Yesterday I freaked the fuck out.I didn’t yell, I didn’t grab a bag of cookies…instead, I froze.Over the last 2 months I’ve invested in myself and my business more than ever before.These were calculated purchases but they easily amount to the price of a luxury vehicle paid in full.I haven’t used debt as a tool to grow my business (yet) so releasing large sums of cash inevitably results in a smaller number in the bank.For some reason, seeing my account at this lower number threw me off, hard.My body began to panic.Not like full on freak out mode but definitely pit in your stomach, can’t eat, wtf is going to happen kinda vibe.I honestly wanted to vomit.I thought of my kids and how I wouldn’t be able to afford Roman’s private school, AJ would grow up thinking his mom was a failure, Scooter wouldn’t be able to eat his fancy Spot and Tango delivery meals anymore - if my bank account didn’t straighten out.Lies.The truth is I have recurring income that hits mostly at the end of the month, we have $100,000s saved as a nest egg.The truth is, I can trust myself and ultimately trust God, the one who gave me this incredible dream to begin with.And yet. All day. I couldn’t shake the feeling of recklessness, of wtf are you doing, of impending doom.As of today (a mere 12 hours later) I’m a free woman. I remember packaging up my first marketing course and diving into the “big push” as my former coach called it to sell it.The goal: sell as many courses as possible to as many people as possible. Keep the price low and focus getting a ton of eyeballs on it.In other words, build an enormous audience or your biz will die.I often wondered why business felt so hard.I figured my happiness and the true momentum would come on the other side of making money.Because then I’d be excited to tell you about myself and what I’d built.Then I’d be excited to show up. I watch so many online coaches and healers jump from one modality to the next, crossing their fingers that “yes! Nervous system regulation (or whatever new uplevel rabbit hole they’ve discovered is) is going to be THE THING that gets me feeling amazing, consistently, forever.”But is it? Probably not.Don’t get me wrong, I love the whole smorgasbord of methods and modalities the spiritual market has to offer, but I really am tired of watching well-meaning humans get more confused on their path as they add another thing to do or learn to their plate instead of clearing that plate and filling it with a whopping serving of pure, undiluted empowerment, straight from the Source.Truthfully, if these pathways aren’t getting you through the finish line, to the point of feeling connected with the most authentic, alive, empowered part of yourself, then your search is not over.And that’s a tough spot to be in!It’s tough to question yourself and feel doubt when you know this path of healing and helping others was meant for you but for some reason still don’t feel fully connected or like you’re able to maintain that connection no matter what Life throws your way.This episode will clarify everything. Hello beautiful friend!!!Okay so the coaching industry is blowing up with new people joining all sorts of premium level masterminds and as these spaces grow I can’t help but feel a little…angry.Let me tell you, if I had come into a high level space, paying upwards of $20k six years ago I would have failed, not just financially, but on a personal level too. Because here’s the thing, I had a shit ton of trauma that I had yet to clear, and being in that unhealed phase would have ensured that my ego would have been running the show, calling the shots and ultimately running me into the ground along with it.Because here’s the truth, you cannot build something from your soul when your ego is running the show. You cannot feel 100% aligned, in power, able and confident in your abilities as a mentor when you’re so wrapped up in egoic perceptions of the world born of your past experience of life (i.e. traumas!).So when you follow a mentor who’s built a business without fully healing from her past (because she was either born happy, joyous and free OR she built the damn thing but also damn near burned it down in her angst after realizing money did not in fact, buy her happiness - I’ve had mentors who fit both molds) it’s so easy for your ego to get wrapped up in the idea that she’s your ticket to making this whole thing work without looking at your addictions, abuse, abandonment issues, mental illness, etc. You end up outsourcing your precious energy to yet another outside “fix” and in turn you receive little more than confusion, self doubt, and ultimately the idea that this calling was never yours to begin with (once you’ve been worn down long enough to believe that atrocious lie).There’s a better way. When I first started my online business (a decade ago!) I used to have this one niggling fear that stopped me from doing my job more times than I can count.It was the fear that I wasn’t “professional” enough to be a business coach. Cue all of the images of corporate America with their tweed jackets and conservative slacks. I tried that life, and it wasn’t for me. So I couldn’t figure out how to find the happy middle between being me and being who I thought you wanted me to be."Is my hair brushed? Can I wear these jean shorts?
