A Better Way to Share Jesus
What if there’s a better way to share Jesus—one that’s not awkward, forced, or rooted in pressure… but actually works? In this message from Acts 2, we break down Peter’s first sermon—the moment the early church exploded with over 3,000 people coming to faith in a single day. And it wasn’t because Peter was perfect, polished, or persuasive. It was because he was:Spirit-filledRelationally awareFocused on JesusGrounded in truth and graceIf you’ve ever felt unqualified to talk about your faith, afraid of being a hypocrite, or unsure how to even start the conversation—this message is for you. You’ll learn:Why your imperfections don’t disqualify youHow to meet people where they are (without compromising truth)Why starting with Jesus—not behavior—changes everythingHow to build real bridges with people who don’t believeThe role of evidence, faith, and the Holy Spirit in salvationThis isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being available, intentional, and faithful. Because at the end of the day—it’s not our strategy that saves people. Why Christians Don’t Share Their Faith (And Why It Matters)
Why don’t more Christians share their faith? If the resurrection of Jesus changed everything, why are so many of us silent about it?In this message, we unpack Matthew 28 and the Great Commission to discover why evangelism and discipleship are not optional—they are the mission of every follower of Jesus. The early church didn’t change the world because of buildings, programs, or a few gifted leaders. They changed the world because every believer saw themselves as sent.In this sermon, you’ll learn:What the Great Commission really means (Matthew 28:18-20)Why “come and see” must turn into “go and tell”The real reason many Christians don’t share their faithHow to shift from a consumer mindset to a mission mindsetPractical ways to start making disciples in your everyday lifeIf you’ve ever struggled with sharing your faith, felt unsure where to start, or treated evangelism like it’s optional—this message will challenge and equip you.Your life was never meant to stop with you. The Answer You Didn’t Expect from Jesus
Have you ever asked a question… and didn’t like the answer? In John 12, a group of outsiders comes looking for Jesus with a simple question:“Can we meet Him?”But instead of a direct answer, Jesus gives something unexpected—a picture of a seed… dying. Why? Because the life we’re all searching for doesn’t come the way we think it does. This Easter message unpacks a truth woven into all of creation: death is the path to life. Surrender is the doorway to transformation. Resurrection isn’t just what Jesus did—it’s what He offers you.If you’ve ever felt like an outsider…If you’ve ever wondered if there’s more to life…If you’ve been trying to fix yourself but keep coming up empty…Jesus’ answer might not be what you expected—but it’s exactly what you need. You don’t need religion. You don’t need to clean yourself up first. You need resurrection. And that only comes through Him.This Easter, discover how real life begins—not by holding on… but by letting go.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! Why Not You
Ever seen someone somewhere they shouldn’t be?On Good Friday, we come face to face with a shocking moment at the cross—when the least likely person becomes the first to recognize who Jesus really is.A Roman centurion.A violent man.An outsider. One of the very people responsible for Jesus’ death. And yet… he’s the one who sees it.This message dives into Mark 15 and reveals a powerful truth:God does His best work in the darkness—and no one is too far gone for His grace. If you’ve ever felt disqualified…If you’ve ever assumed someone else was beyond saving…If you’ve ever wondered if God could really want you…The cross answers it once and for all.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! Unfair on Purpose
Life isn’t always fair…And deep down, that bothers us. We want justice. We want things to be right. But in Mark 15, we’re confronted with a moment that feels completely backwards.A guilty man walks free. An innocent man is sentenced to die. It’s not just unfair…It’s unfair on purpose.Jesus stands silent while lies are thrown at Him.Barabbas—the criminal—stands condemned. And somehow, the crowd chooses to release the guilty and crucify the innocent. Why? Because this wasn’t a mistake. This was the plan.Because here’s the truth we don’t always want to face: We are Barabbas. We are the guilty ones… And yet, because of Jesus, we walk free. This is the story of the Gospel: The innocent takes our place. The guilty are forgiven. And what feels unfair… becomes the greatest act of love the world has ever seen.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! What Are You About?
What are Christians actually known for?If you asked people outside the church, the answers might not be what we hope:Judgmental. Hypocritical. Close-minded. Fake. But what did Jesus say we should be known for?In this message, we walk through one of the most important conversations Jesus ever had—where He answers the question that settles everything:What matters most?Looking at Mark 12:28–34, we discover:Why loving God is more than a feeling—it’s a life built around HimHow loving people is inseparable from loving GodWhy knowing the right things isn’t enough if it doesn’t change how we liveAnd the honest question we all have to answer: Are we just close… or are we truly living it?Through real stories, personal struggles, and practical truth, this message challenges us to move beyond appearances and get to the heart of what following Jesus is really about.Because at the end of the day…what you’re about is what people experience from you.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Danger of Playing Church
It’s possible to look like you’re following God… without actually being changed by Him.In Mark 11, Jesus approaches a fig tree covered in leaves. From a distance it looks healthy and alive—but when He gets closer, there is no fruit. Later that same day, Jesus walks into the temple and flips over tables, declaring that what was meant to be a house of prayer had become a den of thieves. Both moments reveal the same warning: it’s possible to look spiritual on the outside while something is missing on the inside. The people in the temple were busy with religious activity, but their hearts were far from God. And the truth is, the same danger exists today. We can attend church, sing worship songs, serve on a team, and still miss the transformation God wants to do in us.Jesus isn’t looking for appearances. He’s looking for fruit. The good news is that Jesus didn’t come to improve empty religion. Through His death and resurrection, He made a way for God’s Spirit to live in us and truly change our hearts. The question this passage leaves us with is simple:When Jesus looks at our lives, will He find fruit—or just leaves?Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! Quieting the Crowd
One week changed everything. The same crowd that shouted “Hosanna!” on Sunday would shout “Crucify Him!” by Friday. What changed? Jesus didn’t—the crowd did.As Jesus enters the final week of His life, He walks straight toward a city that wants Him dead. He knows exactly who He is and exactly what He came to do. While the disciples misunderstand Him and the crowds try to shape Him into the king they want, Jesus refuses to be moved by praise or criticism. Why? Because clarity is stronger than popularity. In this message, we explore the beginning of the most important week in human history and discover how Jesus stayed faithful to His mission in the middle of expectations, pressure, and shifting public opinion. And the same truth applies to us today. If you don’t know who you are, the crowd will decide for you.If you don’t know what you’re about, you’ll spend your life chasing applause instead of obedience. But because of the cross, your identity doesn’t have to be discovered—it can be received.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! How Much is Enough
We’ve spent this series talking about money, possessions, wealth, and generosity—not because those things are evil, but because they’re powerful. The goal has never been guilt. It’s been freedom. In this final week of Headlock, we ask the honest question many people wrestle with:If generosity is how God breaks greed in my life… how much should I give?To answer it, we take a journey from the Old Testament to the New Testament—looking at Cain and Abel, Abram and Melchizedek, the tithe under the Law, the prophets, and ultimately Jesus and the early church.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Extra Point - Take a Snapshot
A snapshot of our calendar, banking apps, stress levels and thought patterns will quickly show us what kind of weight we are carrying. That weight is often buckling under the pressures we feel because of placing too much trust in the wrong places - our ability, our health, our family, our work, etc. But perhaps just putting our trust in the right place - with God - can make all the difference. Shaped By What We See
In this message from our Headlock series, we look at Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:22–33 and uncover a powerful truth: your eyes set the course of your life. Just like drifting off the road when you’re not watching where you’re going, misplaced focus can quietly steer your heart toward things that were never meant to carry your security.Jesus doesn’t warn us about money, possessions, and worry because He’s angry. He warns us because He cares. He knows we can’t serve two masters. He knows that what captures our attention will eventually capture our affection. So how do we know what we’re really worshiping? What we obsess over reveals what we trust. What we worry about reveals what we value. In a world saturated with advertising, comparison, and curated lives, Jesus invites us to something better — a single, steady focus on the Kingdom of God. When we fix our eyes on Him, peace replaces panic and trust replaces striving.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Extra Point - Giving is Faith in Action
From materialism to giving, we know that both things have to deal with our hearts and helping them be set free. Giving is the action of faith that allows us to be set free from the things that have a hold on us, and God always responds positively to his people when they act in faith. What’s Holding You?
In 1981, the walkways inside the Hyatt Regency walkway collapse gave way because they were carrying more weight than they were designed to hold. What looked secure collapsed under pressure — and lives were changed forever.Jesus gives us a similar warning. In Matthew 6:19–21, He tells us not to store up treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal. Why? Because wealth and possessions are not evil — they’re just not strong enough to hold the weight of your trust.Money can disappear. Markets shift. Jobs are lost. Health changes. Even the most stable things in this world can vanish overnight. So what is strong enough to hold you?In this message, we unpack what Jesus really meant by “treasures in heaven” — not bigger mansions or crowns, but something far deeper: a life anchored in the presence of God. A heart that trusts in what cannot collapse. This isn’t about guilt. It isn’t about pressure. It isn’t even ultimately about money. It’s about freedom. When we place the full weight of our security, identity, and hope on temporary things, we set ourselves up for anxiety and eventual collapse. But when we trust the One who carried the full weight of our sin on the cross and rose again in victory, we find something unshakable.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! More Than Money
Money is one of the most sensitive—and revealing—topics Jesus ever addressed. Not because He needed it… but because it competes for our hearts. In this message, we begin a new series called Headlock, wrestling with a deeper question beneath money, possessions, and generosity:What really has a hold on you?Why does the topic of money make us uncomfortable? Why does it feel more personal than almost anything else? And why did Jesus talk about it so often?Walking through Jesus’ encounter with the rich young ruler in Matthew 19, we discover that the issue was never about wealth—it was about the heart. A moral, obedient man senses something is missing, and Jesus exposes what’s quietly holding him captive. This message isn’t about giving more. It’s about being free.Because generosity doesn’t start with your wallet—it starts with a heart no longer mastered by the temporary.Whether you’re skeptical, curious, or committed, this message invites honest self-examination and offers hope that God wants something for you, not something from you. What—or who—has a hold on your heart?Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! Faith That Flows
What happens when the heat is on… but the vent is blocked? In this message, we look at how many followers of Jesus have embraced faith for eternity—but unknowingly blocked the flow of God’s Spirit in their everyday lives. We believe the message of Christ, but too often we stop short of living on mission for Christ.Through the story of Lydia in Acts 16, we see what it looks like to fully open ourselves to God’s work. Lydia didn’t just believe—she opened her heart, her home, and her resources, allowing God’s mission to move through her and impact generations beyond her own life. From ancient Philippi to modern-day Ecuador, this message reminds us that when we remove the blocks—mental, spiritual, or practical—God’s Spirit flows, the mission continues, and lives are changed.Maybe God is calling you to open your heart.Maybe He’s asking you to open your home.Maybe He’s inviting you to open your resources.Whatever it is, don’t block what God wants to do in and through you.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Extra Point - You CAN Make an Impact
We may feel like the most unlikely person to make an impact in another people's life, however, God used the unlikely, the ordinary, the messed up all the time! We see this to be true in Scripture, and if we pay attention, we'll see it in those who have impacted us, and in ourselves. Often it's the simple shift of allowing the transforming power of the Holy Spirit to change you on the inside, and flow out of you for others to see. Plan A: You
How did you get where you are spiritually?None of us arrived here on our own. Every faith journey—strong, skeptical, or somewhere in between—has been shaped by people God placed along the way. The bigger question is this: Are you part of someone else’s story? In this message, we launch a new series through Book of Acts, exploring how ordinary people were used by God to make an extraordinary impact. Through the story of Philip and the Ethiopian official in Acts 8, we discover a powerful truth: God’s plan to change the world isn’t angels—it’s people. Catch Your Breath
Life moves fast, and many of us are carrying more than we were ever meant to.In this year-end sermon, we’re invited to pause, catch our breath, and ask an important question: Do we really trust God with our time? As we reflect on the busyness, pressure, and weight of life, we look to the example of Jesus, who regularly stepped away from the crowds to spend uninterrupted time with God.In Gospel of Luke chapter 4, we find Jesus immediately after His baptism, filled with the Spirit and led by the Spirit, choosing solitude, fasting, and prayer before stepping into the most demanding season of His life. This moment reveals something many of us miss: spiritual strength is formed in quiet trust, not constant activity. This message explores how hunger, whether physical, emotional, relational, or material, can leave us vulnerable to temptation and lead us to carry burdens God never asked us to bear. When we try to “feed ourselves” instead of trusting God, we often take on too much and lose our spiritual focus.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! It Ain't Over Yet
Feeling discouraged this Christmas? You’re not alone. In this week’s message, Pastor Scott looks at the Christmas story through a very honest lens, because the birth of Jesus wasn’t wrapped in comfort, ease, or predictable outcomes. It was messy, confusing, painful, and full of unanswered questions.Just like George Bailey in It’s A Wonderful Life, maybe you’re looking back over the year and questioning where God is, why life isn’t working out the way you hoped, and whether anything good can still come from your situation. But the Christmas story tells us something powerful:God does His greatest work in the middle of disappointment.Mary and Joseph did not see how their story would unfold. When Enough Still Isn’t Enough
The Christmas season has a way of bringing out what’s already inside of us—and for many of us, that’s complaining. We complain about the busyness, the traffic, the long lines, the weather, family tension, and unmet expectations. It feels normal. It even feels justified. But is complaining really that big of a deal?In Week 2 of Christmas with the Kranks, we look at a surprising and sobering story from Numbers 11, where God’s people grumble in the wilderness—despite everything He has already done for them. And God’s response forces us to ask an uncomfortable question: What’s really going on beneath our complaints? The good news of Christmas is this:You may not feel like you have enough, are enough, or will ever be enough—but Jesus is enough. And when He is our focus, complaining loses its power. If you’ve ever wondered why discontent creeps in so easily—or how to break free from it—this message is for you.Jesus is enough. Rest in that. Trust in that. And let the gospel reshape how you see everything.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Extra Point - Motivation Behind the Measurements Matters
Measuring things - success, numbers, attendance, calories - isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the motivation behind the measurements matters greatly. This is where David got it wrong, and where many of us may as well. When we understand this, it should lead us to a life anchored more in God, than any thing else. Comparison Trap
The holidays are funny—they bring out the best in us… and sometimes the worst.Generosity skyrockets, families reunite, jolly attitudes appear (even from the grumpy among us).But then again…• Fistfights break out over flat-screen TVs 🤦♂️• Moms lose their minds over a Santa photo• “Uncle Larry” mentions politics• And parents lie about a forgotten Elf on the Shelf… againThe truth?Christmas exaggerates whatever is already inside us.And nothing brings out the crazy quite like comparison. In today’s message, we dive into one of the wildest family dramas in Scripture—Rachel and Leah in Genesis 29–30. If you think your holiday gatherings get chaotic… buckle up. Because comparison, envy, and competition were wrecking families long before Instagram ever did.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Good Water
In this week’s message, Pastor Scott challenges the consumer-driven version of Christianity that has become so common in modern church culture. Attendance at Southridge is growing, lives are being changed, and God is clearly moving — but with momentum often comes fear, doubt, and the temptation to settle for a comfortable faith.Jesus dealt with the same thing. Crowds flocked to Him as long as He healed, fed, and amazed them… but the moment He raised the bar, many turned back (John 6). They wanted the miracles — not the Messiah. They wanted comfort without sacrifice, blessing without obedience.Today, nothing has changed. In 2 Samuel 23 we meet David’s “Three Mighty Men,” warriors whose devotion to their king wasn’t convenient, casual, or half-hearted. Their commitment cost them something — time, safety, comfort, reputation, even their lives. And their example reveals what true discipleship looks like for us today as followers of King Jesus.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Miracle in the Memory
What if the strength you need for tomorrow is hidden in what God has already done?In this week’s message, Pastor Scott walks us through 2 Samuel 22, a moment where David presses pause in the middle of his story. Battle after battle, heartbreak after heartbreak—David stops to remember who God is and everything God has done. And maybe that’s the practice many of us have forgotten.Life moves fast. Worry piles up. Anxiety creeps in. We rarely slow down long enough to reflect, to remember, to recount the faithfulness of God in our own stories. But Scripture calls us to remember over 150 times—because remembering changes us. It grows confidence, shrinks fear, humbles our hearts, and strengthens our faith for the next mountain ahead.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Extra Point - From Fervor to Famine
Saul's zeal or fervor towards his beliefs ended up causing quite a mess for the Israelites during David's reign - a famine to be exact. And how can we partner with God to bring restoration and healing to others? Listen to Episode 199 as Pastors Scott and Cheryl discuss all this and more! Reverse Reverse
Ever had to clean up a mess you didn’t make? A disaster at work, your kid’s meltdown, somebody else’s decision that suddenly becomes your problem? It feels unfair, frustrating, and honestly… heavy. That’s exactly where King David finds himself in 2 Samuel 21. Israel is caught in the middle of a devastating famine, and the cause isn’t David’s failure at all. It’s a broken covenant from Saul’s past. Yet David is the one who has to step in, seek God, and deal with the fallout. What follows is one of the most difficult and heartbreaking stories in the Old Testament — a story full of tension, sacrifice, and unanswered questions. But it’s also a story that points beyond David. It points to a King who stepped into a mess He didn’t create.A King who hung on a mountain to break a curse He didn’t deserve.A King who brought life where there was death. In this message, we look at why these final chapters of 2 Samuel zoom out to show what kind of king David truly was and why his story ultimately drives us to Jesus. The One who cleans up the mess we could never fix, fulfills the covenant we broke, and brings an end to the famine in our souls. If you’ve felt dry, distant, weighed down, or like you’ve made a mess you can’t undo, this message is for you. New creation is already breaking in — right where you are.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! Hope for the Rebel
Have you ever known the right thing to do and done the opposite anyway? Maybe you’ve made a mess of your life and wondered if there’s any way back. In this message, Hope for the Rebel, Pastor Scott Beha walks through one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful stories in 2 Samuel — the rebellion of Absalom against his father, King David — and shows how it points us to Jesus, the Son of David, who died for rebels like us.When we run from God, He doesn’t turn His back on us. The same God who welcomed David back to the throne offers forgiveness, restoration, and new life to anyone willing to surrender the throne of their heart to the true King.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday! The Extra Point - Being Financially Faithful
Christians often discuss being faithful in many other areas of life, but when it comes to finances, we often skirt around the topic. However, as we fully surrender our lives to Christ, and through His grace at work within us, generosity will flow freely. Are we allowing it to flow freely, or are we living in our current circumstances instead? Listen to episode 197 as Pastors Scott and Cheryl dive deeper into the Sunday teaching and discuss how sometimes being financially faithful, may be working towards the giving goal a little differently.Sunday Teachings drop every Monday and new episodes of The Extra Point drop every Tuesday!
