it's confusing even as a successful business owner, and what I looked at to decide whether to quit or stick with it…and how that led to 116 new subscribers in 6 days. A different way to assess rising business costs and how to know when an expense is making you money and when it's time to cut it. The first thing I come back to when I'm feeling unclear on the right next strategic move in my business. A reminder for every heart-centered therapist, coach, and service provider who leads with people first, and what's also true when it comes to sales and revenue. 215. ONE Question I've used to book right-fit clients, make sales, and scale to $2.1M (without doing what everyone else told me to)
If I had a dollar for every time someone told me I can't scale 1:1 or suggested I have a bad "money mindset" for not chasing a bigger business, I'd be even richer than I already am. I don't think everyone should have an all high level coaching practice, most of my clients don't. But I do know how often over my decade in business I've had other models pushed on me, and how often the resistance I felt got labeled as fear, self-sabotage, or just not wanting it badly enough. I'm so grateful that instead of listening to other people's projections, I asked myself a better question to find my own answer…and scale my coaching business to over $2.1M my way. That's why I'm unpacking ONE Question I've used to book right-fit clients, make sales, and scale to $2.1M without doing what everyone else told me to. And why getting this wrong is one of the most expensive mistakes I see therapists, coaches, and other service providers make In Episode 215, you'll hear: Why the same situation, same feeling, and even the same response can mean completely different things, and why a one-size-fits-all answer will move you further from the business results you actually want. The question that helped me choose the right business model and scale to over $2.1M, even when everyone around me had a very different opinion about what I should do. How to use this in your sales process to stop leaving right-fit clients on the table and stop working so hard to close the wrong ones. How to know when resistance is your biggest growth edge and when listening to it is actually the smartest business move you can make. 214. One Question to Make Decisions Like a CEO and Come Out Ahead in Any Economy
The online space is loud right now, and the fearmongering is even louder. I've heard everything from AI is coming for all of our jobs to high ticket is dead and no one's buying coaching anymore. These are the conversations happening behind closed doors and publicly in Facebook groups, masterminds, and in content. My clients have also celebrated record-breaking income months and sold out launches. And I just made two new high ticket investments in my own business this week. So, what's actually true and what should you listen to? In Episode 214, I'm answering that question and following it up with ONE Question to make your next best business decision like a CEO and come out ahead in any economy. In this episode, you'll hear: The truth about self-fulfilling prophecies, why they aren't all woo, and how to take your power back and create the one you actually want in any economy. What the 1929 bank runs have to do with coaches pulling back on selling or discounting, and how smart service providers talk themselves into harming their own businesses. What you need to understand about a recession and what it actually means if one is announced (because we're not in one right now). ONE Question that separates the CEOs who come out ahead from the ones who contract, and how to use it to make your next business decision with confidence. 213. ONE Question for What People Will Pay You the Most For
I just got off a call with my coach that blew my mind and made my whole life and business make sense. Not because we came up with some complicated strategy or social media hack, but because she knows me well enough to be able to reflect back the things I'm too close to and can't see for myself. Like they say, you can't read the label from inside the jar. And, the label our clients want to pay us the big bucks for are our superpowers and 'zone of genius'. Those just also happen to be the very things us high achievers tend to miss because they come easily or naturally to us or discount altogether, which affects our marketing, ease at creating content, and what attracts the right-fit clients, creates demand, and drives sales. That's why in Episode 213, I'm unpacking ONE Question for what people will pay you the most for. In this episode, you'll hear: Why we really buy and what actually drives marketing, sales, and buying behavior (hint: it's not your funnel). The truth about soft skills in business, why so many of us discount them, and why they might be the most valuable asset for your success. Why high achievers make business harder than it needs to be and the pattern I've had to work through at every level. The real reason your marketing might not be landing and smart business owners struggle to sell their offer. The number one thing to lean into right now in a saturated, AI-driven market and trust recession to stand out, get noticed, and paid. 212. ONE Question for Content That Gets Attention, Builds Trust, and Creates Demand
There's a note I've been giving almost every single client, at every stage of business, when I review their content and copy. This is also something I've been working on myself, which is likely why I keep noticing it everywhere. (No, it's not "own your work and share more results", though, that too!) That's why in Episode 212, I'm unpacking ONE question for content that gets attention, builds trust, and creates demand. Because clear and sharp marketing that lands with your audience matters more than ever. In this episode, you'll hear: Why people's bandwidth is down and what that means for how content actually works and what's getting noticed, building momentum, and turning into leads and sales right now. What it means to "kill your darlings", the number one thing that waters down content, and how to create connection and authority without overexplaining. How to use this one question to get clear on what a piece of content is actually for in your marketing strategy and sales process before you create it. The surprising way we end up stuck in proving energy that can do more to repel than attract right-fit leads, what this is about, and how to shift it. How to apply this in the ideation phase, editing phase, and when the resistance kicks in or you're second-guessing yourself. 211. ONE Question for Reliable Revenue & Results You Can Repeat
I find as high achievers, we tend to do one of two things (or both): We get a big result, like a sold-out launch or a $50k month, and attribute it to luck or call it a fluke. Or we get disappointed when we don't get the result we wanted and blame ourselves, decide we suck, or blame outside circumstances, like the algorithm that's supposedly out to get us. And whatever the outcome, neither response is all that supportive if you want to create reliable, repeatable revenue and sustain long-term business growth. That's why in this week's episode, I'm unpacking ONE Question I come back to again and again for clarity, strategic decision-making, and results you can actually repeat. In Episode 211, you'll hear: How we give our power away as business owners and how to use this question to take it back by getting clear on what is and isn't in your control. What "success leaves clues" really means and how to spot those clues whether you had a big win or a disappointing result. The truth about business results and how understanding this can help you create more consistent, reliable revenue. The strategic insight this question gave me about my most recent masterclass and how to apply it to your own launch results, conversion events, and content performance. How to get back to neutral so you can stop spiraling, solve the right problem, and make smarter, strategic decisions in your business. My three-part framework for evaluating results with clients 1:1, plus one bonus lens to help you avoid stopping too soon or sabotaging your own momentum. 210. ONE Question to Know Exactly What to Focus on to Scale Your Business (and the Shiny Objects to Ignore)
If you were to open my inbox or DMs on any given day, you'd find countless pitches telling me all the things I'm doing wrong and what I need to fix my business. Some of the ideas and strategies aren't even all that bad. But after celebrating my ten-year business anniversary and looking back at what's helped me sustain a fully booked 1:1 roster for over seven years and generate more than $2M in revenue, I can see that chasing everyone else's advice or every new strategy hasn't been the thing that created my results. It also hasn't been burying my head in the sand and ignoring the fact that things online and in our industry continue to change. Because the truth is, they do. What used to work sometimes stops working as well, and new opportunities and strategies emerge all the time. The difference for me has been knowing what actually deserves my attention… and what doesn't. In this week's episode,I'm unpacking ONE Question to know exactly what to focus on to scale your business (and the shiny objects to ignore). I'm sharing how I diagnose what's happening inside a business so you can identify the right problem to solve and focus on the actions that create revenue and growth. Because when you're this.close. to your business, everything can start to look important. Every idea, strategy, and platform sounds like it might be the missing piece. And it becomes surprisingly easy to spend time, energy, and money solving problems that were never actually the issue. In Episode 210, you'll hear: • How answering this ONE Question helped me go from working until 3am, doing all the things, and struggling to see results… to more than 80 consecutive $10k–$50k cash months while working less. • Why it's not always a leads or sales problem, and what your business may actually need to double or triple revenue without burning you out, harming delivery, or dropping the ball. • The real reason I'm not focusing on SEO or AI discoverability right now, even though it's a smart strategy in 2026 and something I'm recommending to some clients. • The difference between a symptom and the real problem in business, and why diagnosing this correctly is often the key to bigger results. • What every business needs to have before making changes to sales pages, emails, offers, or marketing strategies. • The number one thing I focus on with clients that sits at the center of my coaching and my own business results and why this directly affects your revenue, profitability, and scalability. 209. ONE Question to Unhook from the Pressure to Be Increasingly Impressive
I just celebrated my ten year business birthday and anniversary (and am still processing the milestone!). As a multi-six-figure business owner with an 80% profit margin, this puts me in a small % of businesses, and even smaller when we look at women-owned and led businesses and longevity. This level of financial security and freedom isn't something I take for granted, and earlier this year I found myself reflecting to my own coach that even if my business never makes another dollar beyond what it already does, I'm content and have more than enough. And yet… last month, I caught myself in a familiar pattern that sounds like, "This isn't enough, yet." That's why in this week's episode, I'm unpacking ONE Question to unhook from the pressure to be increasingly impressive in order to sustain bigger results. We're diving into how high-achieving business owners weaponize their own ambition and drive against themselves, and how to shift out of this form of self-sabotage to scale more sustainably (and actually enjoy your business, too). In this episode, you'll hear: The high-achiever trap that disguises itself as growth, discipline, or "just wanting more", what this is actually about, and how this limits success. The role pressure plays in decision-making, creativity, and long-term business sustainability. Why chasing bigger and better results can block receiving what you actually want (even when things are objectively working). The counterintuitive shift that supports steadier revenue, grounded confidence, and leadership without constant self-monitoring or proving. 208. ONE Question to Stop Overfunctioning and Becoming the Bottleneck in Your Business
You know how they say, "New level, new devil"? I've found it to be more like, "New level, same devil". It just shows up differently. And ideally, with each new level, it gets easier to notice and shift more quickly. In this episode, I'm unpacking ONE Question to stop overfunctioning and becoming the bottleneck in your business. This is a pattern that's shown up for me at every stage and uplevel of business, and one I see with high-achieving, high-capacity, hyper-independent business owners who are used to being the one who's always "got it!". I talk about how this dynamic plays out with clients, teams, and leadership and why learning to step out of it is essential if you want to grow without burning out or unintentionally disempowering the people you're trying to support. In this episode, you'll hear: The identity shift that becomes essential as you scale and how it impacts both your personal growth and your client and team dynamics The lesson I didn't expect when I retired my husband and became the breadwinner and how it changed the way I think about responsibility in business. Why leadership can start to feel heavier at each new level, even when things are "working," and why this often becomes the real constraint to growth. The difference between overdelivering and overfunctioning and why that distinction matters if you want to support client results without carrying everything yourself. 207. ONE Question to Book Clients Faster Without Gross Marketing Tactics (Coaching Session)
Instead of unpacking ONE Question the way we usually do, listen in on a live coaching session and the questions that come up when you're ready to build momentum and book more clients but low on time and energy (maybe you can relate?). Because while there's no one-size-fits-all formula for business, what's personal is almost always universal. And, what came up in this session is something I see stall so many entrepreneurs, whether they're booking their first client or scaling to six-figures and beyond. In this coaching session, you'll hear from a business owner who's balancing a job while rebuilding her business after a more passive year. She wanted an efficient, sustainable way to book clients and increase revenue without burning out or resorting to marketing that feels pushy or gross. Together, we simplified her marketing, got clear on her sales actions to actually move the needle, and mapped out a simple plan to book her next few clients in weeks (not months). In fact, about two weeks after our call, she reached out to let me know she'd booked a new pay-in-full client. Here's what you'll hear in the session: Why offering calls felt sticky for her and how to structure them in a way that actually leads to booking paying clients. The truth about "helpful" content vs. content that converts, and a simple shift you can apply to your own marketing for more sales. A different way to think about "problem awareness" content that builds trust without shaming your audience. The truth about more manipulative marketing tactics that's helpful for all of us to remember. Be sure to stick around until the end of the episode, where I share a few reflections and self-coaching questions to help you apply this to your own business, whether you're just getting started or ready to scale. If you take nothing else away from this session, I hope it reminds you that you're probably closer to your goals than you realize, and that you already have more clarity about your next best step than you think. 206. ONE Question for Magnetic, Relationship-Driven Content
What do you do when your content is technically correct… but you can tell something's off? I don't just review my clients' content and copy. I regularly look at my own data and give myself feedback, too. And this week, I was looking at a few of my talking-head reels that were perfectly fine on paper, but still missing the mark for me. Taking a neutral step back made the issue pretty obvious. And it's something I've been noticing more and more in my clients' marketing as well. That's why, in Episode 206, I'm unpacking ONE Question for magnetic, relationship-driven content. In this episode, you'll hear: What "polished" content is often missing, and what to shift without looking sloppy, messy, or unprofessional. The subtle energy that repels clients even when you're saying all the right words. How to use one simple question to drop the mask, share more lived insight, and build deeper connection, trust, and social currency with your audience. 205. ONE Question to Decide Your Next Move in Business
I told my stepson the other day that I've never regretted a decision I've made. But I have regretted decisions I didn't make because I hesitated, overanalyzed, ignored what I knew was true, or let someone else tell me what was right for me. As I'm sitting with a strategic decision about starting a new platform (spoiler alert: Substack), I've been reminded of that truth. Because while I do think it's important as entrepreneurs for us to consider what's working, data, what's trending, and what's most strategic, the longer I'm in business, the more I've realized that the best decisions I've made weren't always the most logical, but they were the most aligned. That's why, in Episode 205, I'm unpacking ONE Question to decide your next move in business. This is the same question I use to filter nearly every major decision in my business (and life), especially when there are multiple "good" or "right" options on the table. It's also the same question that's helped me discern which opportunities aren't for me (even shiny, profitable ones), and where I need to say no (and leave money on the table) so I have the capacity to say yes elsewhere. In this episode, you'll hear: How this lens has shaped the way I structure my business, make decisions more quickly, and choose strategies I can actually stick with long enough for them to compound. Why so many business owners stay stuck in indecision even when the next step is clear and what this hesitation costs you. The hidden tradeoffs that come with every opportunity, including the "good" ones, and why understanding this matters if you want to scale sustainably. Two underrated CEO-level skills that help you cut through noise, shiny objects, and external pressure. The biggest secret and hack of all time for long-term, sustainable success. 204. ONE Question to Scale Your Success Without Pushing It Away
Ever look at someone and wonder how they're getting the results they are when their strategy seems so basic? If you're honest, you've probably looked at some of the people making seven and eight figures and thought your offer, delivery, content, or strategy is better…or at least just as good. And, while those things matter (they're all things I support my 1:1 clients with), the longer I'm in business, the more I've seen that strategy alone isn't what determines how much money someone makes or their ability to sustain it. What matters just as much is who we're being, how we're thinking, how we're showing up, and our capacity to hold what comes with success. When I look at the extra $100k I added in revenue last year, or at my $52k cash month, I can see clearly that neither came from creating a new offer, building a complicated funnel, pushing harder, or spending just as much on team and ads. That's why, in Episode 204, I'm unpacking ONE Question to Scale Your Success Without Pushing It Away, one I've had to ask myself at every level. In this episode, you'll hear: Why "having the right strategy" and working harder isn't always enough to scale or sustain growth. What actually comes with making more money, visibility, and success and why that matters more than most business owners realize. How your identity sets the ceiling for how much success and money you'll allow yourself to make and hold. Why smart, talented business owners end up in feast-and-famine cycles or feel like their strategy "isn't working" despite doing the "right" things. Why your next level of growth may require more safety and capacity and not just another offer, strategy, or sales sprint. 203. You Asked, I Answered: ONE Question About Whether Revenue Share Is Right for Your Business
One of the questions I get asked most often is how I make the kind of money I do as a 1:1 coach. Right behind that is: How do you really feel about revenue share? Very quickly followed by: Do you think revenue share would work in my business? I've used a revenue share model for about five years, both as a client and as a coach. I'm still paying my own coach this way nearly eight years later, and I've built my entire 1:1 coaching practice around it. I've also seen (and love) clients and peers adopt this model after watching how it's worked for me. That said, I don't think revenue share is right for everyone. Like any business model, it comes with tradeoffs that are important to understand before opting in. That's why, in Episode 203 of ONE Question, I'm answering your question about whether revenue share is right for your business and sharing my unfiltered experience after years on both sides of this as a client and coach. Whether you're simply curious about revenue share, actively considering it for your business, or trying to understand how I think about scaling more broadly, this episode will help you think more clearly about what actually matters when choosing a business model. In this episode, you'll hear: Who revenue share does (and doesn't) work best for practically speaking. The real truth about control and speed when scaling with revenue share (and why this isn't a get-rich-quick strategy). The risk involved with this model and how I recommend protecting yourself if you use it. How revenue share encourages long-term relationships, retention, and deeper client results. What's been hardest for me on both sides of this model as a client and as a coach. The mindset work required to make revenue share sustainable (especially around boundaries, enoughness, and money). 202. ONE Question to Build the Right Kind of Demand and Scale Sustainably
Last year, I added $100k in additional revenue to my multi-six-figure coaching practice without launching a new offer, adding more complexity, or changing my business model. It wasn't because I posted more, worked harder, or increased ad spend (I've consistently maintained an 80% or more profit margin). But, I did focus on one thing most people overlook when they think about scaling a coaching or service-based business. That's why, in Episode 202, I'm sharing ONE question I've been asking myself for over a decade, and how it's helped me build the right kind of demand, stay fully booked with clients I genuinely love for seven years, increase capacity, and scale sustainably. In this episode, you'll hear: The primary strategy I'm focusing on in 2026 to scale my high-level coaching practice without burning out or wanting to burn it all down (and how this approach works across business models). Why scaling sustainably is really about solving a capacity problem and the three types of capacity that allow you to increase revenue without working harder. What I see many business owners overlook in the sales process, and why this matters if you want to avoid misaligned or draining client dynamics. The common way service providers misuse the term "right-fit client," and how this can sabotage growth, capacity, and getting (and staying) fully booked. 201. ONE Question to Get Visible, Stand Out, and Sell in an AI-Driven World with Sam DiNicola
It's not new news that things have changed online. Gone are the days where you can just post whatever, sit back, and watch the clients and sales roll in. So, if you've noticed your reach going down, content not working the way it used to, or a slow down of leads from social media, you're probably not imagining it. The way we're all consuming content and information has changed and even the way we're shopping, looking for recommendations, and deciding who to trust is changing faster than ever. Whether we like it or not, AI is a big part of that shift, especially when it comes to visibility in an AI-driven world. AI also isn't going anywhere, so ignoring it isn't a strategy (it's avoidance). That's why, when I heard my friend Sam DiNicola, the founder of Sam DiNicola Digital, a boutique marketing agency, talking about a strategy to get recommended on AI (not just ranked or seen), I knew I had to talk to her and bring her on the podcast. Join us in Episode 201, where Sam generously shares her decade of marketing experience and unpacks her ONE Question to Get Visible, Stand Out, and Sell in an AI-Driven World. In this episode, Sam and I talk about: The visibility strategy Sam is using with her clients that feels Gary Vee-ahead-of-the-curve (and why most people are already behind). How AI is changing reach, discovery, and being found and why this matters for your business even if you don't use AI at all. Why people are getting less traffic from social media, where that attention is actually going, and what you can implement to get seen and discovered by more right-fit leads. "AI slop," how it affects everyone (even original content creators), the trust recession, AEO, and what it really means to be discoverable when people aren't even "Googling" the way they used to How search behavior and buying behavior have fundamentally changed (ours included). The business advice that matters whether you're using AI, social media, or old-school marketing, and why we can't afford to ignore this shift if we don't want to be the Blockbuster of 2026. Whether or not you use AI in your business or plan to implement an AEO strategy, this is a valuable and relevant conversation for every business owner who wants to remain relevant and scale in 2026. 200. ONE Question I Use to Make and Have More Than Enough Money
Let's talk about money, honey. Because the more we talk about it, the more we normalize it, understand it, and get better at the game of money. Some of the most clarifying and helpful financial education I've had has come from having conversations with other business owners, and this turned out to be true again at a retreat I went to last year with 20+ multi-six and seven-figure business owners. What started as a conversation about our biggest lessons around wealth also showed me a common thread about how we think about safety, support, ambition, generosity, and what it actually means to feel "resourced" with money. Everyone came at their finances and wealth building from a different angle, but underneath it all was the same desire: to stop relating to money from pressure, scarcity, or proving, and the power of making decisions from steadiness and enoughness. That's why, in Episode 200, I'm unpacking ONE Question I use to make and have more than enough money and how I think about setting financial goals and building wealth, saving, investing, retirement, donating, and spending. In this episode, you'll hear: A behind-the-scenes look at what those retreat money conversations revealed about how successful business owners relate to money, safety, ambition, and making and having "enough." How I use one simple lens to make financial plans that support wealth-building, ensure I have what I need when I retire, and allow me to enjoy and spend my money now, without operating from fear or pressure. Why clarity around your numbers can create more freedom, better decisions, and less emotional charge around money. 199. ONE Question to Rethink Your Word of the Year
Word of the year has been one of my favorite reflection and personal growth practices since I learned about it in coach training over 12 years ago, and I've done it almost every year since. My words have shaped my growth, leadership, and even my business and this podcast. Unapologetic was my word the year we launched ONE Question: Unapologetic Questions for Unapologetic Results, and this practice continues to influence how I think, teach, and coach. As part of this practice, I always take time to review my word and how it challenged me, what it taught me, and where it stretched me before deciding on my focus and goals for the year ahead. That's why, in Episode 199, I'm unpacking ONE Question to rethink your word of the year and use it as a tool for deeper personal and business growth in 2026. In this episode, you'll hear: My word from 2025 (acknowledged), how it became a powerful teacher for me, and the biggest lessons and gifts it offered, including how it supported my biggest revenue year and cash months yet in business. How I think about the word of the year practice and use it throughout the year to support intentional growth and decision-making (hint: the "result" isn't just picking the word). ONE Question I use to uncover my growth edge and let my word and focus for the year ahead reveal itself. 198. ONE Question behind my biggest year in business yet (and stopping problems that don't exist)
About this time last year, I dove into one of my favorite practices to review, reflect, and set myself up for the new year ahead. I also added on something I've never done before, and it was eye-opening. It helped me spot how often I'd been getting in my own way and making business so much harder than it needed to be. That's why, in Episode 198, I'm unpacking ONE Question Behind My Biggest Year in Business Yet (and Stopping Problems That Don't Exist). In Episode 198, you'll hear: The surprising pattern I couldn't unsee, and the line in the sand I drew this time last year that helped me change the way I focus, take action, and show up. How to use this question to spot energy leaks, wasted time, and the ways we distract ourselves from what actually moves the needle. The concept of 'dissolving the problem' and how shifting your point of focus directly changes your results. The dirty little secret for many of us high achievers, and how we unknowingly sabotage momentum when things are actually going well. How I use the DBT Threat Assessment tool in business, plus the follow-up questions I ask when there is a real problem to solve. 197. ONE Question to Stop Abandoning Yourself and Lead Like a CEO
Real talk: I have everything I've ever wanted in business and life, and I also started my 44th birthday bawling. Not because I have an issue with getting older, but because I find it tough to have a whole day that's all about me. This episode is an honest look at the patterns so many high-achieving entrepreneurs play out without realizing it: being "fine," low-maintenance, hyper-independent, over-functioning, and abandoning ourselves while telling everyone we don't need anything and that we've "got it." I'm unpacking ONE Question I asked myself to shift this pattern and my birthday, and why your unapologetic answer to this question matters for you as a CEO if you want to be able to grow, scale, lead, and receive more of the good stuff (like success, money, and joy) without pushing it away or making it harder than it needs to be. In Episode 197, you'll hear: The sneaky way high achievers abandon themselves, why this is hard to spot, and how this might be limiting your capacity to earn and scale. The subtle ways we lie to ourselves without realizing it, how these patterns inform our identity, and how to shift into CEO-level self-leadership. The difference between being "mask up" and "mask down," and what patriarchy, good girl conditioning, and coping mechanisms have to do with it. An important reminder about blame, responsibility, and the real work that begins when you gain awareness of where you're overgiving or not getting your needs met. How to use this question to open yourself up to receive more, ask for support, and scale sustainably. 180. ONE Question to Thrive in ANY Season
We're officially in the homestretch of 2023, which is fun, exciting, and I know for many of you, also overwhelming. 179. ONE Question to Shift Out of Scarcity & Sell More with Service
One of the toughest sales skills is learning how to detach from results when you NEED a client or are feeling a little desperate for money. The concept of "leaning back" sounds GREAT in theory. But, in practice? When you've got bills to pay or are feeling the crunch of a dwindling bank balance, the nervous system likes to scream "LEAN IN and grasp onto whatever you can!" Scarcity brain is real - it's a survival thing, but unfortunately, not a success thing. That's why in this week's episode we're unpacking ONE Question to shift out of scarcity and sell more with service. In Episode 179, we jam on: the 30-day experiment during my early "struggle bus" years in business, how this simple commitment turned my mindset around, and helped me show up differently to sell and make my first $10k month. how you can use this ONE Question to stop "client hunting" online and market and sell from a place of service instead, that feels way better, AND makes it easier to bring in right-fit clients who love to pay you. the concept we're getting all wrong, the two types of people who sell the best and succeed the most, and why this is GREAT news for you as a caring, heart-centered human. why a "tit for tat" approach doesn't work in business, and the easiest, feel good way, to sell more and make more money. the kind of action that shifts you out of scarcity - without chanting affirmations - and how this approach helps you tap into an abundant mindset and overflow. 178. You Asked, I Answered: ONE Question About Why My Coaching Approach is "Wrong" & How That's Led to 28 Clients Making $10k Months
I do a lot "wrong" as a business owner and coach if you were to go based on some guidelines or coaching rules…but what I'm doing "wrong" is also working. 28 clients from my relatively small 1:1 roster with very little turnover have made $10k months or more. 15 clients of mine have gone from no business or early stages of business to six-figures, many clients have scaled to multi-six-figures ($250k, $500k, $700k, and $800k), and 3 clients have scaled to a million+. Just as importantly, countless clients have shared with me that they've completely changed the way they think about business and their relationship with their business and money. They have more confidence, better relationships, more stability, trust themselves to make decisions, feel more grounded, know how to hold more clients, success, and money, and are living the lives they've always vision boarded. That's why this week, I'm answering one of your unapologetic questions in You Asked, I Answered: ONE Question About Why My Coaching Approach is "Wrong" & How That's Led to 28 Clients Making $10k Months. In Episode 178, we jam on: how I think about my clients and how this informs my coaching philosophy, why this approach is "wrong" and might still work for you. the non-traditional way I support my clients, why I consciously choose to not follow some coaching teachings, and how this sets you up to hold your own clients, success, and make recurring revenue. what I've learned after 9.5 years of coaching 1:1, and my take that helps my clients have big shifts, transformations, and get record-breaking business results. 177. ONE Question for CEO Focus, Momentum, and Money
Raise your hand if you're an overthinker 💁🏼♀️ Don't lie. Did you stop to think about that first, lol? What if I told you your overthinking was also a part of what makes up your "CEO Superpowers". In fact, I'd bet that's what also allows you to be mindful, plan, connect the dots, anticipate needs, and problem solve. It's just likely not helping you out when it comes to focus, taking strategic action, and building the kind of momentum that leads to big results in business. That's why, in this week's episode, we're unpacking ONE Question for CEO focus, momentum, and money. In Episode 177, we jam on: The number one way I see smart entrepreneurs get in their own way, play small, and slow down or stop their growth altogether, and how to turn things around to get results. My hack for reducing overwhelm, whether that's from having audacious goals with what feels like a never-ending to-do list, or insecurities and worries of not being good enough, getting rejected, or being disappointed. How to use this question to create laser focus in your business and identify the next right steps to build momentum and help you reach your bigger picture business vision. The truth about your "CEO Superpowers" and what's helpful to remember so you're "using them for good" instead of falling to the "dark side". The common denominator among my clients who get the biggest results, whether that's going from $0 to six-figures to their first million dollar year, and how you can adopt the same approach for your own six and seven-figure results in business. In Episode 176, Jess and I jam on: Jess's mic drop moment that defines what powerful messaging and potent copy is all about so you understand the goal and focus of the words you choose for more sales. Jess's two-part, ONE Question you can ask to train your brain to think like a multi-six-figure business owner AND to spot what's missing when it comes to creating something that feels true, that feels believable, and that feels compelling. how to use this question to cut the fluff in your content so you can drill into more of what matters and build trust with your audience (hint: building trust = more conversions of every kind). shifting from being a lazy writer to spinning words of gold that connect with your people and as Jess says, "don't just convert, but compound." the truth about a quality question, great copy, and prolific work, and some real talk about mindset growth, the entrepreneurial journey, and the path to making more revenue. 175. ONE Question to *Actually* Do Less, Better for More Profitable Results
Anyone else decide this was the year to do less, better…only to find you're doing more, the same? 174. You Asked, I Answered: ONE Question to Know if Leveraging Paid Ads is Right for Your Business
Maybe you've seen someone post about how the quickest and easiest way to book out your business and make recurring revenue is through paid ads. Followed by someone like me talking about how I've built a booked out, multi-six-figure business that's generated $1.2 million in the past 4.5 years from 1:1 alone…without using ads. Kinda confusing, no?! Which one is it? Do you need paid ads to be able to make it to six and seven-figures in today's online space or are they a profit drain? Like most things in business, the answer is nuanced and specific to you and your business. Join me in this bite-size biz lesson, for my unapologetic answer to one of your unapologetic questions in You Asked, I Answered: ONE Question to Know if Leveraging Paid Ads is Right for Your Business. In Episode 174, we jam on: demystifying paid ad's role in your business so you can decide what makes the most sense for your model and the results you want. what I'd generally suggest having in place before turning on ads, the exception to this rule, and the one time I'd suggest anyone hold off on investing in paid ads. my thought process behind exploring paid ads in a program myself, and why I ultimately decided this wasn't the right next step forward and how to know if this is true for you, too. what you need to be willing to do to leverage ads in your business for low cost per leads that allow for big revenue wins that still pay you a profit. 173. ONE Question to Go From Waiting Tables to a $160k Month with Suzie Agelopoulos
You know what annoys me? I'm gonna tell you 😝 Messaging that tells you things like "It's unrealistic to think you can make $100k months" or "$100k months are only for bro marketers or shady coaches selling you their codes". Or any variation of essentially making you wrong for having a big revenue goal, wrong for wanting it, wrong for believing in it, wrong for thinking you can have it, and wrong for going after it. That said, I'm also not a big fan of marketing that pretends it's a hop, skip, and a jump, fueled by unicorn dust, to build a million dollar business. That's exactly why I was super excited to bring back one of our favorite past podcast guests, mastermind friend, and 7-figure Airbnb coach and Superhost since 2016, Suzie Agelopoulos, for some real talk about having big money goals, and what actually goes into jumping from waiting tables to $30k months, then $70k months, a $160k month, and a million dollar year. In Episode 173, Suzie basically gives us a Ted Talk on: the potent ONE Question she started asking herself when she was at her lowest level of income that helped her become a millionaire. the #1 shift Suzie made that helped her collapse time to speed up her revenue growth and jump to a $160k month. the hardest work and growth edge she leaned into - that's essential for every entrepreneur who wants to make and hold larger amounts of money, whether that's $10k or $100k months - and why it's worth it for more than your bank account balance. exactly why Suzie's called "the absolute manifestation, magnificent queen", what she does behind closed doors that gives her the awareness on exactly what she needs to notice and take action to quantum leap her results. The hard truth no recovering perfectionist or control freak wants to admit is that mistakes in business will happen. Whether you're running things solo or have a team of 1 or 100. Join me in this bite-size biz lesson, and my unapologetic answer to one of your unapologetic questions in You Asked, I Answered: ONE Question to Handle Team Mistakes Like a Leader.
