Taproot Church Twin Falls

In a world full of information, only the Spirit can open our eyes to God’s hidden wisdom in the crucified Christ and reshape how we live.

Paul said he decided to know nothing but Jesus Christ and him crucified? What did he mean by this and how does it apply to our modern understanding of preaching and the activity of a local church?

In this sermon we will see how Jesus did not come to satisfy our political preferences or temporal desires; He came on His own terms as the Unexpected King, the Unexpected Lamb, and the Unexpected Savior.

What do we see when we look at the church? Do we see a people with a bunch of problems or do we see a people who God has graciously gifted and is working in? In spite of their messiness, Paul begins his letter to the Corinthians by expressing sincere gratitude for the ways in which he sees God working in their lives.

With this sermon, we are wrapping up our pillars and values series, looking at our final two values: Community and Curiosity.

Our values help us with understanding how we interact with one another in the life of this local church. This week, we're exploring two of our four values: story-formed and small and slow.

This week, we work through pillars four and five, looking at how the church is the new humanity of God. As a people, we embrace the way of Jesus with a simple pace and rhythm. Additionally, we believe God has placed us in Twin Falls for the flourishing of this city. Prayerfully, we are becoming an non-anxious presence and a collective witness to the way of Jesus.

In this sermon, we're working through our second and third pillars. The gospel is the good news about what Jesus Christ has accomplished, and it is the motivation for choosing a life of formation in the way of Jesus.

Zechariah’s benedictus is a chiastic masterpiece that sings the praises of God’s promised plan of compassion through the incarnation of Jesus. 

In this sermon, we begin our Advent series looking at the rich heritage we’ve been given by entering into this season of preparation for the coming of Christ! We see that the longing of the human heart is ultimately satisfied in Christ.
