disability rights advocate kyblueblood returns to tell the epic conclusion to her story of what it was like growing up in the 1960's with siblings that had disabilities. She also discusses the hardships her family faced during this time due to a lack of services and supports as well as the emotional impact that it had on her and her family. Later, she discusses what needs to be done in order to make sure that Kentuckians with intellectual and developmental disabilities get the services and supports that they need in order to be able to live in the commmunity and are able to enjoy the same opportunities and experience life the same as their typically developing peers.

#38: Growing Up in the 1960's A Disability Rights Advocate Tells Her Story Part 2
In this episode disability rights advocate Robin Rider Osbourne returns to continue telling her story of life in the 1960's with a disorder. She picks up where she left off as she discusses being devalued and how her life changed after being diagnosed with a mental illness. She then goes on to discuss how her life changed after going off of medications which she took for her mental illness and how her quality of life improved. I then briefly discuss how Dr. Wolf Wlfensberger's theory of Social Role Valorization (SRV) came to be in the 1960's and how it can be used in today's society. The episode concludes with Robin asking for systemic change in Kentucky for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to bring Kentucky into the 21st century and encourages today's youth who are preparing to be self advocates to use this story as a history lesson so that future Kentuckians with disabilities will not have to go through the same painful history as those before them

In this episode, Common The Crusher and I discuss what steps could have been taken by WWE and Vince McMahon in order to save Chris Benoit's life following the passing of his close friend Eddie Gurerro. We also discuss the events that led up to the tragedy as well as discuss different things that could have been done differently by WWE in order to give Chris Benoit the time he needed to grieve and to get the help that he needed for himself as well as his family. We also give some advice to promotors in the wrestling business as it relates to mental health and addressing tallent within any wrestling promotion as it relates to mental health so that this sort of thing never happens again. Please Note: I accidentally said the events that happened on June 25th 2007 happened 26 years ago. I was incorrect. They took place 15 years ago and Eddie's passing was 17 years ago.

In this episode of The Blind Side, disability rights advocate Robin Rider-Osbourne tells her story of what it was like growing up in the 1960's with family members who have disabilities. She discusses the treatment that her siblings recieved as well as discusses legislation that is being filed to stop the restraint and seclusion of individuals with disabilities. She also gives a brief history of subminimum wage and how it impacted people with disabilities in the 1930's and how it still effects people with disabilities today. I briefly give a synopsis of how subminimum wage effected me and, both Robin and I urge listeners to talk with their legislators and advocate for the end of seclusion and restraint as well as the end of subminimum wage for people with disabilities.
