In the last episode James, Denny, and Tim helped Oak Village win the San Joaquin Valley Cross Country Championship and the California State Cross Country Championship. Ben West and Sally foiled Mrs. West's attempt to murder the entire Wugidgem family, plus her own sister, Jill Kelly. Today, the Wugidgems learn of an imminent major dark side attack. Dad learns he and Reverend Peterson have something unusual in common. They head for Immersion again for more training on how to defend against the dark side threat.

When I'm outside running and walking during this stressful time of self-quarantine and social distancing of at least six feet apart, I'm joyfully astounded at the mutual smiles and even brief pleasantries I exchange with everyone. In this prodigious period of pandemic, we are all catapulted into an environment none of us have ever experienced. Many of us have behaved in ways that reveal our dark sides. Many of us have connected with their compassionate side and helped total strangers in need. All of us are now spending time with our families and significant others more than we ever have. We need to make the best of that time. A good sign is families are venturing out together to get fresh and virus-free air for exercise and meet essential needs. But most of our time will be spent with our dear ones in mandatory or self-imposed quarantine. I think this a terrific opportunity for each of us to learn to love all creation. I have been working on being this way for many years and have written a Thriller and Magical Realism Fantasies. Then James ran into his nemesis, Mathias, in Oak Village's football game against Modesto. He agonized over whether to break his vow and play dirty football in the game he loves. In the end, he quit football and joined the cross-country team. Today we'll follow James, Tim, and Denny as struggle to make a difference in a cross country race. Then we'll be with the family as they come under an evil magician attack.

Today we'll follow Grace and Amos as they try to prove Reverend Peterson's innocence. Then we'll go with James, Mom, and the Russells to the Tabernacle.

Today James teaches Mom how to search the Internet to find precedents of software patents for Jill Patton's case against Sebastian Strauss. Then Charlie Connors of the FBI provides Mom with leads that may identify the evil magician.

Today we will follow James, Amos, and Grace as they ride their bikes along the river to the triple-trunk tree, where the evil beam originated, to look for clues. Then Mom enlightens James with her discovery about Dad's magic.

Last week we were with James as he rescued Whiskers the Cat with imagined , or possibly real, tiny beams of white light springing out the tips of his fingers and thumbs. Then we watched James and his dad as they train, physically and mentally, for the  father and son three-legged race. Today we'll watch them compete in the July 4th three-legged race! Next week we'll be with James and Amos on the sidelines as they cheer on Grace and Mrs. Russell to do their best in the mother and daughter three-legged race. On the morning of his thirteenth birthday, July 4th, 1994, James Wugidgem hung upside-down by his feet from the opening to the main storm drain on Oak Street. Beams of white light flashed out the tips of his fingers and thumbs. He reached down, gathered up Whiskers, and saved her life. He knew strange things were supposed to happen when you become a teenager, but nothing like this! This was too weird! 

The Palio Horse Race in Siena, Italy is an 800 year-old grudge match.  Our tour covered Cinque Terre, Portofino, Florence, Lucca, Puccini's Birth Place, Etruscan Cities and Tombs, and Italian Marble Stone Quarries.  We walked and hiked every day which was an excellent cross-training program enabling me to stay conditioned while recovering from running injuries.  I also continued doing my daily positive affirmations to strengthen my mental attitude toward running and overcoming obstacles.
