The Jerusalem Connection's Red Alert Report brings you news, commentary, and interviews with subject experts and eyewitnesses telling the story of Israel and its people, both ancient and modern to inform, educate and activate support for Israel and the Jewish people.Originally commissioned in 2010 as a YouTube video production by the Rev. Dr. Jim Hutchens to counter BDS, anti-Zionism, and Jew-hatred wherever it manifested, The Red Alert program developed into a platform to educate on all matters of truth surrounding Israel's Biblical foundations, historical context, and modern-day battle for security and peace. Educating Christians and the entire community on the history of persecution the Jewish people have faced, including the Holocaust and the most recent attempted genocide of October 7, 2023, the Red Alert Reports bring you valuable insights and conversations to strengthen the bonds of Christians and Jews. Red Alert: The Assault on the UK Jewish Community—and Why It Matters to Us All
This week’s Red Alert Report features Steven Jaffe from Northern Ireland Friends of Israel (follow, like, and share on Facebook). Steven joins us to highlight a deeply concerning incident that received little media coverage—yet indicates the growing danger facing Jewish communities across the United Kingdom. On March 23, terrorists with suspected ties to Iran targeted Hatzola, a Jewish volunteer ambulance service in Golders Green, London, destroyed four ambulances. This was not random. It was a targeted assault on a lifesaving service that responds to emergencies for anyone—Jewish or not. This episode was originally recorded just after the March 23 attack on the ambulances located in Golders Green. It is with horror that we report a second violent incident occurred in Golders Green on April 29, 2026, when two Jewish men were attacked and stabbed with a knife. The perpetrator has been arrested, and the entire community remains on high alert. Steven helps us understand why this attack is part of a much larger pattern. Antisemitic incidents in the UK have surged to some of the highest levels ever recorded. Jewish families are facing harassment in public spaces, synagogues and cemeteries are being vandalized, and physical assaults are increasing. The destruction of Hatzola’s ambulances is a chilling reminder that hatred does not remain abstract—it becomes action. In This Episode, We Discuss: What happened during the March 23 attack on Hatzola Why this incident reflects a broader rise in antisemitism across the UK How Jewish communities are coping with fear, vulnerability, and daily harassment The essential role Hatzola plays in emergency response and community care What allies—especially Christians—can do to stand with the Jewish communityWhy This Matters: Antisemitism is not a “Jewish issue.” It is a societal issue. History shows that when Jewish communities are targeted, the moral health of the entire society is at risk. Steven’s insights remind us that silence and indifference only embolden hatred. How We Can Respond: Support security efforts for Jewish institutions, including Hatzalah’s need for a secure ambulance depot. The link to help is here: Hatzola NW - Charity Extra https://www.charityextra.com/hatzola-emergency/282665 Engage local leaders to ensure antisemitism is addressed with seriousness and transparency Build bridges between Christian and Jewish communities, strengthening solidarity in times of rising hostilityThe attack on Hatzola is more than a local incident—it is a warning sign that demands our attention. Thank you for standing with us as we continue to inform, educate, and activate Christians to understand the truth about Israel, the Jewish people, and the challenges they face around the world. Red Alert: The Documentary Every Christian Needs to See: Beyond the River
This episode of the Jerusalem Connection Red Alert Report features documentary filmmaker Igal Hecht, our partner in an important new project: Beyond the River. This sweeping documentary series—currently in production with support from The Jerusalem Connection—aims to cut through misinformation and bring clarity to the complex history of the Middle East.In a time when narratives about Israel and the Palestinian conflict are shaped more by ideology than by truth, Beyond the River seeks to restore what has been lost: historical context, factual accuracy, and honest storytelling. Why This Film MattersIgal Hecht takes viewers on a journey from the era of the Ottoman Empire to today’s tensions with Iran, exposing how key historical facts have been ignored, distorted, or intentionally erased. His work challenges long-held assumptions and confronts the roots of modern narratives that shape public opinion—especially among young people, academics, and influencers. One of the film’s central insights is the historical connection between the early Palestinian movement and Nazi ideology. While controversial, this documented history is essential for understanding how certain narratives developed and why they persist today. For Christians, this film is especially urgent. We cannot speak the truth if we do not know the truth. Biblical literacy, paired with historical understanding, equips believers to lovingly and confidently counter falsehoods—whether they come from classrooms, pulpits, media, or cultural voices. What We Discuss in This EpisodeThe vision behind Beyond the River and why it’s needed nowHow historical facts about the region have been obscured or rewrittenThe origins of the term “Palestine” and how identity narratives evolvedWhy misinformation spreads so easily in academic and cultural spacesHow the film will provide not just a documentary, but an ecosystem of interviews and resources for deeper learningChallenging MisconceptionsHecht’s team interviews a wide range of voices to present a balanced, historically grounded narrative. By revisiting overlooked facts—such as the British introduction of the term “Palestine” in 1917—the film helps viewers understand how modern narratives were constructed and why they matter today.A Call to Equip OurselvesThis project is more than a film. It is a tool for education, discernment, and truth-telling.Christians must be prepared to counter misinformation with clarity and compassion. When we equip our families, churches, and communities with truth, they are far less vulnerable to the lies that dominate today’s discourse.Key TakeawaysThe Middle East conflict cannot be understood without historical context, in addition to Biblical contextMany modern narratives are built on omissions or distortionsEducation is essential for combating misinformationBeyond the River will be a vital resource for Christians seeking truthWe are honored to help bring this documentary to life—and we invite you to join us in this journey toward truth, clarity, and biblical understanding. To make a tax-deductIf you enjoyed this conversation, please follow/subscribe, like, and share it to reach a larger audience. Red Alert: A Persian Christian’s Perspective on God, the Bible, and Israel
In this episode, we feature the remarkable testimony of Marziyeh Amirizadeh (President of NewPersia.org), a woman whose journey from oppression in Iran to freedom in America reveals the resilience of faith under fire. Born just months before the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Marziyeh grew up in a society transformed by radical ideology, where children were taught to chant “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” and where fear shaped every part of daily life. Yet even in that environment, her family instilled values of love, dignity, and respect—seeds that would later lead her to question the regime’s teachings and seek truth for herself. Her search culminated in a miraculous encounter with Jesus, dreams that confirmed God’s love for her, and a bold decision to share the gospel inside one of the world’s most dangerous environments for Christians. That decision eventually led to her arrest and imprisonment in Iran’s notorious Evin Prison, where she endured brutality, witnessed injustice, and yet continued to minister to fellow inmates with courage and compassion. After international pressure secured her release, Marziyeh found refuge in the United States. Today, she is a passionate advocate for persecuted Christians, Iranian women, and for building bridges of understanding between Christians and the Jewish people. In our conversation, Marziyeh shares how her own reading of Scripture transformed her view of Israel—recognizing that her Savior is Jewish and that much of the Bible she treasures is the Hebrew Bible. Her testimony offers a timely and deeply personal perspective in a post–October 7 world. In This Episode, You’ll Hear:What it was like growing up under Iran’s theocratic regimeHow God used dreams and friendships to lead Marziyeh to faithThe dangers of underground ministry and her imprisonment in Evin PrisonHow she found the strength to witness to others behind barsWhy her understanding of the Bible reshaped her view of IsraelHer call for Christians to pray for and support the persecuted churchMarziyeh's story is a profound reminder that even in the darkest places, God is at work—and that faith can flourish in the most unlikely circumstances.Marziyeh's books: www.MarzisJourney.comMarziyeh's ministry, www.NewPersia.orgMarziyeh's work with Israel, www.RootandBranchIsrael.comThank you for standing with us as we work to inform, educate, and activate believers toward deeper biblical literacy and aIf you enjoyed this conversation, please follow/subscribe, like, and share it to reach a larger audience. If you care about strengthening Christian understanding of Israel—and equipping the next generation to stand for truth—this is an episode you won’t want to miss.Amanda shares her remarkable journey of discovering the Jewish roots of her faith, beginning in high school and deepening through college as she wrestled with questions of identity, purpose, and Scripture. Her encounters with Messianic Jewish believers opened her eyes to the continuity between the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament, reshaping her understanding of Jesus, Israel, and God’s covenant promises.A life-changing trip to Israel solidified her calling. Amanda realized that many young adults lack the biblical and historical context needed to understand Israel’s role in God’s plan. Red Alert: Why Study the Bible in Israel? A Conversation with the American Christian Trust
Red Alert: Why Study the Bible in Israel? A Conversation with the American Christian TrustWith Amy ZeweIn an age when understanding the roots of our faith is more important than ever, the American Christian Trust is stepping forward with a transformative educational opportunity. Led by Mark Pritchett, this groundbreaking program invites Christians to study Scripture in the land where the biblical story unfolded—Israel itself. In this week’s Red Alert Report episode, Mark Pritchett shares the details of “A Chronology of the People and Land of the Bible,” a unique learning experience in Israel that brings the Bible to life through expert teaching, on-site excursions, and collaborative discussions. Participants will study with Jewish scholars and elite professors from Hebrew University, gaining a deeper and more accurate understanding of God’s Word. Why Study the Bible in Israel? Many Christians begin and end their study in the New Testament, missing the richness, continuity, and revelation found in the Hebrew Scriptures. This program helps believers reconnect with the full biblical narrative—God’s plan, God’s people, and God’s land.Studying the Bible in its original context is also one of the strongest defenses against the subtle and not-so-subtle forms of antisemitism that have crept into parts of the Church. When Christians understand the Jewish roots of their faith, false teachings lose their power. What Participants Can ExpectWhether pursuing undergraduate or graduate credit—or simply seeking personal enrichment—students will encounter a life-changing experience. The course blends:Expert instruction from Jewish scholarsImmersive site visits across IsraelInteractive learning with a diverse cohortA restored understanding of the Bible’s continuity from Genesis to todayThe American Christian Trust’s initiative is far more than an academic program. Did the Apostle Paul Really Start a New Religion?
Today's Red Alert is co-hosted by Amy Zewe and Shelley NeeseReframing the Apostle Paul: A Conversation with Ryan LambertIn this week’s episode, we sit down with Ryan Lambert, author of The Weird Apostle: The Strange Jewish Mission of a Global Game Changer, to explore one of the most misunderstood figures in the New Testament: the Apostle Paul. Ryan’s lifelong fascination with Paul has led him to uncover a deeper, richer narrative—one that challenges long-held assumptions and invites both Christians and Jews into a more honest and fruitful dialogue.Paul: Not a Convert, but a Called JewOne of Ryan’s central insights is his challenge to the traditional idea that Paul “converted” to Christianity. Instead, Ryan argues Paul experienced a vocational calling, not a religious departure. His encounter on the road to Damascus was not the birth of a new religion, but a commissioning within Judaism—a mission to bring the nations into the family of God without erasing their identities or severing his own Jewish roots. This reframing matters. When Paul is removed from his Jewish context, his writings become distorted, and the bridge he intended to build becomes a barrier instead.Recovering Paul’s Jewish ContextRyan emphasizes that Paul’s teachings cannot be understood apart from his Jewish identity. The Hebrew Scriptures, Jewish tradition, and the covenantal story of Israel shaped his letters, mission, and theology. When we overlook this context, we risk misinterpreting Paul—and misrepresenting the very faith he lived and taught. Paul’s mission, Ryan explains, was never about replacing Israel or negating the Torah. It was about expanding the family of God, not shrinking it. His work was bridge‑building at its core. Why This Matters TodayMisunderstandings of Paul have had real consequences throughout history. When Paul is portrayed as the founder of a new religion or as someone who rejected Judaism, it has fueled division, supersessionism (replacement theology), and even antisemitism. Ryan calls us to approach Paul with humility, accuracy, and respect—recognizing the harm caused by misreadings and the healing that can come from better understanding. By recovering Paul’s true context, Christians can engage more meaningfully with Jewish communities and foster healthier interfaith relationships.Key Takeaways from Our Conversation: Paul’s story is a vocational calling within Judaism, not a conversion away from it.We cannot understand the New Testament without Paul, and we cannot understand Paul without his Jewish identity.Historical misreadings of Paul have contributed to division and antisemitism, making accurate interpretation essential for healing and dialogue.Go to www.BridgeBuildersForum.com and check Ryan Lambert’s Olive Tree Campaign, Podcasts, and Learning Resources, including the book, The Weird Apostle (available on Amazon). If you enjoyed this conversation, please follow/subscribe, like, and share it to reach a larger audience. Red Alert: Can Voices from Northern Ireland Help Strengthen Global Support for Israel?
Today's Guest: Steven Jaffe, Chair of Northern Ireland Friends of IsraelIn this episode, we welcome Steven Jaffe, Chair of the Northern Ireland Friends of Israel, joining us from the United Kingdom to shed light on the realities facing the Jewish community in Northern Ireland and the broader region.Steven shares encouraging news: Israel and the Jewish people have many Christian and non-Jewish allies who stand with them. Yet he also explains the difficult truth—political hostility toward Israel often spills over into hostility toward local Jewish communities.Raised in Northern Ireland, Steven grew up within his Jewish family surrounded by a Christian community that embraced and supported the small Jewish minority. Only later did he recognize the wider undercurrents of antisemitism and anti-Zionism shaping the region. This realization led him to partner with non-Jewish allies to counter misinformation, challenge false accusations, and build bridges rooted in shared values and truth.Steven also walks us through the deep historical ties between Ireland, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel—including the remarkable legacy of Chaim Herzog, the Irish-born 6th President of Israel, and his father, Isaac Herzog, the first Chief Rabbi of Ireland. Red Alert: International Holocaust Remembrance Day
In this episode of The Red Alert Report, we are joined by Aaron Fruh, President of Israel Team Advocates. As a speaker, author, and Bible teacher, Aaron has dedicated his life to advocating for Israel around the world. He brings a powerful message about why remembering the past is essential if we hope to change the present—especially within the Christian community.Aaron explains how Replacement Theology, Marxism, Wokism, and Islamism have converged to erode Christian support for Israel and the Jewish people. These ideologies distort Scripture, rewrite history, and sow confusion among believers. But as Aaron reminds us, knowledge is power. Biblical literacy and historical accuracy are indispensable tools for resisting deception and strengthening our commitment to truth. In this conversation, Aaron unpacks why so many young Christians are losing their understanding of Zionism—and what we can do to reverse that trend. His insights challenge, equip, and encourage believers to stand firm in a cultural moment where clarity and courage are desperately needed.Note: The first few minutes of audio have minor imperfections due to connectivity issues.Links and resources mentioned in today’s podcast:Aaron’s Organization Israel Team Advocates: www.IsraelTeam.orgAmerican Center for Law and Justice, Stuart Roth: www.ACLJ.orgBook: The Casualty of Contempt: The Alarming Rise of Antisemitism. Red Alert: Christmas Hope in Bethlehem
As the Christmas season approaches, we turn our eyes to Bethlehem—the birthplace of our Savior. British journalist Paul Calvert, who has lived in Bethlehem for over 20 years, joins us with an encouraging update from the “capital of Christmas.”After two years of hardship marked by war and uncertainty, optimism is beginning to resurface in Bethlehem. Tourism is slowly returning, and a celebratory spirit is reawakening in the city. For a place that has endured so much, this renewed joy is a powerful reminder of resilience and hope. The Christian population in Bethlehem continues to face significant struggles. False political doctrines often distort theology, obscuring the truth of the Gospel and the call to love one’s neighbor. Yet the very sites preserved to commemorate the birth of Jesus testify to His Jewish identity and the enduring truth of Scripture. Light will revisit Bethlehem, and the Land continues to speak. Red Alert: Why Visit Israel During the Fall Feasts?
Shelley Neese, President of The Jerusalem Connection, recently returned from leading a group of Gen Z pilgrims through Israel during the Feast of Tabernacles in early October 2025. They were there as part of the ICEJ USA Feast of Tabernacles celebrations that have been going on for over 40 years. Each journey to the Holy Land carries its own unique blessing, drawing visitors closer to God. But experiencing Israel through the eyes of first-time travelers—especially young believers—is profoundly moving and deeply inspiring. This year's trip was especially meaningful. Shelley led the group through biblical sites that follow Jesus' footsteps, helping them connect more closely to their Savior in a real and life-changing way. But the pilgrimage also intersected with history in real time.If you enjoyed this conversation, please follow/subscribe, like, and share it to reach a larger audience. Red Alert: Who Can Help Pave the Road to Healing?
Dudi “David” Lev joins us from Israel to share a powerful story of recovery and resilience. A veteran IDF soldier whose battlefield included his own neighborhood, Dudi suffered severe physical and psychological wounds while defending his community from persistent terror threats. His account reveals the toll of living under constant danger and the strength required to rebuild life and relationships after severe, life-threatening trauma. In the days since the remaining living hostages were freed from Hamas captivity, the country has erupted in relief and gratitude. Celebrations have mingled with sober reflection as Israelis embrace a fragile peace and begin the long work of healing. The collective exhale across the nation marks a hopeful first step toward resilience, recovery, and honoring the lives forever altered by this trauma.Dudi shares how Friends of the IDF (FIDF) played a pivotal role in his recovery after severe injury and the relational strain that often follows trauma. While his body was treated by the most skilled medical teams, it was the FIDF support that helped steady his mind and rebuild connections within his community. Across Israel, people are moving through different stages of recovery from terror, war, loss, and injury, and FIDF provides practical, compassionate services to every Israeli soldier and civilian alike—wherever they are on the path to healing.Dudi generously shares his story as one example of how the FIDF is serving the people of Israel—the warriors, the civilians, the families—the entire nation. The war may seem to be over, but the wounds run deep, healing is a long journey, and Dudi’s story, with the assistance of the FIDF professionals, reveals to us the ongoing need Israelis have for our support, prayers, and encouragement. Red Alert: Are You Rejoicing? Prayers are Answered!
By now, you are aware and rejoicing over the return of the 20 living hostages held captive in Gaza. Each returning to the warm embrace of family, nation, and world. We also pray for those collecting the remains of their loved ones lost in Gaza so that they may be laid to rest in a proper burial. Only now can all of Israel begin to breathe and look towards the road to healing. On October 4th, 2025, the Israeli American Council (IAC) DC chapter and Bender Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater Washington hosted an October 7th commemoration that honored the victims, survivors, and families affected by the horrid terror attack in Israel on October 7, 2023. During this event, we were all hopeful that the then-budding deal for peace and the return of the hostages would come to fruition. Indeed, we have seen that reality as of October 13th. My participation in the event included the privilege of interviewing Daniel Neutra, brother of Omer Neutra. Omer was a 21-year-old lone soldier serving in the IDF on the Gaza border as a tank commander on October 7th. This New Yorker, born to Israeli parents, was on active duty that horrible day of October 7th. Omer was abducted into Gaza and later was confirmed dead, and his body remained in Gaza until the deal was recently brokered to return all captives to Israel. In today’s Report, Daniel shares with the community the memory of his big brother, Omer. As of Oct. 15, please continue to pray for the families of those 21 Hamas victims still NOT returned to their families to be laid to rest. Omer is one of them. Barry Shaw, Israel, and Charlie Kirk
Scholar, researcher, and writer Barry Shaw of The Israel Institute of Strategic Studies & The View from Israel joins the program to discuss the senseless assassination of Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old man dedicated to his faith in Jesus, his family, and truth. Charlie was a devout follower of Christ. Grounded in Scripture and sharpened by a deep understanding of history and current affairs, he became a bold commentator on the moral and ethical crises confronting the globe. Charlie’s understanding of Israel—both through the lens of Scripture and the realities of modern geopolitics—made him a resolute ally of the Jewish people. His convictions weren’t born of convenience or political expediency, but of a sincere belief in the biblical covenant and a clear-eyed view of history’s lessons. Guided by faith and fortified by reason, Charlie became a vocal advocate against the global surge in antisemitism. He consistently called out the corrosive narratives pushed by mainstream media, academia, and political elites—narratives that distort Israel’s role and downplay the existential threats it faces. In a time when truth is often sacrificed for ideology, Charlie stood firm, defending Israel’s right to exist, to protect its people, and to be recognized as a beacon of values in a hostile world. Charlie Kirk’s visits to Israel weren’t just symbolic—they were transformative. He traveled there twice, each time returning with insights that challenged the dominant cultural narratives often pushed by Western media and academia. In his own words, Kirk described Israel as a place that “strengthened my faith, made the Bible pop into reality, and gave me the most precious memories with Erika.” He saw Israel not only as a geopolitical ally but as living proof of God’s covenant—a spiritual anchor in a world adrift. Kirk’s revelations stood in stark contrast to the growing skepticism and hostility toward Israel in many circles and in classrooms. In this episode, Barry conveys the heartfelt response from Israelis in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s tragic death—a loss that reverberates far beyond the Christian community. What stands out is not uniformity of belief, but a shared recognition of Charlie’s humanity and courage. Despite differing views on theology or philosophy, Israelis from across the spectrum have united in mourning a man they saw as a true friend—someone who stood for truth, even when it was unpopular. Their response is a powerful reminder that even in a world fractured by ideology, there remains common ground: the ability to honor life, respect conviction, and uphold dignity across disagreement. It also underscores a deeper truth—that our public discourse must be rooted in the ethical foundations of the Judeo-Christian tradition.
