Micah Voraritskul - Created to Create
Created to Create: God, Humanity, and the Age of AIGod is the ultimate creative, and we bear God’s image when we create. As AI reshapes our world with words and ideas, we don’t need to fear it–we need to engage it faithfully, with wisdom and courage, as people called to reflect the Creator and engage in culture.Micah Voraritskul is the author of Human Is the New Vinyl and founder of VerifiedHuman™. He challenges Christians to see AI not with fear but with faith–because God is the Creator, and we are made, Imago Dei, to co-create with God. Dr. Thomas Jay Oord - God After Deconstruction
Join me as I discuss the book God After Deconstruction with co-author Dr. Thomas Jay OordDeconstruction is hard!Bad views of God and harmful experiences lead many of us to deconstruct. But we’re right to run from the nonsense we’ve been taught and from those who hurt us.God After Deconstruction will not be welcomed by traditionalists. It’s not a book for people who want the status quo or who think conventional theology works. It isn’t for people who just want to tweak a bit what they’ve been taught.Thomas Jay Oord and Tripp Fuller offer an open and relational vision of God. This vision makes sense; it fits our experience; it’s livable. The open and relational view aligns with our deep intuitions about love and freedom.God After Deconstruction is for those deconstructing and those wanting help after deconstruction. It’s for people in the fire and those with scars.God After Deconstruction is an adventure for lovers in tumultuous times!https://thomasjayoord.com/https://c4ort.com/https://www.northwindseminary.org Get full access to Parson Brown at blog.parsonbrown.page/subscribe

Aaron Simmons
Join me as I have a conversation with Dr. J Aaron Simmons about his new book, Camping With Kierkegaard: Faithfulness as a Way of Life. We'll talk about a definition of faith and how we look at what is worthy of our finitude. We even look at how 90's Hip Hop and Kierkegaard can intersect.J. Aaron Simmons was born near the Hiwassee River in Tennessee, grew up near the beaches of Florida, and now lives near the Carolina mountains. Simmons paid his way through college by working construction and playing drums professionally. He is now a professor of philosophy at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and specializes in philosophy of religion, existentialism, and phenomenology. Having published widely, Simmons is the author or editor of numerous books including God and the Other (Indiana University Press), The New Phenomenology (Bloomsbury), Christian Philosophy (Oxford University Press), Kierkegaard’s God and the Good Life (Indiana University Press), and Re-Examining Deconstruction and Determinate Religion (Duquesne University Press), among others. An award-winning teacher, Simmons’s essays have appeared in some of the most distinguished journals in philosophy and religious studies, and he is a widely sought-after public speaker. Simmons is the former President of the Søren Kierkegaard Society (USA), the former President of the South Carolina Society for Philosophy, sits on the Executive Board of the Society for Continental Philosophy and Theology, and has held other professional positions with the Society of Christian Philosophers and The American Academy of Religion. Simmons is actively engaged in public philosophy on his influential YouTube channel, “Philosophy for Where We Find Ourselves,” and he has been interviewed for numerous podcasts. An avid mountain biker and trout fisherman, Simmons thinks philosophy is always relevant to life. He has been married to his wife, Vanessa for 22 years and they have a thirteen-year-old son, Atticus, who loves parkour and skateboarding. His new broad audience book, Camping with Kierkegaard: Faithfulness as a Way of Life (Wisdom/Work), seeks to bring existential philosophy together with a life of meaning (especially in the outdoors).
