Cholesterol and Nutrition, What You Should Know

By attending this session you will learn about the different types of cholesterol, and the associated goal ranges. Chris Green, Pham. D. will provide an overview of the various cholesterol-lowering medications, and Melissa Kalb will discuss how a healthy diet can help to lower your cholesterol levels.

Department of Nutrition - Liz will discuss how your diet affects your blood glucose/sugar levels, in turn your energy and appetite, and the best way to get these levels well controlled. This presentation will also include how to count carbohydrate grams in your diet and basic label reading.

Stress Taming
Stress is very common in our daily lives and as you know we live in a fast paced society where there is little time for relaxation. If you have been feeling stressed at work or home this presentation may be useful to you. Some stress is good for us because it can help motivate and give us energy. However, when stress gets to the level of feeling overwhelming, it is time to pay attention to it. This presentation will offer some relaxation techniques and some new ways to think about stress. You may also listen to a short guided imagery breathing exercise as part of the program which will give you the opportunity to experience what relaxation feels like.

This online presentation discusses some important personal and interpersonal skills helpful in developing and maintaining successful relationships. Although the presentation focuses on intimate relationships, many of the skills also apply to friendships and workplace relationships and provides guidance for on-going personal growth.

Man to Man About Men's Health
For a variety of reasons, men do not tend to their own health and wellness needs. This has significant repercussions up to and including the fact that men in this country die an average of 7 years sooner than their female counterparts. This discussion about Men's Health points out some of the myths and barriers men have about their health and suggests some the solutions so men can get critical information they can act on. It emphasizes how Your Plan For Health can actually make it simple for men to have that information at their fingertips so they can identify personal needs when it comes to their health care.
