    King Yayati after enjoying the insatiable pleasures of the world, decided to retire to the forest, and devote his life to meditating and conducting sacrifices, devoting himself to contentment with simplicity. After attaining the heavens as a result, the King was asked by the King of gods, Indra, about the teachings he imparted to his youngest son Puru, to whom he had bestowed his Kingdom.     Having explained of the birth of King Bharata, Sage Vaisampayana goes on to speak of the following ancestors of King Janamejaya after Bharata; many  of whom had their maternal line originating from the celestials, both the demons, and the gods.     Ayodhya features in the Mahabharata both dependently and independently of Rama. Many Kings have come and gone, both in the line of Ikshvaku, and also not; not least during the Moghul rules, but also in the Indo-Aryan ages.     16. War of the Gods

    As the story begins to explain the advent of Garuda & the Snakes, prior to the great snake sacrifice, the introduction is made to Sage Astika, the saviour of the snake race. In the stories of Vinata and Garuda, features the celestial steed Uchchaisravas, who appeared after the churning of the ocean.     11. Sage Bhṛgu & The Saptarṣi

    This episode begins with the inquiry before the Snake Sacrifice, by the sage Shaunaka Rishi, to Suta Goswami in relation to his own heritage and line, namely that from Sage Bhṛgu, who is sometimes referenced within the framework of the Seven Great Sages, and sometimes not.
