Weekend Recap, Saint Patrick’s Prep, and How We Should Release New Music - EP38
Nick calls Moses and Casey from home to break down the highs and lows from the past weekend’s shows as the band gears up for their Saint Patrick’s Day gig. While organizing cables and getting interrupted by a French bulldog, the conversation turns to a focused discussion on future releases. Nick lays out the options for new Folk Hogan music in 2026 or 2027, including CD, vinyl, and digital formats, and why listener input should help guide that decision.

Bandsgiving DND Part III – Piper Down Pub and the Final Battle with Murphy and the Giant - EP37
It all comes to a head at Piper Down Pub. The final battle is here as the party faces Murphy, the Giant, and the consequences of everything they’ve done so far. Dice fly, plans unravel, and heroic moments emerge in the most Folk Hogan way possible. This is the conclusion of our Bandsgiving DND trilogy, replacing Jeopardy with combat, lore, and one last stand that feels way too familiar to anyone who’s ever played a show, loaded a van, or tempted fate on tour.

Bandsgiving DND Part II – Beer Festival, The Zombie Prince, and Inside of Moses’s Mind Maps -EP36
The journey continues at a beer festival that feels cursed from the jump. The crew encounters the Zombie Prince, questionable crowds, and a series of choices that may or may not doom the party. We take a hard left straight into the inner workings of Moses’s mind maps, where strategy, lore, and absolute chaos collide. This episode is heavy on world building, wild character turns, and the kind of side quests that only happen when Folk Hogan plays DND.

Bandsgiving DND Part I – Load the Van and Head to the Show (Space and Faders) - EP35
This year we’re skipping Folk Hogan Jeopardy and doing something much more unhinged. Welcome to Bandsgiving DND. In Part I, the band loads the van, rolls initiative, and heads out on a cosmic gig that immediately goes off the rails. Space bends, faders get pushed, and the line between tour life and tabletop chaos disappears fast. Characters are introduced, alliances form, and bad decisions are made early. This is the beginning of a three part Folk Hogan DND saga and things only get weirder from here.

Nick and Casey return for Episode 33 of the Folk Hogan Podcast — the first episode since wrapping the band’s 2025 tour across the Netherlands, Germany, and Austria. The two break down the final stretch of shows, travel stories, and the wild differences between playing at home and playing in Europe. Highlights include: • Treehouse living in the Netherlands • Staircase injuries & emergency rooms abroad • First impressions of German cities and venues • The Golden Crown club and Vienna’s full-block power outage • Late-night drives, festivals, and meeting international fans • Bitterballen at Local42, carnival chaos, and the final Irish Home Pub show • Returning home, jet lag recovery, and reorganizing all the touring gear • Moses launching his new guitar repair shop in Salt Lake City Plus: Nick has been editing tons of new live videos — check out the Folk Hogan YouTube channel for fresh concert footage from the entire EU run. EU episode – Live from a Treehouse Near Vaals – EP32
From their IKEA-esque treehouse hideout in Gulpen, Folk Hogan reflect on the whirlwind first leg of their European tour. The band recaps their first four shows: a kickoff night in Zandam filled with new friends and bitterballen, a packed second show at The Skiff in Hilversum complete with gifts and Flügel shots, a lively festival in Tabiste where they sampled fried noodle patties, and a tight, high-energy gig at Uncle Sam’s in Nijverdal that ended with some unexpectedly delicious Dutch Chinese food. Food and drink become running themes: Casey’s first taste of bitterballen lived up to the hype, the crew got “iced” in the classic Smirnoff Ice Game, and they discovered that Flügel Shots involve tiny bottles, a duck mascot, and drinking without hands. Coffee culture sparks debate too—Nick powers through the days with cup after cup, while Casey learns the hard way that ordering an “Iced Coffee” in the Netherlands gets you hot coffee topped with ice cream instead. They even share a story about McDonald’s almost helping with an ankle injury but delivering a bag of ice… and a paper bag instead of the ice pack they needed. The episode captures the humor, chaos, and charm of touring abroad: great crowds, quirky cultural differences, long drives, and a lot of gratitude for warm hospitality. It’s a mix of music, mishaps, and laughter that makes clear this tour is already one for the books.

EP07 - Kameron Klamtown
Podcast Episode 07 - Kameron Klamtown In this episode, recorded at Space N Faders, we chat with Kameron, our banjo player, covering two unique tracks on the upcoming Folk Hogan album. Topics Covered: "Blood From a Stone" This song carries a classic Folk Hogan Irish vibe. Kameron discusses the original riff, sourced from Moses’s phone recording. Notably, it's one of the few songs with a strong chorus on the new album. Big stretches on the banjo make this one challenging but rewarding to play. We listen to the bridge section of "Blood From a Stone." Fun fact: Moses doesn’t get mad often, but this song’s bridge section brings out the intensity! "All Good Things Die in San Diego" This song is the second-to-last track on the album. We share a cell phone recording from the studio where we first learned the song. A living wake for Larry the Legend is the inspiration, and you can watch the tribute concert here: Part 1: https://youtu.be/JxFElLO4QYA?si=SaZF0wWB90yAdq6Y Part 2: https://youtu.be/scX3RzvmYZ4?si=7gJN_wsc7rB7PFqh The drums in this song are powerful, setting an incredible foundation. Moses shares his thoughts on cutting lyrics about his grandma, shaping the song’s final form. Key lyrics include “With a full moon rising” and “I don’t want to live forever, without you.” Kameron explains how we crafted the backup vocals and intense ending. Ghostly banjo sounds give the song an ethereal opening, adding a unique texture.
