When I (Ken) was getting acquainted with a woman whom later became my wife (she couldn't resist me), I had a keen interest in her. Now we are a family. Thirty-two years later we are still family. Yes, I still have a keen interest in her. Stick around; Jesus has a keen interest in you and wants a family too. Marcus and I continue in Ephesians.

Have you ever wondered why Ephesians says, you are saved by "God's predestined plan?" Or, more mysterious is the statement, "...he predestined us to adoption as sons through Christ Jesus." Marcus and I offer a laymen view and have a lot of fun doing it too.

My man Adrian Gargon is back! Yep, like it or not, gratitude is life changing. Giving thanks to God humbles us, brings joy and aligns our life with God's purpose. This is such a powerful reminder! Practicing intentional gratitude truly has a profound impact on our well-being, especially in times of stress or uncertainty. When life throws challenges our way, it can be easy to focus on what's going wrong, but shifting our focus to the things we're thankful for can really transform our mindset. Here’s a simple gratitude practice to try this week: Daily Reflection: Take a few moments each day—perhaps in the morning or before bed—to list three things you're grateful for. Share It with Others: Let someone know what you're grateful for—whether it's a text to a friend or a conversation with family. Mindful Awareness: Whenever stress or negative thoughts arise, pause and take a deep breath. Acknowledge the challenge, but then consciously remind yourself of a few things you're thankful for. How about you? What are you thankful for in this moment?

While reading through Matthew I, Ken, saw a few interesting parallels between chapter 6:9-13 and 26:36-46. Enter into the story and what do you hear?

Spiritual disciplines are what equip us to receive and keep what God is giving to us. They are the practices and habits that train and prepare us for more blessings from heaven. Lisa Lancaster is a remarkable woman who wears many hats. She is a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a certified chaplain with a Masters in Theological Studies. Despite her extensive qualifications, her life was not always easy. For twelve years, she suffered from two diagnosed fatal autoimmune diseases. However, her story is one of miracles, as she overcame the odds and emerged victorious, a testament to her faith and strength of character.
