In this episode of God’s unfolding story, humanity is united—one language, one location, one ambition. Settling on the plains of Shinar, the people dream up a project that will make their name echo through history: a tower reaching to the heavens. What begins as creativity quickly mutates into collective pride, self-reliance, and a desire to secure identity apart from God. But God comes down to inspect their monument of arrogance. Seeing how their unified rebellion will only accelerate human ruin, He intervenes—not with wrath, but with mercy. By confusing their language and scattering them across the earth, God restrains their pride, redirects humanity’s path, and ensures that His plan for the nations—not human self-glory—will prevail. The episode ends not with a tower that touches the sky, but with a fractured people whose many languages testify to both human pride and God’s protective grace. And the stage is now set for the next chapter—where God will call one man, Abram, to become a blessing to all the nations born from Babel’s scattering.

In Acts 15:1–36, the early church faces a major controversy when some men from Judea insist that Gentile converts must be circumcised according to the Law of Moses to be saved. Paul and Barnabas disagree strongly, leading the church in Antioch to send them to Jerusalem to consult the apostles and elders. At the Jerusalem Council, Peter argues that God has already accepted the Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to the Jews, and that salvation comes through grace, not the law. James supports this view and proposes a letter advising Gentile believers to abstain from a few specific practices (idols, sexual immorality, meat from strangled animals, and blood) to promote unity. The church agrees and sends the letter with Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas alongside Paul and Barnabas to Antioch. The message is well received, bringing encouragement and peace. Later, Paul suggests revisiting the churches they had planted. However, he and Barnabas disagree over taking John Mark, leading them to part ways—Barnabas takes Mark, and Paul chooses Silas. In this passage Bro. John highlights early church unity, the role of grace in salvation, and how disagreements were handled with wisdom and respect.

Romans 11 is dissected so much so often that we lose the flow and thought that Paul was originally intending for his first century audience. We see this passage rooted in a magnificent mystery that dates back to the patriarch Jacob which has tremendous significance on the understanding and revelation of that mystery.

Romans 10 is no doubt the magnificent Gospel for us to believe. However if you understand how Paul roots the Gospel in an Old Testament quote and understanding it will make so much sense in how God is continuing His promise to His People!

Here we are going to take a look at a passage that is often seen as a defense for election or predestination however it is so much more than that.
