EP 112: How Working Moms Take Back Control: Systems, Identity Shifts and Having it All with Courtney Cecil
Today on The Sarah Centrella Show, my friend Courtney Cecil joins me for a real conversation about what it actually looks like to be a high-achieving working mom trying to hold everything together, and why so many women feel like they’re constantly in reaction mode instead of in control of their lives. She is the Founder of Working Mom's Movement, a coach for working moms and podcast host. (Watch it on YouTube) *If you enjoy todays show please comment, share, and leave a review! We get into the pressure of managing a demanding career while being present at home, the mental load that never shuts off, and the disconnect so many women feel between how capable they are and how stretched thin they’ve become. Courtney shares how her corporate background shaped the way she approached performance, productivity, and expectations, and how that eventually led her to realize that the problem isn’t effort, it’s the systems and structure we’re relying on. This conversation breaks down what actually needs to change to move out of survival mode. We talk about building practical systems that support real life, not perfection, how to shift out of the constant cycle of reacting and into intentional decision-making, and what it looks like to redefine control in a way that allows you to show up fully in your career, your family, and for yourself. If you’ve ever felt like life is running you, like you’re doing everything “right” but still ending the day exhausted and behind, this episode will give you a different way to think about how you’re operating, and what it takes to finally create a life that works. (watch this episode on YouTube) Samantha shares the story of growing up in a trauma-filled household marked by addiction, illness, financial hardship, and instability. Welcome back to the Sarah Centrella Show you can watch the video of this episode on YouTube In this raw and unfiltered conversation, I sit down with Elise Kelly, Minneapolis mom, intuitive storyteller, and co-host of the Trust Yourself! podcast with her sister Heidi Hansen — a platform grounded in intuition, self-worth, and real talk. Elise recently posted a viral reel detailing the daily lived reality in her city after heightened federal enforcement actions, and the impact it’s having on residents — especially families trying to feel safe and human in their own community. In this episode, we peel back the headlines and talk about what life actually feels like for moms on the ground: the fear, the grief, the resilience, and the yearning to protect children while holding space for humanity. Ep 104. When Enough is Enough: Searching for a Path Forward
Today’s episode is deeply personal. I ask that you listen with an open mind and heart to the end. You can watch it here on YouTube I’m sharing how I’m processing the recent killings in Minnesota, the grief, anger, fear, and confusion they’ve stirred, and the questions I’ve been sitting with since. This is not a political takedown, and it’s not about choosing sides. It’s an honest reflection on what it feels like to witness violence, loss of life, and the growing sense that something is deeply broken. In this episode, I ask hard questions, the kind that don’t fit neatly into party lines. I speak to both sides of the aisle, not from ideology, but from humanity. From the shared belief that no matter our politics, tyranny, violence, and violations of basic human rights should never be normalized. This is me thinking out loud, searching for a more grounded, open-minded way forward, one rooted in compassion, discernment, and unity rather than fear and division. If you’ve been struggling to make sense of what’s happening, feeling torn between outrage and exhaustion, or wondering how we move forward without losing our humanity, this conversation is for you. This episode is an invitation to slow down, stay curious, listen more deeply, and remember that our common enemy is not each other. Ep 101: What the Year of the Horse Means for 2026 with Anniston Riekstins
In this episode, I sit down with Anniston Riekstins, bestselling author of The Universe Is Hiring, master numerologist, and host of The Anniston Riekstins Show, for a powerful conversation about the energetic undercurrent of 2025 and what it’s meant for so many of us on a personal and collective level. (watch this ep on Youtube) Anniston breaks down 2025 from a numerology perspective and explains the collective energy that shaped this year, including why so many people experienced emotional endings, heaviness, and a sense of closure around long chapters of their lives. I share my own experience of how this “year of the snake” mirrored a deeply emotional unraveling and completion of several major areas in my life, and if you felt that darker, more introspective energy too, Anniston explains exactly why. The good news? 2026 is the year of the horse, and everything shifts. Anniston walks us through what this new energy brings, why momentum, expansion, and forward movement return, and how to prepare yourself to align with what’s coming next. This conversation offers clarity, validation, and hope, especially if 2025 felt intense, emotional, or transformative for you. Anniston Riekstins is the founder of The Magnetic Woman, a best-selling author, master numerologist, and transformational guide who helps women come home to themselves. After two decades in corporate leadership and a personal journey through burnout and self-reclamation, Anniston now blends sacred energetics with grounded strategy—showing women how to release old patterns, trust their intuition, and live in divine alignment. Her work awakens the feminine within—so you can stop performing, start receiving, and create a life rooted in peace, purpose, and unapologetic power. Ep 100: What My Two-Month Solo Journey Taught Me About Life and How to Live it
Welcome back to the Sarah Centrella Show, don't forget to subscribe and share (watch this ep on my Youtube channel and be sure to like and subscribe) Episode 100 is a big one for me. Hitting this milestone feels surreal, especially because this episode is all about the trip that changed me in ways I didn’t even expect. After the most heartbreaking season of my life, I spent two months traveling solo through Europe and Morocco—celebrating my 50th birthday, grieving, healing, and reconnecting with myself. Travel became my teacher. Every single day handed me a new lesson I didn’t even know I needed. In this episode, I’m sharing those lessons—the real ones, the messy ones, the ones that cracked me open and helped put me back together. I talk about what happens when you stop doing the most and give yourself permission to do less. How trusting your gut gets easier when you stop letting the noise make your decisions. Why surrendering isn’t giving up—it’s opening the door for the universe to show you something better. And how storms, literal and emotional, always pass if you’re patient enough to wait them out. I share the moments that pushed me out of my comfort zone, the strangers who reminded me to be more social and open, the places that taught me to be curious again, and why saying yes changed everything. I even share the story of how facing one of my biggest fears turned into one of the highlights of my life. If you’re in a season where you feel stuck, lost, or ready for something new—but not sure how to move forward—this episode is for you. These lessons aren’t just about travel. They’re about life, resilience, faith, inner knowing, and what’s possible when you don’t give up too early. Come take this journey with me. I share how I’m learning to grieve, heal, grow, and move forward, while trusting the Universe now more than ever. It's been filled with dramatic highs and lows and I've questioned myself a million times along the way, but what I've never done is, quit. It's hard to believe that I've actually been at this over twice as long as I ever stayed at a single job my entire life! Through this journey I've learned so much, most of it the HARD WAY, so that's why I always keep it real about what it's actually like to make this giant move, it's not all just a shiny IG story! Now it's time for the tougher, deep, HONEST work.... - What are 3-5 things I know I need to change or work on about myself? - What is my worst trait or character flaw? - Looking at my past 5 years, can I identify 3-5 self-sabotaging behaviors that have come up more than once? (In any area of my life) - In an argument, do I take accountability and ownership for my part in the disagreement or what led to it? - Do I apologize sincerely when I am wrong, and understand why what I did impacted the other person the way it did? - When presented with negative or critical feedback, how do I normally react? - Can I usually see someone else's point of view even if I don't agree with it? - Am I aware of how I affect other people? Can I notice when my behavior or actions are bothering them and adjust if needed to consider others' feelings? - What role (be specific) have I played in the things that have "gone wrong" in my past? - How did my actions, decisions, or behaviors impact the outcome, and can I take responsibility and accountability for that? - What are 3 NEW things I've been able to see or identify about myself by doing this work, that I would like to improve, grow, or change? Tune in as we unravel the layers of self-awareness, offering insights and strategies to navigate the path toward a more authentic and enlightened version of yourself. Save this episode and come back to it in a few months, test yourself, have you become more open to feedback? More aware of your actions, reactions, decisions, and their impact on others? Ep 63. Mental Tennis: How to Change Your Thoughts to Change Your Outcomes
Welcome back to The Sarah Centrella Show! Subscribe to my Substack coaching blog Read my chapter on Mental Tennis in my new book Think It. In today's short coaching episode, I'll teach you Mental Tennis, my most popular tool for changing your thoughts and beliefs. I began coaching this tool in 2014 and it's one of the three tools in the ThinkIT step of my Centrella Method in Hustle Believe Receive. It is by far the simplest and most effective way to get control of your thoughts and change the underlying beliefs, for good. But as with all things, it will only work if you PRACTICE IT, so begin using it immediately! You can use it for any topic, it works the same with everything from thoughts on relationships, self-worth, self-beliefs, money, career, body image... you name it! Step 1: is to recognize your thoughts. Believe it or not, most thoughts go unnoticed, they just run in the background noise of our mind, so just hearing them in the first place is a win! It's an exercise in being present. Step 2: When you hear the thought, ask yourself, does this thought serve me? In other words, do I want to live the outcome of this thought? Step 3: If the answer is no.. use Mental Tennis. Watch my REEL on Mental Tennis to get the visual (and be sure to comment your thoughts!) This tool does two powerful things, 1). It stops the negative thought from manifesting its negative real-life equal. 2). It creates a new positive outcome that didn't exist before. So, be diligent! Practice it with determination and relentlessness. Soon the negative thoughts will recede and the positive ones will begin taking it's place, creating a new belief. That new belief will drive brand-new results. Want to learn my other 3 tools for how to change your thoughts, reduce stress and anxiety and begin manifesting everything you want? Take my Mini-Mind Lab Course for ONLY $27! Want to work with me? Schedule a 15-min consultation to see how my coaching can help you create and live your dream life!
