Don't forget the Holy Spirit If you are in a relationship w/ God then you have His Spirit. He does many things for us. We started off by talking about how He challenges us about our sinfulness. Now we talk about He transforms us from slavery into freedom.

Don't forget the Holy Spirit. He is powerful in our lives if we will work with Him.Today, I share an unbelievable story that my wife and I witnessed at a restaurant. I'm sure you have heard similar stories, and who knows, you may have been part of one. I hope you will listen and be challenged to be sensitive to the Spirit of God in this situation. This story may change your life. Romans 12 9-21. Read it. Read it slowly and prayerfully. It for certain will change how you live.

First of all, this podcast is rough. I had a busy week. For reasons I will keep to myself, I had to change directions a little on this series about the Holy Spirit, and a ton of challenging things were happening in our ministry. I'm grateful for God's grace, love, and faithfulness, and for His patience with me. He is GOOD! But I fall short. I feel like I let you down on this one, but hopefully, by God's kindness and the Holy Spirit's intervention, there will be something you can learn from this. Hopefully, the next one will be better.Conviction. We all love to be convinced, right? WRONG!! Haha! If we are being convicted, it means we have been doing something wrong. That is what the Holy Spirit does. He keeps us aware when we start straying from holiness. He brings us to God through conviction, and He keeps us with God with His conviction. I hope you are challenged to be like Christ and to remember the Holy Spirit's great work in your life. We don't want to be chained to sin anymore.

We think about God a lot. We think maybe even more about Jesus. But often we forget all about the Holy Spirit and His home...us.What is He responsible for? Can we reduce His power and effectiveness? Can we ignore Him and be Christlike? Why is He needed at all? Over the next 11 weeks, we will learn so much about the Holy Spirit that we will never let Him slip our minds again.

Based on the book "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan - Chapter 10.When we learn something we should apply. It there is a lot to learn about the love of God and what our love for Him should look like. So as we learn those principles the takeaway should be obedience.

Where does God fall into the structure of your day? My problem.....I get captivated w/ my ministry instead of being captivated w/ God. It is something I am working on turning around. Are you scared or fearful of surrendering all the way to Him? I think you will find it is more fearful to play it safe than to pay the cost and give your all to HIM. It's a little dangerous but super rewarding in many ways! 

Based on the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan - Chapter 6Where is your focus? On all the things and people around you? If you want to handle all of that, we must first look vertically to God. And not just look at Him, we must RUN to HIM. Don't let anything else slow us down, and don't get distracted. Run to Jesus and don't stop!

Based on the Book Crazy Love by Francis Chan - Chapter 5As a Christian or Christ follower, are you on fire for God, or are you fading away? If you are fading away, why is that happening? Reignite the fire God has put in your soul to follow Him with everything you have! There is nothing greater to strive for! Keep going!

Based on the book Crazy Love - Ch. 4Are you doing things half way for Jesus? Did HE not give us HIS all? Consider surrendering your entire life to God and see God rain down on you His blessings. It is the best way to unchain yourself and be free.

Who is the greatest lover? You? Your bride? Someone else? Maybe it is God. And if so, we should pay great attention.

How long do you have? Will you make it through this podcast? Will you make it to tomorrow? What about next week? Maybe we should look at life a little differently. Redeeming the time.

We pray a lot when we are in trouble. We pray a lot to ask for things. We pray a lot when it is the last thing we can do. Maybe we stop praying for a bit and just wonder at the magnitude of God.

Some of us in our life have stopped running. We have stopped racing. We have stopped striving for the very best for us and our relationship with God. Get up on your feet and start fighting again. Don't settle for second best but start striving to win in everything you do! God bless your race!!

Have you ever been tempted? Have you ever given in? Ha! Yes and yes. I hope this encourages and strengthens you to be holy and to honor and glorify your God.

All of us go through trauma. Sometimes it is really devastating. Sometimes the traumas come in stacks. They are heavy and they hurt and become overwhelming. They don't have to break you. You need friendships. You need to talk it out. You need to replace all the negative with the positive. There are way more positive things than you think. But the most important person you need is God. His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit can conquer anything in your life that is upsetting you. He can put the joy behind the smile. Take a listen. Then pass it on.

When is the last time you offered something new and fresh to God? Here are some ways in 2026 that you might offer someing fresh to God. They are some things that maybe you have never thought before. Enjoy and happy 2026 to you!!

What do we know about Mary, Jesus' mother? Is she to be worshipped? What is special about her, aside from the fact that she is the mother of Jesus? How does God say we should view Mary? You might be surprised. What a woman...

There can be a fine line with taking care of ourselves and becoming selfish. We have to take care of ourselves so we can be ready for God's call and to be able to help others. But too much attention to ourselves can bring about more problems turning us inward instead of outward.

The title above says it all. Are you smart or not so smart? Ha! The Bible tells us to be prudent. That means to think ahead. Look at the future and plan for it. The Bible challenges us not to be simple. The best way to put that is: don't be empty-minded in how you live. We need to think ahead. We do not need to worry about the future, but we should plan for it.

This was something new. I did not look at the passage until I shared this with the people in our Facebook Live Chapel service. We walked through the verses with me asking questions. I didn't even have a title for the message at the time. Although I couldn't hear the responses, I asked many questions as we looked at each verse in Ps 141:4-10. It was a devotional-level study, not a deep dive. I had a few people message me afterwards with their thoughts and ideas. It was a good exercise. What will you learn? My friend Mark Schellinger came up with a great title, so I used it. "How To Crash Proof Your Soul". Excellent!

There are two very difficult things to do on this earth: stop talking and listening. In Ps 141 pray that God would put a guard over his mouth. We have that guard! It is the Holy Spirit. But when we grieve or quench the Holy Spirit with the sin in our life, then that guard slips away and our speech becomes dishonoring to God.

Two things that are very difficult to do in our lives: waiting and listening. Today we will talk about waiting on God. If we will wait long enough and trust Him we will "SEE" what He can mightily do. He will answer if we will wait. WAIT!

We often worry about things we have no resources to help with. We forget that we have an infinite and sovereign God who finds multiple ways to use people or circumstances to fulfill our difficult issues. If He can get water and honey from a rock, he can do anything. Don't be afraid because our God has answers and provision.

Sin brings us low. It's something not to be messed with. The joy of sin is that it doesn't have to control us, and it can be forgiven by our Savior, Jesus Christ. IF you feel like you are in a spot that is a spot you cannot get out of. Think again. Psalm 51 has amazing answers for you.

It takes a lot of focus to compete and win first place! It can be an event with a few people or thousands, but there is only one person who gets first place. It is a lot of effort to be the winner. There is no question that this is also true with God. It takes a lot of work not to win but to keep HIM in first place in your life. When he is in first place, you will always win. When HE is NOT...then things slowly and sometimes quickly fall apart. How do we do this and why? God's Word tells us...

Do you seek that which only lets you down or something that truly helps for the long haul? Is your help dependable? Choosing the right kind of help is everything.

The chapter that I'm struggling with at the beginning (LIKE AN IDIOT!) is Psalm 21:1-6. Sorry about that!What fulfills you? Do you think it will last? Does it complete you? I think you will find. that the only person who can fulfill you is Jesus. Take a listen.

A lot happened this week. A lady slaughtered in Charlotte on a train, Charlie Kirk is murdered. Children are shot at their school. What is going on in our world? What is going on with Christians in our world? How are we supposed to respond to all this mess and heartbreaking loss. How will we deal with people who oppose God and live for themselves and are steeped in sin? What in the world do we do?

This is a new series: "Musing With God" - These are just thoughts that come out of my quiet time with God and time spent meditating on His Word and allowing Him to speak to me. These are the same thoughts you can have as you spend quality time with God alone.Does God do everything for us or do we have responsibilities. Paul tells us in Phil 4 that what we have seen in him...DO! We see King David modeling this in Ps 16:1-2

Studying the Bible 101 - Has someone told you that you need to study the Bible more, but you don't know how? I have told people this and have given no direction, and they end up frustrated because they don't really know what to do other than just read the passage. This should help you a little if you are trying to get started on studying God's Word. It's a beginner's class, but I believe it will be highly beneficial for anyone who studies the Bible in this way. God bless you and enjoy hearing from Him.

Last week we talked about how the Holy Spirit has been present and working throughout history since creation. Now we speak today of how he works in you and I and does powerful things in and through us in ways we cannot put into words.

How important is the Holy Spirit to you? What do you know about Him? He is important to you, whether you are an unbeliever or a believer. He is the one knocking on the door of the unbeliever, trying to get them to come to Jesus. He is the one who convicts you, challenges you, guides you, teaches you, and shows Christ in your life, if you are a believer. Have a listen...

Happy Anniversary to me and my wife!Prayer is a means of accessing God's presence and protection. Are you praying? Are you praying continually? You should be, and so should I. It is life-changing!

The time is probably very short for God's return. Are you ready? Do you know Him? Are you serving Him? Are you wasting time? Are you being lazy? Are you being spiritually lazy. We have not time for laziness in any way. We have to get up and get the work done because Jesus is coming soon!

There is a sense of urgency to get the Gospel to the nations from Paul. If it was a sense of urgency 2000 years ago it is very urgent now!

When problems arise and circumstances rise that make us want to run away we need to stand firm. When sin wants to take us down we need to stand firm. When we are tempted to doubt we need to stand firm. If we can't stand strong, we can't stand firm.

The Great Commission really came alive for me as I studied Matt 28:16-20. Many of us are lazy. Myself included. Every believer and the church has the responsibility to spread the gospel to all the nations; to the world. We have to get up and GO!

The end times can be very confusing regarding what is going to take place and when those events are going to occur. But there is one thing about the end times that is very clear......(Thanks to John MacArthur for help on this subject)

 How many of you find that you are in the presence of God regularly? If so, how does that affect your life? If you are not in the presence of God, why is that so? "Praising in the presence of God is precious."

Why do we suffer? Everyone does at some point in their live and most of the times, we suffer a lot in varying degrees in our lives. Is it to hurt us, punish us, discipline us, make us stronger, or more mature?? Listen to the last message on Ep 803 also to get the full picture.

Suffering is a part of life, and although it can be annoying and painful, it is often necessary, meaningful, and beneficial to us.

Keep going! Feel like quitting? Keep going! Depressed? Keep going! Overwhelmed? Keep going? Do you feel like you can't handle everything that is on your plate? Keep going!If God has called you to do what all that is going on in your life and you are struggling, keep going! Don't quit! You can make it with Jesus.
