Jon Langston I GodDog Ep.13
On this week's episode of The GodDog Podcast, we have our good buddy Jon Langston in the studio. If you're into bird hunting, hunting dogs, stories of redemption and obviously country music then you're going to love Jon Langston. He is the definition of a good ole boy living out the country music dream, he's a husband & father, top notch artist and one heck of a hunter and we're proud to call him our friend. From Jon Langstons Website:The epitome of a grassroots country star, Georgia talent Jon Langston gives new credence to the 10-year, 10,000-hour rule of mastering one’s craft. Arriving with a Gold-certified splash via the homespun, lost-in-love ballad “Forever Girl” in 2013—the first song he ever wrote—Langston has spent the ensuing decade on a mission to grow as both an artist and a man, working with some of the genre’s modern icons. A Georgia native schooled on ‘90s country heroes like Alan Jackson, plus classic rock, Southern rap, R&B, and more, his efforts have produced three EPs, a No. 1 all-genre iTunes debut (“When It Comes To Loving You”), and more than half a billion global streams—plus a 2022 Grand Ole Opry debut, sold-out headline shows, and a spot on mentor Luke Bryan’s annual tour.Wielding a warm vocal buzz drenched in raspy Southern soul and a modern-country sound blending warmth with in-the-moment muscle, Langston’s long-awaited debut album, Heart On Ice, was released on September 8th, 2024, marking his next step from open mics to country’s elite. Featuring 14 songs—11 of which he co-wrote—and produced by Jody Stevens, Jacob Rice, and Brad Wagner, the concept album infuses his country-radio roots with a fresh electricity and adds a bold sense of maturity to the singer-songwriter’s catalog of party anthems and ballads built on a wounded-but-still-beating heart. Early releases like “Whiskey Does” and “Ain’t No Cowboy” proved his knack for a romantic hook has only sharpened since “Forever Girl,” while Heart On Ice serves as a showcase of the intention Langston brings to both music and life—and a hint toward deep-feeling hits yet to come. Now savoring life like a glass of top-shelf bourbon—and making country music with the same barrel-aged patience—Langston can be found headlining shows across the nation.
