    29 years of Williamstown Golf Course

    The staff at Williamstown Golf Course had some seriously good treats for their elevenses this week.Ollie and Dymphna jumped into the WLR car and arrived armed with Walsh's blaas, butter, and Tayto.Wayne, a valued staff member at the course was nominated by his mother, Mary to receive the goodies.The tea was poured, the chat was flowing, and hungry bellies were dealt with.Wayne told Dymphna, that on a very rainy day, they are looking forward to the summer sun and return of the golfers.On a summer day, the 18-hole course spread across 120 acres is filled with happy golfers.Play to listen back in full.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

    A Waterford Squire in Africa

    Dublin-born Edward Garraway moved to Rockshire in his youth and was educated at Waterford Diocesan School before studying medicine at Trinity College. His medical career brought him to Africa, where he took part in the Jameson Raid, with Garraway’s prison journals being of great significance to historians of the event.     One Man’s Mission: Mark White Raises €115,000 for WLR Appeal

    Waterford people to rally together in support of local teenager

    Community rallies around Garranbane NS for new sensory room

    Alexander William ‘Bill’ Anderson’s childhood took place at Mount Prospect, Ballymountain, Co. Kilkenny.His parents Paul and Eily were active with both the South Kilkenny and Waterford branches of the Irish Red Cross Society.     Waterford's Freya Marsh nominated for Young Athlete of the Year

    Waterford's very first television set

    Michael O’Brien claimed to be the first person in Waterford city, if not the Irish Free State, to have a television in his own home in 1935.From his family home in Jail Street, O’Brien devised an early prototype that received transmission from London.     Waterford's British Consul-General of the Philippines

    Kilkenny-born, Mount Sion-educated William Joseph Kenny would travel the world in the late 19th and early 20th century. His story began attending universities in Germany and France to working as a student interpreter in China and Japan. Kenny rose through the ranks of the British consular services, leading the Irishman to become British Consul-General in the Philippines in 1903.     The son of a Waterford man, Samuel S. Brannan went on to establish the first newspaper in San Francisco.Many commentators suggested that Brannan was the first to publicise the California Gold Rush.     St. Paul's Scout Group honoured at Waterford awards

    Waterford workplaces urged to see the Ability in Disability

    Hannah O'Mahony: Making Dungarvan Proud

    How many defibrillators are in your area?

    Tramore surfers chosen to represent Ireland at World Championships

    Counting the Cost of 25 Bonus Points: Are Students Losing Out?

    Got Land? Waterford Wants Campervan Sites on the Copper Coast

    Waterford Council are seeking land along the Copper Coast for use as an off-road campervan facility.This comes as the Council recently limited campervan parking at Kilmurrin Cove to designated places only.Citing road safety issues, as well as fair-use policy, the sea-facing spaces have been designated for cars only.That's according to local Independent councillor, Declan Clune.Following the erection of 'No Campervan' signs at Kilmurrin Cove, queries were raised by the public as to the reasoning behind the choice.Cllr.     Small Act, Big Impact: Waterford Man on Platelet Donation
