"For Though We Walk In The Flesh and Faith Promise Missions" preached by Pastor Danny Farley

Shady Acres Baptist Church was founded over 100 years ago in the edge of a neighborhood called the Heights. The first church was located at 2104 Bevis in Houston, Texas. Bro. Jack Wood was called in as pastor in the summer of 1974. The church began to grow and after remodeling the building several times, it was decided the church would move to a larger facility. The church bought Inwood Baptist Church on 7330 Vogel in 1985. It was not very long until the new church building on Vogel began to fill up; so for several years, Bro. Wood gathered the men on Saturday night to pray for the corner lot that was next to us. After praying and dealing with the owner of property, God gave us a green light. We bought that property and soon started building an even bigger building on the corner of Victory and Vogel. Because he had a desire to build the building debt free, it took seven years to complete the project. In 1992, Bro. Wood had to have open-heart surgery. The next year he developed diabetes. In 1995 he retired and the church called Bro. Danny Farley as their pastor. Brother Wood traveled for several years until he became very ill and passed away November 12, 1998. Missions was always Bro. Wood's heartbeat. He taught us all to love missions and to give until it hurt. Millions of dollars have gone to foreign fields from this church. It continues to be our main objective. Pastor Danny Farley continues the vision of world missions, and the church continues to lift up their eyes and look on the fields and give so others can go and fulfill the great commission written in Mark 16:15.

The podcast opens with Brother Paul, Sister Abigail Miller and family singing "The Great I Am Still Is". You can go to their website https://abigailmiller.com to purchase their music! "Lets Stand With Stephen" preached from Acts 6:1-15 by Brother Joshua Rhoades

The song "His Life For Mine" is sung by the men at Golden State Baptist College of Santa Clara California.  If Christ can die for us, may we be able to live for Him! In this day and hour, the need for the men of God to be bold, has never been greater! We find one such bold man of God in Acts 6. Stephen stood for the Lord and was bold. Stephen was faithful and full of the Holy Ghost in his life and in his death! May God find such men among us even today!

They became known as the "Band of Brothers" from Easy Company. These men worked and fought the enemy together! May we today be found faithful to do the same!

"Faith or Fear" preached from Joshua 3:1-5 by Joshua Rhoades

In Joshua 3, the nation of Israel was brought to a place that they had not been before. Their parents had been brought to a place that they had not been before and they failed the Lord in unbelief. The mistakes of others does not need to be our mistakes as well. May we choose to go with God, and find there are no regrets. There does not need to be any fear walking with the Lord. The greatest walk with God, is walking by faith!

  22. 99

"The Satisfaction of the Saviour" preached by Brother Joshua Rhoades from John 4

John 4 reveals that people haven't changed and our  problems haven't changed and thankfully Jesus hasn't changed!  Searching for satisfaction in everything but Jesus Christ will always leave us thirsty and searching for the satisfaction our soul craves. The only satisfaction our heart will ever find complete will be with Jesus Christ as our Saviour! There are several lessons we can learn as we study John 4.

"It's Time To Clean House" preached by Brother Joshua Rhoades from Numbers 25

Growing up as a child, "cleaning house", was quite a task that was not enjoyed. It was needed, yet I did not always want to clean the house. As an adult, it's healthy to have a clean house. As a Christian, it's imperative that we clean the "house" of our heart in our walk with the Lord. In Numbers 25, Phinehas took action when open sin was being committed before the LORD, Moses and the Israelites. The actions of one man to "clean house" impacted the nation of Israel! May the Lord find us faithful to "clean house" in our own family's and walk with the Lord!

    The Broken Down Altar

Many times our problems are not because of the White House, the Church House, but actually are found because of the altar being broken down in one's own house. The altar of God is not to be abandoned, but strengthened! May we be like Elijah "and he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down". Let us look at I Kings 18:30-38 and The Broken Down Altar.

Full In Power, Focused in Purpose, Acts 2:4-11

Who wants to be effective for the Lord? Who wants to do and be like the apostles of the early church? Many times we make the mistake of trying to live the Christian life without Christ. In this passage today, those early New Testament saints did not make that mistake.  We find in our passage today the "how and why" of those faithful saints of God, that were able to do great things for God. Ultimately, the "how and why" will help us focus on the 'Who" it is we are to be reflecting throughout our lives. May it be said that our living for the Lord is full in power and focused in purpose. Take a few moments with me, as we study Acts 2:4-11.
