My top TIPS on reading the Book of Job with clarity and how faith leads to righteousness (how we can learn from Job)

Ep.43In the last episode we talked about the book of Job, specifically addressing the arguments people have against the book of Job and why I believe Job was a real man, including reading from multiple places in scripture. Proving the Bible is real by reading the Bible. If the Bible is the ultimate source of truth (which is what I believe), then I want to measure things to it.I recommend listening to that episode if you’ve ever struggled with reading the book of Job, have doubts, or have ever wondered why good people suffer, which is the core problem and theme of this particular book.I want to share with you my TOP tips on reading the Book of Job with clarity (or at least I hope this will give you some clarity). It can be confusing at times with all the different options about God within this book. I’ve read this book multiple times, most recently last week. I want to share what helped me in reading this book, and hopefully it will help you as well!So grab a cup of coffee or tea, a notebook, and your Bible, and let’s read the word of God together!+Were you blessed by today's episode? Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? Is the book of Job real? Let’s talk about it

At the end of our study in the book of James, a man named Job from the Old Testament was mentioned. Job is honestly one of my favorite books in the Bible. It is such a cool story, tragic, yes, which we will talk about in a moment, but amazing.Maybe it is the storyteller in me that makes these books in the Old Testament come to life in my mind. There are romances, betrayal, prophecy when people can see the future, God speaking, dragons (or at least the leviathan, who is a scaly beast that breathes fire like a dragon), battles, warring kingdoms, noblemen & women, evil queens & kings, fire falling from heaven, songs, love ballads, and the story of creation and the fall of man.The Bible is amazing and exciting! It is not boring at all. I have heard people say that it is, but I honestly don’t see how you can read these stories and think it’s boring. How can you read the story when Elijah calls down fire from heaven and asks the false prophets if their gods are using the bathroom or sleeping? Like that’s funny and awesome. You can read that story in 1 Kings 18. I just want to point out that the Bible is awesome! The Bible is also a true book. God’s words that will not pass away. Matthew 24:35 says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” The Bible is trustworthy because God is trustworthy and does not lie. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said it, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”One of these true stories is the book of Job. The book of Job tells the story of a man named Job who feared God. He was a righteous man and good father who loved his children and prayed every morning for their sins to be forgiven. Then the adversary, Satan, asked to hurt Job to prove to God that Job would walk away if everything was taken from Him. So Job was put through tests and lost everything: his children, his animals, his wealth, his reputation, his health, his sleep, and his wife, who was angry with him. His friends accused him (which is the bulk of the bulk of the book, being the conversations and opinions of his friends, which are not all true statements but are the opinions of man). This now takes us to why I am making this episode. I want to point out a view a lot of people, even Christians, will argue about. Many people do not believe the book of Job or the man named Job is real. Many believe this is a fictional story, and there are three main reasons why people don’t believe in Job that I’m going to address today.I believe the Bible to be the TRUTH. I also believe that Job is a real man and that the book of Job is a real story. I want to share why I believe this to be true by doing a little deep dive into the book of Job and answering this question: is the book of job real and if so why don’t people believe in it?So grab a cup of coffee or tea and your bibles and let’s begin this discussion. In this episode we will discuss:* Argument one: “Job is written as poetry indicating a literary fictional masterpiece but not a real historical tale” vs poetry does not mean a story is fictional* Does the Bible confirm the existence of Job in other books or passages in the Bible? With examples from James and Ezekiel.* Argument two: “It’s too fantastical to be real” vs believing in an all powerful all mighty God of miracles* Argument three: “Why would God allow Job—a righteous man who did nothing wrong—suffer?”* The problem of sin and our need for a savior+Were you blessed by today's episode? The power of prayer, a man named Job, and asking God for understanding (James 5:7-20)

Today we are reading the rest of James chapter 5! This is also our final episode in our James Bible study. We’ll be discussing the power of prayer, a man named Job, and asking God for understanding.* Bible Study EpisodesSo grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee or tea if you’d like and let’s read the Bible together!“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.“ —James 5:13-18PRAYER IS POWERFULAre you suffering? Pray. Are you happy? Pray. Are you sick? Pray and have others pray with you. Have you sinned? Pray and be forgiven in Jesus’ name. Confess your sins and pray for each other and be healed. PRAYER IS POWERFULWe get to read about these powerful prayers from believers. See Elijah, who prayed, and for 3 years and 6 months it did not rain. See Hannah, who was barren (meaning she couldn’t have children), and she prayed for a child, and God answered, and she was able to birth Samuel, who was a prophet, and she had many more children. Moses cried out to God and raised his staff, and the Red Sea parted, and the Israelites were able to walk on dry land and escape Pharaoh. King Solomon prayed for wisdom, and God answered, giving him wisdom like no other. Daniel cried out to God for understanding of a vision, and an angel came to answer him.PRAYER IS POWERFULIt is something all of us can do. All of us can pray. It is not a hard thing to do. If you don’t know how to pray, then I encourage you to read Matthew 6:9-13 & Luke 11:1-4, where Jesus teaches us how to pray. There is no one better to learn how to pray from than Jesus. So please pray, knowing that prayer is powerful not because of something we can do but because we are praying to the all-powerful, almighty God who can do impossible things. Nothing is impossible with Jesus. So pray with FAITH.+Were you blessed by today's episode? Trust in the Lord and submit your plans to Him

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. —James 4:13-16+Were you blessed by today's episode? Read the Easter story in John with me (Easter special 2026)

Happy Easter friend!Today we are going to be reading the most important story in the Bible as a Christian. The story that all our faith hangs upon. The story of our savior who died—taking on our sin and paying the price which is death—and who was raised from the dead and defeated sin! In Jesus we are saved. In him we are made righteous not by anything we can do but because of everything He did for us.“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” —John 3:16-17I’ll be reading from multiple passages in the book of John because I want to give a clear picture of what is happening. This (similar to our Christmas special) will be just me reading the Bible. I don’t want to have any commentary. I really just want to read this life changing story to you. This is the story of our salvation—of the day when we were saved and were adopted as children of God. Only through Jesus are we adopted as his children. Only through Jesus can we attain eternal life which is to know God.So grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee or tea if you’d like and let’s read the Easter story in the book of John together! What we will be reading today:* John 1:9-14* John 10:14-18* John 17* John 18* John 19* John 20+Were you blessed by today's episode? What is an idol?

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! My name is Moriyah and I am so happy you are here!My heart really is for you to fall in love with reading the Bible and knowing God’s Word. I want you to be strong in your faith and be bold in being a light for Christ wherever you go.Today we are going to be reading the first part of James chapter 4. The section is titled “A Warning Against Worldliness.” And we are going to be talking about idols & what they are.So grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee or tea if you’d like and let’s read the Bible together!A warning against worldliness. This is something I have been thinking about a lot lately. How the world–our worldly desires, pleasures, and passions–can actually lead us away from the LORD.It is so easy to be distracted by things that don’t truly matter. It is easy to sin and make idols for ourselves. What is an idol? What is an idol? An idol is anything that comes before God. It can be anything or anyone, not just an image of a “deity.” It is anything we love, prioritize, and focus on more than we do God. This can be an actual idol or carved image you hang on the wall, make a shrine for, or have a statue of. It can also be fame, money, power, friendships, your image, celebrities, music, art, books, social media, or the people you follow. I can be anything. They are easy to make. As Christians we want to be so careful not to make idols for ourselves.Listen to the whole podcast to learn more about how to fight against idols and read James 4:1-10!Thanks for reading The Other World Podcast! When you are waiting on a prayer

Sometimes it’s hard to be content.Sometimes it’s hard waiting on a prayer. You have dreams and desires in your heart that aren’t fulfilled. You have prayers that are unanswered. You are in a season of waiting but wonder if you will ever have that prayer fulfilled.I want to be content in every season.Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I’m angry. I doubt. I complain to God. Will you answer this prayer, Lord? Did I hear you wrong? I thought I heard you. I thought you said this thing would happen. Where are you? Where is the promised land? Will I ever see it?I want to be content, but sometimes my heart aches, and all I want to do is cry out. I try to hold it all together, but I am not strong enough. I’m learning to trust the Lord. I know He has a plan.Sometimes I feel like I’m in a desert. A lonely place of burning golden sand that stretches far out from me beyond what my eyes can see. There are no trees or streams in sight. Just rocks and sand. A barren place. A lost place.I don’t know what lies ahead.I have hopes and dreams and prayers.I have God with me. So long as my eyes are fixed on him, I know he will lead me through each step in the dessert. My pillar of cloud by day, leading me step by step, and fire by night that keeps my hope aflame. It’s when my eyes aren’t steady on him that I begin to sink in the sand like Peter on the water. Look to Jesus. Even if you don’t understand what is happening (I certainly don’t), turn your eyes upon Jesus. Jesus, we adore you and behold you, our Savior ever true.*I’ve read the story of how the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. They hoped in the promise of the Lord that He would lead them to the promised land. He led them by a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. Where He led, the people followed.I want to be led where the Lord leads. If He says go, I pray I will obey and go. If He says stay, I pray I will hear and obey. When I don’t understand, I pray my faith will be firmly planted in Jesus. I have hope. I have to trust the Lord and His plans. I pray He will be my strength.I don’t have it all together. I struggle and fear. But I know my God is good. I know His plans are for good. I pray that you know the same.If you are in a season of waiting, trust in God. Trust He knows what He is doing and that He is never late. You are loved by God. He is good. He has a plan for you.“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.“ —Jeremiah 29:11“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make straight your paths.”—Proverbs 3:5-6“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.Commit your way to the Lord;trust in him, and he will act.”—Psalm 37:4-5“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”—John 3:16+Were you blessed by today's episode? Why our words matter as a Christian and being loved by Jesus (James 3)

Today we are continuing our Bible study series on the book of James and are talking about why our words and what we say is so important as a Christian and are reading different stories in the Bible about how God showed love and respect to those who were seen as unlovable or hurting. When singleness feels like a curse and how to see this season as a gift

If you clicked on this episode, perhaps at some time in your life, you have thought that being single feels like a curse. We look around for our future spouse but are left with empty hands. We fear our dream of being married and having a family is only that—a dream. We fear we are not smart enough or attractive enough, like something is broken inside of us. No matter how many times we pray—or more often beg—God to unite us, the prayer feels left unheard. Unanswered. What if I told you that being single is a gift? No, really.I know what it’s like to feel like you are falling behind in life. Late at night when you try to sleep, your mind can buzz with worries and questions. You fear that your life will only start once you’ve found that one true love. Honestly, that is true for some people in some situations but not everyone. Sometimes God may call you into a season where you are going to walk with just you and Jesus and the Holy Spirit leading you. That is a precious gift. Thanks for listening to The Other World Podcast! Even the demons believe…but they do not obey (James 2)

Today we are continuing our Bible study series on the book of James and are continuing the last episode’s discussion on why faith along with obedience is so important. So grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee or tea if you’d like and let’s read the Bible together!-“You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!” —James 2:19Even the demons believe and know God is real. They know who Jesus is. When Jesus had his ministry on earth he would come across demon possessed people who knew who Jesus was and Jesus would rebuke them.“And demons also came out of many, crying, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.” —Luke 4:41The demons “believe” but they do not obey so their “faith is dead.”We believe—we have faith—and (hopefully) obey. That is where we are different from the demons. We have faith and that faith should lead to obedience. If we love Jesus we will do what he says.Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.“ —John 14:15This is why obedience is so important. Thanks for reading The Other World Podcast! God CANNOT temp us (James 1:1-18)

Today we are starting a brand new Bible study series on the book of James! I absolutely love getting to study the books of the Bible with you and am excited to start this new series on the podcast.Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. —James 1:13-15God is good and holy. He cannot tempt us.There is no evil found in God and no darkness inside of Him. For he is good and light. Holy, pure, good, and just. There is no twisted-ness in him. No darkness or variation. He does not tempt us.We are tempted and lured by our own desires—our flesh’s sinful nature that leads us away. Not God.Our desires can lead us to sin which leads to death. This is why we need Jesus. Jesus defeated sin and death on the cross and when he rose from the grave. In Jesus us our salvation. So grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee or tea if you’d like and let’s read the Bible together! Thanks for reading The Other World Podcast! Pray for India (Pray for the Nations)

I think it is so important that we pray for each other. Our prayers are so important. Not because of anything we can do but because who we are praying to. God is all powerful and able to do all things. How rejoicing in the LORD will change your life

My heart is for you to fall in love with reading the Bible and knowing God’s Word. I want you to be strong in your faith and be bold in being a light for Christ wherever you go.Today we are finishing our Philippians Bible study. As always, I recommend listening to the other episodes in this series for the best listening experience and to have better context. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.—Philippians 4:8-9This is what we should be thinking about. We want to think about what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, of excellence, and worthy of praise. We want to meditate on and focus on what is good. What you take in, will affect you. Who you talk to, who you are around, who you listen to will change you and affect how you see the world–good or bad. We talked about this in a previous episode asking the question, “does it matter who I am friends with as a christian?” and it really does matter. It’s not just the people we are around, it is also what we take in, what we read, what we watch, what we listen to, what we scroll on. All of it vies for our attention and can and does change you.I know this as a writer. What I take in, the books I read, the shows I watch, for good or bad their influence will start to show up in my writing. So I need to be careful in what I take in. I urge you to also be mindful of this.In all seasons we can trust in the LORD. He is our one constant in life. The one thing that we can rely on. We can do all things–endure the good and the bad–with the LORD.What is the secret to being content? “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” —C.S. Reading the Christmas story 🎄 2025 Christmas special

Merry Christmas!Today I wanted to do a little Christmas special on the podcast where we read the Christmas story together. I really just wanted to read this story. So are no Bible study notes today, just scripture. The birth of Christ (the Christmas story) tells the intimate, redemptive, true love story. It is the story of how God so loved the world that He sent His one and only son and that whoever believes in Him will be saved. God had given us a gift of salvation and the ability to have a real relationship with Him. When we pray, we can talk to God and know Him through His word, which is the Bible (and Jesus, who is the Word). It’s the birth of the savior of the world; God came down to be with us. I love getting to read the Christmas story (found in Matthew and Luke) every Christmas, and I hope you too will take time to read this wonderful true story this year as well.So grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee, tea, or Hot Chocolate if you’d like and let’s read the Bible together!Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. I encourage you, if you have children, siblings, friends, or family, to take some time to remember why we celebrate Christmas and read the scriptures with them.Christmas isn’t about the gifts, traditions, or music. Christmas is about the king of kings and lord of lords. Christmas is about Jesus!Christmas is a wonderful, beautiful holiday! Though sorrows may come, we can still find reasons to rejoice in all seasons. Even if it is only to find joy in praising Jesus! Thanks for listening The Other World Podcast! How to live a life that honors God (with examples)

Have you ever wondered how to life a life that honors God?In todays Bible study episode we are going to be answering this exact question! How can we live a life that is pleasing to God? How can we show the love and light of Christ to others?Philippians 2 gives us a wonderful guidebook into what it means to live holy and like Christ by following His example before us. In addition to having the example of Jesus, we have fellows brothers in Christ who gave their lives to serving Jesus and are mentioned in this chapter.More than just telling you how to live a godly life, I want you to have real examples that you can observe and study. I don’t want to give you a set of rules but to encourage you in a lifestyle that honors and reflects Jesus Christ. What does it look like to be a servant of the Lord? How are we to be humble? How can we think more highly of others than ourselves? If this is you, and you want to know the answer, grab your Bible and let’s read God’s Word together!+Were you blessed by today's episode? Living a life that honors God in life and in death

“as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” —Philippians 1:20-21On this earth we will suffer. We will face hardships and loss. To suffer as Christ has suffered.Jesus is who we follow. He is our example in life and in death. How do we live well? We look to the cross and follow in the footsteps of Christ. How do we die well? We look to the cross and follow in the footsteps of Christ. Jesus told us to take up our cross and follow him. To die to our own self and sinful desires and follow Jesus into holiness. To live is Christ—to struggle and suffer as Christ did before us. It is a part of the Christian life. It is for the glory of God and to be a faithful witness and servant of Christ. It is not all suffering. There is beauty and joy and freedom and great fulfillment in following Christ in this life. But greater than in life is the life after life. Life in eternity with Jesus—never having to leave His presence. So, to die is gain. For to the Christian, death is only a door.“For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake, engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.” —Philippians 1:29-30We are called to not just believe in Christ but even to suffer for His sake. To suffer as Christ did before us.It doesn’t feel good to suffer. But it can be seen as an honor. An honor to suffer as our Lord has. To be counted worthy to suffer as Christ did.“It does not hurt to suffer for Christ” —John Zizhong (a eight year old Christian martyr in the Boxer Rebellion)+Were you blessed by today's episode? Being bold for Christ and finding joy even in suffering

Today we are starting a brand new Bible study series on the book of Philippians!I absolutely loved getting to study the book of Ephesians with you and wanted to do another study. Before I do I want to give a little bit of background into this book.Philippians is a New Testament letter to the church of Philippi (a Roman colony) written by Paul when he was imprisoned in Rome around 62AD. This would have been around the same time Paul wrote the letter of Ephesians. The church in Philippi was also the first church Paul founded in Europe—which you can read about in Acts 16.We are going to be diving straight into this story. So grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee or tea if you’d like and let’s read the Bible together! Thanks for listening to The Other World Podcast! Pray for Nigeria (Pray for the Nations)

I think it is so important that we are praying for each other. We recently did an episode on “is our prayers important?” Yes, our prayers are so important. Not because of anything we can do but because who we are praying to. God is all powerful and able to do all things. We get to partner with God in prayer in making His name known throughout the world.I want to start highlighting different nations around the world where Christian’s are being persecuted, tortured, and martyred for their faith. I want us to partner in prayer together with our brothers and sisters around the world. I hope you will pray with me!+NIGERIAI want us to pray for Nigeria today.Nigeria has become known as the world’s center for Christian Martyrs. This year alone, in 2025, there have been 7,000 Christian’s killed. This is more Christians killed in Nigeria then all previous years. Nigeria is where the largest number of Christians are currently being killed—more than all other countries this year combined. This is about 35 of our brothers and sisters being killed in one country everyday and the numbers are growing. The persecution and martyrdom of Christians is growing around the world. What can we do?Pray for the Christians who are being persecuted and killed for their faith. They are martyrs and greatly loved by God. They are precious in His sight. Though it is a tragedy for us on earth, they are going home to be with Jesus! For that we can mourn and also rejoice that they have run their race and have gotten the prize.Pray for those who are enemies of the faith. Maybe one day they will become fellow brothers and sisters in the faith. This is my prayer. I hope you pray with me!+Additional ResourcesOpen Doors (Nigeria post): https://www.opendoorsus.org/en-US/persecution/countries/nigeria/Global Christian Relief (Persecution Report: Nigeria): https://globalchristianrelief.org/resources/countries/nigeria/Voice of the Martyrs (Prayer requests for Nigeria): https://www.persecution.com/globalprayerguide/nigeria/?_source_code=WBPGGPG20BInternational Christian Concern (What is persecution?) https://persecution.org/persecution-101/+Were you blessed by today's episode? What is my purpose in life?

What am I supposed to do with my life? What is my purpose? This is the question most of us will ask ourselves in life. What do I do with this life I have been given? There the question changes.A life given. You have been given life by God — the creator of all. He gave us life. He breathed the breath of life into our lungs. We are sinners. To sin is to disobey God. When we sin we are being like this world. To sin is to be separated from God. To sin is to be deserving of punishment and death. We have hope. His name is Jesus! This life is not our own.Our life belongs to God.So what does He want us to do with the life He has given us?I encourage you to read the Bible. In the pages of scripture lay the words God saved for us and wanted us to know. There you will find the answer to your question. To start you off I will let Jesus tell you what you are to do with your life. He gave us the great commission. His commands He have to all of us.The Great Commission“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:16-20This is what Jesus has called us to do. This is our purpose. This is our call.It is true we can have individual gifts and talents—things God put inside of us to bring Him glory and honor and praise. This is the universal call of a Christian. This is our purpose. Are you doing the Great Commission? Thanks for listening The Other World Podcast! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.+Were you blessed by today's episode? Do my prayers matter?

Today I want to ask this question: do my prayers matter? I think this is something a lot of Christians will ask themselves about; I know I have. Do my prayers really matter? Can my prayers make a difference in the world? We are going to read some scripture to answer this question.Do my prayers matter? The stories of Christians being persecuted and martyred for their faith have always captured my attention since I was young. More than ever before, these stories stand out to me. Stories of daring faith, courage, compassion, trust, steadfastness, and utter dependency on the LORD.When I think of Christians dying for their faith, I usually think of the martyrs from the start of the church. Those disciples and apostles who gave up everything to take up their cross and follow Jesus and make His name known through all the world. I think of the stories I’ve read from Foxe’s Book of Martyrs—stories of incredible devotion to Jesus. I think of the Roman world with gladiator games where they would publicly kill and have wild animals gore Christians for entertainment.I imagine something from long ago.Do you know there are Christians being killed today? Do you know that there are Christians in labor camps where they are starved and can never be freed? Do you know that in one single country, about 35 of our brothers and sisters in Christ are killed a day? Do you know that hundreds of churches are looted, burned, and destroyed? Do you know about Christian women and young children being kidnapped, abused, and trafficked? Do you know that Christians are being tortured for Christ right now?I didn’t know. Now I do, and I can’t unsee what I have seen. I cannot unhear what I have heard. I know the truth. I know what my brothers and sisters in Christ are doing for Christ. This is happening all around the world. What can I do? I am only one person. I am only a young woman. What can I do?What can you do? This question I have heard others ask. I have asked this. What can I do? What can I pray for? Does it even matter?Yes, it does matter. Prayer matters. Not because of anything YOU can do but because of who we serve and pray to. Our God is the God of the impossible. He is able to do miracles.Jesus healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, multiplied food, and taught how to follow God and live a life of godliness following His example.Sometimes we have no words to pray. That is when it is important to be praying with the Holy Spirit.“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” —Romans 8:26-27So the Spirit intercedes on our behalf with groaning too deep for words. The Holy Spirit prays according to the will of God. There is comfort in this.We don’t need to know what to pray for.We just need to pray, and God will do the rest.“Be still, and know that I am God.I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth!”—Psalm 46:10+Were you blessed by today's episode? No matter how many times you fall and mess up, get back up and go to God (The 10 commandments part 2)

No matter how many times you fall and mess up, get back up and go to God.Jesus cares about your heart. He is after the heart issue, not just the external. To have a heart after God, we need to continually go to Him. Go to God with repentance. Ask for forgiveness. No matter how many times you fall and mess up, get back up and go to God.+In last week’s episode we talked about the first half of the Ten Commandments which are mainly about how we love God. In this episode we are going to be reading the second half of the Ten Commandments which are mainly about loving others. The commandments teach us two very important things. The most important things as Jesus tells us.“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”—Matthew 22:36-40All of the commandments are boiled down into these two things. Loving God and loving others. This is exactly what we are going to be talking about today! So grab your bible and a cup of coffee or tea and let’s read the Bible together!Listen to part 1 of the 10 Commandments here: https://theotherworldpodcast.substack.com/p/how-do-we-love-god-the-10-commandments+Were you blessed by today's episode? How do we love God? (The 10 Commandments part 1)

I think this is important for us to know the commands of God.God knows us and He made us. He knows what is best for us and others. He knows how we work and what is important for us to do and to not do. So God gave us these rules or commands to live by—not because He wants to control us to not let us have any fun but because He loves and cares for us.He is our good Father after all.Think of it like this. As a child there was a rule in our home that if I went outside to play that I could not go out into the street. If I did then I know I would get in trouble and even punished. Their rule was there not because my parents didn’t want me to have fun playing. It was a rule made out of love.Cars are fast and oftentimes would not notice a small child running through the street to save her ball. I could get hurt or worse. My parents, who love me, made this rule to protect me.God is the same.God loves us and wants to protect us—His children. God in His goodness and mercy made these rules to do just that = protect us.More than just that, the commandments teach us two very important things. Really they are the most important things as Jesus tells us.“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” —Matthew 22:36-40All of the commandments are boiled down into these two things. Loving God and loving others. In this episode we are going to be learning about the first half of the 10 Commandments which is all about how we love God!🍂 Episode on Yahweh: https://theotherworldpodcast.substack.com/p/yahweh-the-one-true-god+Were you blessed by today's episode? Persecuted Christians around the world + a prayer for BOLDNESS

This is a bit of an unplanned episode but I need to share this message with you. Usually I’m not one to talk about the news or things like that. But I think this is important. The past few weeks have been really heavy in our world. There have been school shootings with young children being killed. A young woman was brutally killed on a bus. Charlie Kirk who was a husband, father, and most importantly a Christian was assassinated and martyred.Death and destruction has been growing. This is just some of the tragic news happening in America right now. This is happening everywhere. All around the world people are dying, starving, facing loss, unspeakable pain, and suffering. Our world is broken.People are broken. There is hope and His name is Jesus.+Are you ready to meet Jesus? Our lives are so short in light of eternity. Our life is merely a breath, like a flower that springs up only to wither in the sun.We don’t know when we will die. We don’t know if we will have tomorrow. We don’t know when we will meet our maker.Tomorrow is not promised. Are you ready to die? Do you know where you will go? Are you right with Jesus? As a Christian—a believer in Jesus and the Bible—I believe there is only one way to salvation, to be with our Heavenly Father and go to heaven, and that is by believing in Jesus Christ. He is the only way. All other options, all other roads, and all other things lead you away from Jesus and ultimately will lead you to hell. This is what I believe.I urge you, if you do not know Jesus, to follow Him! Believe in Jesus, repent from your sins, and be saved!Tomorrow is not promised.Be saved today!“if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” —Romans 10:9-13Have hope.“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.“ —Philippians 1:21Death is only the door to be with Jesus Christ. Death (even though it can be sad, scary, and painful) is the door home. Earth is not our home. Our home is with Jesus.“All death can do to the believer is deliver him to Jesus.” -Charlie Kirk+Resources for learning about persecuted Christians:* Global Christian relief: https://globalchristianrelief.org/resources/red-list/* Voice of the Martyrs: https://www.persecution.com/globalprayerguide/?_source_code=WHPB20C* Open doors: https://www.opendoors.org/en-US/persecution/countries/#:~:text=More%20than%20380m%20Christians%20suffer,More%20options* Radical:https://radical.net* Documentary on North Korea and Christians: https://radical.net/video/hard-to-reach-north-korea/+Were you blessed by today's episode? Yahweh | the one true God

Yahweh | the I AM (the one true God) Definition: I AM, Lord, Jehovah, Lord GodPronunciation: yah-wehIn the Bible: Yahweh is written in the Old Testament where it is mentioned 6,519 times. This name is used more than any other in the Bible for God. When you see “LORD” written in all caps then that is Yahweh. Yahweh is first found in Genesis 2:4.This is the name of God.God introduces himself as Yahweh—the I AM—first in Genesis then in Exodus where we will be studying today.Knowing God as Yahweh is knowing He is the only one. The one true God. The beginning and the end. All powerful. All mighty. Able to do miracles in our lives.Yahweh is the one who frees us from bondage—through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Yahweh is the promise maker and keeper. He keeps His promises to His people. He avenges His people as we will see again in Revelation at the end of the world as we know it and in the everlasting reign of the King!Yahweh is the one who leads us. He is the way maker. Our light in the darkness. I recommend listening to the song “Way Maker.” It is a beautiful song and really captures this attribute of who God is.Actually, I’m going to link a Spotify playlist in the description of this episode with some songs that really help us know these names of God and His character. These are songs I’ve listened to while studying this series or just songs I love that show God’ character. Hopefully this is fun and you like listening. The Names of God Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7riQQhSoUI3G08I09nml79 +Were you blessed by today's episode? El Roi | you are seen by God

El Roi | God who seesDefinition: The God Who Sees, God Who Sees MePronunciation: el ruh-eeIn the Bible: El Roi is written in the Old Testament where it is mentioned one time. El Roi is found in Genesis 16:13.El Roi.The God Who Sees Me.So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God of seeing,” for she said, “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.” -Genesis 16:13Knowing God as El Roi shows us that He sees us. El Roi, the God who sees me. He sees my pain, my struggles, my fears, my hopes, my everything. He sees and knows. He is able to come alongside us and be our comforter. He knows us and sees us and cares for us. He is our provider. He takes care of us.We do not have to fear or worry because God sees. He knows. Even if we do fear, we know that we can go to Him and cry out to Him. Hagar wept and the Lord heard. Ishmael cried and God answered. We can cry and go to El Roi with our emotions and all that lays heavy on our hearts.“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30We can go to God with confidence knowing He sees. He knows every hair on our head (Luke 12:7). He knows when we sit and rise and wherever we go (Psalm 139). He knows our sorrows and tears.“You have kept count of my tossings;put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?”-Psalm 56:8God knows us and sees us. We can have full confidence going to God knowing He sees. He sees me. He sees you. What a blessing!+Were you blessed by today's episode? Is your relationship with God real or for show?

Is your relationship with God for show or for real?At the start I want to say that this is not me wanting to judge you or others. This is something I’ve felt convicted about. At the end of the day what is important is that you are having a real relationship with God. That is what I want to talk about. So on social media (and other places) but specifically on socials, I see a lot of “influencer Christian content creators”.I don’t think there is anything wrong with being a content creator who makes Christian content. I think it is so amazing when people are BOLD in sharing their faith. It is encouraging and inspiring! I love when people can show the LIGHT of Christ wherever they go.The problem I have, where I feel convicted, is if my faith is genuine so when I talk it comes from an overflow of knowing God and loving Him. Or is it for show. Do I actually love and want a relationship with God or do I like being seen as the “Christian girl”. Do I actually love studying God’s word or do I like the “Christian bible study girl aesthetic”? It is for likes and others or is it out of the overflow of the heart in being with God?I want my faith to be real. I want my relationship with God to come first. I don’t want Him to become my “content” but my life. Not the thing I do to get likes or views but my life is centered around God. I don’t want the aesthetic, I want the real thing. I want a real relationship.I want my faith and my relationship with Jesus to be real and not for show.“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” —Matthew 6:6-8Will you spend time with Him today? Will you make your relationship with God the priority in your life?I encourage you to find time everyday to be in God’s word and spend time with Him! You can do this whenever you have time or if you don’t have time then you may have to say “no” to things to say “yes” to God. You can read your physical Bible or you can listen on audio to hear God’s word while you are cleaning or doing other things. I encourage you to make time to be with God every day. This is a daily choice. Each day you get to decide what you do. I hope your faith is real. I hope your faith is genuine. I pray that you know God in an intimate and real way. I pray that God meets with you and speaks with you. I pray that you will fall in love with God and put Him first. I pray that your faith is not for show or for other people’s approval or because you think it is the good or right thing to do.I pray your faith is real!C.S. Lewis once said: “I want God. Not my idea of God.”This is my prayer and hope for all of us.+Were you blessed by today's episode? Elohim: The strong creatorWe meet God as Elohim at the very beginning of the Bible—at the creation of the world. This is the first name we know Him by. How to fight with the Armor of God

Today I am very excited because we are going to be reading about the spiritual battle we face as Christians as well as how to defend yourself and fight back against the enemy with the armor of God.I love learning about the Armor of God, so much so that I am currently working on writing a children's book series that is in part inspired by the armor. This year in particular with writing these books and with things happening in my personal life, I have felt like God has put it on my heart to not just study the armor of God but to learn how to use it and train with each piece of armor.I am going to try and keep this not too long as it is a topic I really love and have been studying. I want to keep to the point as well as finish up the Ephesians Bible study with you! This truly has been such a blessing in my life to read the Bible each week with you. I am so excited to see what all happens next! God has been so good and has done so much with this podcast. I am so grateful! So let’s grab our bibles (I'm using an ESV Bible), grab a cup of coffee or tea and let’s read the Bible together!Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,—Ephesians 6:14-18This is our armor. This is what we need to put on to withstand evil and stand firm.+Were you blessed by today's episode? We need to obey and follow Jesus FIRST

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 6:1-9!We are going to be talking about children & parents and servants & masters. This is another episode on biblical roles and submissions like our previous episode on marriage. As Christians we need to be willing to follow Jesus above all others. To follow Jesus even if it is hard. To follow Jesus even if our family and friends reject us. We need to follow Jesus FIRST.Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.—Colossians 3:23-24Above all others we serve God. When we serve our earthly masters (as well as our parents) we do it as unto God.+Were you blessed by today's episode? What does a God honoring marriage look like?

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 5:22-33!We are going to be talking about what it looks like to have a godly god honoring marriage. We are going to be reading how God wants us to act towards each other in marriage and how marriage is set up.I think this is so important for all of us to know. If you are married then this is important for you to know this and walk in this currently. If you are not married then this is still important for you if you desire to be married and this is a dream and prayer of yours. This is going to be good for you to know to start working on the things we are called to do right now and using this time of singleness to prepare yourself for marriage and to be ready and secure in the Lord and what He is calling you to.This can apply to all of us. If you are married this applies to you RIGHT NOW. If you are single this applies to you in the FUTURE if marriage is your desire. If you are someone who believes they are called into a life of singleness then there are still things that can apply to you—even just how to have your life be a reflection of Jesus and His love for us because that is simply what marriage is.Yes there is more to marriage and can be complex but the simple truth of marriage, how God designed it, is an example to us of God’s love for us and of Christ and the church. So let’s read what the Bible says!+Were you blessed by today's episode? Does it matter who I am friends with as a Christian?

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. I challenge you to read the Bible everyday! I hope you take on the challenge to read the Bible and know God’s word for yourself!Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 5:1-21!Does it matter who I am friends with?“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them;” —Ephesians 5:6-7It is important that we are not partners with the sons of disobedience—basically anyone who does not follow and obey Jesus. Don’t let them influence your life. Don’t be friends with them. Don’t follow them. Maybe this sounds harsh but it is important. The people you surround yourself with, the people you follow, the friends you have will change you. Good or bad they will influence you to be more like them. There is this saying that you are the 5 or 10 people you are friends with or are around. If the people you are around truly love Jesus and are reading the Bible and are running after the call God has on their lives then that will influence you and help you run after God.If you are friends with ungodly people whether they say they are Christian’s or not, if they are not obeying God’s word and do not hold it as holy or they like sinning then that will influence you in their ways. Like this friend of mine lies all the time so maybe it’s not that bad. They may even say they are Christian so…maybe it’s okay? Maybe I can lie. NO. No no no.What does the Bible say? The Bible needs to be our source of truth and the foundation we build our lives upon. We need to live by every word of God. Not the opinion of man.Be careful who you follow. Be careful who you are friends with. It really does matter.+Were you blessed by today's episode? We should look different from the world

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. I challenge you to read the Bible everyday! I hope you take on the challenge to read the Bible and know God’s word for yourself!Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 4:17-32. We are picking up from last week and finishing this chapter! We are made in the image of God.Now in Jesus we can put on the new self in Jesus to be created more in the likeness of God in His character—in true righteousness and holiness. As such we need to discard, to put away, to cast aside our old worldly selves and ways and be renewed and be made new in Christ. To live in a way that reflects God and His characters. To look like His children—like sons and daughters of God.Romans 12:2 says: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”No longer can we hold on to sin. No longer can we walk in darkness or greed or sextual sin or any sin. All sin is wrong and evil. All sin is worldly. When we sin, when we let our flesh (or sinful desires) control our lives and guide us then we will look like our sin. We will look like the world. We will be conformed to this world.Instead we need to be transformed by Jesus into His likeness. To be transformed by the renewal of our minds. How do we do this? Join me on this episode as we read the Bible together and learn what it means to not look like the world and instead look like Jesus!+Catch up on the first part of this chapter: https://theotherworldpodcast.substack.com/p/how-to-not-be-deceived-by-false-teaching+Were you blessed by today's episode? How to not be deceived by false teaching? + the Bible reading challenge

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 4:1-16. There are so many good things in this chapter and as such we are going to be reading half today and the last half next week!We want to be mature Christian’s. To learn and grow up in our faith. To dig deeper into God’s word and to no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. We want to be grounded and mature in our faith so that we are not deceived by the world, by false teaching, by false teaching even in the church by pastors. We are warned of this in scripture. Jesus himself tell us in Matthew 7:15 to…”Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”How we don’t get deceived is by knowing the Word of God and being grounded and mature in our faith. How do we grow in our faith? How can we become steady and grounded in our faith? It is by READING THE BIBLE!I challenge you for the next month to read the Bible everyday! Dig deep into God’s Word. Know what He says. Know His character and what He thinks. I challenge you to get to know God.Will you take on the challenge?+Were you blessed by today's episode? Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 3.When you are weak, will you let God be your strength? But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.—2 Corinthians 12:9-10In our weakness God is strong.in our suffering we can either point to ourselves (how lowly we are, how we suffer, how nothing goes right), to others and blame others for our problems, OR to God. Will you give God glory and honor while you suffer? Will people be able to see His strength in you?It is not by your power but God’s.Can we suffer for God?I know this is not an easy thing. I don’t like suffering. The past few weeks I’ve been going through some things in my personal life—feeling loss and struggling—and it is easy for me to complain. It is easy for me to feel bad about myself. This is not to say we can’t feel sadness or loss or anger even as God made us and He made our emotions. But are we going to God. When we are weak will we run to Him? Will we still praise Him even in the midst of struggles and hardship? This is something I am still learning. This is more me telling this to myself—but I also encourage you to go to God. With your fears and struggles, go to Him. Let Him be your strength. Your rock and strong tower.+Were you blessed by today's episode? I would be SO SO SO grateful if you would let me know by leaving a review or connecting with me on my substack. Salvation is a gift. You don’t have to work for it.

Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 2.For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.—Ephesians 2:8-9Read this again. “For by Grace you have been saved through Faith.” This faith is believing in Jesus Christ and having Him LORD over our lives. We can’t “work” our way into heaven or to being saved. We can’t be a “good person” to be saved.because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.—Romans 10:9-10It is only through Jesus that we can be saved. So can we work our way to salvation?Let’s grab our bibles and read the Word together and find out!+Were you blessed by today's episode? Adopted as children of God

You are adopted by God!Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. Today we are going to be reading through chapter 1 of Ephesians. In Jesus we are adopted as children of God. What a gift! I have a heart for adoption and for children. My dream is to one day be able to adopt. I love any time adoption is brought up in the Bible. Especially how it relates to us as Christians—as children of God. Adopted through Jesus.“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God…”—Romans 8:15-16So grab your bible (or you can just listen to me read this chapter out—i'm using an ESV Bible), maybe grab a cup of coffee or tea and let’s read the Bible together!+Were you blessed by today's episode? Sharing the gospel in a respectful way

In this week’s episode we are starting a Bible study together on the book of Ephesians! I’m so excited to read the Bible with you and grow in our faith together.Today we are going to be reading Acts chapter 19 and see how the gospel was shared in Ephesus where this letter was written to (as some background to this book). We are going to see how Paul ministered to the people, how their hearts were turned to Jesus, and how to share the gospel in a respectful way even when adversaries come against you.So grab your Bible, a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s read the Bible together!“So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.” —Acts 19:20 (ESV)+Were you blessed by today's episode? When you are struggling to believe… Sharing My Testimony

Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.—John 21:25This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible! How I wish to read these stories! Isn’t it amazing the thought of the world not being able to contain all that Jesus did?Think of all the good Jesus has done for you and in your life. All the times He was there for you, the answered prayers, the miracles, His presence, His peace, the sleepless nights spent praying to Him, everything in your life. Can you write down all that God has done for you? There is so much Jesus has done for me. I do not have the words to write it all down. There are moments in my life where the memories are hot and fresh. Memories burning like bright lights in a sea of stories. Moments in my life I know I will never forget. Maybe you have these memories too.
