In this Psalm we see that God is our Shepherd who provides, protects and refreshes us in every season of life. Looking at both of these Psalms, we learn from David’s life. We see that when we confess our sins and accept forgiveness given to us through the cross, we find freedom on the other side. Then walking in that freedom we are able to share our testimony with others. In Chapter 3, verses 13-18 James talks about two kinds of wisdom: Worldly or earthly wisdom and heavenly or God’s wisdom. In this first part of Chapter 3, James begins here by telling us that the tongue is actually an outward indication of inward maturity. Your tongue is small, but it carries great influence. This week we are learning what it really means to have faith alongside works and we’ll talk about low impact faith vs. high impact faith. If you’ve spent time in the New Testament prior to this season you likely noticed that after the book of Acts most of the New Testament is written by a man named Paul. But do you know his testimony and the encouragement it holds for your own life? The beauty of Paul’s testimony is that by the power of the Spirit he left Saul, his previous life behind, and in faith stepped little by little into the grand call that God had on his life. Interestingly, even though the Bible tells us repeatedly our relationship with God is based upon grace and not works, there is an area where we are told to labor. Life is meant to be done with others. Unity is something that needs to be worked on, fought for. Only through our faith in Christ we are able to be in unity. In the first three chapters of Ephesians, Paul went in depth talking about what God did for us, His grace. Then he goes on and calls on believers to live rightly, in unity among His people.Ephesians 4:2-3 NLT Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
