2/27 Florida Weather 6 PM: Special Weather Statement

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Here's the situation. A weakening cold front has basically stalled out right over the peninsula. It's acting like a magnet for moisture, pulling in heavy showers and thunderstorms straight from the Gulf. This creates a tale of two states. South Florida stays mostly sunny and warm. Meanwhile. Central and North Florida deal with rounds of rain and storms. The good news? This front finally pushes south by Sunday, bringing drier air to finish your weekend. In the next 24 hours. Down in South Florida, you're seeing the best of the sunshine today. Highs reach a warm 79 degrees. Tonight stays mild with a low around 71. You might see a stray shower late, but most of the rain holds off. Saturday looks fantastic with a high near 80 and mostly sunny skies, though you could see storms late in the day. Heading up to Central Florida. Orlando and the surrounding areas. You're in the thick of it today. Showers and thunderstorms are likely. Highs top out near 74 degrees. Tonight stays cloudy with a low around 63. Rain continues overnight and into Saturday morning. By the afternoon, the rain tapers off and you hit 74 degrees again. Up in North Florida. Jacksonville and the north are seeing showers and storms this afternoon. You peak near 79 degrees before falling back. Tonight turns cooler with a low around 58. The rain clears out Saturday. You'll see mostly cloudy skies with a high near 66. Over in Tampa Bay, it's a wet afternoon along the coast. Expect showers and storms with a high near 78. Tonight stays wet with a low around 65. Rain chances remain high overnight. Saturday sees a high near 77 with partly sunny skies. High pressure builds in behind that front. This sets up a persistent onshore wind flow from the Atlantic. Expect a warming trend through the week. Highs climb back into the low 80s by Tuesday. You'll also see a daily chance for coastal showers. Boaters should note that winds increase by midweek. That could create hazardous conditions on the Atlantic waters. Keep that umbrella handy for the next couple of days. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

The fog lifts late this morning. Then, the heat turns on. South Florida climbs to 79 degrees under mostly sunny skies. It's a beautiful day if you can avoid the spotty weather. Down in Miami, look for a slight chance of thunderstorms after 7 P.M. Temperatures stay warm, dropping only to 71 degrees overnight. Central Florida is the bullseye today. Highs reach 82 degrees. Red Flag Warning | Florida Weather 6 AM

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast. It's Thursday, February 26th. Grab that coffee and step outside. You'll feel 48 degrees across Central Florida right now. That's the kind of morning where you question your wardrobe choices.. Then remember you live in paradise. South Florida, you barely noticed. Mid 60s overnight. Must be nice. Now the good news. Sunshine takes over today and temperatures climb fast. Central Florida pushes to 79 degrees by mid afternoon. Tampa Bay lands right around 78. North Florida reaches 74, but you'll feel some gusty southwest winds up to 17 miles an hour. South Florida warms to 76 with a slim chance of a passing shower later today. Folks, one serious note. Those gusty winds and bone dry air are a bad combination. A Red Flag Warning kicks in from 1 P.M. to 6 P.M. across northern counties near the I-4 corridor. No outdoor burning today. Not even a thought. Tonight settles in mild. Lows in the upper 50s to low 60s statewide. Tampa Bay, watch for patchy fog rolling in after midnight. Friday is the headliner. Highs soar into the low to mid 80s almost everywhere. South Florida could flirt with 85 degrees inland. Moisture creeps back in, so afternoon showers and maybe a rumble of thunder become possible. Looking ahead, a weak front slides through Friday night into Saturday. That's when rain chances peak. Central and North Florida see the most action Saturday, though totals stay light, mostly under half an inch. Sunday dries out beautifully. Then high pressure parks itself over us early next week. Monday through Wednesday? Dry, warm, highs in the low to mid 80s. A few coastal showers could sneak in Tuesday and Wednesday, but nothing to cancel plans over. I'll be tracking that Friday front closely tonight. See you tomorrow with the latest. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Rip Current Statement | Florida Weather Noon

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. So Florida woke up at 48 degrees this morning. Frost advisories ran until 8 A.M. Across inland areas. If your windshield looked like a snow globe.. Yeah, that was real. But here's the good news. High pressure is sliding offshore right now, pulling in southerly winds. That means warmth is already on the way back. Down in South Florida, you're sitting pretty at 72 degrees this afternoon. Central Florida matches that. North Florida and Tampa Bay land right around 70. Not bad for a day that started with frost on the grass. Tonight stays comfortable. South Florida only dips to 66 degrees. Central Florida cools to 48. North Florida and Tampa Bay settle near 51 to 52. One thing to watch. Fire danger is elevated through Thursday. Humidity drops into the 30s this afternoon inland. And southwest winds bump up to 10 miles an hour today, then 10 to 15 tomorrow. If you're doing any outdoor burning.. Just don't. Thursday the heat keeps building. South Florida pushes 78 degrees. Central Florida hits 80. North Florida and Tampa Bay reach the upper 70s. Then Friday gets interesting. Mid 80s inland. Near 80 along the coast. Your AC might kick on for the first time in weeks. But moisture is building ahead of a slow moving cold front. Rain chances climb Friday afternoon, then showers and thunderstorms become likely Friday night into Saturday. Especially over North and Central Florida. We're talking three quarters of an inch to over an inch of rain. Honestly? The drought needs every drop. Sunday clears out behind the front. Onshore winds keep us in the 70s to low 80s through early next week. A few coastal showers possible, but mostly dry and pleasant. Charge your phones tonight. I'll have the full storm timing for you tomorrow morning. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Because tonight? The rug gets pulled out from under us. A cold front is barreling through the state right now. Behind it, Arctic air is rushing south like it forgot something in Miami. Winds are gusting up to 40 miles an hour. That's the kind of wind that steals patio cushions and doesn't apologize. Tampa Bay follows suit. You hit 74 today. By midnight you're staring at 43. Northwest winds at 12 miles an hour keep wind chills locked in the upper 30s. Push north into Central Florida and things get serious. Highs in the mid 70s today crash to the upper 30s overnight. Wind chills dip into the low 30s. Tomorrow's high barely cracks the mid 50s. We're flirting with the 80s again like none of this ever happened. I'll be watching the freeze situation all night. Charge your phone and set that extra alarm for the cold tomorrow. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
