Tao of Our understanding Alcohol Recovery Podcast
by Buddy C.
In this podcast, we discuss mystical works of literature, primarily Taoist text, and how they relate to alcohol recovery. Taoist Philosophy can be an excellent tool for embracing the idea of a "Higher Power." Nature offers all of the examples necessary for a concept of a source of all life, much different but yet very similar in many ways to more traditional religious thinking. Here is a link to an online version of the Tao Te Ching; https://ttc.tasuki.org/display:Year:1972,1988,1996,2004/section:1 Thanks for checking out our podcast. Byron Katie – The Work Part 1
Today we started discussing the work of Byron Katie. Lots of acceptance and laying the groundwork for next week when we get into more of the meat of her message. We also discussed how our thoughts are not us and that we should take our thoughts personally. Another view of the acceptance of what is. Chuang Tzu – Means and Ends – Is Suffering Our Greatest Teacher?
There was a great discussion today about grasping the ideas presented by the words rather than focusing on the words themselves. Do we focus on the finger rather than the moon that the finger is pointing at? Is it the surrender gained through our suffering that causes our insights?
