Salvation is not just about the past. It is also about the future. The early church proclaimed the good news that Jesus will come back to restore all things and to bring about a new heaven and new earth. This motivated the early church to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives (Titus 2:12-13). In the same way, we are to be motivated to persevere because Jesus is coming back!

Today, we begin our study of the Book of Acts. Continuing on from the Gospel of Luke, where we learned about what Jesus began to do and teach, let us now learn about what He continued to do and teach by the power of the Holy Spirit through His people, the church.

The fear of evangelism can stem from various sources. Some people may worry about rejection or ridicule from others, fearing that their beliefs will be met with skepticism or hostility. Others may feel inadequate in their knowledge or ability to articulate their faith effectively. We must overcome our fear of evangelism.

Sometimes we lose our way in the Christian life. We need to know how to go back from doubt to faith again.

It takes faith to believe in the resurrection. But it is not an unreasonable faith. There are enough logical reasons to justify faith. Moreover, only those who truly believe can proclaim the Good News about Jesus with conviction.

Luke tells the story of the crucifixion from the viewpoint of the participants in the drama. As we see the death of Jesus from their perspective we become aware of the varied responses to the cross.What about you? What is your response to the cross?

It's important to understand why Jesus died on the cross. Failure to understand that will result in our failure to believe in Him in order to be saved.

Are you rejecting Jesus? Basically, there are three reasons why people reject Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Which one is yours?

It's hard when we go through tests of our faith, especially when it leads to failure on our part. We naturally feel ashamed and guilty. But why would God allow these things to happen in the first place?

Injustice is everywhere. We must confront it whenever we can. But sometimes, as believers, we suffer simply because we are following Christ. This is another form of injustice. But how do we respond during such times? Christ Himself shows us how.

How do we avoid temptation? We can learn from our Master Jesus as He faced His own temptations in the garden of Gethsemane.

Leadership is a privilege but also a responsibility. Leaders who are not healthy spiritually tend to mislead rather than lead like Jesus. It's important for leaders to take the time to examine themselves regularly in light of God's word and the movements of the Holy Spirit in their souls. Failure to do that will result in failure in leadership both in the church as well as in every arena of life.

The Christian faith is based on the life, death, resurrection, and return of Jesus Christ. He is the center of everything. But it's easy to forget. This is the reason why we must celebrate the Lord's Supper regularly and frequently. More importantly, we must understand why we are celebrating it.

We need to discern when evil is at work in our lives or in the lives of others. There are signs or indicators when this is happening. We must open our eyes and reject evil as soon as we see these signs.

Some people are afraid of the end of the world. Others are so eager to predict the precise sequence of events leading to the second coming of Christ. Of course, salvation itself has a future aspect. But God's will for us is to be watchful in the present, not fearful of the future. We know that when the Lord finally returns He will redeem us. So, in the meantime, we will be watchful.

Giving is an important barometer of one's faith. It shows where we are in our relationship with God. Our willingness to surrender everything to Him is an indicator of the condition of our hearts. But whenever we hold tightly to our resources, and we refuse to honor the Lord with our wealth, it shows that we do not really trust Him. How are you doing in the area of giving?

Christian leaders are called to serve and inspire others based on the ways and teachings of Christ. However, like all leaders, Christian leaders have blind spots that can impact their credibility. These blind spots are often hidden from the leaders but are obvious to the followers.
