    3. Mirror Shrine (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMye2wgBoXI FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged This is the theme of the Mirror Shrine, the hub world of Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. It was a cloudy land in the sky filled with magical mirrors. I wanted my arrangement to be appropriately mystical. A soft choir creates that heavenly, angelic feeling. A variety of "twinkling" instruments, including the glockenspiel, celesta, and music box, keep the melody feeling light and airy. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura *Re-uploaded to fix audio issues*

Bonus Track: Carrot Castle (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQfPOVWX8gY FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged In Amazing Mirror, Carrot Castle shares its music with Moonlight Mansion for some reason. As a little bonus, I decided to write a variation of Moonlight Mansion's theme, to make it more fitting for a royal medieval castle. I slowed it down a bit, and used string and brass ensembles, orchestral percussion, a French horn, tubular bells, and a harpsichord to create that regal feel. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    19. Ending (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz7RsAdu4hk FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged Here we are: the ending! What a cheerful song. It has everything defines Amazing Mirror's soundtrack, such as the funky slap bass and strong brass presence. I tried to stay pretty faithful to the original song here, with a little more of that cheesy 80s feel! Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    18. Goal Game (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zVz3Vdfhgc FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged I went full-on 80s with this one, making use of hard rock guitars and some cheesy synths. I decided to have some fun - because it is such a short and simple song, I wrote an original solo on the organ to spice things up! Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    14. Boss (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1qd4kauL-Y FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged I took on a full-out rock arrangement, which is something I've never really done before. As a genre, it is somewhat out of my comfort/knowledge zone, so I researched a variety of heavy metal drum patterns to use. My guitar samples aren't the best, but I think I made it work well with what I have at my disposal. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    13. Mini Boss (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2-2JclWZNs FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged This song is actually a remix of the classic boss theme from Kirby's Adventure. I tried to translate it into an intense orchestral battle theme. To mix things up, I added a couple brass flourishes and tubular bell strikes. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    12. Candy Constellation (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs4kD4yUQ1k FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged This song was always my favourite track from Amazing Mirror, and still is. I really wanted to get this one right, as it holds special significance for me. I really tried to capture that triumphant, beautiful, spacey-feel with the bubbly harps, delicate celesta, and epic tubular bells. The second statement of the chorus was inspired by the arrangement of this song from Kirby & the Rainbow Curse - I added a choir and a brass section to really build up the emotion. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    11. Radish Ruins (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_tF7BcGCok FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged For Radish Ruins, I knew I'd have to keep that epic orchestral feeling, which is a tricky task. The staccato hits in the orchestral ensemble really give this song an immense symphonic feeling. I decided to add some interesting strings and woodwinds, as well as a resounding gong, for a little bit of Eastern flavour. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    10. Peppermint Palace (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4gecLG74bc FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged I wanted to give this theme a fittingly wintry feeling. The original song feels very chilly, but also quite festive and comforting. The steady sleigh bells, ringing of church bells, and the handbell chorus in the melody make it feel very whimsical and festive. I've also added a faint choir to evoke Christmas caroling. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    9. Olive Ocean (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKYL3rCOaQg FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged Olive Ocean's theme has always conveyed "danger" to me. I used some moody strings and deep, dark brass to create this feeling. The orchestral staccato hits make this song feel immense and foreboding, just like the ocean. I also used large cymbal sweeps and shimmering crashes to convey the image of crashing ocean waves. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    7. Cabbage Cavern (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUjChyL7HCs FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged This is Cabbage Cavern, which is itself a remix of the "Forest Stage" theme from Kirby's Adventure. I wanted it to have a sort of old school hip-hop style beat. I chose to use some echoey xylophones and marimbas throughout to create a moody, 'underground' vibe. To mix it up, I used some woodwinds instead of just brass for the melody. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

  16. 43

    6. Moonlight Mansion (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQfPOVWX8gY FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged Here is the theme of Moonlight Mansion. I went for a chipper electronic style, with lots of squares and saws and overall chiptune-y sounds. The electronic sounds and techno percussion contrasts with the natural feel of the woodwind melody. I've also added a synth brass section for more impact in the harmonies. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    4. Intro Stage (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1pyGYjcQF0 FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged This is the theme from the beginning tutorial stage. It sort of foreshadows later themes such as Rainbow Route and Moonlight Mansion in terms of its sound. I stuck fairly true to the original, with flutes and strings taking the lead. As you can tell, the bassline plays a prominent role in this soundtrack. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    16. Dark Mind (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPblstqNM1o FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged This track was by far the most difficult for me to arrange. I made it mostly rock, with some orchestral elements. I really hope I did it justice! For some reason, this song borrows from Olive Ocean's melody. For that part, I used a string ensemble, full choir, church organ, and some frantic scale runs on the grand piano to create the intense feeling of an ultimate battle. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    15. Dark Meta Knight (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ilxjnz7zCSw FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged My immediate thought for Dark Meta Knight was that he needs an intense orchestral-rock theme. I hope I achieved this: I used lots of loud brass, string staccatos, and epic choirs. The first fifteen seconds are actually Dark Meta Knight's Encounter theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2okZP1Brm-o Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    8. Mustard Mountain (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0ZCwramhCU FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged Of all of the tracks, this is the one I've probably departed most from the original. While the original track had an epic orchestral feel, I wanted to do a more slowed down and 'worldly' arrangement. Nintendo often opts for Indian or Middle Eastern style music when composing for fire themed levels, so that's what I chose. I've used many ethnic instruments including the sitar, bansuri, shenhai, and tabla to add that scorching Eastern flair. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

  21. 38

    5. Rainbow Route (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0lJXkLFraM FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged Now we get into the interesting songs. Here is the theme of the first level: Rainbow Route, one of my favourites! It has a steady, march-like feel, so I used militaristic snare patterns, bombastic cymbal crashes, and powerful timpani strikes. I really wanted to emphasize the brass as well, so I added a tuba to the bassline, and made sure the trumpet flourishes and harmonies sounded appropriately triumphant. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    1. Title Screen (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyFU182rOCo FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged Since the original song was so short, I added a couple variations for it to cycle through. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

Happy Happy is Blue (Psychedelic EarthBound Cover)

Sort of a strange choice for a cover, I know. I just felt compelled to create an arrangement of this song completely out of the blue! (GET IT?) This is the theme of EarthBound's insane cultists, the Happy Happyists, who are obsessed with the colour blue. I wanted to go full-out psychedelic with this cover, which ultimately led me to drawing influence from none other than the Beatles. The world and the music of EarthBound have many connections to the Beatles, both in-game and in terms of development - Shigesato Itoi himself was a huge Beatles fan, so many references to the Beatles show up through EarthBound's soundtrack and dialogue. I chose the sitar and tambura inspired by the Indian sounds of "Norwegian Wood," "Tomorrow Never Knows," and "Within You Without You," to name a few. The mellotron and reverse-cymbal effect was inspired by "Strawberry Fields Forever." The cello was influenced by "I am the Walrus." In other news: my Kirby & the Amazing Mirror arranged soundtrack is nearly finished! If all goes according to plan, I will release the entire album this Friday! It will have 20 songs from Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, arranged in a variety of styles. I'm very excited to share it with you, so please stay tuned! ~~~~~ EarthBound is the property of Ape Inc. and Shigesato Itoi "Happy Happy is Blue" originally composed by Hirokazu Tanaka, Keiichi Suzuki and Hiroshi Kanazu Arrangement made in FL Studio using Kontakt 5 Sound Libraries used: Kontakt Factory Library

    17. Sparkling Stars / Victory Dance (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_nzMFWbMhY FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged I thought I'd change things up a little bit here, otherwise this song would be very short. I expanded upon the usual "sparkling stars" motif heard at the end of every Kirby level, turning it into a simple ambient tune with a string section and a reference to "Green Greens" on the harp. Then I arranged the Kirby victory dance into a bouncy orchestral fanfare! Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    2. Menu (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged)

ORIGINAL TRACK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9wTkIJa9bs FULL ALBUM: https://soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/kirby-the-amazing-mirror-arranged The original song almost sounds like there are voices singing, to me at least. For my interpretation I used a mellotron choir to keep that quirky sound. To add more interest to this rather short and repetitive song, I added a simple string section half way through. Soundtrack originally composed by Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura

    The Roost (Animal Crossing Cover)

Here is my cover of Animal Crossing's "The Roost"! It's been quite a while since I've done an Animal Crossing arrangement. I drew a lot of inspiration from the Brawl version, as well as the acoustic version from New Leaf. I wanted this cover to have a relaxing (and somewhat cheesy) lounge vibe. You may notice I've incorporated K. K. Slider's iconic whistling! Also, the very final part is inspired by the sounds of the Museum: a soft harp and faint ticking of a clock. This song was suggested by Asriel🍆 in my suggestion box! Asriel has been a dedicated listener, which I greatly appreciate. Water Dungeon

This is a concept for a dungeon theme, inspired by The Legend of Zelda. I imagine it to be a water-themed dungeon. I wanted to create a layering effect where the song gradually builds up over time; maybe each layer of music would correlate to a floor in the temple. Inspirations: Dungeon themes from... -The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past - Koji Kondo -The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Koji Kondo -The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Toru Minegishi & Asuka Ohta -The Legend of Zelda: a Link Between Worlds - Ryo Nagamatsu ~~~~~ Made in FL Studio using Kontakt 5 Please read the description of the Demo Reel playlist for more information: soundcloud.com/pixelchips/sets/video-game-music-demo-reel

    "Unexpected Misfortune" (Character Theme Concept)

This is a concept for a potential video game character's theme. This song would fit a spooky trickster type character. City Trial (Kirby Air Ride Cover)

City Trial is definitely my favourite part of Kirby Air Ride - and the music is my favourite song in the game. There isn't nearly enough good covers/remixes of this amazing song, so here's my attempt at it. I hope you like it! You can also listen to a version without the drum kit on my alternate account: https://soundcloud.com/user-825935692/city-trial-kirby-air-ride-cover-no-drums Just a little update - I've done a bit of re-branding! Cool Beans! (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Medley)

Hi everyone! At long last, I've finished my university semester! Now I'll have plenty of time to work on music, which is very exciting. I have many songs in the works, both original and covers, so stay tuned! For now, here's a medley of one of my favourite Mario games: Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga! The Mario & Luigi series is just tons of fun, and Superstar Saga in particular brings back lots of fond memories. I've always felt that a lot of the songs from this game share a similar rhythm, so I decided to turn a few of my favourites into a medley. First there's the Beanbean Kingdom theme, which served the basis for the instrumentation and style of this medley. I've always loved how relaxing this song is. Next is the title theme of the game, which I though would blend pretty smoothly from the first part of the medley. The final song is the regular battle theme, "Come On!", which I've always found super catchy. I hope you enjoy it! ~~~~~ Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is the property of Nintendo "Welcome to the Beanbean Kingdom!", "Preparing for Travelling", and "Come On!" originally composed by Yoko Shimomura Arrangement made in FL Studio using Kontakt 5 Sound Libraries used: Kontakt Factory Library

Sunset Steeple (Kirby's Return to Dreamland - "Sky Tower" Cover)

Hi everybody! Today was my birthday! So here's a little cover of one of my all-time favourite Nintendo songs: "Sky Tower" from Kirby's Return to Dreamland! I've really been enjoying this song lately. Thankfully HAL seems to like it as well, as it has returned in just about every Kirby game since! It really seems like it's becoming a "classic" Kirby tune, joining the ranks with Green Greens and Gourmet Race. This arrangement has been dancing around in my head for quite some time now. One day, the idea for this cover - with the little chiptuney GameBoy bits - just 'hit' me. I knew exactly how I wanted it to sound and just went from there, which doesn't happen often for me. Well, I hope you like this arrangement: a little bit of new, a little bit of nostalgia. I've been working on a demo reel of original music that I hope to get up pretty soon, so stay tuned for that. Now, time for me to play some more Breath of the Wild! Fire Emblem (Bossa Nova Cover)

Hello my friends! It's been a while... I've been quite busy, so I apologize for the lack of uploads. Here's something a little new from me. This is a Bossa Nova style cover of the fan-favourite "Fire Emblem" song from Super Smash Bros. Melee! I think it's one of the most iconic of the Melee arrangements. I'm a little bit nervous, as my Fire Emblem knowledge is pretty limited - I haven't played much Fire Emblem besides Sacred Stones. I do like the music, which is why I made this cover. Hopefully I did this beloved song justice! Thanks for listening! Hoping you're all doing well. I've been working on some fun music - including some original pieces - that I hope to get out soon. Warrior of Neo Olde Tokyo - The Steel Samurai's Theme (Phoenix Wright Orchestral Cover)

Hi everyone! Hope you're doing well. I played through the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney over the holidays, and it's quite an enjoyable game. I particularly like the music; Capcom always seems to knock it out of the park with their soundtracks. I wanted to cover a song from the game, and as soon as I made it to the "Turnabout Samurai" chapter, I knew this was the one. That was my favourite story in the game, and I really like the intensity and excitement that this song provided throughout. It's a good mix of traditional Japanese music and cheesy 80s TV show theme songs! I've used some of Kontakt's world instruments such as the Shakuhachi flute to create a classical Japanese feel. I hope you enjoy it! I've been working on some other tracks that I'm looking forward to uploading in the near future. Until then, take care! Snowy (Undertale Winter Medley)

Hello there! And Merry Christmas Eve, to those who will be celebrating tomorrow! Here is my final holiday video game arrangement: it's a festive Undertale medley! This piece is an orchestration of three tunes associated with the wintry town of Snowdin: "Snowy", "Snowdin Town", and the shop theme. There's also a couple other motifs from other recurring Undertale tracks throughout this song. I have to say, I'm quite proud with how this one turned out. I hope you enjoy it too! Overall I've had a ton of fun working on these Christmas tunes for you. Hopefully these have added to the merriment of this wonderful time of year! I want to take this time to sincerely thank you all for listening to my tunes and showing your support through likes and follows. It means so much to me! Thanks for an amazing year, everyone. Cool Cruising (Mario Kart 64 / Double Dash - Winter Mashup)

Hi again! Hope you've been enjoying these festive tunes so far. This is an orchestral mash-up of two of my favourite snow-themed Mario Kart courses: Frappe Snowland from Mario Kart 64, and Sherbet Land from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! I was originally going to cover Frappe Snowland by itself, but I realized that Sherbet Land's melody worked pretty well alongside it. Tomorrow I will be uploading a teaser track from my future album; Kirby & the Amazing Mirror: Arranged (yes, I am still working on that)! It will of course be winter themed. Fans of the game will know exactly which track I'm talking about! ;) Then, for Christmas Eve, I have a special holiday orchestration that I'm super excited to share. Chilly Lullaby (Pikmin 2 - "Valley of Repose" Remix)

Hey! Here is my second holiday VGM cover for the season. Pikmin 2 is one of my all-time favourite games: I love the beautiful and peaceful yet mysterious and dangerous atmosphere of the world. The gameplay is just so interesting and endearing and reflects Miyamoto's typically ingenuity. Plus, what's not to love about the adorable pikmin? I just love the Pikmin series so much, so its nice to finally be covering a song from one of the games. I've been wanting to for quite a while. This arrangement is quite a departure from my usual style. I was inspired to create this sort of orchestral-hiphop sound after hearing the Nintendoland arrangement of this song. While not quite a hip-hop style beat, it had this neat sounding rhythm that gave the piece a new feeling and sense of energy. I wanted to work with a similar concept, but in a different way. This style is way out of my comfort zone, so this piece was a bit of an experiment for me. As I've mentioned before, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to making beats. Plus, I had to recreate a lot the melody by ear, as there is not much in terms of midis or sheet music for this song. So, hopefully this turned out okay! That's it for today. Have a good one! Tune in tomorrow for a cover of some wintry Mario Kart levels :) ~~~~~ Pikmin is the property of Nintendo "Valley of Repose" originally composed by Hajime Wakai Arrangement made in FL Studio using Kontakt 5 Sound Libraries used: Kontakt Factory Library, Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra, FL Studio Library, Triforce NES Synthesizer

    Snowman (Holiday EarthBound Cover)

Hello, and happy holidays! I hope you're all doing well. Well, the holiday season is here once again. To celebrate, and I've planned something fun: starting with today, I will be uploading a Christmas/winter-themed video game arrangement every day until Christmas Eve! Yes, that's a total of five festive video game tunes, for your enjoyment! I've been working on these tunes for many weeks in preparation. I hope you will enjoy them! Today, we have Snowman, from the Mother series. Last year I did Winters from EarthBound (and you might hear a little callback to that in this track), so it was only natural to do this tune for this year's holiday season. Snowman is quite a beautiful tune, and can really just be described as cold and wintry. I decided to add a drumkit to give my arrangement a bit more energy. I have to say, I've been loving my new sound libraries; I hope you're liking how they sound as well! Also, I recently realized that, for the past five months, all of my video game covers have been from EarthBound, Undertale or Mario... It wasn't intentional, I promise! I hope to bring more variety very soon :) In fact, tomorrow's holiday tune will break the pattern - its not from EarthBound, Undertale, or a Mario game. Actually, it is from a game that I have never covered before, until now! Tune in tomorrow if you're interested in hearing it. Anyway, that's all for now; thank you for listening. A Short Break in Toad Town (Bowser's Inside Story - Orchestral Arrangement)

Hi everybody - Sorry for the lack of new songs. I really intended to upload a song for November, but I just couldn't fit it in: November is such a crazy time at university, and the one song I had planned to upload ran into some frustrating technical difficulties. But here I am with a new tune, so on to the good news! You might hear a difference in sound for this track. That's because I finally got around to buying Kontakt! I picked it up during the Thanksgiving sale, and I'm super excited use it some more. The instruments are of much greater quality and variety than anything that I've previously used. I just wanted to create a nice little orchestral arrangement, nothing too crazy. This piece was mainly for practicing orchestration, but I think it turned out pretty good! I was inspired to do this song after listening to Jonathan Aldrich's piano cover - he is very talented, but underrated, by the way (if you like video game covers, especially Mario, Kirby, and EarthBound, check him out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq40ak4VJQW0ZICTcPCY3mw). His video really reminded me of how lovely this song this is. Yoko Shimomura, as usual, did a fantastic job with this game's soundtrack. More good news: it'll be Christmas break! To make up for my lack of uploading this past month, I will be posting a number of songs to celebrate the holidays! They will be winter/Christmas themed video game covers - I'm really excited to show you what I have planned. I'll share more details later in the month, so stay tuned! Idle Vengeance (Mother 3 - "Unfounded Revenge" Orchestrated)

Hey! It's been a while. This is my cover of Unfounded Revenge from Mother 3, which I teased a while back. Also, the intro sequence is Porky's Theme. Unfortunately, I haven't played Mother 3 yet. I hope to one day play it when it is officially released in North America! But from what I've heard of the soundtrack, it's fantastic. This is a stand-out song, so I just had to cover it. I went all-out bombastic and zany for this one - hopefully it isn't too loud for you! There's not much else to say really - this one was a lot of fun to do. In other news, I plan to announce a pretty big project soon (it relates to my video game covers), so look forward to that in the near future. ~~~~~ Mother/EarthBound is property of Ape Inc. and Shigesato Itoi "Porky's Theme" and "Unfounded Revenge" originally composed by Shogo Sakai Arrangement made in FL Studio, using Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/ ~~~~~ Update: Thank you for 1000 plays! Rogueport (Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door Orchestrated)

Well, here is the finished version of the Rogueport cover I teased last month! I went for a orchestral arrangement, with some 'exotic' sounding flair. Joining the more typical instruments is a sitar, as well as some bongos and congas. The percussion during the second part of the initial melody was heavily inspired by the fantastic (but unfortunately very brief) Rogueport section of the "Paper Mario Medley" from the latest Super Smash Bros. Overall I just really wanted to capture that amazing feeling from the first two Paper Mario games. What can I say about The Thousand-Year Door? It was my all-time favourite nostalgic childhood game, and may still be my personal favourite video game of all time. It simply nailed everything: a clean, appealing artstyle; instantly-lovable and memorable characters; a great sense of humour and charm; and a surprisingly enthralling story. It took the first Paper Mario (also a great game), and brought the gameplay to the next level. The combat is the right balance between simplicity and complexity; it is so dynamic and engaging. The music just has this unique, distinct quality unlike any other video game's soundtrack. I honestly maintain that TTYD is one of the best games ever made. ~~~~~ Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door is property of Nintendo "Rogueport" originally composed by Yoshito Hirano and Yuka Tsujiyoko Arrangement made in FL Studio, using Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/

His Theme (Undertale - Orchestral Arrangement)

I know I've already posted a few Undertale songs, hopefully you aren't getting too tired of it! Here's a little arrangement to tide you over while I'm finishing up some of my bigger projects. I'm hoping that my next track will be a full version of one of the teasers I uploaded a little while ago. I'm pretty excited about some of the songs I have in the works, so please look forward to that. Anyway, this is "His Theme" from Undertale, but I've also mixed in a few other motifs that I'm sure that diehard fans of the game will recognize. I personally really enjoy this tune, it really effectively captured the building up of emotion in that part of the game's story. Also, I played around with adding some 'ambience' to the song - I incorporated some rainy sounds as a reference to the first time this melody is heard in game. Hopefully this enhances the song and isn't too distracting. To anyone who may be reading this, I hope you're doing well. Please enjoy this track, and stay tuned for some of my future songs! ~~~~~ Undertale is property of Toby Fox "His Theme" originally composed by Toby Fox Arrangement made in FL Studio, using Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/

Halls of Hyrule (A Link to the Past - Castle Theme Cover)

This one has been a long time coming. I've had this one in the works for quite a while: mostly just tweaking it, because I was never quite satisfied with the sound. Honestly, I'm still not sure if I like how it turned out, but maybe I'm just at that point where I've heard too many times. I actually considered abandoning it completely and not uploading it at all - but then I thought, why not put it out there anyway, somebody might enjoy it. Anyway, a Link to the Past is one of those great games that I feel everybody should experience. It is amazing; and it's soundtrack is appropriately legendary. I've always been fond of the Hyrule Castle theme, and I've been itching to cover it for a long time now. So here it is. Battle Against a Ghostly Opponent (Undertale's "Ghost Fight" in the style of EarthBound)

I created this arrangement to practice writing songs using EarthBound's soundfont. It's one of my favourite Undertale songs, "Ghost Fight", in the style of an EarthBound battle theme. I think it turned out fairly good for my first try, I hope you enjoy it! ~~~~~ Mother/EarthBound is property of Ape Inc. and Shigesato Itoi Undertale is property of Toby Fox "Ghost Fight" originally composed by Toby Fox Arrangement made in FL Studio Image by TheAwesomeFace on reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Undertale/comments/3tjc0a/you_encounter_napstablook/) ~~~~~ Thank you for 1000 plays! Athletic Theme (Yoshi's Island - Swing Arrangement)

Hello again! Here's my arrangement of Yoshi's Island catchy Athletic Theme. I've always thought it sounded a lot like Dixieland / New Orleans stlye swing. So I went for a Big Band style arrangement, inspired by tunes such as The Charleston. Deep in Thought (EarthBound Beginnings - "Magicant" Cover)

Here is Magicant, from EarthBound Beginnings/Mother. I thought it would be appropriate to upload a song from Mother on Mother's Day. I've been having a lot of fun playing around with samples and soundfonts from the EarthBound series. I figured it might be cool to incorporate some samples into this song, almost like little memories of the many adventures throughout the Mother games. I'm sure that keen fans of the series will recognize the samples and instruments I've used. Finale (Undertale - Orchestral Arrangement)

Here we have "Finale", from Undertale. Be warned, this song is from the very ending of a neutral playthrough, so if you want to avoid spoilers I'd recommend not listening to this song or reading any further. It could spoil a pretty significant twist for those with a keen ear. ~~~SPOILERS BELOW~~~ "Finale" is one of the many Undertale tracks that really stood out to me. It does the perfect job of instilling that "now's my chance!" feeling that a final boss fight needs. It's a nice contrast to the excruciating bullet-hell phase that came before it, which really felt like you were being tormented by an otherworldly abomination. Just as you think there's no hope left and the universe is about to fall apart around you, Flowey's defense drops to zero, and this glorious, triumphant song plays. Now you know it's time to end it once and for all! I really wanted to capture these same feelings, but in an orchestral form. I tried to keep it's bombastic and triumphant sound - it was quite fun to go crazy with the cymbals and timpani. This has definitely been one of my most ambitious arrangements yet, so I sincerely hope you enjoy it! ~~~~~ Undertale is property of Toby Fox "Finale" originally composed by Toby Fox Arrangement made in FL Studio, using Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/ ~~~~~ Update: 7000+ plays is just surreal... Skulduggery (Don't Starve - Main Theme Cover)

Don't Starve is a super fun, addictive game (especially Don't Starve Together, the server-based multiplayer expansion). It has a great aesthetic: a grim, Tim Burton-esque art style with a fittingly 'sinister' soundtrack. So, here is my arrangement of the main theme of Don't Starve, with a little bit of Don't Starve Together mixed in as well. I've always loved how well the theme song captures the feel of the game; it sounds like eerie, twisted carnival music. For the first time, I've added a theremin (one of my favourite unconventional instruments) for some extra spooky flair. I hope you enjoy it! ~~~~~ Don't Starve is property of Klei Entertainment "Don't Starve Theme" originally composed by Vince de Vera and Jason Garner Arrangement made in FL Studio, using Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/

Red Dragon March (Super Mario Land - "Chai Kingdom" Cover)

I went for a style quite different than my typical orchestral arrangements: the Chai kingdom is heavily inspired by Chinese culture, so for this cover, I tried to emulate the style of traditional Chinese music. I used lots of pipes, plucked strings, gongs, and shakers to create that East Asian sound. The percussion was particularly fun to do: I made a really thump-y, march-like beat because I wanted it to sound like it would fit right into a festival or parade. Hopefully I've captured this feeling with this arrangement. It's a little on the shorter side (the original song loop is about 45 seconds long...), but I hope you enjoy! ~~~~~ Super Mario Land is property of Nintendo "Chai Kingdom" originally composed by Hirokazu Tanaka Arrangement made in FL Studio, using Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/

Super Mario Bros. in the style of Jun Ishikawa

Here's a full version of the Mario-Kirby crossover song I uploaded a little while back. Essentially this is the main theme of Super Mario Bros, arranged in the style of Jun Ishikawa - the composer for most of the classic Kirby games. It's basically a tribute to two of my favourite video game musicians! I used the soundfont from Kirby's Dream Land 3. The arrangement took inspiration from many Kirby tunes including Green Greens, Butter Building, Gourmet Race, and Vegetable Valley. I even combined the two series' "game over" melodies at the end! Please enjoy! ~~~~~ Super Mario Bros. and Kirby are properties of Nintendo Super Mario Bros. Yearnings of the Wind (Chrono Trigger Cover)

Happy New Years, everybody! I hope your 2015 was a good one! Here's a cover of the popular Wind Scene from Chrono Trigger, one of the best games I've ever played. I stayed pretty true to the original song, but tried to add in a few new touches, such as the addition of the grand piano, and a beat that almost sounds like a ticking clock. I figured this song was pretty fitting for New Years Day, given Chrono Trigger's theme of reflecting on the past and looking toward the future. Speaking of, let's talk about the future. I have some plans for 2016! This year, I aim to release: -Original songs -Non-video game covers -Maybe some sheet music -Maybe even some collaborations! And of course I'll be continuing my usual video game covers. I have many exciting songs on my to-do list! I'd like to take this time to thank everybody who has supported me so far. This year, the number of my followers, plays, and likes more than tripled. It may not look like much, but it means a lot to me. To those who listen, like, and share my songs - thank you so much. And special thanks to my followers for sticking with me! ~~~~~ Chrono Trigger is property of Square Enix "Yearnings of the Wind" originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda Arrangement made in FL Studio, using Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/
