    Analog - Series 1 Episode 2

Some people move through life like a spreadsheet. Others move through it like a story. In this episode, I explore the difference between what I call digital people and analog people. Digitals are precise, factual, and wonderfully efficient at remembering things like dates, names, and the soil pH required to grow asparagus. Analogs, on the other hand, ride the emotional waves of life, noticing strange details, telling stories, and occasionally earning an A on a book they didn't quite read. Through memories of airport crowds, high school exams, and a lifelong friendship with my very digital friend John, we discover how these two kinds of people experience the world differently—and why the world actually needs both. Most importantly, we look at how God works through the details of our lives. The strange moments we notice, the stories unfolding around us, and the emotions we carry may all be part of the larger story God is writing. Because in the end, the greatest storyteller of all is God Himself. Scripture: Romans 11:36 "For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen." Reflection Questions How might your ability to notice small details, emotions, or beauty be a way God invites you to see His presence in everyday life? What story might God be writing in your life right now that you're too busy—or distracted—to notice?

    Hello - Series 1 Episode 1

A 40-year-old refrigerator waits at the curb like a nervous child on the first day of school, and somehow that leads to a question: What's gone wrong with the world? In this opening episode of Still Bright Hope, Brian Ritchie reflects on growing up feral in the 70s, helicopter parenting today, and why none of the usual explanations—economy, government, gluten—quite solve the deeper ache. With humor, nostalgia, and a turn toward Psalm 119:130, this episode sets the tone for the podcast: honest stories, real questions, and the conviction that only God's Word brings lasting light. If you've ever wondered why things feel off—and where hope actually comes from—this is where we begin.
