Take Me Deeper-er

The guys pick up where they left off in last week's verse taken out of context. They also finish up Romans this week.

This week the guys start the podcast out normally. But, due to technical difficulties, we don't get any farther than the verses taken out of context. When you step ou tin faith, do what God has called you to do, be prepared for the attacks that are going to come.

We give the guys a week off so we can spend Resurrection Sunday with our families and they come back ready to dive back into the Romans study... after a lot of goofing off and sound checks and good pre-podcast talk that was included at the end in bloopers and outtakes. This week the guys simply read the account of the triumphal entry, crucifixion, and resurrection. Commentary is kept to a minimum to keep the focus on the reason for the season, and the reason for our hope. As the guys do their recordings on Sundays, we will be taking a week off before diving back into Romans. He has risen. He has risen indeed.

The guys talk about being the weaker or stronger Christian, and how to treat each other. How is our testimony and influence impacted by how strong of a Christian we view ourselves as.

This week the guys tackle how to live as a Christian, without purposefully making a brother or sister stumble

This week the guys have a guest in the studio - one of our listeners drops in to tell her testimony. And proof of God's timing as many of the topics covered in this week's study fit her testimony.

This week the guys are finally back together in the studio to finish out Romans 10 and start in on Romans 11. The discuss Israel's rejection of the gospel, but how that rejection is not total.

This week the guys take a break from Romans and interview Tyler Farrington of Eastern Wildlife Management about hunting, fishing, politics, and the organization mission-minded goal.

They remind us throughout the podcast that they are not scripted - they are just picking up where they left off the week before. This is important because the topic of faith repeatedly comes up through the study this week.

This week the guys don't get too far into Romans 5 because of all the rabbit trails they take. We've spent the last few weeks being beaten up by all the things we can do wrong. This week we begin talking about how we can know peace with God.

This week the guys discuss Romans 4. The big take-away this week is that our works should be love driven. We don't need to work to be saved; we show our love to God and our thankfulness for His salvation through our works. Casey wanted this added: Oh in the podcast. I said imputed actually right too. As a believer your sin is not part of your added value. But as a nonbeliever it is a negative values added to you… man I’m smart. Later in Romans we are told because our new heart desires to please God our sin because of Jesus is not imputed to us but removed. My goodness. My brain couldn’t say that in the podcast. Back in early December, 2024, Casey and Nate got together to record their very first podcast. This was before there was a name for the podcast, before Casey and his family moved to Jonesport, and even before there was a focus or plan for how the podcast should go. The events of the past few weeks weigh heavily on the guys as they sit at the table for this recording. We pray that as you listen, you can hear their hearts as they grieve over the state of the world today. Grief is messy, and so is this episode at times. It's only through the scriptures that we can even begin to make sense of everything that is going on.
