Hear, O Israel - Deuteronomy 6:4-5
What does it really mean to hear God? In the Bible, hearing is never passive. To shema is to listen in a way that leads to response, obedience, and life. In this opening sermon of our summer series, we explore the ancient prayer of the Shema — “Hear, O Israel” — and discover why God’s people have always been shaped not just by what they hear, but by whose voice they attend to. In a noisy world full of competing voices, this message invites us to practise attention again — to listen for the voice that gives life, and to respond with trust. With thanks to The Bible Project for the use of their excellent “Shema / Listen” video: https://bibleproject.com/videos/shema-listen/

The Kingdom of Forgiveness - Luke 17:1-18:14
This message is part of our series The Way of the Kingdom, a journey through Luke 12–19 where Jesus shows us what it means to live as his disciples in a world that’s not our home. In this talk, The Kingdom of Forgiveness, Jesus calls us into the costly but life-giving way of repentance, rebuke, and forgiveness. He warns that causing others to stumble is deadly serious, yet shows that the threshold of the kingdom is forgiveness—reconciliation with God that overflows into reconciliation with one another. Along the way, he teaches that faith, even as small as a mustard seed, is enough to forgive, to endure, and to serve as unworthy yet grateful servants of the King. From the healed Samaritan leper who returns in gratitude, to the warnings about apathy like in the days of Noah and Lot, Luke 17–18 reveals that God’s kingdom is marked by humility, persistence, and readiness. Forgiveness is not weakness—it is the very heartbeat of the gospel. If you’ve ever wrestled with bitterness, reconciliation, or how to live out grace in broken relationships, this passage speaks straight to the heart. Jesus shows us that forgiveness is not optional—it is the way of the kingdom, and it is the way He has loved us first.

Kingdom Wealth & Kingdom Hearts - Luke 16-1-31
This message is part of our series The Way of the Kingdom, a journey through Luke 12–19 where Jesus shows us what it means to live as his disciples in a world that’s not our home. In this talk, Kingdom Wealth & Kingdom Hearts, Jesus unsettles us with parables about money, faithfulness, and ultimate allegiance. He warns that wealth is never neutral—it reveals what we treasure most. The question is not simply how much we have, but whom we serve: God or money. Far from condemning possessions, Jesus calls us to steward them wisely, to use earthly wealth for eternal good, and to measure success not by what we keep, but by what we give. If you’ve ever wrestled with money, contentment, or how to live generously in a world obsessed with more, Luke 16 speaks straight to the heart. Jesus shows us that true riches are found not in building bigger barns, but in belonging fully to the Father—and using what He’s entrusted to us for His Kingdom.

The Kingdom for the Lost - Luke 15:1-32
This message is part of our series The Way of the Kingdom, a journey through Luke 12–19 where Jesus shows us what it means to live as his disciples in a world that’s not our home. In this talk, The Kingdom for the Lost, we hear Jesus tell one of his most famous parables—the story of the prodigal son. But it’s more than just a story about a wayward child. It’s a story that redefines sin, reveals the heart of God as Father, and shows us what salvation really costs. Whether we’ve run recklessly into rebellion like the younger son, or tried to earn God’s favour through rule-keeping like the elder son, Jesus invites us to see ourselves in the story—and to step into the feast of grace that God freely offers. If you’ve ever wondered whether God could really love you, or if you’ve ever found yourself standing outside looking in, this passage is good news: the Father runs to both the lost and the self-righteous, and the true elder brother—Jesus himself—has paid the price to bring us home.

The Upside-Down Kingdom - Luke 14:1-24
This message is part of our series The Way of the Kingdom, a journey through Luke 12–19 where Jesus shows us what it means to live as his disciples in a world that’s not our home. In this talk, The Upside-Down Kingdom, we dive into Luke 14 and see Jesus heal on the Sabbath, challenge pride at a banquet, and tell the parable of the great feast. Through it all, he reveals what life in God’s Kingdom is really like — where the humble are lifted up, the outsider is welcomed in, and the invitation of the King overturns all our assumptions about status and belonging. If you’ve ever wondered how to approach God without pretence, how to show hospitality that reflects His heart, or how to be sure of your place at His table, this passage holds both comfort and challenge: the King Himself has made room for you — will you take your seat?

The Kingdom Draws Closer - Luke 13:10-35
This message is part of our series The Way of the Kingdom, a journey through Luke 12–19 where Jesus shows us what it means to live as his disciples in a world that’s not our home. In this talk, 'The Kingdom Draws Closer', we see Jesus heal a crippled woman, teach about the mustard seed and the yeast, and lament over Jerusalem. Through it all, he reveals what God’s Kingdom is really like—unexpected in its arrival, unstoppable in its growth, and urgent in its call to enter. If you’ve ever wondered what the Kingdom of God truly is, how it grows, or how to know you belong to it, this passage offers both an invitation and a warning: the door is open now—don’t wait to step inside.

Readiness & Repentance - Luke 12:35-13:9
This message is part of our series The Way of the Kingdom—a journey through Luke 12–19 where Jesus shows us what it means to live as his disciples in a world that’s not our home. In this talk, "Readiness & Repentance", Jesus urges his disciples to live with watchful readiness, faithful obedience, and urgent repentance. Through parables and prophetic warnings, he confronts our tendency to delay, drift, or presume upon God's patience. The time to respond is now.

Salt and Light in the Workplace - 1 Peter 2:11-17 & Colossians 3:22-24
How do you live for Jesus in the everyday rhythms of work - when you’re on the tools, in the classroom, raising kids, or navigating retirement? In this final talk of our Salt and Light series, we hear from a variety of people from our church family - in fields like health, construction, education, music, and parenting - sharing honestly about the joys and challenges of following Jesus in their workplaces and daily routines. This isn’t a showcase of evangelists - it’s a snapshot of ordinary Christians seeking to be faithful right where God has placed them. And it’s a reminder that your Monday-to-Friday life matters deeply in God’s mission.

Salt and Light in the World - Matthew 24:14, 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:14-15
What compels someone to leave everything familiar and take the gospel to the nations? In this second talk of our Missions in Focus series, Matt opens the Scriptures to explore the biblical foundation for global mission—why Jesus calls His people not only to shine locally, but to go to the ends of the earth. We then hear from John and Betty, who spent 15 years living among a nomadic people group on an island in Indonesia. In this rich and personal interview, they share both the why and the how of long-term cross-cultural mission.

Salt and Light in the Community - Matthew 5:13-16 & 9:35-38
When Jesus calls us to be salt and light, He’s not just talking about overseas mission—He’s talking about our everyday lives, right here in our local communities. In this opening talk of our Missions in Focus series, guest speaker Roger Burgess encourages us to see our streets, schools, sports clubs, and friendships as places where the gospel can take root. What if your neighbourhood is not just where you live, but where God has sent you?
