American jails are often considered to be among the worldâ??s worst. While jails in countries like Argentina, Turkey and Mexico are bad because of low standards, American jails are made worse by capitalism, green and apathy.

Six former police officers have been charged with stealing millions of dollars in cash and drugs while working undercover. Hundreds of cases based on the Philadelphia drug unitâ??s work have been thrown out, and about 100 civil rights lawsuits are on hold awaiting the outcome of the 26-count racketeering trial. Slavery starts with the police, and we';; take a look at how their criminality affects the mass incarceration of millions of Americans.

The nation- and the world are now well aware that America has a â??mass incarcerationâ?? problemâ?¦but do they realize how its really a modern day slavery problem? Weâ??ll look at a report on the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI), which is a public-private partnership between the Department of Justice, PEW Charitable Trusts, and the Council of State Governments (CSG). Do these leading organizations and coalitions see the connection to slavery and race as a major part of the problem?

The Florida DOC and the FBI have finished an investigation into a murder for hire scheme orchestrated by three DOC officers, active members of the KKK, against an ex-inmate. We�¢�?�?ll give you the details of how it all went down.

March 24, 2015 SEC. 2. INCLUSION OF ECONOMIC DAMAGE TO ANIMAL ENTERPRISES AND THREATS OF DEATH AND SERIOUS BODILY INJURY TO ASSOCIATED PERSONS. This is the language in the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. We'll show you how this piece of legislation has already put animal rights activists behind bars in Federal prisons. What do the abolitionists need to know, and need to do to protect ourselves from such legal tactics being used against us?

In yet another explosive series of revelations, The Guardian newspaper says that non-reporting and the shear numbers of police agencies across America (over 18,000) is behind the reality that at least half of all murders committed by law enforcement never become a matter of public record. Ultimately police killed twice as many people as reported by the US government, as we find out the FBI count of â??justifiable homicidesâ?? omits 545 people per year.

Cam Ward is selling government services to private companies that exploit forced prison labor. Sen. Ward receives kickbacks in the form of campaign contribution, while Alabama taxpayers foot the bill for housing, food, etc with a 400 million dollar budget, while the businesses get rich and the families of those incarcerated receive no help from their loved ones who work for free. We have an update from the frontlines of the slave revolt in Alabama. Our brothers and sisters in the struggle to end modern day slavery, and combat the most inhumane treatment and conditions on the plantations of America have given us an update on their fight (our fight), naming names and specific conditions- this is what the general public needs to know.

Ferguson has experienced a police shooting, which is looking rather suspect. Weâ??ll compare timelines between Ferguson and NYPD, as both have experienced highly publicized police shootings recently, and both followed after very public analysis of police criminality.

On our previous broadcast we started what will become a part of our regular narrative here on The Abolitionistâ??s Daily- a thorough breakdown and explanation of the Fedâ??s report on Ferguson. Just like a book club, weâ??re going to read through this together, because its just that important to the movement. In nearly a week since the U.S. Justice Department released a report detailing systemic racial profiling and police terrorism of people of color, are the Ferguson â??riotsâ?? now justified? We know that nearby Jennings, MO. shut down its police department, and now Ferguson is under threat from the Attorney General that they can be dismantled also- is this time for the New Abolitionists movement to lead the way in a strike against the entire system of â??justiceâ?? itself?

John Kiriakou exposed the Bush-era torture program and was subsequently sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Kiriakou spent 14 years at the CIA as an analyst and a case officer; now, after seeing prison torture and slavery with his own eyes, he plans to dedicate the rest of his life to prison reform.

Too much information to report on the first time we went into this story, so we will take it on in two-part format- America and its precedent of detaining entire families and enslaving them. The fallout behind the rapes, and abuses, the children being underfed and under developed, no medical care- and of course, the forced labor.

The U.S. House of Representatives recently approved funding for the Department of Homeland Security until next fiscal year. Republicans had held up funding for DHS in an attempt to overturn President Obamaâ??s executive action to give up to five million undocumented immigrants a reprieve from deportation. A federal judge blocked the Presidentâ??s order, but the administration has vowed to appeal the decision. In the meantime the top three private prison corporations are vying for the contracts to house those men, women... and children.

Florida Sen. Greg Evers, chairman of the Senate Criminal Justice Committee said he has received a series of letters from worried employees at the Florida Department of Corrections. While he maintains that the communications are completely unsolicited, he has indicated that he may have some of these individuals come to speak under oath about the corrupt officers, inhumane living conditions, how they are being coached to answer on employee surveys, and an overall atmosphere in which anyone faces retaliation if they speak up about allegations of agency corruption.

The spin doctors are hard at work covering up their inhumane treatment and the prison slave labor operation they have going across the nation. In the latest report from MTC, they claim inmates may have rioted to, "force their transfer to other facilities and ultimately influence the location of their deportation". We'll give you details on their findings, as well as vet out the legitimacy of their claims.

Three former guards at New Yorkâ??s infamous Attica Correctional Facility are in the very rare situation of actually facing criminal charges in the brutal 2011 beating of George WIlliams. Criminal indictments were brought against Attica guards Sgt. Sean Warner, Officer Keith Swack and Officer Matthew Rademacher. They were arraigned in State Supreme Court in Wyoming County on charges of first-degree gang assault, a law commonly used to help tame common street gangs like the Crips, Bloods or Latin Kings- but in this case aptly applied to the gang of prison plantation overseers that beat George Williams so badly, he survived with broken ribs, both legs broken, a broken shoulder and fractured eye socket. Their charge carries a minimum sentence of eight and one-third years in prison and a maximum of 25 years. Additional felony counts accused the officers of filing false reports and tampering with evidence. It was the first time, state officials said, that criminal charges had been brought against corrections officers for a nonsexual assault on an inmate.

Amazingly we warned you that what happened in Willacy County, TX. last weekend was not going to be the end of the plantation revolts. Now we find out that several work stoppages are now ongoing, or about to soon start. Willacy is an MTC owned and operated private prison with a long history of abuse and neglect- and inmates are fighting for proper medical care, in a familiar cry that has emanated from literally every corner of the country.

Currently Alabama is at over 190% of capacity, and after a series of inmate deaths, the never settled allegations of widespread rape of inmates by staff, and other human rights violations, the federal government is very close to stepping in.
