    40. Clayton Law - Adult ADHD and Avoidance: Why Important Tasks Feel Impossible

Adult ADHD and procrastination can look a lot like laziness from the outside. But for a lot of high-achievers, entrepreneurs, parents, veterans, and first responders, it’s usually more complicated than that.In this episode, I sit down with my friend and former mentor Clayton Law to talk through his recent ADHD journey, and why so much of it hit uncomfortably close to home for me.We get into the stuff most people don’t want to admit: avoiding the work that would actually move you forward, relying on deadline panic, scrolling instead of executing, wondering if it’s a character flaw, and feeling shame because you “know what to do” but still can’t make yourself do it.Clayton breaks down what changed for him after getting support, experimenting with medication, working with an ADHD coach, and building a routine around how his brain actually works. This is not medical advice. It’s an honest conversation about attention, avoidance, business, family, and learning to stop fighting your own brain. What we cover: Why high-achievers can miss ADHD for years  Procrastination as an adrenaline strategy  Why open schedules can wreck productivity  Phone addiction, shame, and avoidance loops  Medication, coaching, and routine without the magic-pill fantasy  Why exercise, lunch, and sleep matter more than we want to admit  How to make hard tasks smaller, clearer, and less scary  Adult ADHD and procrastination in business, parenting, and real life The big takeaway: you might not need another strategy. You might need a better system for actually doing the thing.Connect with Clayton:instagram.com/clayton.movesMake Moves PodcastMake Moves CoachingThe contents of this episode are for educational & entertainment purposes only and are not medical, legal, or mental-health advice. 39. Parenting Made Me See My Own Programming

This episode is about parenting, affirmations, the stories we tell ourselves, and how the messages we hear over and over become the water we’re swimming in. Most of us have beliefs we never chose. We just absorbed them from our parents, our jobs, our relationships, or whatever environment shaped us.You see, I made my daughter cry the other day.Not in some dramatic, horrible way. But in a way that made me realize I had been accidentally teaching her something almost every day of her life. We’re in the middle of weaning her from breastfeeding. She calls it “chichi,” and we’ve been telling her that she’s a big girl now. She has teeth. She can eat food. The chichi magic has to go back to the moon so another little baby can use it.Pretty cute, honestly.Except she started pushing back by telling us she’s not a big girl. She’s a little baby. No teeth. Needs milk. And then it hit me.For two and a half years, I’ve been picking her up, snuggling her, and calling her “Daddy’s little baby girl.”Every day.So here I am telling her she’s a big girl, while I’ve been affirming the opposite her entire life. That wrecked me a little bit.Maybe you’re not walking around saying you’re a baby with no teeth. But you might be telling yourself you’ll always be anxious. Or broken. Or that good things never last. Or that healing works for other people, but not for you.And until you notice the story, you can’t change it.Thanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    38. Zappy Zapolin - The Future Of Psychedelic Integration

In this episode I sit down with Zappy Zapolin for a conversation on psychedelic integration, ayahuasca, ketamine, surrender, ego, and what happens when someone builds the career, makes the money, checks all the boxes, and still ends up feeling empty.Zappy is one of the bigger names in this space, and honestly, we went into this one a little skeptical. That didn’t last long.We talk about his path from Wall Street and internet entrepreneurship into the psychedelic world, the spiritual crisis that pushed him inward, and the ayahuasca experience that changed how he sees control, identity, and life itself. We also get into ketamine, mushrooms, present-moment awareness, and why insight by itself doesn’t mean much if you never actually integrate it. We talk about the future of psychedelic therapy, the rise in demand for real training, and why there are too many people right now trying to guide others with no business doing it.What we cover: Zappy Zapolin’s path from finance to psychedelics  Ayahuasca, ketamine, and psychedelic integration  Ego, surrender, and present-moment awareness  Why success can still leave you empty  The need for real training in psychedelic therapy and integration  Psychedelic Concierge and the future of this space👉 Zappy on Instagram👉 The Psychedelic Concierge & Certification👉 The Reality Of Truth DocumentaryThanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    37. Jeremy Hudec - PTSD, Identity Loss, and Purpose After RCMP

First responder PTSD doesn’t always look dramatic. Very often it's bad sleep, isolation, snapping at the people you love, and the feeling that something is wrong even when you can’t explain it.In this episode, I sit down with former RCMP officer and founder of Project Life Spark Jeremy Hudec. We talk about what years of frontline policing really did to his mind, body, family, and sense of identity. Jeremy shares how burnout, trauma exposure, lack of support, and institutional betrayal built up over time ... and how things eventually spiraled into depression, suicidal thoughts, disconnection at home, and the belief that this was just how life was going to feel forever. We also get into what changed after he found a different path, how he started making sense of the guilt and pain he carried for years, and why he came home with a renewed sense of purpose. That purpose eventually became Project Life Spark, a nonprofit working to help Canadian veterans and first responders access deeper healing and real support.Connect With Jeremy:Project Life Spark: https://www.projectlifespark.orgInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/projectlifespark/👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration? 35. Kat Courtney from Plant Medicine People - A Deep Dive On Ayahuasca, Dietas & Ibogaine

I am joined by Kat Courtney, founder of "Plant Medicine People" and this is a special one. Not just because Kat is one of the few people we follow in the Plant Medicine space and have a huge amount of respect and admiration for, but also because this conversation took us deep. Kat is a true modern Plant Medicine pioneer with over 2 decades of indigenous training and ceremony experience. She’s the author of Plant Medicine Mystery School Vol 1: The Superhero Healing Powers of Psychotropic Plants, and a traditionally trained Ayahuasquera and Huachumera. Kat is the CEO and Co-Founder of Plant Medicine People, as well as the Co-Founder and Head of Integration for Bassé Ibogaine Clinic. We get into master plant dietas, ayahuasca, ibogaine, trauma, nervous system healing, spiritual protection, and what it actually takes to change after a big medicine experience.  We go deeper into identity, suffering, discipline, shadow work, and the gap between having a profound experience and actually building a different life afterward.Kat shares how she first found ayahuasca in the middle of serious personal struggle, how that path evolved into years of work with dietas and plant teachers, and why she sees these medicines as a way to challenge the stories we carry about ourselves. We also break down what a dieta actually is, how social dietas work, and why distraction may be one of the biggest barriers to healing in modern life.Later in the episode, we talk about Kat’s arrest in an ayahuasca-related case, what that experience showed her about injustice, and why integration became even more important after the legal fallout. We also get into ibogaine, what makes it different from ayahuasca, why it can be such a powerful tool for nervous system reset, and why no medicine does the work for you.Connect with Kat: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/plantmedicinepeople/ Plant Medicine People: https://plantmedicinepeople.com/ BASSE Ibogaine: https://basseibogaine.com/👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration? 34. Scott Oikle - The Last Rotation: War Diaries, Moral Weight, and the Two-Year Therapy That Saved His Career

A lot of people think PTSD looks like bar fights, back-against-the-wall paranoia, punching holes in drywall. Sometimes it does. But a lot of the time it’s quieter and sneakier; like walking your kids downtown and realizing your body is still in Afghanistan. In this episode I sit down with Major Scott Oikle, a Canadian Armed Forces officer who deployed to Kandahar Airfield during Afghanistan. Scott ran base operations and was deeply involved in the dignity-heavy work around ramp ceremonies (yes, those moments when fallen service members are honored on the airfield before being flown home). We talk about what that does to a person … the helplessness, the constant threat (rockets, attacks, chaos), and the moral weight of being “a cog in the wheel” of combat decisions. Then we get into the part that matters: Scott didn’t push through it. A flight surgeon flagged him, he told the truth, he went to the Operational Stress Injury (OSI) clinic, did two years of intensive therapy, stayed medicated, and rebuilt his life without losing his identity or his future. And now he’s doing the thing we all need more of: healing out loud so other people don’t suffer in silence.➡️ Connect with Scott: Follow Scott on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the_last_rotation/Buy "The Last Rotation": https://www.amazon.ca/Last-Rotation-Afghanistan-War-Diary/dp/1069310808/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?sr=8-1Listen to "The Last Rotation" on Audible: https://www.audible.com/?ref=Adbl_ip_rdr_from_CA&source_code=AUDORBN1011179LRQ&ipRedirectFrom=CA&ipRedirectOriginalURL=author%2FScott-Oikle%2FB0F1F3PRLH👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration? 33. The Missing Piece in PTSD Healing: Someone Who Actually Gives a Shit

You don’t need another therapist who nods, takes notes, and sends you home with “coping skills” while your nervous system is still on fire. You don’t need another corporate “healing experience” that treats you like a chart number. What most people with PTSD/CPTSD actually need first? Someone who genuinely gives a shit ... and a community that proves it.In this episode, I tell the story of a retired Navy corpsman who joined our program almost on an impulse… and immediately braced for regret because that’s his pattern. But a week into “negative one,” he said something that hit me hard: the reason he took the leap was simple: he felt like we actually cared. Not in a cheesy “Olive Garden” way (please don’t sue me), but in the real way: family-run, direct, human, and built around listening deeply so people can start asking better questions of themselves. That’s the difference between “treatment” and transformation.I also share a moment from one of our Operation Flow State retreats where a guy who’d literally argued with his therapist that joy isn’t real watched me playing with my daughter and realized: “Oh… joy exists. I just can’t access it yet.” That’s the work: reconnection to yourself, to people, to meaning, to joy.If you’re tired of being treated like another patient and you’re ready for real trauma healing + integration support (PTSD, CPTSD, depression, anxiety, veterans/first responders), reach out.Visit becomingom.org or DM INTERESTED to @becoming.om.MICRODOSING FUNDAMENTALS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/microdosing-101ALTERNATIVE HEALING FOR VETERANS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/healing-briefingThanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    32. Ryan Carey - Why Veterans Get Misread + How Plant Medicine & Integration Actually Help

Most people don’t have a “drinking problem” or an “anger problem.” They’ve got a coping solution… and it’s the only one they’ve got. And when you rip that away without building anything better? Then you just made life harder and called it “healing.”In this episode, I sit down with my friend Ryan Carey; former pro football player (CFL), Canadian military veteran, and a guy who’s been deep in the weeds of brain injury, PTSD, and plant medicine work. We talk about why the medicine rarely starts where you think it will (hint: it’s usually family, grief, and shame first), why “the body keeps the score” is cliché because it’s true, and why integration isn’t some cute add-on but the whole damn point. We also get into TBI/CTE realities (sports, blast exposure, concussions), the trap of “journey-chasing,” and why learning to sit in silence can be harder than a cold plunge… and also more life-changing.If you’re a veteran, first responder, or just a human trying to stop white-knuckling your way through life: this one’s for youCheck out everything that Ryan does here:https://www.instagram.com/emergent_savage/👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration? Visit becomingom.org or DM “INTERESTED” to @becoming.omMICRODOSING FUNDAMENTALS:go.becomingom.org/resources/microdosing-101ALTERNATIVE HEALING FOR VETERANS:go.becomingom.org/resources/healing-briefing.Thanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    31. Healing PTSD in a Relationship: Why Your Partner Has to Be In the Loop

“Hey honey… I met a stranger online and I’m gonna pay them lots of money to help me learn about drugs.” If that’s how you’re planning to tell your spouse you’re exploring plant medicine for PTSD/CPTSD, please don’t. In this episode, I talk about the real make-or-break factor in healing while you’re in a relationship: your partner doesn’t have to do psychedelics… but they DO need to be aware, supportive, and not actively sabotaging the process.I share what I’ve seen over the last couple of weeks talking with spouses of people joining our program and why I actually prefer speaking to your husband/wife/partner before you commit, and what can go sideways when you don’t. We get into the “crabs in a bucket” dynamic, the difference between skepticism vs. sabotage, and why bringing your partner into the conversation often leads to better outcomes, especially when you’re working through trauma, anxiety, depression, moral injury, brain fog, and integration after psychedelics. I also share a few real stories of couples who went from “support role” to “holy shit, I want this too.”👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration? 30. Dr. Eugene Lipov - The “God Shot”: Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) for PTSD / PTSI

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Eugene Lipov (the doc who pioneered using Stellate Ganglion Block for trauma) to talk about a wildly practical idea: what if we can turn the alarm system down so healing actually becomes possible? We get into the science without pretending the human part isn’t real: amygdala overload, norepinephrine, why “placebo” is a messy word for procedures like SGB, and why Dr. Lipov believes we should call it PTSI (post-traumatic stress injury), not a “disorder.” We also talk integration, because even if you get a reset, you still have to clean up the “fish tank”: habits, relationships, meaning, and the choices that keep you well. We also touch psychedelics (psilocybin, ibogaine, ayahuasca), the default mode network, and why the goal isn’t to delete emotion but to get your emotional system working again.Learn more about Dr. Eugene Lipov & his work:• Dr. Lipov official site: https://dreugenelipov.com/• Stella Mental Health (SGB/DSR info + locations): https://stellamentalhealth.com/eugene-lipov-md• The God Shot (book): https://thegodshotbook.com/👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration? 29. How to Make Mushroom/Ibogaine/Ayahuasca Insights Actually Change Your Life

In this episode of the Plant Medicine for PTSD podcast, I’m explaining what I mean when I say integration ... because I talk about integration basically every single time I talk, and it’s worth taking a minute to define it in plain language. Integration is gonna be a bit anticlimactic because it looks different for each person, but the core idea is simple: clean your fish tank.I use the sick goldfish analogy: you can take the fish to the vet and give it medicine ...just like you can take yourself out of your home environment, fly to Tijuana or Costa Rica or Peru, and go do a retreat with mushrooms, ibogaine, ayahuasca, LSD, mescaline, whatever. But if you bring the treated goldfish home and plop it right back into its dirty-ass tank that made it sick in the first place, what do you think happens? That’s what it looks like when you come home from plant medicine and do absolutely nothing different. Integration is changing your lifestyle, environment, relationships, communication, thinking, and habits so the healing actually sticks. We get practical: habit change is less about discipline and more about re-engineering your environment: where’s your phone in the morning, app blockers, journal front and center, setting yourself up to win. We also talk about your social environment (friend group, community, who you’re becoming around), and your “spiritual/emotional diet”...what you’re watching, scrolling, listening to, and how often inner peace comes from what you cut out more than what you add in. And then the question that matters: what does the healed version of you do every day… and can you start doing that today?Want support with real plant medicine / psychedelic integration (PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, depression)? 28. John Davis - Escaping the U.S. Stress Machine: A Veteran’s Guide to Living Abroad

What if your anxiety isn’t just you … it’s your environment? In this episode of “The Plant Medicine For PTSD Podcast”, I sat down with John Davis; an army combat veteran, Harvard graduate and writer who has lived across Thailand and Latin America. We talk about expat life as a mental health intervention. About the freedom of being outside the U.S. stress machine, the cost-of-living pressure that crushes people, and why veterans often need non-traditional healing (community, purpose, nature, scuba, and plant medicine + integration). We also keep it real about the pitfalls: isolation, easy access to unhealthy habits, and why “just moving” isn’t a magic wand unless you build structure and connection.Want John’s free vets guide + resources? 27. Plant Medicine Made Me A Better Dad

Using plant medicine, using psychedelics, makes you a better parent. In this episode of the Plant Medicine for PTSD podcast, I walk through six reasons why I truly believe psychedelics (and especially a Mindful Microdosing process) can make you a better dad or mom. We talk about the sacred pause—that space between stimulus and response—so you’re not just stumbling from one knee-jerk reaction to the next. We get into shadow work, unpacking your own childhood stuff so your kid isn’t constantly triggering the parts of you that never got taken care of. And we talk about presence, because it goes by so fast, and every moment you’re not there, you don’t get that back.I also share what’s basically been my cheat code for disarming toddler meltdowns (and honestly, adult ones too)/When your kid feels understood ... what they want, and how it feels to not get it ...it takes a massive amount of fuel out of the tantrum. And all of this ties together: the pause, the presence, the surrender, regulating yourself first… so you can actually be the calm in the storm. If you haven’t already, hit subscribe, leave a rating/review—do it for the people who need to hear this.👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration? Visit becomingom.org or DM “INTERESTED” to @becoming.omMICRODOSING FUNDAMENTALS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/microdosing-101ALTERNATIVE HEALING FOR VETERANS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/healing-briefingThanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    26. David Romero - Sound Healing + Trauma Recovery: A Veteran’s Path into Psychedelic Coaching

In this episode, I’m joined by David Romero — retired U.S. Air Force Captain, lifelong musician, yoga philosophy nerd (the real kind, not the “mediocre calisthenics” kind), and a psychedelic integration + health & wellness coach. We go deep on sound healing (voice, breath, vibration, instruments, and why your nervous system responds), yoga beyond the stretches (Ahimsa, Satya, the eight limbs), microdosing as a “life-as-ceremony” practice, and why gut health / autoimmune patterns so often track back to stress, conditioning, and unprocessed emotion. Also: harmoniums, flutes, didgeridoos, and how you end up with 200 instruments in your house like it’s totally normal. If you’re navigating PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, or you’re a veteran/first responder trying to rebuild trust in your body and your life … this conversation is a must listen➡️ Connect with David Romerohttps://www.psychedelicstransdiagnostictherapeutics.com/david-romeroInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/hello.davidromero/➡️ Connect with us https://becomingom.orgInstagram: https://instagram.com/becoming.omIf you haven’t already, hit subscribe, leave a rating/review—do it for the people who need to hear this.👉 Want support with Mindful Microdosing + integration?

    25. “My Wife Found Her Husband Again” : 4 Days Microdosing for PTSD

“I finally found my husband again… after seven years.” That’s what the wife of an RCMP officer told him after just four days of microdosing. And if you know PTSD, you know how insane that is to hear. In this episode, I’m fresh off our Monday night men’s rectangle (because most men’s groups are fucking lame). One of our guys, a Canadian police officer off work with severe PTSD, finally started working with the medicine after delays, and the shift started fast. He said it felt like someone turned down the chatter in his head so he could focus on one task… and actually be present with his kids. If you’re dealing with PTSD / CPTSD, anxiety, depression, trauma, or you’re trying to figure out psychedelic integration and whether microdosing could support your healing, we’ve built a real structure for it... habits, intention, journaling, community, and accountability. Check out our free resources below, or visit us at becomingom.orgMICRODOSING FUNDAMENTALS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/microdosing-101ALTERNATIVE HEALING FOR VETERANS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/healing-briefingThanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    24. Journey Less. Integrate More

Retreats are sexy. Integration is not. And that’s exactly why most people keep chasing ceremonies, five-gram mushroom trips, and “one more breakthrough”… while their real life stays the same (or gets worse). Psychedelics can show you what’s out of alignment, but they don’t magically bring it into alignment. If you don’t change your day-to-day, the medicine just hands you a bigger gap between who you are and who you know you could be.In this episode, I break down what psychedelic integration actually means (and why it’s the whole game). It’s the unsexy part: ownership, boundaries, choosing your highest self when it’s inconvenient, taking care of your body, cutting the bullshit distractions, and living as the person the medicine introduced you to. Because psychedelics can plant the feeling (self-love, gratitude, peace) but you still have to embody it. Otherwise you come home from the retreat and feel more confused, more depressed, and more hopeless than before. I’ve been there. If you’re working with plant medicine, psychedelics, microdosing, MDMA therapy, ayahuasca, ibogaine, or you’re healing PTSD/CPTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety ... this is the part that determines whether your experience becomes real change or just another story you tell.Check out our free resources below, or visit us at becomingom.orgMICRODOSING FUNDAMENTALS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/microdosing-101ALTERNATIVE HEALING FOR VETERANS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/healing-briefingThanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    23. 4 Lies You’ve Been Told About Psychedelics

In this episode, I break down what we mean when we say medicine (not just “drugs”), who this work is for, and why jumping straight into a massive dose or booking an ayahuasca/ibogaine retreat with zero preparation can be a terrible idea for most people. If you’ve had a bad trip, if you’re sober and conflicted, if you’re a veteran or first responder carrying PTSD, or if you’re just a normal human who’s been through some shit and wants more peace, presence, and connection - this conversation is for you. We also talk safety (including important mental health contraindications), set/setting, and why microdosing + mindfulness can be the foundation that changes everything. If you’re ready to explore this the right way ...with structure, intention, and real integration... check out our work and resources. Check out our free resources below, or visit us at becomingom.orgMICRODOSING FUNDAMENTALS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/microdosing-101ALTERNATIVE HEALING FOR VETERANS:https://go.becomingom.org/resources/healing-briefingAnd if you know someone who needs this message, share it ... seriously, it might be the nudge that keeps them here. Thanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    21. Billy Evans, Part 2: Addiction Recovery Through Psychedelic Integration & Identity Change

Psychedelic integration raises a bigger question than most people are ready to ask: what if substance abuse isn’t the real problem? There’s plenty of research around neuroplasticity, brain chemistry, and “resetting” systems - and that stuff matters. But it never tells the full story.Because most people don’t actually have an “alcohol problem” or a “drug problem.”They have a substance-based solution to deeper problem they don’t know how to deal with any other way.And that’s why abstinence alone rarely lasts. If you just take away someone’s solution - even a destructive one - without helping them solve the underlying problem, relapse is typically only a matter of time.In this episode, I sit down with my guy Billy Evans to unpack why this chapter of his recovery looks completely different from every attempt before it.Billy had gotten clean multiple times in the past through sheer willpower. And every time, life eventually applied enough pressure to overwhelm his coping mechanisms… and he went back. What changed wasn’t just more discipline. What changed was his identity.Through guided plant-medicine work, Billy didn’t just learn new coping strategies - he addressed the root issues that drove him to numb, escape, and check out in the first place. The version of him that needed substances to survive simply isn’t there anymore. That’s the difference. Not “staying clean,” but becoming someone who no longer needs the escape. This conversation also goes deep into why integration work matters so much after a major experience. Billy is a living example of what happens when insights get turned into structure, support, and real-world change instead of fading away after the retreat ends. You’ll hear Billy share his firsthand experience with integration — including his journey working with us — and why he says he’s doing better now than at any point in his adult life.About the guest: Billy Evans is a veteran and recovery professional whose work focuses on addiction, identity change, and long-term integration.

    20. Alice's Story Of Healing While Life Is Still (Sort Of) Falling Apart

Healing from trauma isn’t about fixing the past - it’s about learning how to stay present while you heal in real time.In this episode, Alice shares her story from the middle, not the finish line. She grew up in Russia in an abusive home, immigrated to the U.S. without speaking English, and learned early how to survive by pushing forward. That survival mode carried her into adulthood… into service as a first responder, into motherhood, and into multiple "failed" marriages as she ended up repeating the same patterns again and again. Alice became a police officer and later a corrections officer.  But her young son was diagnosed with leukemia, forcing her to walk away from her career and put everything into his health, safety, and emotional well-being. At the same time, her own unresolved childhood trauma and abusive marriages were catching up to her.I love this conversation because it isn't about a clean transformation story with a black and white pre / post plant medicine story or something where everyone lives happily ever after. Alice is still in it. She’s currently going through divorce #5 and actively doing the work — learning boundaries, rebuilding self-trust, and finding support through breathwork, community, retreats, and our online program. We talk honestly about what it means to heal while raising kids, navigating loss of identity, and letting go of relationships that no longer align — especially as a woman and a first responder (and a good Russian) who was trained to stay strong and keep going no matter the cost. What we cover:Childhood trauma and how it shapes adult relationshipsMarriage abuse and breaking long-term patternsBreathwork for trauma and emotional releaseHealing in the middle of divorce and life transitionAlice’s experience at FlowState retreats and in our online programThe role of community when you stop doing it all aloneThis episode is for anyone who feels like they’re late to healing… or scared they’re doing it “wrong.” You’re not behind. 19. Allen Heaton - Operation: Flowstate & Healing While Still On The Job

This episode was never actually meant to see the light of day as a regular podcast, but it turned out to be too good to keep under wraps. I’m joined by active-duty police officer Allen Heaton, who originally hopped on just to record a few quick snippets about his experience at last year’s Operation FlowState retreat, his upcoming role as head instructor at the 2026 retreat, and his new role as a mentor inside our Beyond the Uniform program.Allen first came to last year's retreat, then worked with us inside our online program and experienced some significant transformations as a result. Now, he’s coming back as part of our team to share his lessons learned with the next generation of active-duty first responders we’ll be working with.In this short episode, Allen talks about his experiences at the Operation FlowState retreat and the healing he was able to create without any plant medicine in the picture — and how that healing continued to unfold after he got home. He shares how the accumulated trauma from years of policing, including being shot on the job, turned out to be only the icing on the cake of issues that began much earlier in his life. The more recent job-related trauma was actually processed fairly quickly, which allowed him to keep peeling back the layers of the onion, exploring the deeper factors that shaped him into who he is today, and re-examining who he wants to become as he prepares to retire from policing next year.If you want to learn more about anything you heard in this episode, go to becomingom.org/flowstate for all the info on our retreat, or message us @becoming.om on Instagram to learn more.

    18. Expectations, Leadership & Healing with Tim "Chachi" Pachasa

How much time have you spent reflecting on a single word? Tim Pachasa—aka “Chachi”—has spent 13 years on one: expectations.Expectations shape how we communicate, how we lead, and how we navigate healing from PTSD and moral injury. I don’t think anyone has unpacked this concept more than Chachi. He has spent 20+ years in leadership positions in the military, runs his own leadership consultancy, serves as Executive Director at HunterSeven Foundation, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. This one gets more philosophical than usual, and you can tell we could nerd out about words for a long time. But it stays useful and practical too, I promise. Along the way, we get into:The language of expectations and how words frame realityImplications for leadership, fatherhood, and healing from PTSD & Moral InjuryWhy calling in an airstrike is the perfect microcosm of human communication (and why you should teach your toddler how to do it)Tim’s work with the HunterSeven Foundation and their critical missionTim sums it all up with a line I’ve already stolen and used repeatedly: “Control the controllables, and let go of the let-go-ables.” Easy… right?Find more at:HunterSeven Foundation — https://hunterseven.org/ HunterSeven Instagram — https://www.instagram.com/huntersevenfoundation/CAPE Lead (Chachi's leadership company) — https://www.capelead.com/ Chachi's YouTube — https://www.youtube.com/@capeleadleadership9036Chahi's Instagram — https://www.instagram.com/chachipachasa/--------------------------------------------The contents of this episode are for educational & entertainment purposes only and are not medical, legal, or mental-health advice. 16. Why Dr. Charlie Powell Sold His Thriving Medical Practice To Make A Documentary About Veterans Healing With Ibogaine

This episode dives into psychedelic retreats & psychedelic integration through the story of Dr. Charlie Powell—a veteran and physician with multiple board certifications and medical patents. He appeared to be crushing life by all external metrics, having built and sold a thriving medical practice, but severe burnout was eroding his wellbeing under the surface. Traditional medicine had nothing to offer him, and after he found real healing through plant medicine, he was appalled that the Western medical system never brought this option to the table for him. We get into how the stress showed up in his body, how he rethought “success,” and why he now advocates for honest, patient-centered healing.Charlie walks through his military background, the rollercoaster of building a high-performance medical practice, and the moment the wheels started to come off. He shares what he learned after discovering psychedelics, why many clinicians still won’t touch the topic, and how he reframed his life and work. We also talk about his passion project: creating a family-friendly retreat concept centered on accessibility and dignity for families who care for children with disabilities. You’ll hear a veteran’s perspective on service, identity, and purpose after the uniform—plus grounded takeaways on preparation, safety, and integration (yes we’re both technically doctors, but no, this is not medical advice). We also touch on all the buzzwords—like ibogaine, retreats in Mexico, and how to think about “aftercare” beyond any single experience—so you can sort the signal from the noise.Resources mentioned: • Healing Heroes — https://healingheroes.com/about/ • Solo Vive — https://solovive.com/ • Healing Heroes TV (Instagram) — https://www.instagram.com/healingheroestv/The contents of this episode are for educational & entertainment purposes only and are not medical, legal, or mental-health advice. 15. Hormonal Health in PTSD, TBI & Operator Syndrome Recovery with Dr. Taylor Bosley

PTSD and TBI often get framed as purely psychological issues, but hormone levels can tell a different story - one that often gets overlooked entirely, or is severely mismanaged. In this episode, Green Beret and double-board-certified physician Dr. Taylor Bosley breaks down how repeated brain stress can disrupt the HPA axis, why symptoms get misread, and why “just take testosterone bro” is completely the wrong move. We dig into what a thoughtful hormone workup looks like, how to vet a provider, and how effective management is both an art and a science. If you’ve dealt with trauma (whether through combat, work, or normal life), this episode will give you a more clear framework to understand this complicated topic, ask better questions and avoid common dead ends.We cover: • How brain injuries can derail endocrine signaling and show up as mood, energy, and sleep issues • “Operator syndrome” patterns and why one-size-fits-all protocols backfire • How to find a doctor to help you and where to begin with treatment • What happens in menopause, how we can mitigate symptoms & outdated misconceptions about risk • What lifestyle changes you need to make to have the best effectLinks to books mentioned: • Operator Syndrome by Chris Frueh • Estrogen Matters by Avrum Bluming and Carol Tavris • The New Menopause by Mary Claire Haver You can find more info on Dr. Bosley’s practice, Precision Wellness Group at their website here, or connect on IG here.Recommended Lab PanelsDr. Bosley recommends the following lab panels be tested to establish your baseline and investigate hormone-related health considerations. 14. Paul Nootbaar - Healing Severe Childhood Trauma Through MDMA-Assisted Therapy

Psychedelic integration sits at the center of this episode—a clear, grounded look at how real life changes after profound experiences. Paul Nootbaar shares an incredibly raw story: he lost his mother due to domestic violence as an infant, years of foster-care chaos followed, and later, becoming a dad brought a surge of buried memories and suicidal thoughts. What saved him was MDMA-assisted therapy, and the slow, steady work of integration. In fact, integration was so vital to Paul's healing that he's of the opinion people need to “journey less, integrate more.”We get specific about what integration can look like in day-to-day life: honest conversations with family, building routines that calm the nervous system, and choosing practices that hold you steady when memories surface. Paul also describes the difference between chasing “more sessions” and actually putting insights to work at home—sleep, nutrition, movement, journaling, and community. No silver bullets. Just consistent steps. You’ll hear how fatherhood became a catalyst for healing, why preparation and aftercare matter, and how a skilled psychedelic facilitator can help keep the process ethical and paced. If you’ve lived through significant childhood trauma—or you support someone who has—this conversation offers practical ideas without sensationalism or clinical promises. It’s education first, always.—The contents of this episode are for educational & entertainment purposes only and are not medical, legal, or mental-health advice. 13. Mark Herrmann - From Fire Fighter & EMT To Plant Medicine Activist & Facilitator

In this episode, I’m joined by Mark Herrmann — retired firefighter, ketamine clinic staffer, psychedelic advocate, and someone who’s clearly done the work.Mark’s path started like a lot of ours do - with childhood wounds that never really healed, but were covered over to allow him to function in his high-stress job. From the loss of his dad at a young age to decades of trauma absorbed on the job as a firefighter and EMT, Mark spent most of his life trying to keep it together... until tragedy striking close to home caused him to start to unravel. But that's also what spurred on his healing with plant medicine - including a trip with us down to the jungle of Peru, going through out Mindful Microdosing Program for integration, and much more. Mark now works with Inlighten Wellness Ketamine Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, volunteers with both Citizens for Psilocybin and the Scottsdale Research Institute to help move the needle for psychedelic access and education at the state level, and provides his own coaching, which you can learn more about here.

This is Part 2 of my conversation with Mike Legregni — retired Marine, former cop, founder of Veteran Wood Co., and a man who’s been through some serious shit in life and keeps on trucking. In this episode, we pick up where we left off and finally dive into the healing side of Mike’s story — including his powerful experiences with psychedelics through The Mission Within and his journey with MDMA-assisted therapy.Mike opens up about what it was like to revisit the darkest corners of his past, what came up during his ceremonies, and what he's still carrying. We talk about the real work of integration and why healing takes time, support, and community. And — spoiler alert — Mike just enrolled in the next round of our Mindful Microdosing Program to support his continued integration after he revisits the Medicine with another trip to Mission Within. 11. Mike Legregni, Part One: Rebuilding From Rock Bottom

I'm joined today by Mike Legregni, retired Marine & former police officer, current psychonaut, woodworker, and all-around good dude.Mike came from a pretty messed up background which launched him into the Marine Corps — a path that seemed like a solid way forward until an unfortunate turn of events derailed his career, led to his first brush with suicidal ideation, and left him essentially homeless for a stretch. After getting his act together, he found himself with a successful career in law enforcement... until another unfortunate turn of events blew that up too, bringing the suicidal ideation back and just generally screwing up his entire life.Add in life-threatening complications from a routine knee surgery, his wife battling cancer, and a very complicated family situation surrounding his father's death, and yeah — Greg has led quite a life.My plan was to cover all of that and get into how he began to heal with the help of plant medicine, but we just ran out of time — so you'll have to stay tuned for part 2 (and maybe even part 3...).You can find Mike @veteranwoodco on Instagram to check out his incredible work. Thanks again for listening! If you'd like to support the show, the best way is to share it with a friend and to leave a 5 Star rating on Spotify, or write me a review on Apple Podcasts. Thanks so much for your support. To learn more about our coaching programs and retreat offerings, visit https://www.instagram.com/becoming.om/Thanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    10. Billy Evans, Part One

Retired Marine Corpsman Billy Evans grew up witnessing drug and alcohol addiction in his parents - and later found himself facing the same darkness when his own life began to unravel. Billy was forced into medical retirement when he began to experience seizures secondary to his TBI sustained from multiple blast injuries overseas, only to come home to a tumultuous marriage which compounded his pain and catapulted him into drug use as an escape. Billy has since gotten clean, and his healing journey was accelerated by a psilocybin experience through a scholarship from the No Fallen Heroes Foundation (see our episode with Whiz Buckley for more on their work). Referred to us by mutual friend Jake Grey (featured on episode #7 of this podcast), Billy joined our Mindful Microdosing Program to help him integrate the lessons from his No Fallen Heroes retreat and make sure that the medicine led to long-lasting changes in his life.At the time of this publication, Billy is squarely in the middle of our 6-month program. He's here now to share the story that led him to seek help through plant medicine. We will do a follow-up episode after he graduates from the program to detail his experiences and explore how our program contributed to his integration process after the retreat.

    9. Seb Lavoie

I'm joined in this one by certified savage Seb Lavoie — he retired from working as an ERT Team Leader (think Canada's equivalent to SWAT) with the rank of Sgt. Major and he now works in private security (even holding a Master's degree in International Security & Global Counter-Terrorism) and helps us out as the head instructor for our Operation Flowstate BJJ Healing Retreats. Seb is also a lower leg amputee, a serious Orthodox Christian, and soon to be a published author. Given Seb's background, he spent many years fighting his demons... until he discovered the world of healing with psilocybin. What followed was a deeper faith, generational healing in his family, and a whole new level of peace in his life. A couple quotes that have stuck with me since this one:“The forgiveness you refuse to give is keeping you in prison.” “The grace that you get is the grace you surrender to.”Oh and Seb turned me onto this Christian prayer channel on youtube that I have actually been listening to every single morning since this podcast... didn't expect that to be one of my takeaways but here we are. RESOURCES & LINKS🔗 Follow Seb on Instagram: @slavccmdr🔗 Operation Flowstate: https://www.becomingom.org/flowstate🔗 Grace Oasis Youtube Prayer Channel 🔗 Stay tuned for updates on Seb’s upcoming book releaseThanks again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

    6. Dave Morrow, Part One

In this episode, I talk with Dave Morrow - veteran, podcast host, coach, published author, and BJJ white belt (at the time of this recording…) - about what what led him down the path of joining the Canadian Armed Forces, the factors that caused him to get out, and the all-too-common struggles he faced as a “disabled veteran” trying to navigate life with no support. We pause this saga just short of his transformation into the man he is now since Dave is currently enrolled in our Mindful Microdosing Program right now - I want to give him the time to finish going through our program before we reflect on all the changes brought about my plant medicine, our retreats, and all the other work Dave has done to shift his mindset & his identity. We do, though, dive into Dave's military background, his experiences in Afghanistan, and the moral injuries that can arise from witnessing the harsh realities of war. We highlights the challenges of returning home, the importance of finding support, and the journey towards recovery, especially as a parent. Dave shares his insights on the significance of addressing both physical and psychological injuries, emphasizing that healing is an ongoing process that requires community and vulnerability. In this conversation, David Morrow shares his journey from a troubled personal life filled with anger and anxiety to a path of healing and personal growth. He discusses the importance of PTSD treatment programs, facing trauma, and the fear that often hinders recovery. Transitioning from a teaching career to entrepreneurship, David emphasizes the significance of building a new identity and finding purpose in life. He also highlights the role of literature in his development and the primal need for action and creativity, especially for veterans. 5. Damian Robertson, Part One

In this episode, I sit down with Damian Robertson — a former Canadian soldier and world-renowned tattoo artist — to talk about the long road from survival to healing.Damian shares the compelling story of surviving a catastrophic train accident as a young soldier — a moment that left deep scars of PTSD he carried for decades. We talk about how trauma shaped his life, how it showed up in his relationships and at work, and what finally pushed him to seek help — ultimately leading to him and his family working with us.We're saving all the Ayahuasca stories for part two, but on this one we'll lay out his path leading up to those ceremonies, and how he used our Mindful Microdosing Program to help prepare and kickstart the healing processThis is part one of a powerful conversation. In the next episode, we’ll dive into what happened when Damian finally sat with ayahuasca — and how it changed his life forever. What We Cover On This One:Damian’s story of surviving a mass casualty train accidentHow trauma shaped his life for 20+ yearsWhy microdosing became the preparation ground for deeper healingWhat it looks like to do this work with integrity and guidanceThe importance of structure, support, and preparation before sitting with ayahuascaIf you’re curious about the microdosing program Damian went through — the same structure and support that helped him prepare for ceremony and change his life — shoot us a DM on Instagram with the word “interested.”We’ll send you the details and see if it’s the right fit.

    4. Toby Miller - How A Childhood Sexual Abuse Survivor and SOF Veteran Wounded In Combat Found Healing Through Microdosing & Ayahuasca

When Toby was introduced to us by mutual friend Seb Lavioe, he was struggling. Though to be fair, he was struggling less than he had been in previous years. Toby was sexually abused as a kid which led him down a path to join the Canadian Army and ultimately the Canadian Special Operations Regiment... which ultimately led him to a hillside in Afghanistan where an IED changed the trajectory of his life. He suffered for decades from the effects of PTSD and TBI - plagued by rage and depression he supplemented all the pills the doctors put him on (26 a day at one point) by self-medicated with liquor and cannabis. He and his wife Sheri approached us interested in attending an Ayahuasca retreat, but Toby was in no condition to travel to the jungle when we first met. We worked with them for 6 months inside of our microdosing program to get him off of his anti-depressants & quit drinking to prepare physically and mentally for the retreat. And his healing has been so profound that he and his wife now volunteer as peer mentors inside of our program in order to share their lessons learned and give back to their community of veterans, first responders and other trauma survivors. 3. How To Actually Overcome Self-Destructive Behaviors

Most of the time when someone is engaging in a destructive behavior like excessive drinking or cannabis use, scrolling TikTok for 8 hours a day or impulsively watching porn, they did not set out to actively destroy their own life. Rather, they engage in these things because it actually provides some kind of solution to a deeper problem. It helps numb them to the pain they feel, or soothe the sense of disconnection and lack of direction or purpose they may feel. Without addressing those underlying factors, any attempts to cut out that behavior cold-turkey are bound to fail... they will just leave this person feeling more stressed, in more pain, or more disconnected, leading to "relapse" or to develop some other issue as a result of this now unmitigated pain. In this episode I'll dive into how we have helped a number of people kick their drinking, smoking or scrolling habit for good by addressing those underlying problems in a meaningful way, and how plant medicine might be the missing piece that can help you do the same in your lifeIf you or someone you know could use some help with this, reach out to us on Instagram or send us a message at [email protected] again for listening!Enrollment is open right now for our Mindful Microdosing Program, which has helped 250+ veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD.Visit https://www.becomingom.org/coaching for all the info and to get in touch with us.Or DM us the word INTERESTED on Instagram.

The Way Broadly Archive - 51. Ayahuasca SoloSeries Part 1: A Reintroduction to the Medicine

This is part one of a multipart series I mapped out while sitting in the Pucallpa airport waiting to start my 24 hour journey out of the jungle and back into civilization. I recently led a group of pasajeros into the jungle to sit with Mother Ayahuasca, and this trip exceeded all expectations in every way. It was my first time leading a group like this solo, and it was quite an experience. Stay tuned to hear more lessons from the medicine that were imparted to other members of the group during their ceremonies, some tales of my own experiences with the medicine, and other wisdom gleaned from my time with the indigenous Shipibo people down in Peru.

The Way Broadly Archive - 50. William Tovar: How Psychedelics Help Veterans Heal, Jiu Jitsu, Turning Down Jobs, Psychedelic Peer Support Hotline

William Tovar is an air force veteran, jiu jitsu practitioner, father, and psychonaut. He went from an aimless, criminal youth to doing cool shit in the Air Force overseas, only to realize he didn't love getting shot at, and decided to get out. Upon coming home he drifted for some time, going from cooking in restaurants around California to working as a realtor for his veteran friends, during which time he turned down offers to go back overseas no matter how much money they threw at him. Now, he serves as Director of Operations for the FireSide Project, an organization that offers peer support during and after psychedelic experiences. It is important to note that the views and opinions expressed in this podcast are solely those of the host and guest, and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of any organization or institution they may be affiliated with. The Way Broadly Archive - 49. Brian Liu, the Cannabis Tech Guru

Brian Liu is a "business solutions architect" which I discovered today just means he's really good at solving problems for people. He spent much of his career working in technology systems solutions, but it turns out his true passions lie in cannabis, jiu jitsu and being a great dad. Brian is doing some awesome work in the Austin, Tx area to both lobby for changes in regulations governing the use of hemp products in the Lone Star State as well as making better information and products available to normal folks. The Way Broadly Archive - 48. Adam Fontana, Doctor of Musical Arts

Adam is a Doctor of Musical Arts, symphony conductor, jiu jitsu blue belt, and professor at SUNY New Paltz with a 100% rating on ratemyprofessors.comAdam is tremendously dedicated to jiu jitsu, driving several hours just to be able to train and take lessons with the best instructors possible. This has led to him making remarkable progress, going from me armbarring him multiple times a day to achieving the same belt rank as me since I moved to Mexico. And that truly bothers me. I can't wait to go back home and submit him again. Also, Adam recently gave a presentation to his peers at a conference for the National Association of College Band Directors where he blatantly ripped off the name of my podcast as he drew parallels between training jiu jitsu and conducting a symphony. And I think that's beautiful.

The Way Broadly Archive - 47. Zack Moore

Zack Moore is a dangerous conspiracy theorist who associates with the likes of Sam Tripoli, Eddie Bravo and Alex Jones. His views on supposed corruption within the United States government, especially surrounding the COVID pandemic response, are a serious threat to democracy and have rightfully earned him repeated shadowbans on all social media platforms. In response to digital censorship, Zack took it upon himself to publish a physical book, detailing the story of illustrious jiu jitsu wizard Eddie Bravo and his musical partner in crime, a gentleman named James Watson. I strongly encourage you to purchase a copy of this book so that you may burn it in protest of his far-right, hateful and misinformed views. The Way Broadly Archive - 44. Steve Kasten

I'm joined today by 10th Planet Long Island black belt and academy owner, Steve Kasten. Not too long ago, in an effort to solve his own back pain, Steve stumbled upon the work of Paul Chek, which not only solved his physical issues but set him down a path of studying esoteric practices and schools of thought. This conversation ranges from the study of tarot and past life regression to psychedelics, breathwork, and what it's like to run an academy. The Way Broadly Archive - 43. Chris Shagholi

You may know Chris as the dad of that 15 year old kid who tore apart a black belt's knee that one time. But did you know that he used to be a preacher and believed the earth to be only a few thousand years old? Did you know his view of the world changed by studying the work of Graham Hancock and Russel Carlson? Did you know that just a few months ago, he pulled all of his money out of long term stock market investments to go all in investing in himself, his community, and his passions? I really enjoyed getting to know Chris, and this conversation gave me the kick in the ass I needed to get back to training regularly. The Way Broadly Archive - 42. Mental Joe Apparel w/ Chad McLean

About two and a half years ago, Chad's sons were sleeping just down the hal when he opened his gun safe, grabbed a pistol, and put the muzzle to his head. Since he's appearing on my podcast right now, you can guess how that story ends. Ultimately, this incident prompted him and his wife to start looking at some alternative treatment methods, putting him onto the path he walks today. Chad is the founder of Mental Joe, a nonprofit that promotes TRE therapy for PTSD and sells apparel with some pretty slick designs. The proceeds of his sales all go towards funding access to psychedelic medicines for veterans struggling with mental health as he once did. I look forward to the day that Mental Joe Apparel can make a donation to the Plant Medicine Preservation Project, and sponsor a veteran to come down to Peru with me. Follow Chad on IG @mentaljoeapparel or visit their site to learn about TRE and buy some sweet gear.
