“Where The Gospel Has Not Been Preached“- Romans 15:22-33
Last Sunday, Paul shared with the Roman church what distinguishes his ministry. Today, he shares his future plans mentioning three destinations to visit: Jerusalem, Rome, and Spain. He wants to take the gospel to Spain, where the name of Christ has not yet been preached. However, a stop in Rome is necessary for the apostle to secure prayer and financial support for this new outreach. “Joy, Peace, And Hope In The Holy Spirit“-Romans 15:8-13
Today, Paul concludes his exhortation started in 14:1 with a prayer of hope. This hope is the outcome of his unwavering faith in God, and His Son Jesus Christ. This is the kind of hope we need because we are living in a world that is filled more with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty than it is with hope. The hope Paul is talking about is an eternal hope because it finds its source in the God of hope. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgTo watch the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://www.youtube.com/live/eBPSlNN1AdU?si=XefkNw5l2ztXfck_

"Put On The Lord Jesus Christ"-Romans 13:11-14
One feature of our modern society and the age we live in is that we are slaves of time. We all keep careful track of time, but we tend to forget that God is also keeping time. He is working up to a time when He will end this age in which we live, and move on to the age to come. Today, Paul reminds us that we need to be aware of this fact and to do certain things. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.org

Advent Week Five: “Awaiting A New Advent” Revelation 21:4-7
The whole of Scripture is both a lesson in history and a promise for the future. Christmastime spurs us to look back and to look forward. We reflect on the wonder of the nativity, in which the eternal Son of God came to us as a lowly infant. But we also anticipate the future day when the resurrected Christ will come again, inaugurating the new creation. The God who came down at the first Christmas is surely, gloriously coming back again. God in Christ will return to make this world brand-new, restoring paradise and gathering the redeemed into it.For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgTo watch the full service or today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/VTyjzisHXs0

Advent Week Four: "Christmas in the Letters" Galations 4:4-7
In Genesis we were reminded that our creator God is a promise-keeping God. It taught us to expect that He would send a Deliverer to restore this fallen world, and that in Him all the nations of the world will be blessed. The Prophets provided for us a blurry image full of hope, expectation, and vague details about God’s redemptive plan. And then the Gospels gave us a crystal-clear lens through which we can see that Jesus is the one in whom all our hopes, all God’s promises, and all our longings are fulfilled. The New Testament letters offer a theological interpretation of Jesus’ life and ministry. Today, in Galatians, Paul describes the wonder of being adopted into God’s family through Jesus. He shows us that Christmas is a big deal. It changed everything with respect to our relationship to God the Father. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgTo watch the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/zVY8CHg2J64

Advent Week Three:"Christmas In The Gospel" Matthew 1:1, 17-23
The New Testament shows us that the means by which God’s promises are fulfilled, and the entirety of the plan God worked out through the Old Testament age, can be summed up in two words: Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament He is promised and anticipated, in the New Testament He is revealed and presented. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgTo watch the full service of today's service, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/3d9dEhLmTQk

Advent Week Two: “Christmas in the Land” Isaiah 9:1-7; Micah 5:2-5a
When we read through the Old Testament, we find that although God’s people were in God’s land, they were far from Him in heart. God raised up prophets like Isaiah and Micah who foretold the coming of the Lord’s salvation in a future, kingly Ruler. The promised Messiah would bring light to a people in deep darkness, tidings of comfort and joy to a distressed nation. When we speak of Christmas in the land, we see our great, promise-keeping God. He remembers His promises, and He remembers His people. We can be sure of this because of what God did in giving us His Son. The Lord Jesus’ arrival in history is in fulfillment of God’s word and His promises. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or for upcoming events, please visit us at cbc-scs.orgTo watch the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/BCyH6ZSFGLQ

Advent Week One: “Christmas In The Beginning”
It is easy to look at the first Christmas as though the story starts on the first page of the New Testament, with an angel suddenly showing up to a girl in Galilee. But the Bible is a two-act drama, and to start at the Gospels is to join at the interval. In a sense, Christmas begins on the first pages of Scripture. The Advent season comes truly alive when we think about the Lord Jesus. In His humanity, the second person of the Trinity was delivered into the world like billions of other babies have been. But Jesus was also divine, existing “in the beginning with God.” He was “with God,” yet He “was God.” For more information on The Cross Bible Church or for upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgFollow Us On FacebookTo watch the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://www.youtube.com/live/vI0eOM_1HaQ?si=TIzlCRA7FID8fZX7

“To God Be The Glory Forever” Romans 11:33-36
Last Sunday, the Gentile believers were warned against antisemitism and arrogance. Paul also revealed the mystery of God’s future redemptive plan for the Jews. Today, following the truths that he has shared with us, the Apostle finds himself in a state of mind and heart in which he can think of and do nothing else but burst into exultant praise of God – ‘O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God.’ For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit us at cbc-scs.orgFor the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/Lr170Z5bgzQ

“God’s Great Mercy” Romans 11:25-32
Last Sunday, Paul addressed and answered two questions: (1) Has God rejected his people, Israel? (2) Has Israel stumbled in order to fall? Today, to warn Gentile believers against antisemitism, and to prevent them from becoming arrogant in thinking that God has chosen them instead of Israel, he reveals to them the mystery of God’s redemptive plan for the Jews.

“It Is All By Grace” Romans 11:1-24
Last Sunday, Paul took a short excursion to answer the question of how people will call on the name of the Lord to be saved. Today, he comes back to his main argument dealing with two questions: (1) Has God rejected his people, Israel? (2) Has Israel stumbled in order to fall [to their utter spiritual ruin, irretrievably and permanently]? The answer to both questions is, “absolutely not!” For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgFor the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/YO658O2unJU

"How Will People Call On God To Be Saved" Romans 10:14-21
Last Sunday, in Roman 10:5-13, we learned that a righteousness that is by faith is now available to anyone who calls on the Lord for salvation. Today, in verses 14–17, Paul emphasizes that for someone to call on the Lord and be saved, they must first hear the message of the gospel and believe it. He further warns us not to remain recalcitrant like Israel.

“Believe And Confess Jesus Is Lord” Romans 10:5-14
Last Sunday, Paul identified two mistakes that the Jews make in their pursuit of righteousness and that results in their failure to obtain God’s salvation. He also gave us the answer to both. Today, in verses 5-13 he elaborates on the two key points he has made in verse 4. (1) Christ ends the era of the law, making available a righteousness that can be attained through faith;(2) this righteousness is now available to anyone who believes. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or for upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgIf you like to watch the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/16wU7TFLbM0

"The Gentiles Are Included In God's Election" Romans 9:23-29
Last Sunday, Paul answered two objections to God’s unconditional, sovereign election.1. “Is it fair for God to choose?”2. “Is it fair for God to hold us responsible for our sin?”Today, he continues to answer those questions by adding that God has foretold these things in Scripture. “The Justice of God in Unconditional Election” Romans 9:14-2
Last Sunday, Paul argued that God’s promises to Israel have not failed, and that God unconditionally chooses who He will save and who He will pass by. God's justice and mercy in choosing raises questions about His fairness. Today Paul anticipates two objections and he answers them. 1) “Is God unfair in choosing some for salvation but not others?” 2) “Is God unfair to still hold sinners responsible for their sin?”For more information or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgFor full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/GCIws2k7RGs

“Two Israels and Two Illustrations” Romans 9:6-13
Last Sunday, we discussed Paul’s pain and anguish over the unbelief of his kinsmen, the Israelites. They are God’s chosen people, yet most of them are perishing because they have rejected their Savior, Jesus Christ. The reason this should matter to you is that, if God’s promises to Israel do not hold true, then there is no reason to think His promises to you will hold true. How can you be secure in God’s love and salvation to you when it seems that Israel was once chosen and loved, but now seems to be rejected and cursed? This is the question that Paul will answer in the rest of this chapter.

29
“Paul’s Pain For His People?” Romans 9:1-5
In Romans chapters one through eight, Paul argued convincingly that all, Gentile and Jew, are equally sinners and are justified by grace through faith in Jesus. Now, in Romans nine through eleven, Paul deals with the problem associated with the condition of Israel’s general rejection of its Messiah. Today, we see Paul’s pain and anguish over the unbelief of his people, Israel.

"Who Is Jesus?" Matthew 16:13-20
“Who is Jesus?” is probably the most important question ever asked. It is so important that even Jesus posed that question to his own disciples. But He asks that same question of all of us. Anyone who claims to be a Christian need to answer that question because no one will come to Jesus until they have a clear answer to that question.

"Remember Your Creator Before the End" Ecclesiastes 11:9-12:14
Throughout this book we have seen the Preacher conduct social experiments in search of the meaning of life and existence. He tried education, work, pleasure, entertainment, and the accumulation of wealth and possessions, only to find out that they were all dead-end streets. Today, the Preacher reaches his conclusion with this statement, “The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

"Risk is Right" Ecclesiastes 11:1-8
Uncertainty can be paralyzing—but the Bible provides instruction to guide us as we look to an unpredictable future. There are times in life when the risks are high and in those moments, it's really tempting just to quit before we start. God has placed us where we are, and He has called us to action. Even when the conditions do not seem ideal, belief in Christ should inspire us to celebrate life in obedience and trust. Today, the Preacher urges us not to be paralyzed by our lack of knowledge but to use every opportunity to work boldly but wisely. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or for upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgIf you would like to watch the full service of today's message, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/ti4EnWl_wdI

'The Wise Way To Live Under The Sun" Ecclesiates 9:1-18
Pastor Mak is back from his missions trip and in today's sermon, The Preacher continues his search for the answer to one of the most important questions of life. “What is the meaning of life?” Solomon tried many different approaches in his life to find an answer. He tried materialism, pleasure, humanism, and even fatalism. The reason Ecclesiastes is so relevant is because these approaches are still being tried by many today. Therefore, the Preacher counsels us to enjoy the present life we have, and to make the best of a bad thing. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or for upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgFor the full service of today's sermon, please click the link below:https://youtube.com/live/glv-SARlFJM

"There Is Nothing New Under The Sun" Ecclesiastes 1:1-11 Plus Communion
The Book of Ecclesiastes is one of the most unusual books of The Bible. It has a spirit of hopeless despair; it seems to promote questionable conduct. The message of the book has long facinated and puzzled commentators. Many wondered if this book has anything of relevance to say to Old Testament people, much less to the church today. Yet, in our highly secular, can teach us. The book teaches us about life lived in the real world. Most importantly, Ecclesiastes teaches to live life with end in mind. Please also have bread and juice as Communion will be taken. For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgIf you would like to watch the full service, please click on the link below:https://www.youtube.com/live/4kWoYXE_oYU?si=hvQ_RPfje90yrvVE

"Healing For Hurting Hearts" Psalm 73
In today's sermon, Associate Pastor Aaron Cavanaugh preaches on Psalm 73. Does it seem to you that evil people seem to prosper? The Psalmist Asaph looked at simnilar scenarios in his day. It seem that so many good people died young and suffered hardship in this life, whereas many evil people are comparatively rich and seem to live in relative ease. All of this left Asaph wondering: if God is truly good and just, then why do evil men seem to prosper? For more information about The Cross Bible Church or upcoming events, please visit cbc-scs.orgIf you would like to watch today's full service, please click on the link below:https://www.youtube.com/live/Vs2MKm7oqfM?si=gWPrHvz2ZVHSM2nO
