The Bubbles Effect: Marketing + Mindset Monday (5/4)

What if your next customer isn’t starting on Google… but on social? In today’s Monday Marketing + Mindset episode, I’m diving into one of the biggest shifts happening right now: social-first search. With new data showing that people are moving across 11+ platforms before making a decision, it’s clear that the way we show up online matters more than ever.I break down what this means for your marketing, from the rise of short-form video and platforms like Reddit, to how SEO, PR, and social content all need to work together (not separately). If you’ve been treating social like a standalone task, this episode will shift your perspective.Today's mindset tip is a new concept that really stuck with me: the cost of inaction. Instead of just asking “what if it works?”… what if you actually calculated what happens if you don’t take action? It’s a simple but powerful reframe that might just change how you approach your next move.✨ In this episode, I cover:Why social is becoming the new search engineWhat 11+ touchpoints means for your marketing strategyHow to make your content more discoverable (without doing more)The “cost of inaction” mindset shift and how to apply itIf you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to show up, consider this your nudge.🎧 Tune in and let’s build momentum.Read the entire article here: https://neilpatel.com/blog/social-first-ranking-strategiesJoin us in The Society for $1 for your first month with code: GuestPass 🥂https://stan.store/nbmktg

The Bubbles Effect: Wednesday Power Hour with Stefan Thomas

What if networking isn’t about selling… but simply starting a conversation? In this week’s Power Hour, I’m joined by networking expert and author Stefan Thomas, and this conversation is such a refreshing reframe on something so many business owners overthink. 😫From working in a shoe shop in the 80s to writing Business Networking for Dummies, Stefan shares how the most powerful business opportunities don’t come from pitching… they come from simple, human conversations. ❤️We talk about why networking feels uncomfortable, what people get wrong, and how to approach it in a way that actually builds trust (and leads to real opportunities). If you’ve ever walked into a networking event thinking “what do I even say?” this episode is for you.✨ This Week’s Focus:Networking doesn’t need to feel forced or salesy. It’s simply the start of a conversation. Why the word “networking” can instantly make us uncomfortableThe real purpose of your 60-second introductionWhy trying to sell too fast actually pushes people awayHow trust is built over time (not instantly)The “half-life of enthusiasm” and why timing matters in follow-upHow modern tools (like social + automation) support relationship-buildingNetworking is the start of a conversation, not a sales pitchYour 60-second intro should lead to the next conversationThis episode is such a good reminder that business (and honestly, life) comes back to connection. The Bubbles Effect: Marketing + Mindset Monday 3/23

This week, I’m diving into a few new Instagram updates… and a mindset shift that’s been on my mind.On the marketing side, I’m talking about what Instagram is testing right now. They’re experimenting with links in captions (finally 🥳), but there’s a catch... you have to be Meta verified, and you only get a limited number per month.I’m also hearing (from IG's CEO) that adding music to carousels can help boost reach, and trial Reels are getting pushed pretty heavily right now.So if you’re creating content, these are a few things I’d start testing this week. 💅And then on the mindset side, this is something that came to me on a run…I kept thinking about what actually happens when we show up.And I’m realizing that it’s kind of both everything and nothing at the same time.Because yes, people notice, but not in the way we think they do.Most people aren’t paying as much attention or judging as much as we think… and that’s actually a really freeing place to operate from. 🙌So if you’ve been holding back or overthinking showing up, this is your reminder to just do it.Because the growth you’re looking for is on the other side of consistency (and a little bit of fear), not perfection. That’s what I’ve got for today.Short, simple, and something you can actually use this week.I’ll be back on Wednesday with a new Power Hour episode. And remember… just like bubbles, we rise to the top. 🥂

The Bubbles Effect: Marketing + Mindset 3/16

Hey y'all, it’s Monday, March 16th, and you don't want to miss today's short episode! I dive into one of the biggest shifts happening in marketing right now: entity-based SEO. If you’ve been hearing that phrase pop up lately, you’re not alone. I shared an article about it in Saturday’s newsletter (which, by the way, goes out bi-weekly if you want in), and it ended up being the most clicked link so clearly this is something we all need to be paying attention to.Here’s the simple version: SEO is no longer about just using the right keywords, it’s about being understood.Search engines and AI are now asking:Who are you? What do you do?And how do you connect to everything else online?I chat about how Google is essentially building a “map of the world” through entities (think: people, brands, ideas), why keywords still matter (but aren’t the whole strategy anymore), and how the future of SEO is really about topic authority, depth, and connection. If your content still feels like a collection of random posts… this episode is your sign to shift into building a true content ecosystem.Because the businesses that are going to win? They’re not the ones using the “right” words. They’re the ones that become known for something. Then we shift into a little Monday mindset moment, because, real life.I’m sharing a very real behind-the-scenes of recording this episode… multiple times… with my microphone off 🙃 and how that kind of perfectly reflects the season I’ve been in lately.Transitions. Friction. Things not going as planned. And just a reminder that not every week is going to be perfectly dialed in, but that doesn’t mean you’re completely off track either!Sometimes it just means you’re in a different season. Or in between seasons. So this is your reminder to give yourself a little grace, take a breath and remember how strong you are ❤️As always, if you need someone to talk it out with, marketing or mindset, I’m here! And I’ve got two really good episodes coming out this Wednesday and Friday, so stay tuned for those. Thanks for being here, have a great week and I’ll talk to you soon 🥂Read the full article here: https://neilpatel.com/blog/entity-based-seoGet the newsletter here: https://nb.marketing/resources

The Bubbles Effect: Classic Bubbly Convo with Jessica Lerner Halprin

What happens when a recovering attorney becomes a tech founder…and builds a business around celebration? 🥂In this Friday Bubbly Convo, I’m joined by Jessica Lerner Halperin, founder of Swankey, a party-planning app designed to bring more ease, joy, and calm back to life’s celebrations.Jessica shares her journey from a lifelong legal career into entrepreneurship after navigating deep grief, the loss of her mother, the pandemic, and a major life pivot she never saw coming. What started as a frustration with how chaotic party planning had become turned into a bigger mission: helping people celebrate the small things, the big things, and everything in between. ❤️We talk about resilience, building a business later in life, stepping outside your comfort zone, why founders today have to show up online, and how social media and marketing have changed so much in just the last few years. We also get into the emotional side of celebration, why perfection is overrated, and how people remember how you made them feel far more than the napkin color.Jessica is thoughtful, funny, wildly smart, and yes… she also gave us some unexpectedly helpful “party therapist” legal wisdom along the way.In this episode, we cover:Jessica’s pivot from corporate attorney to tech founderHow grief and the pandemic reshaped her pathThe story behind Swankey and why she built itWhat founders need to know about marketing todayWhy people want to connect with the face behind the brandHow to celebrate meaningfully without the pressure of perfectionA few smart things to keep in mind when working with vendorsThis one is for the entrepreneurs, the hosts, the pivots-in-progress, and anyone who could use a reminder to celebrate life while we’re living it.Connect with Jessica + Swankey here: www.swankey.com

Morgan’s work focuses on helping people reconnect with what they already know to be true, by stepping out of the noise, building daily practices, and learning how to navigate uncertainty with presence and clarity. We talk about what he calls “training for the unknown,” and why learning to be present in everyday moments can become one of the most powerful tools for entrepreneurs, leaders, and anyone trying to navigate a busy, complicated world.Morgan shares how small daily practices, even just five minutes of quiet reflection or breathwork, can help us regulate our nervous systems, make clearer decisions, and reconnect with the person we actually want to be.We also dive into:• Why awareness is the first step to meaningful change• How simple practices can build resilience in uncertain moments• The surprising connection between slowing down and better leadership• Why modern culture makes presence harder, and more important, than ever• Practical ways to start reconnecting with yourself todayIf you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, stretched thin, or like you’re constantly moving but not always aligned with what matters most… this conversation is a powerful reminder that clarity often comes when we pause long enough to listen.Grab your coffee (or your bubbles 🥂) and join us for this thoughtful, grounding conversation. You can learn more about Morgan and access his resources at: https://morganrich.com

The Bubbles Effect: Marketing + Mindset Monday 3/2

In this quick Monday episode of The Bubbles Effect Podcast, I’m sharing a little marketing update and one mindset reminder that stuck with me this week.On the marketing side, there’s been a lot of chatter in the AI world over the past few days. Apparently more than a million users left ChatGPT over the weekend after news that OpenAI will allow the U.S. Department of Defense to deploy its AI models within classified networks. That sparked a pretty big reaction online, with a lot of people exploring other tools like Claude and a few others.Since I talk about AI quite a bit, and even built my custom GPT, Stella, inside ChatGPT, I think it's interesting to watch how quickly things can shift in the tech world. I share a little about the differences I’ve noticed between ChatGPT and Claude, especially when it comes to things like messaging, content ideas, and brand voice. Then on the mindset side, I share something that really stuck with me during my run this morning while listening to the classic book As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. It’s a really short read from 1903, but the message is timeless. ✨One line in particular stood out to me: “The world is your kaleidoscope.” It’s a reminder that while the world can feel pretty chaotic sometimes, the perspective we choose to take still matters. Our thoughts shape our emotions, our habits, and ultimately the direction of our lives. So this episode is just a quick check-in to start the week with some marketing news, a little mindset, and a reminder that even small perspective shifts can make a big difference. And quick note: the Bubbles Effect Newsletter will now be going out every other Saturday instead of weekly. If you want to join, you can sign up at nb.marketing/resourcesThanks for listening, and I hope you have a great week!

The Bubbles Effect: Wednesday Power Hour with Tim Delaney

What if the fastest path to financial freedom isn’t launching something new… but buying something that already works? 🤔In this week’s Power Hour, I’m joined by Tim Delaney, entrepreneur, real estate investor, and host of Business Buying for Financial Independence, to talk about the real power behind business acquisition.More than a decade ago, Tim bought a small local business with almost no experience and very little cash down. That one move changed everything. 🍷And here’s what we unpack in this short, high-impact conversation:⚡ Why “I don’t have enough money” is usually a myth⚡ How SBA loans and seller financing actually make deals possible⚡ The massive opportunity created by retiring business owners⚡ Why you should never go in and overhaul a successful business on Day One⚡ How Tim used early YouTube videos inspired by Gary Vaynerchuk to grow his wine & liquor store⚡ And why engaging on social media might matter more than constantly postingWe also talk brick-and-mortar vs. franchises, evergreen YouTube strategy, and the confidence hurdle that keeps most people from ever making the leap.If you’ve ever thought about:Owning a businessCreating financial independenceOr stepping into something already profitable instead of building from zeroThis Power Hour will expand what feels possible.Because sometimes the boldest move isn’t starting from scratch. It’s stepping into momentum. 💥Connect with Tim here: https://powerofbiz.com

The Bubbles Effect Classic Bubbly Convo with Casey Muze

Happy Friday, y'all! Which means, it's time for a classic bubbly conversation 🥂This week I sit down with rhythm-loving speaker and music therapist Casey Muse to talk about something we don’t discuss nearly enough as entrepreneurs: regulation, resilience, and the power of rhythm. 🎶Casey believes the brain listens better when the hands are moving, and once you hear him explain it, you’ll never think about leadership, trauma, or discipline the same way again. 🫶We dive into:How rhythm and neuroscience work together to regulate the nervous systemWhy trauma isn’t just a “red flag,” but information your body is holdingThe connection between memory, emotional response, and leadershipWhat resilience actually looks like when momentum disappearsWhy discipline, not motivation, is the real key to long-term successAnd the quiet truth behind “you’re just not good enough yet” (in the best way)Casey shares his journey from drumming on pots and pans at age two to building a music therapy practice, mentoring young men through his programs, and speaking nationally about rhythm, regulation, and resilience. 🥁We also talk entrepreneurship, storytelling as marketing, weekly cigar rituals, Dutch Bros coffee, and flip the script at the end so he interviews me back (which was way more fun than I expected!). This one is deep, honest, a little nerdy (in the best neuroscience way), and packed with perspective for any business owner who’s ever felt overwhelmed, burned out, or like their momentum disappeared. If you’ve been pushing nonstop without pausing to regulate your own nervous system… this conversation might be your reminder. ❤️Connect with Casey here: [email protected]

The Bubbles Effect: Wednesday Power Hour with Jordan Ostroff

What if building a successful law firm (or small business) didn’t require sacrificing your life, your health… or your flip flops? 🩴In this power hour episode, I sit down with Jordan Ostroff, law firm owner, CEO mentor, and founder of Lawyer With a Life , to talk about what it really takes to design a business that supports your life instead of consuming it.Jordan went from working 70+ hours a week, drowning in debt, and feeling completely burned out… to rebuilding his firm from the ground up after cutting $140,000 in bad marketing. Today, he works just 24 hours a week, by choice, and teaches other law firm owners how to do the same. And one thing he makes very clear?Working yourself into the ground is not a badge of honor. It’s not “risk” to change. The real risk is staying stuck. 💯We dive into:Why “burn it down and rebuild” isn’t as risky as you thinkThe mental health crisis in the legal profession (and why it matters)How multi-impact events (think golf + networking + fun) generate more business than Google AdsWhy you should live off your calendar, not your inboxThe delegation mindset shift most entrepreneurs get wrongHow to use AI to prepare for better delegationAnd why even Andy Warhol built a factory instead of doing everything himself 🎨Jordan also shares practical steps you can take today:✔️ Delegate one thing✔️ Add one multi-impact event to your calendar✔️ Start designing your ideal month , not just surviving your current oneThis episode is about designing a better life so you can build a better business and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you think. ❤️If you’ve ever felt buried in your own success… this one’s for you.Connect with Jordan here:JordanOstroff.com or find him on social as @lawyerwithalife.And as always, if something resonates, don’t just nod along, take one action in the next 30 minutes!Because just like bubbles… we rise to the top 🥂

The Bubbles Effect Classic Bubbly Convo with Andrea Nanigian

Life doesn’t always follow the plan we so carefully map out and this conversation is a powerful reminder of what can happen when it doesn’t.In today’s classic bubbly chat, I’m joined by Andrea Nanigian, a former corporate sales leader whose life took an unexpected turn when her son became suddenly and seriously ill. What followed was a years-long season of caregiving, resilience, and redefining who she was outside of her career. That journey ultimately led her to create This Way Up, a podcast supporting parents and caregivers navigating mental health challenges, and later to launch Car Oracle, a white-glove auto concierge service for busy executives. We talk about what it really means to start over, how life’s hardest seasons can prepare you for entrepreneurship, and why humor, adaptability, and “just doing the thing” matter more than having a perfect plan. We also dive into marketing lessons, organic growth, using AI as a thinking partner, and why trust and relationships still win, especially in industries where skepticism runs high. This is one of those real, honest, life-didn’t-go-as-planned conversations with champagne, Diet Coke bubbles, and plenty of perspective along the way.Pour yourself something bubbly and settle in. 🥂Connect with Andrea here: www.caroracle.com www.thiswayuppodcast.com

It’s a Monday episode of The Bubbles Effect, which means I’m sharing the most-clicked link from last week’s Friday newsletter, plus a mindset reset to start your week strong.🙌This week, I'm talking about the recent shakeup with TikTok, what the platform changes mean for creators and business owners, and why some users are already experimenting with new social platforms. On the mindset side, I dive into the idea of creating an unbreakable mindset, inspired by a talk rooted in the teachings of Napoleon Hill. I explore self-talk, discipline, repetition, and why success often comes down to the conversations you’re having with yourself... especially when things feel hard or uncertain. ❤️If you’re navigating change in your business (or life) and need a grounded way to refocus, this episode is for you. The Bubbles Effect: Wednesday Power Hour with Amanda Spann

This week on The Bubbles Effect, I sit down with Amanda Spann, author, entrepreneur, and one of the leading voices helping non-technical founders turn ideas into apps without losing their sanity (or their savings). 💸If you’ve ever thought, “I think my business might need an app… but I have no idea where to start,” this conversation is for you.Amanda shares her own journey from the music industry into tech, how imposter syndrome almost kept her out of the space entirely, and what finally shifted when she realized you don’t need to be a coder (or live in a dark basement fueled by Mountain Dew, ha) to build powerful software. We talk honestly about the mistakes she made building her first app, why so many founders lose time and money in the process, and how things have dramatically changed thanks to AI, no-code, and low-code tools. We also dig into one of my favorite parts of the conversation: how to know if you even need an app at all. Amanda breaks down her “vitamin vs. painkiller vs. oxygen” framework, shares real examples of when an app makes sense (and when it doesn’t), and explains why lived experience and domain expertise are now the biggest competitive advantage in tech.Plus, we talk about her upcoming book, I Have an App Idea, which walks founders step-by-step through building a revenue-ready app, without tech skills, and why this moment in time is one of the most accessible ever for everyday innovators. 💥If you’re curious about apps, AI, GPTs, scalability, or how technology can actually give you time back instead of creating more overwhelm, you’re going to love this episode 🥂Connect with Amanda here: Theappaccelerator.com@theamandaspannPreorder her book here: https://www.amazon.com/Have-App-Idea-Essential-Building/dp/1964686571

Hey y'all, it’s Monday, and we’re kicking off the week with a quick, grounding episode where marketing strategy meets mindset shifts 🔥In this short but powerful conversation, I break down the most-clicked article from last week’s Bubbles Effect newsletter: What’s the difference between AEO and GEO? With marketing acronyms multiplying by the minute, I simplify what Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) actually mean, how they differ from traditional SEO, and why a smart 2026 marketing strategy needs all three working together. Think featured snippets, AI overviews, long-form content, and how people really search today.I also share the key takeaways from the article (linked in the show notes) so you can quickly understand:Where AEO helps you show up with direct answersHow GEO supports visibility inside AI tools like ChatGPT and PerplexityWhy different content types serve different goalsThen we shift into mindset.I open up about recognizing personal patterns, breaking out of familiar loops, and choosing to respond differently... even when change feels uncomfortable. If you’ve ever noticed the same situations showing up again and again, this episode offers a gentle journaling prompt and a reminder that real growth often starts with awareness and a willingness to do things differently. It’s a simple episode to help you start the week informed, reflective, and moving forward with intention.Cheers to learning, evolving, and rising, just like bubbles 🥂Here is the article: https://neilpatel.com/blog/geo-vs-aeoGet the newsletter here: https://nb.marketing/resources
