    The Book of Psalms Lesson 3 | Freedom in Christ Psalm 51 & 139

    Looking at both of these Psalms, we learn from David’s life. We see that when we confess our sins and accept forgiveness given to us through the cross, we find freedom on the other side. Then walking in that freedom we are able to share our testimony with others.     This week, we are asking the question “What or Whom do you trust?” Verses 1-6 talk about those that put their trust in wealth and money and the consequences of that false god.     This week in Chapter 4, we are reminded that humility brings us closer to God, but requires us to release our own desires as we submit to Him.     The Book of James Week 6 | Heavenly Wisdom: James 3:13-18

    In Chapter 3, verses 13-18 James talks about two kinds of wisdom: Worldly or earthly wisdom and heavenly or God’s wisdom. We all need wisdom but we want God’s wisdom.“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.     The Book of James Week 5 | Change the Heart, Tame the Tongue: James 3:1-12

    In this first part of Chapter 3, James begins here by telling us that the tongue is actually an outward indication of inward maturity. Your tongue is small, but it carries great influence. As we direct the content of our hearts, we can change the impact, good or bad, of what comes out of our mouths.“But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.     The Book of James Week 4 | High Impact Faith: James 2:14-26

    This week we are learning what it really means to have faith alongside works and we’ll talk about low impact faith vs. high impact faith. Low impact faith believes, but High impact faith influences others, bringing them toward Jesus and builds the Kingdom of Heaven.     The Book of Acts Week 9 | What is the World Looking For?

    Since the beginning of time, people have tried to search for the meaning of life and findtruth in this world. Although the world can seem lost and chaotic, now more than ever, God wants to use Christians to proclaim truth in this world. Today, truth is relative. It is searched for in just about anything and everything. You believe that, I will believe this. So, How do we make God known today, in our culture, where people are pursuing truth in so many other avenues?“So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, ‘Men of Athens, I see that you are very religious in all respects. For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, “TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.” Therefore, what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.     Ephesians Week 8: A Submitted Heart

    Regardless of what current cultural contexts say, submission to authority is discussed in the Bible, which means God wants your eyes on his words around it, your mind to consider what that means for you, and for your heart to submit to His will and His authority.Ephesians 5:20b-24, 32 NKJV ...giving thanks always for all things to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.     Ephesians Week 7 | Grow up: Watch Your Mouth and Imitate God

    According to Paul, the Ephesians church needed to grow up. And he exhorted her to do so by watching her mouth and imitating God. Today, right now, all of us can grow up spiritually by applying the same truths.Ephesians 4:14-16 (NKJV) ...that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, (15) but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ – (16) from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.These teachings are available via video as well.     Ephesians Week 5: Unity of the Spirit

    Life is meant to be done with others. Unity is something that needs to be worked on, fought for. Only through our faith in Christ we are able to be in unity. In the first three chapters of Ephesians, Paul went in depth talking about what God did for us, His grace. Then he goes on and calls on believers to live rightly, in unity among His people.Ephesians 4:2-3 NLT Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.These teachings are available via video as well.     Ephesians Week 4: Paul's Second Prayer

    Paul had a Kingdom perspective. He knew that his ministry would mean personal suffering, but he also knew that there was an eternal value being produced as he shared the Gospel, even from prison.Ephesians 3:14-21 NIV For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!
