    On a rainy Sunday afternoon, G41 went along to the Proud of Pollokshields Clean Up and made this podcast. We found a green fairy, yellow ponchos, litter pickers, bin bags and lots of local residents committed to making their community a better place.     The Hidden Gardens Birthday Party

    On Saturday 16 June, The Hidden Gardens in Pollokshields celebrated their fourth birthday with a special summer tea party that took inspiration from the festival of Basant, which takes place in Lahore each spring with residents celebrating the harvest with a massive display of kite flying.     Shawlands Academy podcast

    On 12 June students from Shawlands Academy organised a special eco-conference to celebrate the work of a three-year project partnering them with schools in Sweden, France and Cyprus. The Comenius project was sponsored by the European Union and was called "How to be an active citizen in a clean Europe". This is the final year of the project but the students' work continues. They want to show their commitment to environmental awareness by following the eco-school programme. The Shawlands Academy project has been widely reported on TV and press - including the G41 newspaper - and has won five accolades including an international award for European languages.
