🎙️ Jew & Gentile Podcast Notes The One Thankful Leper — Luke 17:11–19 The Story Jesus is traveling toward Jerusalem when ten lepers—physically suffering, socially exiled, spiritually cut off—stand at a distance and cry out: “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” Jesus responds with compassion. He tells them: “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” As they obey, all ten are healed on the way. But only one comes back. A Samaritan — the outsider, the one least expected — returns to Jesus, falls at His feet, praises God with a loud voice, and gives thanks. Jesus asks the piercing question: “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?” And to the one thankful man: “Your faith has made you well.” Reflection — Where Are the Nine? God pours out blessings every single day. But: Do we notice them? Do we acknowledge them? Do we expect them? Do we assume we’re owed them?
