    An Unforgiving Spirit Pt.3

Over the last several weeks we have been considering the story of Philemon and Onesimus.  Thiers is really an amazing story of God’s grace and sovereignty.  This is as dramatic an illustration of God ruling in the affairs as is God directing the servant of King Ahasuerus to find just the right scroll to bring to the King’s attention the news he needed about Mordecai which eventually led to the saving of God’s people.  This little book is all about forgiveness.  Paul is writing Philemon to forgive and restore this runaway slave, Onesimus.  We started our study of this book with a precaution.  We tried to be clear in explaining the warnings we find in Scripture about what happens when a person has an unforgiving, resentful spirit.  Please listen to all three messages and allow the Spirit of God to use the Word of God to make you like the Son of God.

    An Unforgiving Spirit Pt.1

    Continue in Prayer

Nothing of eternal value can be accomplished without prayer.  To be so invaluable to the Christian life, it is one of the most neglected practices for many believers.

  5. 11

    God our Father

We should never forget the comforting truth that God is our Father.  That fact can bring great stability to our lives.

  6. 10

Is God's Word at Home in Your Heart

When writing to the Christians in Corinth, Paul made very clear that after salvation our lives will be different.  As believers we have a new purpose; we are here as ambassadors for our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our study in Colossians 3:15-17 is going to help us to understand how our lives can best represent Jesus in this world.

  7. 9

A Great Way to Represent Our Lord Jesus

In Colossians 3:15-17, the Apostle Paul explains three very effective ways for Christians to represent Christ in this world.  This message will primarily focus on a thankful spirit.

  8. 8

    The Picture of the Fool

The Book of Proverbs is clear in describing the fool.

  9. 7

Why Does Jesus Deserve the Preeminence

The theme to the Book of Colossians is found in the first chapter at the end of verse 18.  There Paul states that he is writing to the Colossians to declare the preeminence of Jesus Christ.  This brings up the question.  Why does Jesus deserve to be preeminent?  Many religions want to set their leaders on par with Jesus but is that legitimate?  Not according to Paul; and he gives some very good reasons why.

  10. 6

    Walking Worthy of the Lord

In our study of Colossians we are working our way through Paul's prayer.  We are in verse 10.  There Paul encourages us to live a life that is worthy of our Lord.  This seems like an impossible task and it is without the empowering work of God's grace and God's Spirit.

  11. 5

    The Cares of this Life

In our Lord's parable of the soil He warns us that the cares of this life can steal away the effectiveness of God's Word in changing our lives.  I hope these two messages will help you to be able to handle the cares of this life.

  12. 4

How to Handle the Cares of this Life

In our Lord's parable of the soil He warns us that the cares of this life can steal away the effectiveness of God's Word in changing our lives.  I hope these two messages will help you to be able to handle the cares of this life.

  13. 3

    The Scorner

The Book of Proverbs gives three classifications for the fool: The Simple, The Fool, and The Scorner.  In our study we have labeled the Scorner as the "past-hope" fool.  The only One who can change the heart of the scorner is God, Himself.  Whether the scorner is willing to change or not he is still, according to the Book of Proverbs, deserving of severe punishment.

  14. 2

    The Purpose of Proverbs

The Old Testament book of Proverbs is all about wisdom. Wisdom for dealing with every day life. This is the first message in our study of this fascinating book. If you have questions about the message you may contact us through our web site www.refugebaptistchurch.org.
