S4 - Special 2 - SHOULD 'THIS IS BEIRUT' BE INVESTIGATED FOR TREASON FOR ILLEGAL CONTACT WITH ISRAEL?
SHOULD THE LAW APPLY TO EVERYONE OR ONLY TO THE POWERLESS?In this episode, we examine what happened at the 2026 Munich Security Conference, where Lebanese media outlet This Is Beirut co-hosted a panel with MIND Israel founded by former Israeli military intelligence chief Amos Yadlin. The discussion reportedly covered:• Regional integration• Hezbollah disarmament• The post-Gaza landscape• Lebanon–Israel indirect talksAll of this while Israel continues daily violations against Lebanon.Just weeks before the conference, Lebanon filed a formal complaint to the United Nations Security Council documenting thousands of ceasefire violations.UNIFIL has independently recorded more than 10,000 violations.Under Lebanon’s 1955 Boycott Law and Articles 273–275 of the Criminal Code, contact with the “enemy entity” is criminalized. So we ask:If ordinary Lebanese citizens have faced prosecution for far less…If journalist Maria Maalouf was charged…If filmmaker Ziad Doueiri was detained…Why is this different? We also examine the role of banker Antoun Sehnaoui, the primary funder of This Is Beirut, his public political positions, and the legal scrutiny he has faced in Lebanon related to the banking collapse. When a country remains under bombardment and sovereignty is repeatedly challenged, the question becomes unavoidable:Who gets investigated? And who gets immunity?Lebanon’s Minister of Justice, Adel Nassar, the law is in your hands.Does it apply to everyone?Or only to those without power?Listen to the full investigation and decide for yourself.

S3 - Special Episode - Geopolitical Tensions Rise As Israel Seeks U.S. Action On Iran - Philip Giraldi
Global media have deliberately suppressed what really happened in the Iran–Israel war that erupted in June 2025 because what happened was in contradiction to the Hasbara (propaganda) Israel and the USA were feeding to the world. In this exclusive Season 3, Special Episode of REEL TALK, former CIA Operations Officer, Philip Giraldi, helps me lift the lid on the substantial scale of damage done to Israel following the Iranian strikes, that were kept from the world by Israel’s censorship machine, and the desperate scramble by Netanyahu to pull the United States back into open conflict with Iran.Giraldi and I discuss the hidden story: Why Israel needed the ceasefire? How Netanyahu is plotting a false flag operation to force American intervention, and the chilling plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza and transform it into a playground for billionaires.Together, we break down the myth of Israel’s military invincibility, and the real endgame: Greater Israel. We also examine why Arab regimes stay silent despite the slaughter, how Hezbollah is caught between survival and annihilation, and why the U.S. Congress remains shackled by AIPAC — even as public support for Israel collapses. From Lebanon to Gaza, from Tehran to Washington, this conversation exposes the dangerous dance of power, propaganda and profit that mainstream media refuses to confront — and asks whether justice, truth and human life still stand a chance.⏳If you are enjoying our podcasts please consider a small contribution of $5 a month to allow us to keep you informed. https://buymeacoffee.com/daizygedeon

S2|E7|P1 - Middle Eastern history YOU NEED TO KNOW - Dr. Roy Casagranda
This is the history that was HIDDEN from us ALL our lives! In this episode, I'm joined by Professor Roy Casagranda, an American Political scientist and historian. This conversation tilted my worldview in a way I didn't expect... Throughout the episode, we created an alternative view of history, one that is absent the pen of the coloniser. We introduce you to figures from the Arab and Islamic world that rarely receive mention because it is an inconvenient truth that would dwarf the discoveries and inventions made by western scientists, mathematicians, and the like. It leaves one to question whether the discoveries and philosophies of people including Newton, Kepler, Bacon and Machiavelli where really their own or rather borrowed from those by Arab and Islamic scholars. The most fascinating point the Professor raised was that if the intelligence and innovations known more than 1500 years ago weren't skipped over, Man would have landed on the moon in 1469 not 1969. Let that sink in.Note: this is PART 1 of a 2 part series with Dr. Roy.In the second episode, we uncover the story of U.S. imperialism in the Middle East.Stay tuned!Timestamps⏱️2:07 Introduction6:20 Inside Dr. Roy’s life8:35 Global shift to the far right14:30 Power controls the narrative21:31 Erasure of Arab history29:07 Ibn al-Haytham - Newton’s untold teacher33:57 Was Machiavelli inspired by Muslims?36:56 European censorship of history44:09 Arab failure to create a narrative50:56 Middle East - a former beacon?54:48 Conclusion____________Support our work herehttps://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=TEAEE8YVEU996

S2|E5 - Palestine's SHOCKING success at the United Nations - Ambassador Riyad Mansour
My EXCLUSIVE interview with Ambassador Riyad Mansour, Permanent Representative for the State of Palestine at the UN, comes at a time when nearly all hope has been lost for a diplomatic solution to save Gaza. But inspite of the hoplessness being felt at the paralytic procrastination of global institutions and world leaders to take the necessary actions, not just words, to end Israel's genocidal rampage that has now spread to Lebanon, it is important to acknowledge and celebrate the profound milestone achieved by the state of Palestine on 10 May 2024 when it was formally recognized as an Observer STATE by the UN General Assembly. While many might consider it minor or meaningless, Ambassador Mansour explains its historic importance for Palestine in its bid to win full member status which would have a profound impact on Israel's ability to pursue its expansionst agenda in all the Occupied Territories. For anyone wishing to increase their knowledge about the chronic Palestine-Israel crisis, I encourage you to watch to the end.Timestamps⏱️0:00 Reel Talk introduction2:00 Introduction5:45 The UNGA - Home of Democracy10:25 194714:35 The rise of the PLO17:24 2012 & Observer State Status21:35 10 May 202429:30 Brick by Brick to victory32:25 The Gaza Genocide38:25 Israel ISOLATED at the UN43:12 The duplicity of nations45:45 GAZA has galvanised the globe54:32 It is time for Western Europe57:52 A prisoner of hope1:00:52 Conclusion____________Subscribe and turn on 🔔 so you DON'T miss a video: https://shorturl.at/qrjGx Support our work herehttps://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=TEAEE8YVEU996 WATCH NEXThttps://youtu.be/d_6M7tg8drc?si=DdxlCjJjh5B-6MAfhttps://youtu.be/Q9_h-wiHUok?si=ZjT_uDEqDrDX6lGKhttps://youtu.be/BcnC4AYxLdI?si=Q5M8GhGs3VJ4fEt9Check out other platforms herehttps://www.tiktok.com/@daizygedeon https://www.instagram.com/daizygedeon/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/daizygedeon/ https://x.com/daizygedeon/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561384580710&mibextid=LQQJ4d

S1|E8 - FROM POVERTY TO PHILANTHROPIC PROPERTY MOGUL - AYAD NASSER
The final episode of Reel Talk Season 1 ends on a high note with the inspirational Ayad Nasser. Born in the small seaside village of Ouzaii, Ayad suffered hardship from an early age, growing up during Lebanon’s Civil War and compounded with his parents splitting. Despite these obstacles, Ayad embarked on a solo journey that led to tremendous success and took him to Monaco, Europe, South America, and the US before returning to his beloved Lebanon. After establishing a boutique development and investment company and seeing the chaotic, deterioration of the country, he took it upon himself to initiate a project to beautify his home village, Ouzaii, which had become one of Beirut’s worst slum areas. Today “Ouzville”, as it has been renamed, is a symbol of colour and hope thanks to the collaborative efforts of Ayad’s partner, Russian artist, Viktoria Latysheva, who with world-renowned street artists revived Ouzaii and created a legacy for all to share.Subscribe and turn on 🔔 so you DON'T miss a videoSupport our work herehttps://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=TEAEE8YVEU996

S1|E7 - A VOW OF LOVE THAT GAVE DISABLED CHILDREN HOPE - SESOBEL
In this episode of REEL TALK I give you a glimpse into SESOBEL, an organisation whose people represent the very, very best of Lebanese values – a depth of compassion, sincere kindness, unlimited understanding and pure decency - values that continue to be the glue that hold the people and the country together despite it suffering the worst times in its history. SESOBEL was founded in 1976 in the midst of Lebanon’s civil war, one of the harshest times in Lebanese history, by two determined and infinitely empathetic women, Yvonne Chami and Fadia Safi, to gather, care for and educate the most disadvantaged, deformed and rejected children in the country. They did this out of a VOW of LOVE. So, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and sit back and prepare to be inspired by the powerful stories from the students, the teachers and the founders.Disclaimer: This episode was originally recorded as a video file and has now been uploaded in audio format. S1|E5 - FROM SUICIDE TO CONQUERING EVEREST - Joyce Azzam
This is possibly the most confronting REEL TALK interview I have had to conduct. Not only because my conversation with Joyce Azzam, the first Lebanese woman to complete the Seven Summits, and one of few Arab women to climb Mount Everest, left me in awe of this woman’s accomplishments and her courage. And, not because I agreed to having two tyres harnessed around my waist so I could pull them up a mountain in the Cedars at an altitude of more than 2000 meters, just so I could experience the extreme training regime she is currently enduring for her next challenge, the 1000km Antarctic Expedition. The reason I found it challenging, was because we delved deep into the real issues that Joyce faced growing up with a syndrome that resulted in her being bullied and humiliated as a child which led to her battles with suicide and depression. But through it all she found a great advocate in her brother George, and discovered her passion and purpose. This extraordinary story filled with inspiration and emotion, wonder and joy, excitement and drama will lift your soul and fill you with hope and courage. S1|E1 - WHY I CHOSE LEBANON - AMERICAN BRADY BLACK
I'm excited today to be launching my new show “Reel Talk” with an extraordinary story featuring American educator and artist Brady Black, who lived in Beirut from 2014-2022. Brady’s remarkable “Community Murals” are famous all over the world, but his most important work was the mural he created with Art of Change to honour the victims of the tragic August 4, 2020 Beirut Port explosion. In my interview with Brady he describes the audacity it took, the risks of imprisonment and the defiant determination that drove him to do something that would not let Lebanon or the world forget the 230-odd people killed in that blast. We delve into his personal life and why he chose to spend 8 years of his life in Beirut; why he and his wife adopted an orphan; and how his murals have brought light, focus and change to marginalised communities.
