When life feels uncertain, it’s easy to wonder if God is still at work. In Ruth 4, we see the story come full circle—what began with loss, grief, and bitterness turns into redemption, restoration, and purpose. What looked ordinary on the surface was actually God moving behind the scenes the entire time. This isn’t just a story about Ruth and Naomi—it’s a reminder that God is writing a bigger story than we can see.

Love, risk, and redemption are all on the line. In Ruth 3, the story takes a bold turn as Ruth steps out in courage and Naomi begins to hope again. What looks like an unexpected and risky plan becomes a powerful reminder that God is still working behind the scenes—even in the tension, the waiting, and the unknown.This chapter isn’t just about romance—it’s about trust. Trusting God enough to take a step, to risk obedience, and to believe He is writing a bigger story than we can see.

God’s will isn’t just about where you’re going—it’s about who you’re becoming. In Ruth 2, we see how faithfulness in the ordinary leads to God’s provision in the extraordinary. Ruth simply shows up, does the next right thing, and trusts God with the rest—and that’s where everything begins to change. Even when the path isn’t clear, God is still working behind the scenes. Your job isn’t to figure it all out—it’s to be faithful right where you are.

In Ruth 1, Naomi’s story shows us what it looks like to walk through loss, disappointment, and circumstances beyond our control—and wrestle with trusting God in the middle of it.Even when we can’t see it, God is still at work. In this series First And Best we are invited to see generosity as an act of worship that flows from gratitude, not obligation, recognizing that we can never outgive God. Our giving is a response to the greatest act of generosity ever shown, God giving us His Son through Jesus’ death and resurrection.

As we begin the new year, we’re reminded that every step forward requires faith in Jesus, who is with us in every season.

Gratitude is the practice of articulating and documenting our thankfulness for what we already have. Goal setting and resolutions have their time and place. But if we’re obsessed with who we aren’t and what we don’t yet have, without gratitude for what God has already provided, we’ll be constantly striving, exhausted, and miserable. Gratitude grows contentment.

Christmas is part of the salvation story, where a Savior arrived in the form of a baby so we no longer have to fight God for control, bringing peace between heaven and earth.

In Week 3 of Sounds Of Christmas, we are reminded that Jesus makes a way back for every single one of us. To make a way through, a way forward, and a way back to a beautiful way of life with Him.

In Week 2 of our series Sounds Of Christmas, we are invited to take steps to pursue the kind of joy that only Jesus can bring. When it feels like something has been taken away from us or when we experience loss in some way, we can trust in Him to use it to grow something in us.
