Conquer Your Fears (EA Online Promo)
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. What's keeping you from sharing the Gospel? Are you afraid that people won't take the time to have a Gospel conversation with you? Listen to what Evan had to say immediately after participating in an Equip America Event in Fort Lauderdale Florida. “How ripe the harvest is, you know? And how we as the body of Christ need to step out and how the Holy Spirit is just going to empower our smallest act of obedience.” In Matthew 9:35, Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful," and two thousand years later, it remains true. The Lord will provide the opportunities if you'll ask for them! Would you like to experience this? I have great news. On May 16th, we are hosting an online Equip America. This free online evangelism training will give you the tools you need to start sharing your faith with confidence. For more information and to register, visit ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

A Pastor’s Perspective (EA Online Promo)
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Do you know if you’ll spend eternity in Heaven with God? If so, do you know how to share that Good News with someone else? Well, if not, we have a special online training event with you in mind. Equip America allows believers to be trained to share their faith and immediately use what they’ve learned. Listen to what Charles, a pastor in Houston, Texas, had to say after attending an Equip America event. “As a pastor, I have a newfound urgency for my ministry to evangelize.” And I believe that God wants to give us a newfound urgency for evangelism, too. Would you like to experience that? I have great news. On May 16th, we are hosting an online Equip America. This free online evangelism training will give you the tools you need to start sharing your faith with confidence. For more information and to register, visit ShareLife.Today.

Gospel Outline Week – Faith (EA Online Promo)
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Today is the final day of learning an easy-to-remember Gospel presentation using the five fingers of our hand. Picture the smallest finger on your hand - it's going to represent faith. Grace, Man, God and Christ, Faith. Faith is how we respond to the Gospel. Saving faith isn’t simply head knowledge about Jesus. Many know about Jesus but have never experienced Him. It’s also not just “temporary faith,” trusting in Jesus for health or safety. Saving faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. The apostle Paul was asked, “What must I do to be saved?” He answered, “Believe – trust – in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. This free online evangelism training will give you the tools you need to start sharing your faith with confidence. For more information and to register, visit ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

Gospel Outline Week – Christ (EA Online Promo)
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. This week we are learning a pattern using the fingers of our hand to share the Gospel, based on five main words – Grace, Man, God, Christ, and Faith. So, picture your ring finger and think of the Bridegroom because today’s word is CHRIST. Jesus Christ is both God and Man. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and rose from the dead to prove He has purchased a place in Heaven for us. And this gift is received by faith. If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. This free online evangelism training will give you the tools you need to start sharing your faith with confidence. For more information and to register, visit ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

Gospel Outline Week – God (EA Online Promo)
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. This week, we’re learning an easy-to-remember Gospel presentation using the five fingers of our hand. Today, we’ll focus on God. Picture your third finger – our great finger, representing the greatest being in all the universe, which we know to be God. Of the many aspects of God’s character, we’ll emphasize two: First, God is MERCIFUL and doesn’t want to punish us. The Bible tells us that “God is love.” But the same Bible teaches us that God is JUST and He cannot tolerate our sin. In Exodus 34:7, God says, 'By no means will I clear the guilty.' This presents a problem for us so tomorrow we’ll turn our attention to CHRIST. If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. This free online evangelism training will give you the tools you need to start sharing your faith with confidence. For more information and to register, visit ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

Gospel Outline Week – Man (EA Online Promo)
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. This week, we’re learning an easy-to-remember Gospel presentation. We’re using the five fingers of our hand to remember five Gospel words. Yesterday, we used our thumb to share GRACE. Today, we’re using our second finger, our pointer finger to share about MAN – meaning the human race. The Bible clearly states that man is a sinner and cannot save himself. Romans 3:23, “All have sinned.” Sin is anything that falls short of God’s perfect standard. An action, a word, a thought, an attitude… …and because we are sinners, we cannot save ourselves. But the Gospel is Good News! There is a way to be saved, but it’s not man’s way—it’s God’s way. If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. This free online evangelism training will give you the tools you need to start sharing your faith with confidence. For more information and to register, visit ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

Gospel Outline Week – Grace (EA Online Promo)
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. How would you like to learn an easy-to-remember, hard-to-forget Gospel presentation? During this week, using the five fingers of your hand, we’re going to put one word to each finger. The five words are GRACE, MAN, GOD, CHRIST, and FAITH. Word number one is GRACE – picture your thumb pointing toward Heaven. Grace, heaven, is a gift. Romans 6:23 says, “The gift of God is eternal life.” And, like any gift, it is not earned or deserved. What a relief! Christianity alone proclaims that God’s favor and entrance into heaven are absolutely free to us because of Jesus' sacrifice. So your thumb represents GRACE. If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. This free online evangelism training will give you the tools you need to start sharing your faith with confidence. For more information and to register, visit ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

Intentional
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. What does your day-to-day look like? Do you get on a bus to get to work or carpool? How many trips do you make during your day…to get lunch, to stop at a grocery store, or run an errand? Think about the people you cross paths with in just one day of your life. It reminds me of a story of a man who boarded a bus and met a man carrying a book on Buddhism. That was all he needed to open a spiritual discussion. And by the end of the bus ride, that man heard the Gospel and was extended an invitation to church. And while he didn’t make a profession of faith in Christ right then on the bus, we know that God can and will use that kind of conversation in his life. Would you like be this kind of witness too? Well, join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside the Go Movement. Oh The Places You’ll Go
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Our busy lives operate in community groups, and I’m not talking about Sunday school classes or weekly life groups at church. These community groups are made up of parents, even grandparents gathered at a local youth baseball diamond, the club volleyball tournament, the high school soccer game. We have opportunities to be part of hundreds of different community groups, and it creates an incredible opportunity to talk to people about Jesus at every ball field, recital hall, and dance studio that you visit. It reminds me of Dr. Seuss’ book titled, Oh The Places You’ll Go…and oh what you’ll accomplish for the kingdom of God when you’re prepared to share your faith. We have tools and resources to help you get started at our website, ShareLife.Today. Join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside Go Movement. Ordinary People
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. You know, I really believe with all of my heart that sharing the Gospel is the most important task that believers can do. And that’s why I love to share my faith. Jesus used the most ordinary things to lead people to Himself. At a well, Jesus spoke of the Water of Life that quenches a deep thirst. To the hungry, He presented Himself as the Bread of Life. To the crippled and the sick, He was the One that could make people whole. We have opportunities all around us to share our faith; and with just a few simple tools, we can not only vocalize the Gospel but develop an alertness of mind and a compassion for the lost. When we look at the New Testament, we see ordinary people, just like you and me, who took it upon themselves to share the Gospel in their everyday lives. Join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside the Go Movement. For more information, visit our website at ShareLife.Today. The Gospel Must Be Spoken
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. In a recent study done by Barna Research, half of Generation Z Christians that they surveyed said that they believe “letting your actions speak rather than using words to explain your faith” is evangelism. Fifty percent! Now today, we’re going to tackle two important things that we need to know regarding words and actions when it comes to evangelism. First, you cannot share the Gospel with someone by some form of osmosis. Words must be shared. Second, you can’t share the Gospel by a simple act of kindness alone. While that act is wonderful, it points no one to Christ. The Bible is clear that the Gospel must be spoken with love, with grace, with winsomeness. With a little discipleship, we can become great, verbal Gospel witnesses and share life today. Join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside Go Movement. For more, visit ShareLife.Today.

The Gospel is Power
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Remember, it is the Gospel itself, not our clever answers or power of persuasion that is the “power of God unto salvation.” When you’re sharing the Gospel, and you encounter an objection, the goal is to deal with the objection as simply and quickly as possible and then continue with the Gospel. Two keys to remember are first, to research their question and return with an answer: If you don’t know the answer to the question, tell them, “That’s a great question. Can I do some research and get back to you on that?” And then, continue with the Gospel before making an appointment for a future visit. If you’re able to respond to the objection on the spot, well, do so quickly and again get back into sharing the Gospel. With a bit of knowledge, many common objections can be answered right on the spot. Join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside the Go Movement. Do You Know For Sure? Tract
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. If you’ve seen someone leave a Gospel tract in a restaurant or hand one to a stranger walking by, have you ever thought, “I wonder if they’ll read it?” I’d like to suggest that our first and best response should be to ask the Holy Spirit to compel the person to read it as He did with Philip. Philip was sitting on a park bench talking on his phone when someone walked by and handed him a Gospel tract. The Holy Spirit prompted Philip to open it. So he did, and he read the whole thing. Romans 3:23 jumped off the page, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Philip was convicted, and he repented. Now, it just so happened that he read EE’s Do You Know For Sure? tract. Philip has since ordered them and started a tract ministry. Tract Evangelism
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Should we still use tracts for evangelism? As I walked toward the meeting hall at a conference, I saw one of the security guards sitting and reading our “Do You Know For Sure” tract. I went over and asked him, “Do you understand what you’re reading?” And he said, “How can I unless someone explains it to me?” Immediately, I thought of the story of the Ethiopian eunuch when he met Philip on the road to Gaza. And just like the Bible story, this security guard listened carefully to the Gospel and gave his heart to Jesus Christ right there. And recently, we held a workshop to teach Christians how to share their faith, which they went out and did that very day! A few days later, a man called to tell us that he had made a decision to put his trust in Jesus through a tract that a team left with him. Tracts can be a great tool for us use to share our faith. Where Do All Those Tracts Go?
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. You know, I’ve heard people say that tracts don’t work anymore. They say that they’re a thing of the past. Well, don’t tell that to Doctor (Dr.) Varga. You see, more than a decade ago, a stranger handed her a tract – one of our tracts, to be precise. The tract prompted her curiosity. She read it, discovered the free gift of eternal life, and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior! Well, years later, she purchases those tracts a thousand at a time in order to share, in her words, “the beautiful message which she received with as many people as she can.” You know, sometimes we’re able to go through the tract with the person we’re sharing with, while other times there’s only enough time to say, “The message in this booklet changed my life, and I think it can change yours too.” Either way, why not give tract evangelism a try? For a free online Gospel tract you can use wherever you go, visit our website at ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

Do Tracts Work?
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Some people criticize tract evangelism, saying that it’s cold, impersonal, or even outdated. But the truth is, it works. Dale and George worshipped at the same church. And following the service, Dale gave George a Gospel tract, thinking that George could use the tract to evangelize. George took it home with him, but instead of sharing it with a friend or a family member, he read it intently. It struck him like a lightning bolt; “I’m not saved!” He read it to his wife, and they knelt and made professions of faith in Christ. Today, George and his wife, Joan, are two bold witnesses for Christ. Dale intended for George to introduce the tract to a friend. Instead, God introduced George and Joan to Jesus. Tracts, in fact, work. So don’t hesitate to use them! Don’t have any on you? Well, for a free online Gospel tract you can use wherever you go as well as other tools and resources to help you share your faith, visit ShareLife.Today.

What's In A Tract
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. You know, it’s unthinkable. It’s February 1975, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. You leave a Gospel tract with a young gas station attendant you come across while you’re filling your tank. He takes the tract, shoves you, gives you an earful; and while you’re stammering for words, he walks away. Now, if you’re someone who likes to hand out Gospel tracts, you’ve probably never had an experience quite like that, but I’ll bet you’ve still wondered if the people you give these tracts to actually read them or they toss them. Hey, we all have. In fact, some people will argue that Gospel tracts simply don’t work. But let’s get back to the young gas station attendant. His name is Jeff, and forty years later, he reaches out to us to find the person who gave him that Gospel tract. Through it, he accepted Jesus as His Savior, and his life was forever changed. For a free online Gospel tract you can use wherever you go, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Pile Up The Stones
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Psalm 36:5 tells us, “Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.” And it’s so true—God is faithful. And I love telling other people about how faithful He’s been to me. Now, it reminds me of the passage in Joshua 4, where the Israelites cross over the Jordan River. When God parted the waters, Joshua commanded one man from each one of the twelve tribes to pick up a stone from the bottom of the river. And on the other side, they piled up these stones up as a monument to God’s faithfulness in preparing a way for them through the Jordan. As forgetful people, we need to do the same. We need to inscribe on our hearts the acts of faithfulness that God has done in our lives and boldly share them with others. And you know what? God will use them to open conversation. Make the Contrast
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. What have you seen God do in your life? Now, the truth is, we all have hundreds of what we like to call “God stories.” These are times you’ve experienced God moving in your life, like a change that He’s brought about, an answered prayer, a restored relationship, or the moment you put your saving faith in Jesus. Now when sharing one of your “God stories” with another person, make the contrast for them. Start with what life was like before the change or before God stepped in. And then, share what God did. End your testimony with something about the confidence that you have concerning Heaven and eternal life. An example would be something like, “The greatest thing of all of this is that I know for sure that if I died today, I’m going to go to Heaven.” This leads very naturally to asking them questions about their own spiritual life and sharing the Gospel with them! Be Genuine
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. In a culture that combats finding what is true and what’s a lie, people now more than ever are looking for genuine, authentic relationships. They want to hear the truth. When it comes to sharing our testimonies, it’s important to remember to be genuine and vulnerable when telling others our story. God may have you sharing with a Divine Appointment—a person that He has drawn to you to hear your story for a purpose. It could be the very same struggles or hurts that you’ve faced they’re facing now. It could be the very things God has redeemed in your life they’re dealing with in their own life. So make sure to ask the Holy Spirit to guide your conversation about what you should share, and be open and truthful with what God has done in your life. Not sure how to share your testimony? Well, visit whatsmystory.org to use our free online testimony builder. You can learn more at our website ShareLife.Today.

The Power of Your Testimony
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. You know, I meet a lot of Christians who tell me that their story doesn't matter. Now, maybe that’s you! Have you ever questioned the significance of your testimony or thought no one would be interested in hearing it? Well, allow me to share a profound truth from Revelation 12:11 with you: “And they overcame [the enemy] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” You see, your testimony is not just a story but a powerful tool in the hands of God. When Jesus healed the man filled with demons in the Gadarenes, He said, “Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how he has had compassion on you.” We are called to do the same! Often, when people hear about Jesus changing our lives, it leads to an opportunity to share the Gospel. Visit whatsmystory.org to use our free online testimony builder. Make the Connection
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. How do we make the connection? Well, when it comes to sharing the most important part of our lives, our relationship with Jesus, how do we naturally and lovingly start a conversation? Well, think about what you like to talk about with your friends. You want to hear about their life! And this is true about your coworkers, your friends, and your family—they want to know about your life, too. You might be surprised at how many of them would love to hear your story about how Jesus has changed your life. And this is why our testimonies are so powerful! God has crafted the human heart to connect with others through sharing experiences. Jesus connected with people the same way—through hearing their stories and then sharing with them about Who He is—the Savior who has come to redeem them. Church Icebreaker
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Can you think of a time when you put your foot in your mouth? I mean, everyone can recall a moment they wanted to blend in with the wall behind them because of something they said. We're all human—it happens! But we don't want that to happen when we share the Gospel. So today, I'd like to share an icebreaker that may be the easiest way to start a spiritual conversation! So one of the easiest ways to start is by bringing up something you've done recently at church. Sharing with somebody how much you love your church and asking them whether or not they go to church is really simple. And it’s an easy follow-up then to say, "Church is important to me because that's where I learned about how I can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Can I tell you about how that’s changed my life?" Now, you’re going be surprised by how many times you will hear "yes!" People genuinely want to know what’s important to us. Simply Ask
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. A lot of us have fears when it comes to sharing our faith. For many, it’s the thought of saying the wrong thing. If we stumble over our words or something doesn't come out exactly the way we want it, we think that God won't use it. Well, not at all! The Bible shows us time and time again that God can use anyone, even someone who stutters, like Moses, or a long-winded preacher, like Paul! And one of the best ways to break the ice into a spiritual conversation is to simply ask. Asking someone if they've given much thought to spiritual matters, or if they're sure they're going to Heaven one day might be bold, but it gives the other person a chance to really consider their heart condition. Be prayerful about witnessing and trust the Lord to give you the words to speak. He will be faithful to do it! For more tips and resources on how you can be bold in sharing your faith, visit ShareLife.Today. That’s ShareLife.Today.

Death, Where Is Your Sting?
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. One of the hardest things that we can ever face in life is a close encounter with death. Whether it is ourself or the loss of a loved one, these are life-changing and difficult times. But God can use these very moments to draw us or others to Himself. This is exactly what happened in Barry's life. In college, he met a girl that he admired very much and always wished to meet. Well one day, she was killed in a car accident. Barry was crushed and went to the school's chapel to pray. In that moment, he knew there was something missing in his life but didn't know what it was. Then soon after, he heard the good news of the Gospel, and he put His trust in Christ. Now, he knows for certain that he has eternal life. And that’s changed everything. Sharing a testimony like this is a great way start a Gospel conversation with family and friends about the eternal hope found in Jesus. For more ways to share, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

On a Scale from 1 to 10
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Let me ask you a question...on a scale from one to ten, how fulfilling would you say your life is? What makes it that number? And would having more of a relationship with God make that number go up or down? These are some really impactful questions we can use when talking with our family and friends about God. They’re opportunities for them to share about their lives and their thoughts on having a relationship with Christ. I have to tell you...I've asked these questions a lot. And most of the time, people share with me that they think having more of a relationship with God would actually make their life more fulfilled. And I get to tell them that Jesus Himself said that in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." The evidence is in my very own life! That certainly happened to me. What a great way to start sharing the Gospel. For more ways that you can start conversation with the Gospel, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

God Stories
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever been unsure on how to start sharing the Gospel? Maybe you are ready to talk about spiritual things with the people in your life, but you're just not sure how to bring it up. Well this week, I’d like to share with you some “springboards” that can help you start a spiritual conversation. One of the best ways to begin is by telling our friends how having a relationship with Christ has changed you for the better. We call these “God stories.” And the more we walk with Christ, the more we have these we have to share! Start by telling them something you have seen God do in your life, like a change He's brought about, an answered prayer, or even a restored relationship. End your God story with a statement of confidence that you have concerning Heaven and eternal life. And this will open the door to sharing more! The Old Rugged Cross
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. “In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see, for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me.” What a beautiful way George Bennard described the cross of Christ in this famous hymn. This, this is the Good News of the Gospel! In the horrible, painful image of our crucified Savior, there is grace and mercy that we don’t deserve—complete forgiveness for all of our wrongs. When we place our trust in Jesus, He takes our sins on Himself and gives us His spotless, perfect life. When God sees us, He sees righteousness. O what a Savior, that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died so that we might be forgiven. And here in a few days, we celebrate that Jesus conquered the grave and stands as our King who triumphs over sin and death. Let’s share with others! For help, visit ShareLife.Today.

His Body Broken for Us
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. During the very first Easter Week, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples the night before He was crucified. On this Passover night, He sat with His disciples and gave them a clear picture of what He was about to do through their last meal together. He “took bread, and gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to [His disciples], saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant of my blood, which is poured out for you.’” We take communion as Christians in remembrance of what Jesus has done through His death and resurrection. The bread represents His body broken, and the wine depicts His blood spilled for the forgiveness of sins. He did it out of love for us! And all we must do to receive forgiveness is to place our trust in Jesus alone. Learn how to share this Good News with others at our website: ShareLife.Today.

The Garden of Gethsemane
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. As we continue walking through Easter together, today I want to look ahead to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. In the Gospels, we see Jesus pray through the night asking God to take the cup of what was to happen from Him. If you or I stood in His shoes—facing the wrath of Almighty God for the sins of the world—we probably would have refused it. But even though Jesus asked His Father, His will was set. He was committed to the cross. But it wasn’t easy for Jesus. He felt such sorrow and agony that He told James and John, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.” Jesus knew He would not only die but take the judgment, anger, wrath, and separation from God that we deserved. But He did it willingly. And He did it for us. He died so that all who put their trust in Him alone would be blameless before Almighty God. Jesus Fulfilled the Passover
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. When Jesus came to Jerusalem that first Easter week, He didn’t just come to celebrate the Passover…He came to fulfill it! The very first Passover occurred when Moses was trying to free the Israelite slaves from Egypt. Pharaoh had seen God’s might and will through nine plagues that had come upon his nation. But Pharaoh, after making false promises, would go back on his word; and God would warn him again. The tenth plague killed every firstborn son except for the ones that had the blood of a lamb without blemish on their door frame. And that blood was the substitute for their sins. And for hundreds of years before, the blood of a spotless lamb was the only temporary substitution for sins. But Jesus…He came to shed the perfect, final, atoning blood on the cross. And all who put their trust in Him alone, God counts as righteous by His substitution. For more about the Gospel and how to share it, visit ShareLife.Today.

The Messiah’s Triumphant Entry
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. What a meaningful week we’ve just started! And walking through Easter with your family, friends, and even strangers can be a wonderful way to share the Gospel with them. Because truly, the Good News of the Gospel happened that very first Easter week and started with Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey. At first glance, that may not seem like much…but truly, this was an amazing and powerful act. Jesus’ entry on a donkey claimed His rightful place as their Messiah—the One who came to save His people from their sins. Every Jew there would have known Zechariah’s prophecy of the King and the Messiah coming—triumphant and victorious!—on a donkey colt. And that’s why they shouted “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” King Jesus came to be the sacrifice for sinful humans. And all who place their trust in Him alone, “He gives the right to become children of God.” For more, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Strengthened to Serve
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Psalm 73 says it well, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Through the deep gratitude that we have for our Savior, we use the strength He gives us to serve others. And it’s a delight to His heart when we do. Jesus said in Matthew twenty-five that if we help the less fortunate…”whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” As children of God, our hearts should be aligned with God’s heart. And God tells us God is patiently waiting so as many as would call on His name would have a chance to do so. Today is the day we should serve others and tell them the Greatest News: that Jesus loves them and has died on the cross to take on the penalty for their sins. For all who put their trust in Him and Him alone, He gives them the right to become children of God. For more, visit ShareLife.Today.

Strengthened Against Evil
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. I don’t know about you; but sometimes it seems like we could use some armor. Between the temperature of our culture and the crazy things that we see on the news, some protection would be welcome! Ephesians 6 tells us that we should “put on the whole armor of God, that [we] may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but…against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” God protects us even against things that our eyes cannot see. He has already defeated the enemy through Jesus’ death and resurrection! We celebrate because Jesus is the victor. He’s crushed the head of the enemy. But while we are here on earth sharing the Good News of what He has done with others, we need to put on the armor of God and stand strong. And we’d love to help! Strengthened by Grace
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Paul gives a blessing to Timothy in 2nd Timothy 2:1 that he would “be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” Now, I’d like to pray that same blessing over you today! As you go about your daily tasks, whether good or bad experiences come your way, I pray you’ll be strengthened and held by the grace that is in Christ. You know, grace is one of the utmost attributes of love. It means we receive something that we don’t deserve! And one of the grandest works of God’s grace displayed is that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. When we place our faith in Him, we’re strengthened not in our own might but in His. Ask God today that He would not only strengthen you but also give you the opportunity to share the Good News of His grace with others. Strengthened in Faith
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. How do we live with strength? Do you know that when you become a child of God through placing your faith in Jesus alone, you receive the strength of Almighty God? We see a picture of this in one of my favorite Psalms: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” He is our bulwark—or fortress, in other words—that never fails. And when we place our worries and anxieties in His strong hands, He holds us and gives us peace. Paul tells us in Romans 4 that for Abraham, one of the great fathers of our faith, “no unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith…” And this is what happens when we rely on God—we grow strong. Do you know anyone who needs this strength and security in their life? Well, be praying and looking for opportunities to share the Gospel with them! Real Might
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series “The Real Real,” let me ask you today…what do you think true strength is? I think oftentimes, strength is attributed to the physically strong. We see people join the special forces training in the military and go through tasks that make even the strongest physically buckle. But you know, that’s not what real strength is. In fact, it’s something that isn’t dependent on how weak or strong we are physically. Real strength is God who can create the universe with the sound of His voice. No human strength can match His glorious might. And He promises to be our strength and fight our battles for us. When we’re His children who have placed our trust in Jesus and Him alone—His work on the cross—we have a Father who is our shelter and our might. Let’s not hold back from sharing with others how they can find their rest and their strength in Jesus as well. For more, visit ShareLife.Today.

Walking in Righteousness
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Have you heard this beautiful chapter before? In Psalm 23, we see a picture of what resting in the Lord looks like. He “makes [us] lie down in green pastures; He leads us by quiet waters; He restores [our] souls.” This peace happens as a by-product of walking with God. From the very first moment we are born again through placing our trust in Jesus alone, we’re on an incredible journey of God restoring us through the righteousness of His Son. He grows us in the Fruit of the Spirit, such as peace and joy, as well as gives us Spiritual gifts we can use in service to Him. “He leads [us] on paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” And one of the ways that we can glorify His name is by sharing the Gospel with others. We get the privilege of sharing the Gospel of peace with others. Don’t know how to start? We’d love to help. Visit our website at sharelife.today.

The New Testament Cross
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life…” You see, God is holy and perfect. In fact, the book of Habakkuk says that “His eyes are too pure to look upon evil; He can’t tolerate wrong.” And according to Matthew, the standard we all must meet is to “be perfect, as our Heavenly Father is perfect.” You see, we have a big problem. And there is a payment due or a wage for our wrongdoings…and that is death. But praise be to God! He had a plan to redeem us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and die on the cross in our place. And all who believe in Him, “He gives the right to become children of God.” We can sing, “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.” Learn how to share this Good News with others by visiting our website at sharelife.today. That’s sharelife.today.

The Old Testament Law
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Have you heard of the Ten Commandments? Well, you can read this famous passage in Exodus 20. A few of them are to have no other gods before the one, true God, to not take the Lord’s name in vain, to keep the Sabbath day, to not murder, to not steal, and to not lie. And in modern times, sometimes these laws of God are looked down upon. But truly, they serve an incredible purpose. Not only do they clearly show us what is right and wrong, but it also gives us a view to our own hearts. Jesus taught that if we hate someone, it’s the same as murder; if we think lustful thoughts, it’s the same as adultery. The law of God shows us that we need a Savior to forgive us of our sins. And praise be to God—a sinless Savior came for us. His name is Jesus. For all who put their trust in Him, they are declared righteous before Almighty God. Rely on His Righteousness
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever thought, "I just don't know if I can make it into Heaven?" Well, the truth is, you can't! You absolutely cannot make it into Heaven by relying on yourself and your good works. None of us will ever be good enough to get into Heaven. Now if that sounds like really bad news to you, it's actually quite the opposite. You see, if none of us can make it into Heaven by our own righteousness, there has to be another way that does not rely on what we do. Here's the good news: by accepting God's free gift of grace by placing your faith in Jesus, you CAN get to Heaven. The only way to get into Heaven is by relying on the righteousness of Jesus instead of your own good deeds. What a relief! You just need to trust in Jesus alone. Real Righteousness
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series, “The Real Real,” this week, I want to ask you…what do you think real righteousness is? Well, in our culture, many think and believe that right and wrong is a matter of perspective, but the Bible says something very different. God tells us there is a clear distinction between right and wrong. And we know it in our heart of hearts. In Jeremiah 31, God tells us, “I will put my laws on their hearts, and I will write them in their minds.” And He truly has. It’s called our conscience. We know when we fall short and commit wrong. The true miracle is that our perfect, holy, righteous God offers us forgiveness of our wrongs through trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. And then, He gives us a new heart of faith and obedience. We’re righteous through Jesus. Who can you share this Good News with today? The Fear of God or of Man
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Do you ever fear what others might think of you? Does it impact your decisions or what you talk about? You know, Hebrews 13:6 says, “We can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’” Jesus told us Himself before He ascended into heaven that He will be with us always, even to the end of the age. And we can take Him at His Word. There is no competition— the fear of what others may say or do to us should pale in comparison to the reverential fear and awe that we have for our Savior and Lord. Let our anthem be the same as Paul’s: to live is Christ; to die is gain. You know, there’s too little time that we have here on this earth not to share the Gospel with others! So the question is: will we? Or will we give in to our fears? For resources to help you in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. That’s sharelife.today.

Our Biggest Fear
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. What's your biggest fear? For some, it's spiders, or the dark, or falling from a high place. But for Christians, there is a great fear in sharing our faith. For some, they just don’t know where to start. Others are afraid of facing difficult questions or simply rejection. You know, we’ve all been there; and unfortunately, many believers never move beyond that fear. The problem is, Satan knows this and often uses fear to keep us from sharing the Gospel. But let me encourage you to take that step in faith. Ask God to give you courage. Pray that He will open a door for you to share His love with another person. God loves to prepare people’s hearts to hear the Good News, and He is waiting for people willing to step out in faith and speak for Him. God uses ordinary people just like you and me to point others to Christ. So let's put our fears aside, and let’s learn how to share! June’s Real Fear
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. The night the tree fell on her house, June was afraid; but her greatest fear was that she would not be good enough to get into Heaven. When Bill and a volunteer clean-up crew showed up at June’s house, she was overjoyed. She told Bill how she had taken refuge in the bedroom as she heard the tree crashing on the roof. Sensing the opportunity, Bill asked her if she knew for certain that she’d be with God in Heaven someday. Well, her answer was, “No.” She was afraid she wasn’t good enough to get there. And, you know, she’s right. None of us are. Bill said, “As I shared the sufficiency of Christ's death and resurrection that paid for her sin, June began to weep openly. God was moving as only He can.” That afternoon, June prayed and asked Jesus Christ to be her Savior and Lord! You know, we never know when the opportunity to share Christ will happen, but it will. Conquer Your Fears
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. What's keeping you from sharing the Gospel? Are you afraid that people won't take the time to have a Gospel conversation with you? Well, one of the neat things I’ve gotten to see over the years is what we at EE call “Divine Appointments.” The Holy Spirit is already drawing people to Himself, and when we step out in faith to share the Gospel, we get to be part of it. And people are open. In fact, they are looking for hope! And God promises He’ll be with us. In Matthew 9:35, Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful", and two thousand years later, it remains true. There are people around us every day that God has specifically placed so that we can share with them. And God’ll take our fears and turn them around for His glory. So don't let your fears keep you from witnessing to others, the Lord will provide the opportunities if you'll only ask! Real Fear
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series called “The Real Real,” let me ask you…what do you think a real fear of God is? Well for many, I think it may be misunderstood as fearing a vengeful God who will punish them for any toe that they place out of line. But the Bible tells us something different. In fact, the book of Proverbs describes the fear of the Lord as “the beginning of knowledge.” Now, why would that be? Well, Scripture describes our amazing Heavenly Father as ever-present in times of trouble, patient so that all who would turn to Him in faith have a chance to do so, and a gentle, loving Shepherd who seeks after the lost. A fear of the Lord is a reverence for Who He is—our perfect, majestic, omnipotent God. And in our reverence, we can celebrate knowing that He has made a way for us to have a relationship with Him through Jesus. Fix Our Eyes
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. I’m sure you’re not surprised to hear that we’re more likely to share our faith with others when we’re feeling encouraged in our own lives. So, I’d like to share a dose of spiritual encouragement from the Bible that centers on the phrase “fix your eyes.” Where? And on Whom? Well, the twelfth chapter of Hebrews gives this spiritual advice: “Fix your eyes on Jesus.” Fixing our eyes on Jesus encourages us because we can see our problems and struggles from His perspective. It also helps us to see people around us in a different light. They’re not simply there to help us or to hinder us. God has placed them in our lives so that we might influence them spiritually by being a friend, an encourager, or a Gospel witness. So, as you “fix your eyes on Jesus” today, be encouraged and tell someone about the Giver of your encouragement. For resources to help you share your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.
