    Conserving and celebrating the heritage of the Carneddau

    Why are Welsh place names so important in Eryri?

    A workshop was held in partnership with the Comisiynydd y Gymraeg and the National Library of Wales for our Wardens at Plas Tan y Bwlch to record and celebrate place names in Eryri.Wherever we go in the world, place names reflect the character of communities and give meaning to the land and its features. They remind us of our place in the world – both geographically and culturally – and in Eryri, they are part of what makes the National Park so special.

    Snowdonia National Park is the second area in Wales to be designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve.
