audio review - GI JOE REBORN from Devil's Due March 2004. Mark and Tim return to the Devils Due era & look at the 48 page special - G.I.JOE: REBORN from Devil's Due March 2004 Synopsis: Continued from G.I. Joe: Cobra Reborn #1. Continued in G.I. Joe: Reloaded #1. A new terror has emerged in the world - a unified legion of radical militias, powerful enemies of the United States, and even internal sympathizers. A terror known as Cobra. What were though to be random attacks and incidents throughout the country were actually orchestrated by a man called Cobra Commander. Disgusted (and arguably driven mad) by the "system" that taxes the little man and benefits the rich, he will launch a full scale war on our nation in mere hours unless stopped. In G.I. Joe: Cobra Reborn, we watched as the Commander gathered his forces, but on the other side of the coin, a frantic administration makes split second decisions to handle this crisis. It must be dealt with quickly, quietly, and efficiently, without invoking hysteria. With sympathizers to Cobra in our own ranks, the world needs a task force formed outside of the standard bureaucracy, operating in secret, unknown to even top military brass. The world needs G.I. Joe, and it needs them NOW. G.I. Joe: Reloaded brought the G.I.Joe story back to its beginnings in a new continuity. 14 Issues with two specials were first published in 2004 by Devil's Due. TJ 362 - Who is Dawn Moreno? (audio only version) Secrets from the GI Joe Comic archives from Talking Joe
Also available as video with images https://youtu.be/oOvabtUlIUA Who is Dawn? Secrets from the GI Joe Comic archives from Talking Joe The classified figure Dawn Moreno (AKA Snake Eyes) was revealed by BMac from Hasbro at Larry Hama’s midtown comics signing. So Dawn is coming, but just who is this character? Just as the Snake Eyes story is foundational to the original Marvel run, the Dawn Story is a key plot that runs through the IDW era of GI Joe. Dawn Moreno aka Snake Eyes III, is a character who was introduced by writer Larry Hama in the pages of G.I. Joe Real American Hero comics from IDW and continues to write for the character today, in the Real American Hero comics from Skybound , with issue 325 just released. I’ll call out that Dawn is actually only very rarely referred to as Snake Eyes. Much more common is Dawn .

TJ 352 - Marvel 30s Publishing order - Secrets from the GI Joe Comics Archives
Secrets from the GI Joe Comics Archives - #30s Publishing order and repeating Dreadnoks . Also available as YouTube https://youtu.be/GOOCu0SEUJo . Its the first of a new video series which looks at some of the mysteries of the Original G.I. Joe ARAH series from the 1980s. A curious thing happens with the order that the GI Joe story is told in the 30's of the original marvel run in 1985 1) the baroness testing out the Rattler after her part in the attempted assassination of Cobra Commander 2) the weird reuse of Dreadnoks destroying Skystrikers three times (coinciding with appearing on the covers to issue 30 , 32 and 35) 3) The multi art teams suggesting deadline trouble 4) the fairly long delay in addressing assassination plot point in issue 33. In this video I try and piece this together below, supported by clues from the original art, solicits information from "Marvel Age" and other clues. This is a video adaptation of the original text piece: https://www.patreon.com/posts/77868435

TJ 348 audio only - "The Center Holds" from Boom studios -written by Larry Hama with art from M.D. "Doc" Bright.
Mark talks with Tim about "The Center Holds" - a book that Tim was instrumental in making happen! Video also available here: https://youtu.be/cBOsSMGrHB4 "The Center Holds" is a four-issue comic book miniseries written by Larry Hama and edited/produced by Tim Finn, featuring the final art from the late M.D. "Doc" Bright. The project has been in the works for a decade and was announced by Tim Finn at the New York Comic Con in October 2025. It is a creator-owned work, published by BOOM! Studios, with the ownership shared by Hama and the estate of Mark D. Bright. Last year, artist M.D. “Doc” Bright — known for his work on Armor Wars, Quantum & Woody and others — passed away at age 68. And now his final work, with writer Larry Hama, The Center Holds will get released by BOOM! Studios next year. In the oversized first issue, per PR from the publisher, “A new superhero universe is born!” Specifically, the central idea here is that with superheroes just part of daily life, they’re required to join a union, or face serious fines for any damage from battles. “Enter the Superheroes’ Union: A team-up of genius Scyber, psychic Lakshmi, the mysterious Keeper, and child prodigy Nekkotron, among others, as they battle villains and bureaucracy alike. And though the delicate balance of mitigating damage while saving lives is already tough enough, they’ve got their own worries with a constant stream of villains rising up to challenge them.” In honor of Bright, BOOM! Studios and Hama are donating 2% of the sales of the book to The Hero Initiative. The Center Holds #1 hits stores on February 11, 2026, with covers by M.D. “Doc” Bright, Joe Quinones, Khary Randolph, and Chuck Patton. The Center Holds #1 Comic Script by Larry Hama Illustrated by M.D. Bright Covers by M.D. "DOC" BRIGHT and JOE QUINONES (Main), KHARY RANDOLPH (Variant), KHARY RANDOLPH (Incentive), CHUCK PATTON (Incentive), M.D. "DOC" BRIGHT (Signed Hama Incentive), TBA (FOC Reveal Variant) Available on Feb 11, 2026 | 48 Pages $5.99 A new superhero universe is born! In a world where superheroes have become commonplace, heroes are required to join a union or else face serious financial liability for the damage caused during battles. Enter the Superheroes’ Union: A team-up of genius Scyber, psychic Lakshmi, the mysterious Keeper, and child prodigy Nekkotron, among others, as they battle villains and bureaucracy alike. And though the delicate balance of mitigating damage while saving lives is already tough enough, they’ve got their own worries with a constant stream of villains rising up to challenge them. Follow along as the legendary duo of writer Larry Hama and artist M.D. “Doc” Bright, marking his final work, question the very nature of what it means to be a hero in this thrilling new giant-size issue! The Superheroes Union is at ground zero of the fallout, where even the most powerful among them are tested. Now, they must come to terms with their darkest secrets while facing their greatest enemy. Will they be strong enough to challenge Choler at his most powerful? The battle continues in the second issue of this epic miniseries by the legendary Larry Hama and M.D. “Doc” Bright. Joe: Origins #19 from IDW Publishing, released September 2010. Synopsis: "Larry Hama returns along with super-star Joe Benitez and it's a silent issue with Snake-Eyes! Not to steal from Stan but, "'Nuff said." Why are we reviewing GI Joe origins 19, a 15 year old comic, randomly the 19th issue of a book from the IDW continuity? Because G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #321 Will Be an All-New Silent Issue released October 2025 and will be a sequel to this issue! “This (ARAH 321) is another all-silent issue featuring the return of the sound-weaponizing characters introduced in GI JOE ORIGINS #19,” said Larry Hama. “They have developed an air-portable version of their sonic weapon and have mounted it in a stealth dirigible to attack the GI Joe installation under Camp Greer in the Utah desert. Snake-Eyes and Dawn Moreno having been at the sound-proof range in the lowest level of the Pit, are the only Joes unaffected, and must attack the airship by themselves.” Creative team Writer: Larry Hama Pencils: Joe Benitez Inks: Victor Llamas Colors: J. Brown Assistant Editor: Carlos Guzman Editor: Andy Schmidt Uncredited layouts: Larry Hama "I took a stab at another silent Snake-Eyes story, but with more complex visual storytelling and self-imposed parameters like keeping track of ammo and ordnance expenditures. "Wrote" it and did layouts. The amazing Joe Benitez did the finished art. It should be on the stands in September" - Larry Hama Facebook post Cover Credits Cover A: Artist: Joe Benitiez and Victor Llamas, Colors by J.
